I was given one month of in-house service, once a week. First visit, assessment. Second visit, half hour of hands on massage with my neck, felt wonderful afterwards. Now here's why I rated only one star... Third visit, normally scheduled on Thursday at 3 pm, Tim called to rescheduled for Wednesday at 2 pm. Tim was late, 20 minutes, did not call me to let me know, only to find a text message from him after our visit. First thing Tim did was start taking pictures, which was okay I guess but I'm in need of manipulation for my neck, not hearing clicking from him taking pictures. I'm thinking, wait a minute. This is my third visit now with only a half hour for service. What was supposed to be physical therapy. Was only upset on my part, my patience was done. Tim said that I have a half hour left. I sent Tim away. There was no way that I could relax with my state of mind at that moment. I cancelled my fourth and last visit, that visit would have been for discharge, more paperwork with no more physical therapy. Conclusion: one month of in-house physical therapy once a week, only to have one hour of hands on massage. Enhabit Home Health needs to do their paperwork on their time not mine. Period!! read more

My therapists and nurse who work at Enhabit have improved my physical and mental health greatly. I have worked with many occupational and physical therapist and nurses, so I recognize excellence when I so rarely encounter it. Cornelius, Scott and Corey have increased my strength, while reducing my anxiety due to balance issues. They are all courteous and empathic. The exercises are increasing my core strength and have lessened my self-consciousness about my gait and other significant disabilities. Cynthia has been my advocate. She has encouraged me to alter my lifestyle to move through my place and the world much better. I am gaining confidence to ask my physicians for help in my visits. She has taught me to advocate for myself. JB, who answers my calls, is also extremely patient and helpful. I still have many problems, but I also realize that I have been blessed by having access to Enhabit's stellar employees. My doctor's office scheduled me to have physical therapy with this company. My first appointment was on Monday, February 17th, with the intake nurse. He was a male and to me was not very professional. He inquired as to why I had 2 vehicles and so many sneakers? He observed this due to the fact that I was letting him in through the garage. I scheduled a return appointment with him to remove my dressing on my knee for Monday, 2/24 @ 2 p.m. On Tuesday, 2/15, I commenced by I initial PT therapy session with Jennifer. She seemed very rush and cold. No real dialogue. The session lasted every bit of 20-25 minutes. Prior to her departure, we scheduled my next session for Thursday @ 2:30 p.m. On Thursday, Jennifer arrived at 3:30 o.m. In the interim, while waiting for her arrival, I placed a call to the main office to communicate that she had not arrived. Once she arrived, I j suited to what happen to her being here@ 2.30. She tried to say we scheduled the session for 3:30. This was not true. On Monday, 2/24, the nurse who was scheduled to remove my knee dressing after I texted him & 2:05 are we still on He texted me: sorry, I got stuck on the phone with Social Security about retirement, leaving Springfield now eta roughly 2:45 My response: Your agency seems to have no regard for other people's time and punctuality. He did not arrive until 3:35 p.m. On Thursday, February 27th, I had my last session with Jennifer. Her demeanor was totally different towards me - personable. Since October 2023 I have been my wife's caregiver. We were doing good on getting her back to her old self, when she got up on her walker to go to the bathroom before lunch and fell backwards in the bedroom and hit her backside on a small stool and bumped her head on the night stand. SO! If you have a loved one that needs emergency care, please don't take them to the Oklahoma Heart Hospital South. Dr. Fitzgerald.The ER doctor is not very friendly. My wife fell August 16, 2025 at about 12pm. She was hurting so bad afterwards I decided to take her to the Oklahoma heart Hospital South emergency room, My big mistake. Doctor asked what happened, told him she fell and her left leg hurts very intense and bumped her head. Doctor said I'll order CT scan of her head and X-ray of her left hip. Doctor didn't even come in the room and tell us anything. Nurse came in later said nothing in CT scan and onion X-ray. Said go home and take Tylenol. Around 4pm my wife was hurting so bad and crying I decided to take her to McBride orthopedic emergency room. Called 911 they sent ambulance. I told them to take her to the McBride ER and they said they could not take her. They have to take her to a regular hospital ER not a specialty hospital. I said I need to get her to the orthopedic hospital ER. They said they would help me put her in the car and I could take her so that's what I opted to do. Wants it to McBride orthopedic ER. They did a complete scan of her pelvis and come to find out. She had two fractures of her pelvis. The quack doctor Fitzgerald had missed. Her pain was so severe she could not stand or walk so I needed help to take care of her and they opted to send out Enhibit to help. That was another one of my big mistake. Why they put her in the Hospice side I do not know because what she was in the Hospice side not home health care. She didn't last very long. They had the death wish on her. She did not have anything that was terminal which is required to be in the hospice program. I'm still dazed about how they were able to put her in the hospice side where they only give her morphine and hydrocodone pain medication till she couldn't eat no more or swallow and then they could not control her pain very well. She passed away in a horrible, horrible way. So be careful when you send your loved ones to the Oklahoma heart Hospital, South and Enhabit Home Health and Hospice. My wife and I were looking for home healthcare to help me care for her until she would be able to stand and then I could take care of her by myself like when she fell and broke her hips. The nurses that came to the house were nice, but somewhere in the management system they were able to put her in the Enhabit Hospice side because I guess there's more money there than in home healthcare side. On call 24/7! These guys have quite a racket going on with at-home nursing, physical, speech, and occupational therapy. They can come out to your place, and offer their services with your even having to leave the sofa! They have two main levels of people who come out- the actual therapists / nurses, and the therapist supervisors who have to assess and reassess things and make sure that there's measurable improvements in order for the care to continue. One of the best things about Enhabit Home Health is the bedside manner of the employees. They're always friendly and understanding. They must put up with a bunch of stuff on a regular basis, but they're always professional and empathetic. We've had to cancel on them last minute, and when I'd be cursing up a storm about last minute cancellations, they're completely understanding. My only complaint is that they're rarely on time. They can only schedule things the night before, so it makes things kinda seat of your pants when it comes to trying to schedule your day when they're on call. read more

