As far as the actual product, I wish more people understood the shakes aren't "healthy". They tout high protein and low calorie but with that comes sugar additives. I stopped in to check it out and the space itself is nice. It's brightly lit, clean, there's couches to hang out, and a bar to sit at while the "barista" explains the process. (She was super friendly and attentive.) For $8 you get a shot of aloe, a tea of your choice, and a gigantic meal replacement shake with tons of flavors to choose from..like brownie batter, snickers, wedding cake, Oreo peanut butter, etc. Make sure to mention it's your first time for $1 off, though. There is something about Energizing Mission that keeps me coming back. I'm not sure if it's that it makes me feel healthy, or that it's right by Sylvester Powell. Maybe it's that I live close and seemingly everyone I've ever met has a punch card there. Whatever it is, I'm happy with it. A less intense version of Smoothie King, I feel that Energizing Missions gives quite a lot to drink for what you pay. I'd say it could be more reasonably priced but the portions are large and I feel good about myself after. I was surprised to find that the first time I went there weren't any fruit based drinks. It makes sense given that the powder they use is typically on the sweeter, chocolate/vanilla, side but when I think healthy drinks I often think of fruit. Needless to say, I have enjoyed most every option that I've gotten. Still waiting for the tea to be a little bit more flavorful but I'm going to try a few more flavors before my mind is made up about this. My only issue with Energizing Mission is that if you happen to walk in during a busy hour or day, it's going to be a while. These girls are, at most, early college aged and all of their friends know that they work there. They'll sit there and talk with their friends and forget about your order if you're not watching. Don't come in here expecting to get a no-fanfare solid protein shake with low to no sugar. There is a required three step process that sells you an "aloe shot", flavored tea (three "levels"), plus your shake. Shakes might as well be named after donuts-- cake, candy, French toast, brownie, etc. Clerk claimed "healthy" but could not provide a sugar amount in grams that I could trust nor macro nutrient amounts. Lots of frills, atmosphere, pomp, and circumstance here. I was required to fill out a survey form with address, phone, name, etc. The other reviewer who indicates a "high school" feel is also accurate. This place uses Herbalife protein powder which is the farthest thing from healthy!! Herbalife is also just a big pyramid scheme. The shakes are highly processed and contain all sorts of harmful chemicals. The CEO of Herbalife literally DIED after drinking the shakes. Google it. It's banned in several countries. Had high expectations going in from having Herbalife shakes before. This place is the WORST. The shakes were watery, not mixed well, and lacked flavor. The environment was borderline high school, music blasting, and unprofessional. The workers didn't greet us or explain how to order at all. We had to figure that out ourselves. They came off super rude like they were better than everyone else and immediately turned me off from wanting to buy from them. Worst $8 I've spent and will not be returning. I go to energizing at least 4 times a week and it feels like home. The shakes are incredible (my favorite being Oreo Peanut Butter or the Wedding Cake shake) and the tea and aloe are good as well!! 100% recommend. read more

I wish I could like this place. I love the shakes, but the service is shockingly horrible. They leave it in the hands of a bunch of high school girls who literally ignore you and make you feel uncomfortable just trying to get their attention to place an order. I've been several times and it only gets worse every time. Recently, I actually had to walk out because I waited 15-20 minutes just to place my order and it wasn't even that busy. The employees paid attention to their friends instead of me. They could've at least said, "I'll be with you in a moment." I had to throw away my order sheet and walk out empty-handed and they still didn't acknowledge me. Absolutely ridiculous. They're overpriced too but that's not my biggest issue with the place. Management really needs to talk to their employees about customer service or, I don't know, just being decent human beings... otherwise, I can't see this business lasting too long. I have been coming to Energizing mission for years! I absolutely love it here. The owner and employees do such a great job of remembering the regulars and acknowledging people when they walk in the door. The protein shakes are so healthy and they have such delicious flavors! If you enjoy protein shakes and want to be fit this place is for you! You get an aloe shot, a tea, and a shake all for $8 which a great price for all that! I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone because it's so worth trying. The shakes are extremely healthy and contain no sugar but still taste amazing. I stopped by Energizing Mission the other day looking for a place to get a high quality smoothie. This is definitely the place. They don't have the sugary ones you find at other smoothie joints, only the really healthy stuff here. They also design personalized wellness plans and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I really wanted to like this place, especially since it's a 2 minute walk from my apartment. I walked in for the first time and had no idea what to do. Staff didn't welcome or show me how to order, I just had to watch people and figure it out. No prices or nutrition facts could be found on menu or website. Shake and tea were ok, but I could tell they contained quite a bit of sugar and probably actually aren't that healthy. I still don't know how much they charged, no receipt was given. If I could rate this place a zero, I would. I received a coupon to try this place for free and was super excited to try it. When I got here, right away I was not impressed because nobody greeted me and all I got were strange looks from everyone behind the counter. I stood there for a moment before a girl came up to take my order. I opted out of the aloe shot because I'm pregnant and was told by my doctor that it can be harmful for the baby to drink aloe supplements/juices. She argued with me and said "oh all our other pregnant women drink it" ...ok, that doesn't change my mind but good for them. Then she went on to explain the teas and made a snarky comment about how the tea had caffeine so I might want to opt out of the tea as well since I'm pregnant. When she told me about the shakes, she seemed impatient and irritated that I didn't know which shake I wanted, like give me a break lady I've never been here before!!! After she made the shake she aggressively slid the shake on the counter over towards me. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this establishment. And I highly recommend pregnant women stay away as well unless you want to be judged. I might as well add that the tea tasted like water and the shake wasn't very good either. read more
