Roswell Family Care was recommended to me by one of the Emergency Rooms in Roswell, and as it turns out they might be the only immediate med or urgent care facility in town. I called to get an estimate for splinter removal, and the young lady who answered the phone was very pleasant and informative. It would be $95 to see the doctor and not likely anything beyond that just for splinter removal. I was pleased to hear what I consider a reasonable fee for the service to be rendered. When I arrived, the young lady at the window was very nice, with a calm and patient demeanor. Some people are just naturally good with people, and I would place her in that category. After checking in I waited less than ten minutes to be ushered to an exam room for vitals and then just a couple minutes beyond that for the doctor to address the situation with the splinters. Dr. Vela was everything one could hope for in a physician--smart, kind, efficient, super-gentle, and obviously experienced. She knew precisely what to do and had all the splinters removed in a matter of two or three minutes. The staff is awesome, the price was fair, and the medical service was outstanding. Even though there were several people inside, they got us in a room within 30 mins. I was amazed at this clinic which is not an urgent care, can see an average of ATLEAST 80 patients before lunch. I think that is an enormous amount of people for one clinic, let alone in 4 hours. Some are angry when they walk in, because they may not see many people... remember, several may be waiting in their cars to be seen.

I have also had doctors that did not listen to me when I screamed at them to stop. Please, if you are able to, go to Artesia General instead if you can make the 45 minute drive. You will get so much better treatment there than you could anywhere else in Roswell. This hospital has only given me trauma. The last time I went, they did not tell me that I fractured my toe, I had to find out via my pcp. Along with this, they diagnosed me with an UTI and they did not even prescribe antibiotics.

Stay away I'll never go back there. I went there almost 2 years ago complaining of upper glutes…read more(buttock) pain. The PA there diagnosed me with a bulging disk (with an MRI she ordered confirming her original diagnosis she said) She prescribed me some methylprednisolone steroids (cortisone like medicine) referring me to their in house physical therapist (located in the same building) who after reviewing the same PA's diagnosis and doing her own exam concluded my pain was being caused by arthritis not a bulging disk. You can't make this up. Maybe we should have done a coin toss for the tiebreaker diagnosis? Just an idea (sarcasm) The examining PA telling me if the issue ever flared up again they would have to ,using X-ray guidance, inject a powerful anti-inflammatory medication directly into the epidural space in my back to reduce nerve root inflammation. Turns out it was all BS. I was suffering from neither a bulging disk nor arthritis issues but trigger point issues (muscle knots) which following appropriate treatment fixed my glute issues for good. The receptionist love to tell you "I don't know" instead of not being lazy and go figure out your concerns. Lastly it's a back and forth game with them. The receptionist will tell you "the ladies in the back didn't tell you?" And then the ladies from the back would say "the ladies up front didn't tell you?" The absolute worse clinic ever. I have worked in a clinic for two years before I moved to Roswell and I promise you we did not attend patients the way these absolute lazy with the worst attitudes do.
