Unlike sportchek that are staffed with students who can share their experience when you shop, you have legit "grownups" who actually do these sports and so they can tell you how to buy, how to use and give you the confidence in your purchase. And this is what you want, I bet your a first time buyer looking for guidance. I really wish I bought my gear here because when I went to sportchek....it was an overwhelming what am supposed to do and frequent glances to google on my phone. I was first able to use the skis on a trip to Lake Tahoe in 2024. I found the skis very hard to ski on. They were way too long given my skill level. I used them a total of four days and ended up selling them on Face Book market place for less than half of what I paid for them. I went to Skiis and Biikes before our Whistler trip in January and they recommended Völkl Peregrine 165cm which worked out great.

I was in the ski shop business for 25+ years and have shipped and received many pairs of skis and always we made sure that the equipment was properly protected during shipping. I'm surprised that they don't understand how to ship products correctly. Is not very hard. Yes they have good prices but if they don't ship it properly then it costs more with returns and warranty issues etc.

Women's jackets were heavily discounted and when my cousin found one she liked on the mannequin but couldn't find any on the racks we asked a sales associate for assistance. Natalia was super helpful and friendly. She checked and there weren't any left in the size my cousin needed except for the one that the mannequin was wearing. Natalia asked and was given permission to take the jacket off the mannequin for my cousin to try on. Good thing because it fit perfectly. This jacket was one of those that was heavily discounted and such a steal. When we wandered over to where the helmets were there wasn't much selection left. Between the children and adult sized helmets there was probably less than ten left on the shelves. It was definitely slim pickings. We tried a few on and asked another associate some questions before we each decided on a helmet. Natalia made the whole experience of shopping at Sport Chek a 5 star experience for sure!

We knew we had to make a trip to Sport Chek before our big ski trip but hadn't stopped in yet. We were meandering around the border of Mississauga and Oakville when I saw the Sport Check in this plaza. I'm actually still not sure if this Sport Chek is an outlet or just a giant store. They did have a bunch of clearance items but that might be because of the "end of winter" (like it's going to end anytime soon lol) sales that were going on. This Sport Chek is so big it has an entire Atmosphere wing where all the camping stuff is. We were able to find the ski/snowboard section which had really been picked through. Helmets seem to really be in demand these days. I remember when I was a kid (yeah back in my day!) no one wore helmets. There were only a few kids helmets on one shelf and on the other side, opened boxes/loose helmets that were men's only. I was lucky enough to find a medium one that was placed in the wrong box. There was no matching of the box to the prices that were actually displayed on the wall. I just went for it with this one and it came out to be $140 which wasn't bad at all. The sales were actually pretty fantastic! There was one jacket that really caught my eye but a darn mannequin was hogging it. I searched the nearby area for it but no luck. I found an employee nearby and asked for help. Natalia was amazing! She was able to scan the jacket on her handy terminal and let me know that all of the surrounding stores were sold out and that indeed, the mannequin was wearing the very last one that happened to be in my size. She radioed her team to make sure it was okay to undress the mannequin and tackled the problem of getting the jacket off of her. After a bit of struggle (and my moral support), the jacket was mine! I really appreciated her help with this - it was awesome. Since it was such a mission to even get the jacket I had pretty much decided I was going to get it regardless of the price. Well at checkout I found it was $400....but on sale for $150!!! Definitely made my day.

I didn't expect much more than a short browse session, but Christian was eager to provide whatever information I needed and helped me to examine more products than I would have guessed going in. Not for a moment did I feel rushed and all the info he gave me was with great interest in my needs. Not only is Christian obviously very knowledgeable but he is also a prime example of superior customer service. In fact, we even went beyond closing time which I very much appreciated. At the end of it all I ended up purchasing a number of items... all when I expected to merely look around. Well done Christian! I lowered the rating by 1 point for a somewhat limited selection of top line items. But for value, incredible!

Good selection of skates. Not understaffed but the staff seem to want to screw around in the back…read morethan help people. Customer next to me were a couple with 2 kids, they had NO idea what they were doing when it came to outfitting their kids for skates. The staff member who was helping them walked away and started ringing a customer through at the second till. There were only 2 other people in the line. It could have waited and he should have finished helping the customers. I helped them as I have experience and was outfitting my GF's son for hockey equipment. For the fact that they had 3 people on the skate sharpener there should not have been as long a line up as there was. One of the people sharpening skates left it to adjust a helmet. The staff needs to get the whole customer service thing down pact. They have a captive audience/customer base in Milton yet they don't utilize it with epic customer service and deals that would rival Canadian Tire, Walmart and Sport Chek. Customer service will beat the snot out of price points every time. The owners need to realize this before the people of Milton wise up like so many others. Survival has many angles and they need to use what they already have before it's an empty building.

