I attempted to give another business a chance but when they didn't respond to messages or my request for work to be done I went onto angies list and found English Septic. I was impressed with the professionalism and speed in which they executed the work. I'd definately reccomend them to anyone looking for septic work. Rich handled the installation of the effluent filter and took time to explain the job and how it would be completed. I am shocked I have to write this because we have had very good prompt service in the past. And truthfully, the problem is not their service. The problem is they damaged my driveway and now refuse to pay for the repair. Long story: Months ago I damaged the edge of my 200ft driveway closest to the septic tank by driving off the back edge causing a crack approximately 18" long with my full size pickup. When we scheduled our latest septic service we asked that the driver bring pads or mats fearing the truck may have to drive off the same area to get close to our tank. The scheduler said they would make a note and notify the driver. When the driver arrived he backed down our driveway and as he adjusted the truck in the position he wanted the front wheels went over the edge in 4 spots causing major cracks to the side of the driveway more than 50ft from the area I was concerned about, due to the weight. After the service, and once the truck was moved I noticed the damage and notified the driver, "Abe" who stated he was "the one who always breaks stuff". He acknowledge the damage, took photos and wrote it on the invoice at my request. He forwarded the photos to the office. Now after several emails and phone calls, Abe is saying he merely drove over an already damaged area. This is completely false and they continue to argue about having to pay for the repair. Beware. I have the unfortunate experience of being subjected to unsanitary portable units provided and maintained by this company. The technician does not clean the units. He merely empties and refills, possibly contaminating the 'clean' water supply in the portable sink because the hoses cross, he is not utilizing ppe, and fails to implement minimum precautions against cross contamination. Used English for septic pumping, a weekend party spot a pot, and other services 4-5 times and they've always been responsive, the employees that have come to my home have always been polite did the job as requested and the rates are competitive. They could not have been more helpful. They didn't just empty my tank, which is what I called for. They were instrumental in identifying and fixing the bigger problem, which was that the gas company had broken the sewage line. A bad situation was fixed quickly and without costing too much. Others we had contacted estimated thousands of dollars more without ever actually identifying the problem. Excellent customer service and I would recommend them without hesitation. read more

Love this company. I have found that where I live it is very difficult to get good help. Companies often take weeks to come or do not even return phone calls. Worst company ever. They ripped off my 81 yr old grandmother charging her $500 for a basic cleaning, dug a huge hole without asking and left it open for 3 days. Told her she needed a $25,000 new ceptic system and shes been crying for days. There was no issue prior to them digging for no reason, and now a block is off. Whether or not the guy did it, idk but seems suspish to me. Dont use this business, apparently theyre ok with taking advantage of the elderly. Id select no stars if i could!!! read more

On New Year's morning my sewer pipe decided to plug-up, leaking water all over my basement floor though my kitchen sink. I called English and got an immediate answer. They were here with the truck prepared to pump the cesspool. When I told Nick, I think, I had just had it done 6 months prior he then turned his attention to the pipe.He worked very hard to try to free the pipes but couldn't. He then lined up a plumber for me to come and clear the pipes. Nick was very polite and respectful, which is extremely important to me. Because of this experience with Nick , and this being the 3rd time I had to have my pipe cleaned out I called English to have a camera run through to see what the problem was. It turned up that there was a dip in the pipe that needed to be replaced. After getting a proposal in the mail I decided to go ahead with English doing the job. Again, the 3 men that came out were very respectful, taking time to explain things to me. They not only did the job but they replaced everything they removed and worked hard to "save" a very important Japanese Maple for me. From start to finish I am very happy with them. read more

We felt like they were extorting us to get us to buy products and services that our house didn't require.We had a brand new house five-year-old septic and they basically kept coming in saying another assessment is needed for this ...that...that this was wrong that was wrong. New septic system installed in 2015 for a elderly woman. Wanted system to be up to code. Over 20,000.00. Pumped tank out, said it was a 1,000 gallon tank. In estimate of work to be done said 1,000 gallon tank. They hired an engineer for a plan that said 1,000 gallon tank. Go to sell it this year and find out it is not up to code-not a 1,000 gallon tank. Call multiple times and went in person to discuss problem. Never able to speak with the owner. Would not admit responsibility or rectify problem. Would not return calls. Sent an email that they would correct the problem for an additional 5,000.00. read more

Do not go through this vendor for any of your sewage needs. I was charged $900 for 2 visits to merely clean out my septic tank... Pricing was barely disclosed, I provided my credit card number and was charged outrageous prices without having any type of disclosure... I also found out the subcontractor performed a job that costs $150, English Sewage added an additional $150 cost to the price for a very simple plumbing job. Do yourself a favor, there are many similar vendors out there, if you dont want to get ripped off do not use this company! read more

I hired this company two years ago September. I had to pay in advance for each year. The problem the first year was that I could never get them to come out to do their service call. I started calling in July and after several phone calls was able to get someone to do their job. When the time came to renew my contract I wrote a bad review on their website. That prompted a call the very next day. They promised me this would not happen again. So, foolishly I renewed. This year was even worse. I never received any service call. I spent time and much frustration on the phone trying to get what I paid for the year. They gave me the supervisor, who promised me he would return my call within 24 hours. That was the beginning of August. He informed me they had over 25,000 customers and sometimes had a hard time getting to all of them. So, I did the math considering that maybe a third of their customers fell through the cracks. That gives them a record of 4.8 million dollars in revenue that cost them nothing.That is quite a free revenue for any company. All I had ever wanted is the service I paid $600.00 per year. I will report them to the Better Business Bureau and the EPA. My septic system requires a contract because of its style. I used to run my own Pharmacy and all my customers were important. Terrible business. One of their port a pots is being used on a construction site next door to my home. The work has been going on for almost a year now. They (English Septic) do not come once a week to empty or replace units as they are required to. They won't come for months unless someone complains. Also, had an incident last week, at about 12 o'clock at night, where some kids or someone tipped one of their units over. Crap everywhere. Whole block stinking like human waste, and this is Ventnor. Figure their company would do something about it. My wife calls English. Asks what do they do when this happens? Send someone out, replace, clean up crew. Mike from English rudely tells my wife they dont do ANYTHING!? My wife tells him we have 4 kids in our home and its obviously a terrible stench and unsanitary. My wife was told they dont care. Luckily, the Ventnor Police and Fire Department showed up because my wife called them. Mike from English told a Ventnor Police Officer over the phone the same thing!? The Officer and Ventnor City Fire Department actually sprayed and cleaned down the whole street. Good guys, they didnt have to do that.Everyone was surprised to say the least. This happened 5 nights ago and the SAME unit is still on the site, hasn't been moved or cleaned by English Septic and they havent come to check out if everything is ok. They could care less. Scumbags. Word of advice to any contractors or people looking to use this business, STAY AWAY!!!Find a more professional and courteous business!! read more

I WOULD NOT EVERY RECCOMEND THEM TO ANY ONE .I used them a few times they told me that they finished doing a video in the pipes and they found the problem and repaired it well it happen again and I called them again and they said it is fixed that I need to call the city sewer to have them fix the problem .The city video the pipes and found that the problem that English said they fixed was not done I called again to English to tell them what the city sewer had said they said get someone else and I already paid them they also hung up ON me I will be disputing the bill with my credit card co. These guys are 5 stars, I had a backup in my house and they were there within the hour. The two gentleman introduced themselves with a smile in 96 degree heat and explained every step they were going to take to solve the issue.
