California Solar & Electric

California Solar and Electric. CS&E is simply the best. Call Mark Howe. Honest, reliable,…read moreprofessional, skilled and highly competitive. Best warranty and quality materials and labor. 949 637-9108. They are out of Santa Clarita. We are so happy and satisfied with our system and our bills have gone from $300 plus a month to less than $40 a month. Also when the power has gone out in our neighborhood the battery backup has saved the day. Stellar value, workmanship, professionalism and service plus a 25 year warranty. Highly recommended

California Solar and Electric was great to work with. But I wanted to provide a more detailed…read morereview than I normally do as this was a bit more complicated than just going out to dinner. At my old home I had solar installed without any kind of battery backup as at the time battery backup was really not an option. Solar was pretty good but did not provide me with a zero bill. When I sold that home and moved into my new home the cost was more than I wanted to spend. Fast forward three years and prices have come down and with the federal tax credit expiring I decided to make the investment as the cost of electricity seems to keep going up. I wanted to go with Tesla as being a big company I thought they would be a good choice. The first problem I had with them is you can't reach a person to talk to. And for the amount of money this costs I was not really comfortable, however I moved on and paid a deposit and started the process in September of 2025. When I finally was able to speak with a person they told me that they could not guarantee that they could complete the installation by the December 31, 2025 deadline, really 4 months of lead time? I canceled Tesla and looked around at my other options. Shelter came to my home and we spoke. They were knowledgeable and the salesperson was really nice, however their price was a huge difference from the other two quotes that I received. Quantium was another company that I spoke with, and I was ready to use them as they were much bigger than California Solar and I thought that might be a better option, plus a neighbor had used them and were happy with them. However when I got the contract from them it basically stated that they wanted a $1000 deposit and if they found that I needed additional work and if I did not want to continue then I would loose my deposit, that seemed outrageous so I told them that I would not continue with them. Note that after I had decided to go with California Solar and Electric they told me they would give me the deposit back if that would happen, but by them I had already signed the contract with California Solar and Electric and honestly was happier with them at that point. I spoke to Mark Howe and he was excellent. I told him about Quantium and he sent me a copy of their contract and told me that they did not do that. His price was the same and the equipment was the similar. Note that they actually had to upgrade my solar panels and did not charge me any additional fees. They also did some additional work to allow more of my home to be backed up than their original quote. Mark told me that he could get the job done before the tax deadline so I signed with them. The process took a bit of time as we had to get permits and approval from the HOA. But the system was installed on time and fully completed well before the deadline. They actually worked on the installation during huge winds and rain. It did take a day or two longer to complete than what they originally thought. One of my batteries was bad out of the box and that created a bit of an issue but Henry was amazing and took care of everything quickly and professionally. He was even nice when I messed up and scanned a QR code that I thought would download a different app but it basically erased my home from my app. Note to self, double check before scanning QR codes. All in all the process was professional and was handled as quickly as possible. Communication was good even though they were swamped trying to get everyone installed before the end of the year (2025). Everyone that I dealt with was really nice and easy to work with. I think I must have driven Bella their wonderful assistant, crazy calling so often. Of course Henry had to deal with all of my questions which he handled and made me feel very comfortable. I would suggest that if you do decide to go solar, give California Solar and Electric a call and get a quote. Thanks for reading my lengthy review.