A week later they tell me the one in stock is damaged and they cant repair it so they need to order another from their Ottawa store. Another week later they tell me the second one is also damaged and they cant repair it. Seriously, if they cant get two brand new bikes working, heaven help you if you brought them in one that was actually damaged to fix. I asked them to follow up with Cannon, the manufacture, but that was like a month ago and still no follow up. My riding season is off to a great start...not, thanks for nothing MEC.

The jacket arrived yesterday via Canada Post (free shipping) and I'm now set with my 3rd Gore-Tex coat in 30 years. It's a fantastic all-weather material if you maintain it. Thank you MEC!

While looking around, we saw a clothing rack with a lot of clothing on sale. Sifting through it, I found a couple items to try on. There weren't any employees by the fitting rooms, though. I had to ask another employee to find the one working in that particular section to unlock the changing room door. The employee that came was apologetic, as she was on the far side of that section. When it came time to pay, there was one customer at the counter talking through something with the cashier, and it seemed like it would take a while. There was another customer in front of us in line, and she had many items. We ended up going upstairs to the cashier on the ground floor.

The first LL Bean store to open in Canada was this one in Oakville. If my memory serves me well, it was Summer 2019 when it opened its doors. I was recently in Oakville. I was at Oakville Place for the first time. I saw this store. I was happy. Over four years later, I made the pilgrimage to this store. It wasn't intentional, though. I just happened to need a Shoppers Drug Mart, which was steps away from this store. I became an LL Bean fan during my undergraduate years. For some unknown reason, I got its catalogue in the mail. I loved it so much. My first purchase was a purple pair of Mary Jane suede shoes from Rieker. I loved them so much that I grew to love LL Bean t-shirts and more. I was thrilled that my first LL Bean store that I frequented was its flagship store in Freeport, ME. I did a road trip eastbound through Canada and returned through the States. The flagship store was incredible, with its huge signature boot in front of the store. I have visited Canadian LL Bean stores in Barrie, Ottawa, and now, Oakville. I didn't feel the same excitement as I did getting products stateside. Maybe it's the price. I am a different shopper who likes deals and sales. I have rarely seen any decent discounts on products that I want at Canadian locations, including this one. I loved looking at branded tumblers, cute t-shirts, comfy hoodies, and more. Paying $75 for a t-shirt is frankly ridiculous. You want to be in the corners of this store. Clearance items are there. The back left corner had women's clothing discounted at 40% off. It's decent. Sadly, I didn't find anything in this corner that I wanted to buy. I did enjoy checking out the handbags, travel items, and luggage section. Prices weren't cheap, but I liked them. If you love YETI products, you have a fine selection here. Coolers. Tumblers. Ice chests. I saw so many accessories just for its drinkware. It was fascinating. You do pay for quality. Be prepared to shell out. Surprise! Out of all the LL Bean stores in Canada, I only bought items at the Ottawa location. I was there to partake in a Canada Day sale and there were more products on sale. I wish that there were a similar sale when I was at this store. They have a lot of camping supplies like tents, waterproof blankets and bags, and iconic games that you would play at camp (cornhole for one). Some other camp/cottage activities that they also had were kayaks and paddleboards, both the inflatable ones and the hard ones. They had a huge selection of Yeti mugs and all of these were included in the 10% discount. There were some that I haven't seen before, including one that can keep your cans insulated! When my partner and I walked in, we were immediately impressed with how clean and organized it looked compared to any other fitness depot we have visited. Staff seemed friendly and helpful. We also met the owner, Mark. He took the initiative to introduce himself upon us entering. Offered excellent customer service. He was friendly and professional and took the time to listen, educate us on products we were interested in and give us recommendations. The price is also right. Not trying to sound like a commercial here but I felt impelled to write this review based on our positive visit. This place deserves a five star for the NEW ADMINISTRATION. Thus far the best fitness depot I've ever visited. Two thumbs up guys! Totally worth the trip! Will visit again and so should you!
