I was certain I had a slipped disc or something, but the doctor recommended physical therapy. I was skeptical, but determined to do my due diligence. After coming for six weeks though, I am now a huge believer in PT. The therapists were able to get me relief and teach me how to do exercises that were safe for the baby and helped ease my back pain. In 2017 I came for knee issues after overtraining for the cap 10k. I came again this past year when I developed bursitis in my hip. Each time I have been injured I visit until I have consistent relief and then I discontinue therapy sessions and continue the work at home. I have only had to come the full six weeks once (that was when I was pregnant). Integra is totally cool with this because the whole point of PT is to get better. They don't pressure you to add extra unnecessary sessions. The first visit is an evaluation where they take a look at your issue, test range of motion, ask you about your pain levels and determine a treatment plan. Different injuries require different levels of treatment, more severe issues could result in multiple visits a week but most of mine have been once a week. After the eval, sessions usually consist of a 30 minute exercise session where a therapist walks you through good exercises you can do to strengthen your body in the area where you're injured and making sure you don't end up with any compensatory injuries. The second half of the session is usually some form of physical manipulation, for example, when I had bad back pain the second half was the therapist working out the tension in my upper back muscles. I would call it massage but it was not relaxing. It did, however, (eventually) result in relief of pain. I recently brought my 10 year old in for a knee injury and learned she has hyper mobile joints and weak hip adductors which can be a risk factor for injuries, so we will be working on strength and stability. You need rehab? Go to these guys…read more One year after undergoing two knee replacement surgeries and I've spent the morning enjoying a hike in Spicewood Valley Trail. This would not have happened without the care, education, and attention given to me by Round Rock Rehab before and after surgery. My appointments with Matt began several weeks before surgery, building up strength in preparation--and if your surgeon hasn't recommended doing this, ask them about it. He spent a lot of time with me during our appointments and helped me to understand why and how I should be continuing to train in between our sessions. After the surgery, we picked up right where we left off -- and it felt like I was able to do more, more quickly, because of that prep time. Matt very patiently walked me through not just an escalating set of strength exercises but a wide variety of exercises that built up and supported full-body strength development and health. If I reached a plateau, he worked me to find a path forward that got me gaining strength again. If I had experienced irritation or pushed myself too far, he sorted me right out with rest and a mini-treatment plan. No matter where I was in my recovery cycle, he was right there with me. And if Matt was out for a time, I got the same high-quality support from Brad and Michelle. ...and the entire team of assistants! Mike and Serena and...well, just everyone made me feel like I wasn't just someone coming in...I was part of an extended family where everyone's purpose was to help me recover. After filling out at least 10 forms, first in the office, then online, then again in the office I got one appointment. The office then canceled my second appointment and rescheduled, then canceled that one. When I came in at the re re scheduled time I found that they canceled all my appointments. I got assigned a junior therapist if you can even call him that. Maybe he was a college intern? Was not professional at all. The session started off with" take a lap around the room " which he didn't watch my gait or pain. No he went and started helping someone on a machine. I was like why am I walking around a room? Very Strange. Then he asked me 4 questions. Pain level. When it hurts. How long. What I've been doing for it. (I've had this before). After 3 minutes wants to diagnose that it's an ankle problem. I said no it's not in my ankles. Then he says it's a tight back. I say no it isn't. He says it was for one other of his clients so it probably is for me. I try to tell him that I stretch my back and hips daily prior to weight lifting. I have a dance background and did mat Pilates and CrossFit for 15 years. I know stretching. I tried to show him the hip and back stretches that I do and he stopped me. He stood me up and did a calf stretch on a wedge. I told him I do this one several times a day. He asked how often I stretch in a day. I said I didn't know maybe 4? He said I needed to do 6-8. Whatever dude. You're grasping on things to say because you don't know. He never asked me my fitness level? What activities do I do in a day? How many miles I walk in a day? What my strength training schedule is? What my weight lifting lifts are that I do weekly? What shoes I wear? What stretches before or after training? How often I train? SO many other questions he could have asked but He then says maybe I should GO TO A PODIATRIST for a steroid shot. Kid you not!!! Within 4 minutes of being there was told to go to a different doctor for a steroid shot. Umm isn't that why I came to a physical therapist so I don't have to resort to something like that (which I am adamantly against). No F ING way would I ever get a steroid shot. Couldn't pay me. The owner is a smart guy. If you make an appointment here make sure it's with the owner and not a junior therapist that needs to go back to PT school.

Unfortunately, PAM was not up for the challenge. The nursing and tech staff were good enough. We enjoyed Cyndi, the Sarahs and Meliza especially. He had speech therapy every day. He had OT a few days and PT even less. So much less that in his discharge paperwork, the PT sign off was left blank. They couldn't even attest as to any level of progress. And PT was the main reason he was there. I inquired with scheduling and they said they were short staffed. I reached out to the CEO who came to his room and said she'd look into it and get back to me. Again, sadly no follow through. The OT intimated that he was difficult to work with and that may have been what PT encountered also - so blaming my husband for PT not coming? Really? I'm not saying my husband is the easiest guy in the world to work with but at least show up. I've already had one occasion to steer others clear of the disappointing results we saw and will continue to do so.

I was a patient at Pam Rehabilitation Hospital after surgery…read more The staff told me they could handle all my medical needs, but when I developed a painful rash that turned into an infection, they refused to let me go to the ER or follow my surgeon's orders. My surgeon had prescribed two important medications -- one for nerve-endin' pain and another to treat the rash before it became infected. The hospital removed both prescriptions and substituted ineffective treatments. The caseworker told me they were giving me the same medicine, but that wasn't true. Their own documentation confirms this. Because my nerve-endin' pain medication was withheld and the infection worsened, the pain became unbearable. My skin grew so sensitive that even a brush of fabric or a breeze caused me to scream in pain. Instead of helping, some staff made fun of me and yelled at me for reacting -- even though their neglect caused the problem. They also refused to provide the pain medicine immediately, even in that situation. I have documents and photos showing the difference in care, including pictures of my incision site two days after arrival and again five days later, clearly showing how the infection spread. Once I left and received the correct medications from my surgeon, the rash and pain began to improve right away. Please Look at the proof attached of the actual type of care they give before using Pam Rehabilitation Hospital for post-surgical recovery or wound care
