They offered no resolution and gave me no options. The front desk help just said sorry, the machine we need isn't here. They should have canceled earlier than 8 minutes prior to my appointment time. I would not recommend this dermatologist. My appointment was at 1030 I arrived at 1014, by 11am I still wasn't placed in a room! If you have time to waste then sign up here. Clearly they are over booking themselves at the patients cost. Also they are UNABLE to give you a itemized receipt at your visit. The front desk ladies were condescending and unable to problem solve. Had an exam that literally took 5 minutes. I was told by the PA there would be no charge because there was no service provided other then looking at my skin and recommended seeing a specialist. Few weeks later I receive a bill in the mail. I call the billing department who "will talk to the PA" and get back to me. 3 weeks go by, no call, no email. Once again I call the billing dept to check the status. The woman explains how they've supposedly sent 2 bills already and I haven't paid. She explains they'll take 10% off. So I still owe $40 for a PA who looked at me, says there's no treatment we can do, see a specialist. Verifies my address and I say ok re-send me the bill. 3 more weeks go by and I receive no bill. I call the billing dept for the 3rd time and the woman, very rudely, says they've sent it to collections. While I attempt to explain my situation she essentially says there's nothing she can do and ends the call. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Too bad can't give 0 stars. I created a yelp account just to write this review. I've never dealt with such a poorly run office before. Thank you for affecting my credit rating by sending a $40 bill to collections. I don't know what's worse the PA lying to my face that there will be no charge or the incompetent office staff who can't figure out how to send a bill in the mail. read more

Imagine our horror when we found 3 large bald patches of scalp on my daughter's scalp! Got an appointment relatively quickly with Brian Brinegar, the PA. He came in on time, addressed the issues and gave us our options. He included us in the process and answered all of our questions (yes there were alot and Yes, he was quick but he didn't need to spend an hour staring at her bald spots because that isn't going to make the hair grow back faster.) He spoke to us in a way that we could both understand without making either of us feel dumb for not "getting the medical lingo." I felt like I could actually ask a question and get an answer without feeling like he was annoyed or didn't have the time. Brian is extremely knowledgeable and overall, he knows his stuff!!!!!!!!!! His assistants were both very pleasant and walked us to check out. Overall, staff was was really nice and extremely patient, especially considering they were dealing with a panic and grief stricken young woman already in the process of looking at wigs to cover her hair loss. Now, the billing department yeah, they were of no help. In fact, I think they confused my daughter more. They seemed completely disinterested in taking my daughter's call. I was able to get a hold of Sarah who is the office manager at the Lindsay location. I cannot put into words how incredibly kind and knowledgeable she is . She explained the charges to my daughter and made sure her questions were answered. (charges were correct btw). She even went out of her way to check on my daughter's next scheduled appt. Most importantly, my daughter's hair is growing back thanks to Brian and his team!! I'll be scheduling the rest of the family for our yearly skin checks. I am a little disappointed with the service I received today. I had a follow up appointment to see how the progress was from the prescriptions (Elidel and Loprox Shampoo) that I was prescribed. I used these before with success since I have had this problem for 15 years. They do not take my insurance so I paid out of pocket. First visit was $115 which I did not have a problem paying since I received treatment. The doctor I saw wanted to see me in two weeks. I showed up today and my appointment consisted of looking at my face and asking me how everything was working. Everything was working fine, so what a waste of an appointment. Not only was this a waste of an appointment, they never disclosed to me a follow up appointment would cost $90 (considering I was paying out of pocket). Bad business practices will have a negative affect on your business, just an fyi! The doctor was nice and knowledgeable but why would I show up for a follow up appointment and pay $90 if everything is ok? Otherwise, I would not have made a follow up appointment if I knew I was going to be charge $90 to have a discussion with the doctor. read more

Although the waiting room isn't very impressive, the service I received was. I had a thorough exam on my entire body,. After a biopsy it was found I had a basal cell carcinoma on my head. An appointment was made and Dr Shiell a visiting surgeon from California, who operates monthly at this surgery, removed all the cancer. Although there were a lot of patients waiting for this op, we were all taken care of. Pizza was provided for lunch and coffee available. Some movies were shown during our wait. This particular procedure takes time but to go home cancer free was a great feeling. All the staff were very nice and took the time to make me feel confident and less worried about the procedure. If I could give no stars I would. It was great the Dr found that my husband was positive for melenoma but it was ridiculous it took them 4 months to tell us through a certified letter in the mail. Not only was I mad we found out through a letter 4 month later but the letter itself looked extremely unprofessional when you are telling someone they have cancer. It was hand written and looked like junk mail. I called them and asked them what was their deal and they said they have it in their records they tried calling me twice. We confirmed my phone number that I've had for 16 years. Pretty sure I'd remember a call or a voicemail that my husband has melenoma. The lady was weirdly understanding when I said I think we might go somewhere else. I am super nice and not confrontational so it almost sounded like she was saying I agree you should go someone where else. She said I understand and I'll immediately send the new place the records. It's hard because it's a good office but it sucks our experience ended so bad for us togo somewhere else. I don't usually leave reviews but when it comes down to your husband getting his ear cut off I think certain places deserve reviews :( read more

