My husband had a community care plan in Vegas but when he asked Dr Patel about discrepancies in his care plan vs the one in Vegas, he said "if you want that go back to Vegas" which was pretty rude to say to a person trying to understand the difference in treatments. While i was waiting for my husband the front office staff hung up with a patient and then proceeded to bad mouth her loud enough for me to hear. If you don't want to take care of veterans, don't accept VA community care plans. It's truly a disgrace to wait so long for an appt only to be talked down to when you ask questions. He won't be back. And maybe Dr Patel/his staff should take some classes in how to care for patients.

They're always educational--of course it be the same lesson: (insert kid name here) needs to floss every night. Recently the vibes have been rushed and a little stressed. Not that I have anything to add or any questions with the fliss being the only lesso . But the doctor on duty seems to be spread thin, like that doctor is the only one working that day--I've had different doctors I think. Which is fine, I think I remember the vibes feeling less stressful and rushed when 2 worked that day. But again it's just vibes, no one actually expressed this and everyone works very well together. Unrelated to this, I did have a suggestion: for the little children, if there isn't a way to kid kid-sized dental chairs, perhaps a seat pillow would make them more comfortable (see picture). Overall we have pleasant experiences there. Care quality is great. Expensive depending on insurance, but great.

I've been to a few dentists in the past that have made the experience more tolerable, but in general it is what it is. Dr. Desai was the only reviewed dentist that my insurance carrier could definitely verify was in network, plus he's right up the street. Off the bat, the staff was helpful and although someone dropped the ball with calling me back after my initial phone request, once this was discovered by the office manager she offered a full explanation and apology. As a matter of fact, of all the dentists I called, she was the only one who took the initiative to check with the insurance company to verify my findings. The kindness and lighthearted approach extended to our visit, and I felt welcomed and wanted. The whole family needed cleanings and X-rays so we all went together. Although they don't normally take 5 year olds, they made an exception for the boy since he's been to the dentist several times before. This is what he had to say about the experience: "I didn't like how they tried to hurt my teeth. They were all nice to me. I want to go to a place with toys and also I want to watch a show while it's happening." My wife says: "You get what you pay for. they're very sweet and nice. It's not upscale but it gets the job done." We're used to a much more updated office setting, something we enjoyed in NJ -- but Dr. Desai's office is a throwback to old school equipment and methodology. There's nothing wrong with that, it just doesn't take the edge off of your discomfort while sitting in the chair. HOWEVER, there is a nice Krishna tapestry on the wall you can stare at for a while and imagine better times. Overall, it's a standard dentist practice with kind people running the office. Until and unless we can find a more child-centered place that also accepts our insurance, we'll keep going back.

The office is not cleaned properly; for instance, the front door mat is never vacuumed, and there is always dirt under the lobby chairs. Since we always schedule early morning appointments, the office should be cleaned and mopped nightly. Additionally, the base of the dentist chair is dusty and dirty, and the baseboards are not cleaned either, even behind the doors.
