I am so grateful for the conservative dance studio and their teachers. My daughter started taking dance when she was three and has benefited from their care and concern for her. She was shy and did not like change so we would sit out of class and watch until she was comfortable. She quickly adapted and became a vital part of the CofD company in her high school years and has gained genuine friendships with the other dancers; and I have enjoyed being part of the kind-and-down-to-earth dance moms. Teachers like Marco, Kelsey, Hillary, Sharon etc have challenged and guided my daughter into a beautiful dancer and person. Tasteful costumes and trendy styles and music were a plus. My daughter started with CoD over 4 years ago. She initially took a dance camp during the summer and loved it so much that we put her in a ballet class. From there she decided that she wanted to try out for company. She's been part of company for the past 3 years. The teachers and owners are amazingly talented people who put love into everything they do. If you are looking for a "Dance Mom" school where people are yelling or putting the kids down then you'll need to go someplace else. Oh how many good times I used to have at Conservatory of Dance! For about six years of my life I danced at this studio taking everything from ballet, tap, and jazz. I attended dance lessons once or twice a week for about an hour from third grade to ninth grade when I stopped. Once a year we would put on a huge recital which is definitely the high light of taking the classes. Because I was there so many years ago I can't vouch for who or how the current owners are, but I had an awesome experience when I was dancing there. The teachers were always professional and cutting edge, and the classes were always fun and functional. If you are looking for a place to take a class or have children who are interested I would check Conservatory of Dance out! It's professional, affordable, and fun. read more

My daughters have been dancing there for the past few years and loved it! This studio has a great balance between teaching the techniques of dancing and having fun. All the teachers, including the owners, are wonderful. They have everything from Hip Hop to Ballet to Tumbling, for ages three through High School. Their yearly performances are at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts and are always great. The performances are not mandatory and one of my daughters will choose to do maybe two out of the four classes she takes. All in all this is a really great studio. read more

Updating my review as my daughter is now in year 2 of dancing on one of CofD's competition teams. I still love the studio, teachers, staff and fellow families. Everyone is super encouraging of all of the dancers and as other reviewers have commented, there is no real "dance mom" drama that I can see. My daughter loves dancing here. read more

If your looking for a place for your kids to come home and cry to you everyday about how they hate their dance studio then this is the place for you! I honestly think if you have at least a caring place in your heart you will not send your kids here. These coaches treat every dancer completely different and that is one of the many reasons why this dance studio is the worst in scottsdale. There are so many other amazing dance studios in the area where your kid will for sure be treated respectfully. I now send my daughter to dancers domain and now she always comes home with a smile. Switched up from AZ Sunrays. Love it here. Cheaper, more room, nicer location. My daughter's teacher is great. She's stricter on the young girls which they need sometimes. I hated paying for a class where the kids never listened and the teacher just let them run around and not listen. read more

We decided on Conservatory of Dance by recommendation and they did not disappoint. Our 4 year old took the tap/ballet combo class, had a great teacher, and enjoyed herself. This is a nice studio, with televisions to watch your child's class, and is reasonably priced. read more

This is my favorite place to be . It was my first year on the company team Preteen and it made me feel so so happy. I have learned everything there and gotten stronger. Marco and Kelsey are the best teachers I could ever have. I have gotten closer and closer to my splits everyday because of Marco and Kelsey. I recently moved up to this area and was looking for a good dance school to send my daughter to. She had been taking tap/ballet and I found the perfect class exactly in the time frame I was needing it to be in and the price was comparable to what we were paying before. Also, there was a special "princess dance camp" during the summer that seemed like fun. The first day of her new ballet/tap class, my daughter came out to ask me if she could stay for the jazz class which was directly after her current class. We have been there for the past couple of months and she is still having a blast. I am so glad I found this place on Yelp and I would recommend it to any and all parents looking for a good dance school for their kids. read more

Love this studio! I have two girls dancing in Company for a number of years. The lobby is very welcoming and when time permits, I love sitting there watching my girls dance on the TV screens as well as getting to know the other moms/dads. There is no 'Dance Mom' feel, no crazy drama or competitiveness. Everyone is so kind and friendly. My daughters love the staff. Aside from being excellent choreographers and teachers, they are also very nurturing and the girls know they can go to them for anything, dance-related or not. This studio is not about winning. My daughter loved her dance class with Miss Leah! She loved all the friends she got to see every week and when it was time for recital she was so thrilled to perform on the stage. What a great experience for my little girl. Registration, costumes, recital, everything was run smoothly and communicated clearly. (part 1)This studio is god awful, if you are thinking about sending your kids here don't, there are by far way better studios like Adage, Dancer Domain and Centerstage. Let me start out by saying this I went here for 3 years straight and I know pretty much everyone who went here and all these reviews are written by phony dance moms, I though have nothing to hide because I don't go here anymore so I don't really care what they say about this review and I will not hold anything back. So I don't really remember the first two years except this one dance teacher who I won't say his full name because i'm nice so i'll take one letter off and replace it , marc0 who hated me from the day I stepped foot in there. He continually talked down to me and always put me in the back corner never gave me a chance. so anyway it comes time to when I want to try out for the competition team and I went to tryouts tried out and then waited until I got the email. One day I got the email and it said I made it to the junior competition team which was the competition team my best friend was on so you could imagine how happy I was. I remember my mom calling her mom and telling her the news and she congratulated me and I remember crying because I never thought I was as good as the other girls so I was always insecure but making the junior team boosted my confidence so much I was so so so happy I was also only nine years old at the time so remember that when I tell you the rest of my experience. So it comes time to the dance summer camp (which you should also never send your kids to there are way better ones) but I went to the camp and I was so excited I was telling everyone that I made the team and then when camp was over that day my mom went up to the front desk to talk about me making the team and how to pay for it so when she said I made it on the junior competition team the lady at the front desk said Sophie? and my mom said yes I got the email and I remember the lady saying we made a new team for her call Junior prep and I remember when she said that my heart sank and she explained that Marc0 and the other dance teachers made a team which only included me which at nine years old was so sad do you think that I was on a team that only included me and they said I wouldn't be able to compete in their group dances but I would be able to do the one dance that the whole entire production was in competitions which was called the production dance so it was barley even a real dance my mom took me home and you can expect the whole ride home I was bawling my eyes out I couldn't stop crying because my dream that I just accomplished was a lie they got my hopes up and then brought them right back down but we got home and my mom asked if I still wanted to do that and at the time I did, but looking back on it now I wish I never would've done that, it was the worst mistake of my life and I'm not exaggerating that was the worst mistake I could have ever made for myself confidence myself love and my self worth. read more
