I appreciate the speedy response and the fact that they came back and tried to fix the work. That was great customer service. I wish I could give them more stars. The ladies were very nice and responsive but the cleaning was not up to par. I scheduled a deep cleaning and when they were done there was still dirt on the floor, floor boards weren't even touched. Walls weren't wiped down, and the inside of the windows were not clean. They even left their cleaning material on my shower and it stained the tiles and grout. I was very clear on the amount of work they would have and they assured me that it wasn't a problem. They were pretty reasonable on the cost but if you aren't going to do all the work than its not worth it. So I finally upgraded my cleaning service. Like many I used to have a lady. She came around when I asked her to and told me all the supplies she needed. I'd pay her 50-60 bucks and she would come do a once over. Had to get rid of her when I caught her stealing my cleaning supplies. I was referred to English maids from a neighbor. I always assume they would be like $150 so I never bothered. But I eventually gave them a call. They charge me the minimum which was $69 for my place. 900 ft.². Small little condo. Yes it was slightly more than the lady I had, but these people bring all of their cleaning supplies. All you have to do is supply them with a vacuum cleaner. They came when I wasn't home. And stayed for nearly 2-3hours. I was unsure what to expect when I got home because I generally clean for the cleaning people. So I had no idea what they were doing for 2 1/2 hours. When I walked in my place was immaculate. I thought I did a good job cleaning but they did a lot better. They even brought their own trash bags. I couldn't believe how much better this person was then my previous. This is a legit company with the reputation it wants to keep. Not like some random person you know from someone else. I've been using English Maids biweekly for about a year now. I have been very pleased! They are very reasonably priced vs the competition and they do just as nice (actually probably nicer) of a job. I haven't needed to reiterate my expectations at all, and I haven't found anything left uncleaned. I feel completely comfortable letting them come into my home when we are not at home. We use them regularly. I've loved all of our experiences but one. If you have the option of having one or two maids, then I recommend getting one. I didn't feel like they got much accomplished when two came and they only have half of the time to clean your entire house. The price is great. I usually call when I am overwhelmed and need help, but I've never had a deep clean. They are a huge help. The five hour is probably the best for a home our size (2300 sq feet). Definitely leave them a tip. They have to clean all of your icky spots of the house( toilet, shower, etc.) The ladies I've had are not English. I think Polish or something of that nature, but very shy and quiet. That doesn't bother me at all because they do a good job. You'll need to tell them what you expect from them, but keep in mind that they do not do dishes or laundry so take care of that before they arrive. read more

I just had the worst experience with this company. They stated they ran out of time and left beds unmade, sinks, countertops and faucets uncleaned. The male cleaner started making racial remarks when I showed him spots they missed!!! The owner was very difficult to reach and when I pointed out that my expectations of the cleaning was what was written on their website, she argued with me. She also did a great job on cleaning and dusting every shelf and corner. I really wanted it to work because I wanted every two weeks with the company because of the great price and reviews I read. I mentioned to her that there are places she did not even dust and her response was that she has to go to her kids and she can't do everything. I was told over the phone if my place needed another hour I could do that but she is informing me that is not possible. I didn't mind the extra hour if that's what was needed. I was scheduled for 6 hours of deep cleaning not regular cleaning. My house is already on the cleaner side since I have someone clean every two weeks and some places were exactly the same. I left my home so she could be more comfortable but realized that the areas she cleaned were subpar compared to when I was home. If it was regular cleaning, it is understandable and a good job but I paid and specifically asked for deep cleaning. I'm sure she was trying to get everything done within her time frame, but if she couldn't do the things I asked her, then she should have left me know so I know what to expect or mention that she needs additional hours to finish the work. I would not have minded to pay extra hours so that it could have been thoroughly cleaned. I was informed I will get a discount on my next cleaning when I contacted them privately. I have still yet to hear from them and hopefully the second time around may be better. read more

English Maids came and cleaned my house yesterday, I have a busy family and it is really tough to keep the place clean. It was really embarrassingly dirty and I had family coming over in just a couple of days. I called on Thursday and they were able to get someone out very quickly. The cleaning person arrived on time and did an excellent job cleaning. they really wen't above and beyond to get my house clean and now it looks really nice. I have used this company for a number of years and they have never disappointed! Michelle the manager is very courteous and thorough EVERYTIME we speak. Her follow up with every service is something I have not experienced while using other cleaners. The workers who come to my home are always very nice and are not bothered by the 3 dogs we have following them around the whole time. If you are researching other cleaners you will find their prices are unmatched. For an 1800 sq foot home with 3 beds, 2.5 baths, and a partial finished basement, 3 other quotes from different companies could not come close to what we are being charged. All cleaners are insured so there is peace of mind when they are in your home. This is a highly recommend in my book! read more

I hired English Maids to clean my house every other week. They came the first day and did ok. However, there was definite room for improvement. The floors still had sticky spots on them from my kids, the tv table and other surfaces didn't appear to have been dusted, they definitely didn't sweep under the couch as you could see the line where they stopped. Also she left an hour early (after telling me multiple times that she was trying to get home to clean her own house) so she did have time to finish the job. I figured it was a first visit and admittedly, with the three kids, my house was quite a mess, so I'd stick with it and see how the next visit went. Well, the next week came and no one showed up. I called the company and spoke with Michelle who said that they only had me down for one cleaning. I explained to her that I was very clear with the owner that I needed every other week at this time and that I was replacing my current cleaning company. Michelle sounded annoyed that I was taking her time and said there was nothing she could do. She did offer a discount on my next service. Needless to say, I'm not satisfied with this company and have no idea how they have such a high rating. read more

We have been with English Maids for many years. Over the years we have had 4-5 women who were all wonderful. So wonderful that we kept them until they left or oved. Our current lady has been with us for a couple of years and we LOVE her. The company trains them well and they always will do just that little extra to make our home look great, especially before a big party. I requested cleaning on a move in/move out. Fortunately I arrived at the unit before the cleaning was completed. There were items missing in my unit. When I asked where they were, I was told that they assumed it was garbage. I do not understand how a cabinet or wall frames would be considered as garage. They should have called me to ask instead of just taking the items. Also, i was quoted $120, told it might be more. I was told to leave $150 just in case and that they would leave money in the unit if it was less. Of course they took the entire $150 and nothing was communicated to me. I had English Maids at my house a few times. The last was on December 24, 2018. The actual house cleaning was fine, but after the maid had left I discovered a wet rag had been placed/dropped on my antique silk chair. I left a message on the company's website that afternoon and did receive a message back from Donna. She contacted a few companies to come and clean it, but neither wanted to risk it since it was antique silk. The recommended getting the chair reupholstered. I found a company to do the work, let Donna know the price, she asked for another quote, which I sent to her, she said she'd pay for the chair to get redone, although sometimes she said the maid was paying other times it was the insurance company. She's never sent me a check for the repairs, I finally had it done, she kept trying to contact the company that did the reupholster herself, but they did not want to deal with her since it is my property. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend this company or use it in the future. read more

First experience started a bit rough, they were scheduled to arrive between 10:30-11:30 and showed up around 1:30. I called around noon to inquire what is going on, and I was told due to an issue in the previous house they got delayed. Once they got to my house they were fast, efficient, thorough and very professional. First time I've used a maid service and I was very pleased.
