Really good rv resort in Yuma. The people in the office are very nice and helpful for anything you need. Very clean and well kept. They have large spots for me to fit my 44' rv in no problem. In a nice area of Yuma and close to a very tourist friendly city in Mexico. Walmart is next door to the lot, so you can walk and get groceries and they return the cart for you. The biggest downside is that it's directly across the street from an airport. So, you can expect to hear fighter jets and helicopters that can get pretty loud throughout the day. We stayed here for 6 days, 1st week of February 2030. Large park. Friendly staff, escort to your site by 2 in a golf cart, so one could hop out and watch your swing when turning. Transient sites are tight, but long, 70+'. The park makes every effort to only use every other site whenever possible. Heated pool and hot tub. Able to receive mail. Close to everything. Given a booklet explaining how to travel into Mexico that was very informative. Across from airbase so you can watch the jets. Dog walk in park. Able to walk to the Walmart for items, return with your cart that you leave at the edge of site and is collected. We traveled in a 40', 4 slide motorhome towing enclosed 14' trailer that we were able to keep on site. Pull in but back out. read more

We have an annual site at this park. Yes it is an older park but the location is great. Wall Mart right out the back gate. Airport across the street. We have joined the golf group and side by side group in the park. If you come in April or May it is fairly empty because it gets to hot by then. The staff here are wonderful. read more

This large RV park is the warm weather home of a couple hundred snowbirds from the north. They have a clubhouse with daily activities (Bingo on Wednesday nights!) , swimming pool, hot tub, shuffleboard, laundtry facilities, computer club, all kinds of exercise classes and group outings. Pets are welcome, though they must be on a leash, and there is a dog exercise area on-site. On the adjacent property is a 1/4 mile walking track for staying fit. Walmart is next door, and you can even drive a golf cart over, just follow the path and park in the special spots by the garden. Conveniently located just across from Yuma International Airport, it is easy for friends and family to fly in for visit. There are a few manufactured homes installed in the park along the perimeter and some park models but the majority of units are RVs that have installed for the long-term, and some pull through spaces for those traveling with their RVs. read more

This was one of the most disappointing RV places we have ever stayed at. I gave one star for the manager. The description does not in any way match what you get! It was basically a gravel parking lot, no shade, picnic tables or fire pit. All the amenities were closed and the pool was tiny. They do not tell you that you are practically on the Airport runway and when the planes land it literally shakes your entire RV. read more

This is one of the smaller Encore parks that we've visited but it was absolutely wonderful. My wife and I stayed in full hookup site # 920 for 2 weeks and it was level and comfortable. Staff member Wayne and his wife Kathy escorted us to our site after check-in. I explained that we could easily back in ourselves but Wayne stated that park policy requires that he assist with this process. Now that is great customer service! Our only minor complaint was that the sewer connection was at the far back of the site. We had to hook 2 hoses together to reach it. The manager is named Lin and he was very friendly. Another office staff member named Sue helped us find local places of interest. I really cannot say enough about the excellent folks at Suni Sands. Everyone has a positive attitude and they are always willing to help. The park is located right next to a Walmart which is easily accessed through a secured gate. Here is the best part: the staff will pickup your shopping cart at your site and then return it free of charge. Talk about convenience! Free wifi is available at the main building and pool and it was pretty good. My AT&T phone had 3 bars and the hotspot worked great. A large oval walking/running path is located right next to the park so exercise is an option. There is a recycling bin for aluminum cans, cardboard and plastic (no glass.) Reverse osmosis water refills are available at the office for only 25 cents per gallon. Bathrooms and showers are clean and well-maintained. The pool looked fantastic but we didn't try it. You have to buy a $5.00 laundry card and then load money on it to use the washers & dryers. The refill machine was temporarily out of order but one of the full-time residents offered to let me use her card for free. I didn't accept but holy smokes her kind offer was incredibly generous! The Los Algodones Mexico border crossing is about 25 minutes away. We paid $6.00 to park on the U.S. side and then walked across. Yes a Naval Air base is located near the park and the jets are definitely loud, but they don't fly at night and it's only a few minutes of inconvenience each time. We actually enjoyed watching the aircraft fly around. Thank you Lin and team for an incredible stay!!! read more

Very disappointing. The pictures on the website do not look like this place. We were basically in a gravel parking lot with hookups. The office people were friendly.. I was advised WiFi was only around the office otherwise I had to pay. Cable is advertised but we did not have it at our site. For our last night on the road after a six week cross country trip a big let down! read more

The only thing saving this from one star is a courteous checkin and the cheap rate. This place was practically empty and we got a site which barely fit our rig. Cigarette butts on our site. Yuck. Airport noise across the street. Never again. Keep going on I-8 and find anything else. read more

Staff here is the best we ever experienced, from Monica to Larry to Dick the manager, all very good!! The #1 problem here is jet engine noise from military aircraft, Harrier jets so loud you can not talk or watch a movie till after 10 PM most nights!!! And it is getting worse, the military added new Harrier jets to the fleet, so now the problem is much worse, we stayed for a month and could not wait to leave and regain our sanity This is of course not the fault of the Suni Sands resort, it has nothing to do with them, but it is so bad with the noise that you literally have to be deaf to enjoy this place. Too bad, and sad, but the problem is now worse then it ever was, we met many people along our travels that had stayed at Suni Sands, all said no way they would ever return if the jets were flying so close to the resort. read more

I have nothing but good things to say. From the park manager to sue the front office lady short story my partner and I needed to come there because his father was going to the hospital I saw that it was 55 and over and we are only in her 30s but they went on ahead and made an exception for us give us an excellent deal for the week and can truly not express our appreciation for the way we were treated going through a very difficult time. I would recommend this park for their friendliness cleanliness and just good manner. They were very accommodating in a time of need thank you very much sincerely Johnny and Robert:)) read more

I never got to stay at Suni Sands, but did get to inter act with management. After a booking mistake and having to cancel, they returned my deposit with NO PROBLEM. They were so polite and professional business people. They're booking agent, Reserve America is a double dealing sham outfit. When I made the off season reservation, I asked RA about the cancelling policy. I had a small TV issue to repair before I could travel. The agent said no penalty to cancel. I called to cancel and was told there was a $ 45 fee, then Kiki, a supervisor got on the phone and said the fee was $ 25 and it is on their website. We have 2 problems here. First I used my Passport America book with no policy stated and the booking agent said no fee to cancel, they wouldn't charge my card till checkin. I contacted PA, and spoke with Lindsly who promised a call the next day. Three days later another PA person called ( Tiffiny ?) with a boat load of excuses and no solutions. After explaining the entire story to her, she was protective of RA and implying I was wrong as it is supposedly on their website. I can't find it. She also stated that PA doesn't get involved with reservation complaints. She then called back a little later stating my deposit was refunded, like PA or RA was doing me a favor and resolved the problem. THE PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED BY SUNI SANDS MANAGEMENT. They offered to refund my money with a 30 second conversation, and did. They value customer service and appreciate people, check them out when in Yuma STAY AWAY FROM RESERVE AMERICA and re-evaluate passport america membership.