TL;DR: Rose is incredible. Honest, patient, actually knows solar and is not just a salesperson. She…read morewill answer every single question you may have and follows up. Has a professional installation crew and executes flawlessly and everything stays on track. Incredible follow-up and will not try to upsell you like other installers. If you're looking to install solar, you should absolutely go with OneSun. Give Rose a call to at least get a consultation and I'm sure your interaction will immediately stand out from other installers. Installing solar is something I kept putting off. When I found out that the tax credit would be going away at the end of 2025, I realized I couldn't put it off any longer. One of the reasons I kept waiting was how annoying solar reps were. Clearly just sales guys who didn't actually know anything about the equipment, technology, and process. I did a bit of research on local installers and OneSun came up a few times, all with nothing but great things to say and especially highlighted the installer's knowledge and patience. Before reaching out to OneSun, I informed myself as much as I could to the point that I knew what panels I wanted, size system, even what inverters I wanted installed. My first phone call with Rose immediately proved that all of the positive feedback I had read was for a reason. She took the time to actually listen to the specifics of my project, what I was looking for, and what questions I still had based on my research. She took the time to answer every question and even went into the technical details that I was interested in. It was clear that she was extremely familiar with not just the logistics, but also exactly how a solar system works as well as the technical details of all of the components in a system. She had my business after that first meeting but of course I still did my due diligence and got a quote from one other local installer which also had similar reviews. Although the sales rep was very nice, it was clear that he was just a sales rep and only reinforced why OneSun was the installer to go with. OneSun's pricing happened to be better but even if the other installer would have come in at a cheaper quote, I would have still chosen OneSun for the install. Rose started the permit process in July and made sure that everything stayed on track, especially since I wanted to make sure that the system be on before the end of the year in order to qualify for the tax credit. The timelines she provided were right on point and the install was scheduled for September. About a week before the install date, there was an unexpected problem. The panels that were originally planned for my install had gone completely out of stock. There had been some kind of manufacturing issue and those panel would not be coming back in stock for another couple of months which could push the project out to the following year. Rose let me know she could acquire slightly larger panels for the project and install it on schedule. I was about to ask what the additional cost for the larger panels would be, but before I was able to, she let me know that there would be no additional cost to me. I'm sure any other installer would have used the situation as leverage to add additional cost to the project. A testament to Rose's commitment to her customers. On installation day, the crew was professional and efficient. They completed everything in one day and made sure to keep everything as clean and organized as possible. Towards the end of the install, I had noticed that they ran one of the grounding wires out from the attic and down the face of the house where I had planned on completing another project in the near future. I knew that the wire would need to be redirected if it was left there so I asked the foreman if he could run it through a different path. Initially he felt like it would not be possible given the layout. I reached out to Rose just to make sure and see if she possibly had another solution. About 10 minutes later the foreman showed me another possible option which was much better for what I needed. It may have seemed like a small thing, but that was another instance in which I believe any other installer would have dismissed my request as pickiness and told me there was nothing else they could do. Rose took the time to speak with her foreman and truly assessed the situation to come up with a solution that fit my needs. It took LADWP about 6 weeks to get my meter installed and for my system to be turned on, but it was still well before the end of the year (and yes, I just got my tax refund with that hefty solar tax credit). It's rare to come across someone like Rose who is honest, patient, and who truly has her customer's best interest at heart. Combine that with impeccable execution and communication, and there is no one else I would recommend for a solar install project. In fact, my parents are considering a small project and I've already told them about Rose/OneSun.

When I first contemplated getting solar panels for our house, the entire process looked daunting. I…read moredidn't know anything about the technology or equipment and I felt ill prepared to make any decisions about what our house needed. There are so many companies out there, it's hard to know who to trust. As soon as I did a few online searches, I was flooded with emails and texts from multiple companies with high pressure sales pitches. One company charged me $350 to do a site survey, just to get a quote for the project, then came back with a revised quote adding $7000 to dig a trench for electrical wiring due to "the location" of our electrical panel. I found OneSun on a yelp search and as soon as I spoke with Rose Avakian, I knew my search was over. This company stands out from the others. There was no sales pitch, pressure, or upsell. Rose explained the technology and equipment in a way that made it understandable and approachable. When her team came to look at our place, they found no need to dig a trench and simply connected to our existing electrical panel. Had they needed to dig a trench, the price they quoted was nowhere near $7000.  From start to finish, the entire experience was transparent, seamless, professional and expedient. The attention to detail and care the team put into making sure everything was done right far exceeded my expectations. If you're looking to go solar, look no further than Rose and OneSun. This is truly the best company I've ever worked with!

We recently completed a full solar + battery installation with Treepublic, and overall it was a…read moregreat experience from start to finish. We did a lot of research going into this project and had a pretty specific vision of what we wanted -- including battery storage, system sizing, and long-term efficiency. The team was receptive to that from day one and worked with us instead of pushing a one-size-fits-all solution. Communication was solid throughout the process. As with any solar project, there were a lot of moving parts (permitting, inspections, utility coordination), but they kept things moving and were responsive whenever we had questions. Installation itself was clean and professional. The conduit runs and equipment placement were well done, and everything looks neat and intentional -- which definitely matters for a system you'll be living with long-term. We also appreciated how they handled the more complex parts of the project, including battery integration and working with LADWP for interconnection and net metering. That process can get confusing, but they helped guide it through to completion. System has been up and running smoothly, and we're already seeing the benefits in terms of reduced grid usage and better control over our energy. Shoutout to Omar and the team for getting us across the finish line. If you're looking for a company that's knowledgeable, flexible, and able to handle a more customized setup, Treepublic is a solid choice.

Updating my review as of June 2026…read more To Treepublic's credit, they recently reimbursed $707.85 in sales tax that we first brought to their attention in December 2025. Apparently there was "an error in a QuickBooks template," and we appreciate that correction. However, our project remains unresolved. One remaining issue involves a SoCalGas incentive of $3,569.25 (SGIP Project ID #SCG-SGIP-2024-5470). Since September 2024, we have repeatedly asked Treepublic to answer a small number of straightforward questions regarding this SGIP application and its cancellation history. Rather than summarize the matter here, I have attached a three-page timeline compiled from Treepublic's own emails and records. We will gladly update this review again when the project is fully resolved and the outstanding issues have been addressed.
