Due to the Covid-19 environment, it took awhile to schedule a firm date when Encore could come over to see my house in May 2020. I had interviewed 2 other stagers prior to Encore, but when we finally I knew without a doubt that Vanessa and her team were the ones to do our home. The house is large and sprawling with additions that we've done over the years including a cottage at the rear. Some parts are older and some are new/modern. It needed a high level of creativity plus an artistic eye in order to pull everything together and present a cohesive design style. Vanessa brought over her top designer and the 2 of them together went through the house with a fine tooth comb taking pictures and making notes of how they could present each room and space to its best advantage. The end result was a beautiful masterpiece! She created unique spaces that were inviting, fun, and really imaginative like our "Teen Hang-out Deck" (photo here), and made the cottage entrance look so inviting that you couldn't wait to walk-in to see the inside. Hands down the best service and sleek and trendy design that really does stand out vs. other stagers :-) What I appreciate most is Vanessa's proactive attention to small things without being asked about them, from suggesting to cut a hedge to open up a home's entry to moving Seller's items to a garage in a compact way where the space is still usable to hiding bathroom items in a closet so the home is picture-ready for the photographer, saving the listing agent a trip. She's very accommodating with the schedule when Sellers push out and is happy to provide suggestions from wall paint colors to which light fixtures would make a room look taller. The staging design itself is absolutely spot on every time and is done in a way that accomplishes highlighting a home's features and opening it up. As a Realtor, the buck stops with me, which is why it is imperative that I choose vendors that I can count on to show up and do good work. A couple of weeks ago, I was sitting in my car outside my listing having just gotten the approval from my clients to stage the home as we were about to go on the market in five days. Let me say that again - 5 Days! I called a couple referrals and they were almost insulted that I would expect them to insist on such a short timeline, quoting me more cost to do a rush job and/or simply declining to do it. In a mild panic, I went to Yelp and starting scrolling. Of course, there is the company that has 371 5-star reviews who, I thought, would probably give me the same answers I had already received from the referrals. Then, there were the companies that had quite a few negative reviews and some bad pictures displaying their "work". Then I stumbled upon Vanessa and Encore Staging that had great pictures displaying her work and a solid number of all 5-star reviews. After a 5 minute search, I called Vanessa and it went to voicemail. I loved the pictures and I felt compelled to go to the website and press forward to book an appointment online. Not even 30 seconds later, Vanessa called me back and that was that. She immediately put me at ease with her calm, professional and reassuring style. She was very understanding about my time-frame and willing to meet me at my listing in a matter of hours which I could not do. Even while juggling other jobs, she met me the next morning and also had her partner who handles the moving team come to the meeting as well. Vanessa went to work. She put together a winning design package for me and my clients and was even willing to work with our budget which is great thing when your sellers have already spent a lot of money getting their home market ready. On the following Monday at Noon, Vanessa showed up with lunch for me, the movers and the design team. The design team was very friendly and so was the moving team. I could tell that they all enjoyed working with and for Vanessa. Vanessa and her team left the home beautifully staged that day. I was able to go in that evening and review the work and I was knocked out. I could tell that Vanessa didn't just throw a bunch of furniture in the home that looks like other listings. It was the extra touches like the room that was staged to be a playroom with little toys on the table that looked like they had just been played with or the teddy bear sitting on a chair in another child's room. She even staged the porch to look festive for the Fall. There was a warmth to the design that made the home feel like "home" and not just a house on the market. That Wednesday, I opened for the broker tour and had some of the most experienced, veteran brokers and agents from all over Silicon Valley come through the house and received a ton of positive feedback on the home, the improvements that we had made, the asking price, and how well it was staged. One agent who has been in the business since the 70's said that he learned the hard way, many years ago that not staging is a mistake and that I had made the right move staging the home. That weekend, I opened the home on Saturday and Sunday and got an immense turnout and a ton of positive response to how great the home looked. People had obviously seen the home pictures online and desired to tour it. Without the staging, the house looked good. With the staging the house looked finished and amazing. Vanessa's design and artistic approach brought out the beauty in the home which I believe enhanced the experience of folks previewing the home tremendously. So, in a down market with houses sitting on the market for long periods of time and at a traditionally slow time of year for the Real Estate market, we got multiple offers and went in to contract for way over asking at the end of the following week. We went on and off the market in 1 week! Vanessa was dependable and trustworthy. She was artistic and creative. She was professional and real. At this point, I will call her for my staging needs. She wasn't just professional and great at her work, she was very real, friendly, and generous in a way that most people are not.