I have been a patient of English Dermatology for many years and I do not understand the negative reviews. Dr English is excellent and very thorough. He has diagnosed and removed my skin cancers and is very professional. I have never had to wait for long in his office. This is one of the best doctors offices in the valley. His staff is friendly and professional. I cannot imagine anyone having difficulty with this office. They are the best! read more

The PA saw was in a big hurry and didn't have time to address 2 problems I came in to be seen for. I have since found out the provides are required to see 30 patients a day. This can lead to poor quality in patient care and patients that will need, in my case, to seek help elsewhere. I have found out that providers aren't listening to you and suggest treatments that you have already tried and didn't work. Frustrating! What is next? A PA that passes out because she hadn't had time to eat or drink? read more

I have been a patient here for over a year. I have seen Dr. English twice for full body exam, Dr. Connoly for a growth near my collarbone and Dr. Paulson for a rash. I have never waited more than 10 minutes. Each doctor I saw spent time with me. The office is clean. On the contrary to reviews I've read here, the office staff is terrific. Went in for an extremely infected cyst on my back. Was seen by PA Brian who injected it with a steroid and sent me home without prescribing antibiotics or taking a biopsy of the material coming from the cyst. I was told to come back in one month for a follow up. The next week the cyst infection got extremely bad and painful and I was afraid that MRSA might be developing. I contacted English Dermatology and explained the situation and requested to see an MD about my issue and was told that I would need to wait over one week. So I went to an urgent care clinic in Gilbert where the NP at least provided a prescription for antibiotics. I thought that English Dermatology did not care about me or my predicament and misdiagnosed me the first time in their care. I do not recommend them. read more

I had a question at the beginning of my visit and at the end of my visit the staff at the front desk followed up with the answers I needed. My appointment with Brian was very pleasant. Not impressed! My husband went here to get a rash type thing that has been on his foot now for months and it is getting worse looked at. He spent more time in the waiting room than Brian the PA spent with him. Brian was arrogant, and didn't seem to care. He glanced down at his foot and said oh you need a steroid. My husband tried to get an explanation of what it was or possibly causing it (because is keeps coming back); Brian was short with his answers and sent my husband on his way. Don't go here. read more

Was a patient here for approximately 6 years and was quite satisfied w/Mary Connelly up until my last visit. No complaints about her but the office must have undergone changes because I was appalled at their new billing practices. I had skin tags removed and paid the cosmetic fee but prior to them doing them I pointed out to her and her assistant to check the site of a previous biopsy because I was on a blood thinner and didn't want them to do the removal if the previous site wasn't healing well .. no problem they went ahead with the procedure! So imagine when I was being billed for a medical consult for merely asking a question and not wanting any problems. Horrible people in billing kept rambling on that because I asked the question they had a right to bill the consult .. after they gladly took the cosmetic payment. I miss Mary but have not been back in a year! So be wary of what they charge you! read more

I had a great experience at English Dermatology. The staff was friendly and very helpful. In addition, the wait time was quick and painless. I was happy with my visit with PA- Brian Brinegar. He was knowledgeable and he listened to my concerns. He prescribed medications that cleared up my acne and he injected a raised spot on the back of my neck. The spot has since flattened out. I highly recommend Brian and his staff to anyone who is looking for a Dermatology office. read more

They hold your prescription hostage and won't give you refills unless you come in every 3 months. I only wanted to switch to a cheaper prescription for which I still have ONE MONTH on file and they want me to come in. Its all about the money. read more

I have seen Dr. English in the past and he seems good. Today I had to see Dr. Paulson... I am disappointed of his attitude towards me. Disregarding every concern I had about my moles and growths on my face and shoulders. I have reason to be concerned as my father had melanoma on his shoulder that had spread into his lung and eventually passed away from it. I will not see this doctor ever again and feel like I wasted time with him. He made me uncomfortable as well! read more

I am unfortunately very displeased with this office. It was my first time here and I saw Kristin. I made an appointment for a skin issue inside of my ear and was very clear about that when making my appointment. After paying my $50 co-pay and spending an hour in their office, the first thing Kristin says to me is that they don't have the proper tools(an ear scope) to see the issue. She then immediately said I would have to go see an ear nose and throat doctor. Although I understand, the person scheduling my appointment should be educated enough to know they wouldn't have had the proper tools to help me with my issue; that is not something I was aware of. English Dermatology has refused to refund my $50 saying that Kristin "diagnosed the issue and referred me to another specialist". I now have to pay another $50 to go see a different doctor... let's hope this one will ACTUALLY diagnose me. read more

The staff at the Lindsay location are rather rude. I just called for an appointment and the first unhappy desk person hung up on me. I called back and told the next person that someone hung up on me and she completely ignored what I said. Dr English will need to get his staff sorted else he'll be losing a lot of business. Also expect to wait over an hour past your scheduled appointment time, before you are even seen. There are plenty of other dermatologists in The Valley, go somewhere else that treats their customers with respect and appreciation (and makes an effort to be punctual). I saw Dr. Brian I don't recommend him. He treated me for fungus for 3 months and had me go back to do a recheck all he did was look at my feet. Did not give my anymore medication told me he could only give that med. for 3 months . I feel that was something that could of been told to me without even going to see him.