The scheduler does not do their job as to keeping up with what day the nurse is to come and when you have a DR appointment that you can't have a visit. Enhabit Hospice, formerly Encompass Hospice, was a massive fail for my father. Their DME contracter, National DME, brought a hospital bed into my father's home on Thursday, the nurse went over paperwork on Friday with me. On Saturday morning, 4/16/22, I woke up at 5 am to give my father medicine, only to discover a fully mature bed bug crawling across his pillow. I immediately made a call to their 24/7 number, was answered by a call service, who said a nurse would call back. The nurse did call back but denied that it could be their bed because "Our beds are vinyl and bed bugs can't live on vinyl." She did offer to replace the mattress. I soon after contacted an exterminator, Zoyd Bed Bug Treatment. They looked at the pictures of the now two bed bugs I had captured snd sealed in condiment containers and confirmed that they were fully mature bed bugs and she began contacting Encompass/Enhabit hospice as well. I made a further attempt to contact Encompass/Enhabit and my concern was forwarded to an administrator, Reed, who proceeded to call me around 2 pm and tell me, "No respite will take him." He insisted they were trying to figure something out, but I never heard anything from them again until Monday at 11 am, when a different administrator called me, Jennifer, and told me, they were still trying to figure something out. By this time, concerned for my father's safety, with a planned Heat Treatment being done to his bedroom at 3:30 pm on Monday, which required the AC to be turned off for at least 4 hours, and no help from Hospice, I readmitted my father to the hospital. Also, once the assigned nurse for my father was warned about the bed bugs that her company had introduced to our hone, she failed to show up as scheduled on Saturday and only made a token phone call on Sunday. It was only after my father was re-hospitalized, and the heat treatment done, that Encompass/Enhabit called me on Tuesday, offering to put my father up in a hotel, something I had asked earlier they if indeed no respite would take him. They also finally agreed to reimburse me for the treatment, due to the fact that National DME confirmed that there were bed bugs in the headboard of the bed they had delivered to us. Due to their mismanagement and bad policies, Encompass/Enhabit Hospice is not a company I would recommend, and I would even warn you away from them. They did not respond in a timely manner to ensure my father's safety and comfort snd indeed denied him care. They failed to take responsibility for their actions and protect my father. They abandoned him. Stay away from Encompass/Enhabit Hospice snd I can promise, you will be the happier for it. read more

Knowing what I know now I wouldn't sign them up to take care of my dog. One thing anybody with a loved one on hospice with this company needs to know. This is important. If they talk you into at some point putting your family member in a facility such as a nursing home beware. They will say "Oh, they will still be on hospice in the facility". The problem is, they shift all blame and responsibility to that said facility and feed you all manner of BS with "We just don't have the staff" and "Regulations say we don't have to be there during their last couple of days of life". Then, the facility says "Well, they are on hospice...why don't you call the hospice. We are understaffed". had physical therapy for a knee replacement the worst physical therapist I ever had. Amy a supervisor initiated, my physical therapy two days with her was enough . My knee never swelled after surgery even after I got home until Amy the physical therapist started working with me after the second day. After that, I requested that I didn't want Amy as my physical therapist anymore. I'm scheduled for surgery again for my other knee replacement this time I'm researching for a better home health company, never again will I use them and I don't recommend them.. My Review for enhabit This is to my fellow Christians. My wife has a mobility issue from an accident 10 yrs ago and now is fighting cancer. As her care giver, each day is a battle. I was please when enhabit came to help with nursing and physical therapy and she improve when schedule after she recovered from her chemo treatments. Without our approval or explanation, she was dropped from all care. We loved our PT nurse, but this sets back her improvement. If you are a care giver, look at other home health options first. We are very disappointed, and we'll try and find another providers via our doctors. Keep this in mind so you avoid such a disruption or being dropped from care to maybe have numbers look good on paper while hurting a patientToday, we are disappointed and if I can do no STARs I would. Enhabit has recently taken over care of my 93 year-old grandmother with dementia. My grandmother could not be reached, and we called the police for a welfare check. She was not at home. We called Enhabit (who is caring for her using unethically obtained guardian services - who lets a 93 year-old dementia patient sign over their life?!), and were told that we should probably file a Silver Alert, but they could not give us any information. The guardian services had my grandmother sign paperwork saying they could not speak to us, and obtained control over all of her finances. She has since signed a revocation, but they will not recognize it since "she has dementia and cannot possibly make that decision". Such BS and disgusting practices! Why would a company who is supposedly responsible for her care ask us to file a Silver Alert?! read more

I had a hip replacement recently and enhabit home health cared for my needs by tending to the incision. The nurses were all professional, friendly and explained everything they were doing (eg. wound care, wound appearance, taking vital signs). I also had my post surgery physical therapy with enhabit physical therapy. Steve and Regina were AWESOME. I progressed very well and they were both attentive to my needs, questions, and goals. Good people, bad scheduling. The best you can get is a phone call the night before they want to visit. Although their visiting staff promises future dates, they are rarely kept. I have had nursing care cancelled on me twice for obscure reasons, such as I was not in theri area, or someone called in ill. I was never notified about their scheduling changes. I was due to be discharged today, but no one scheduled an appointment for it. When I called last night, all I got was a phone clerk who assured me she would forward my concerns to the "on call" person, But I never got a response. Yhis morning I called again and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told she was busy but would call right back. After two hours, I called agian and spoke to an acting supervisor who had no knowlewdge of my prior calls. She apologized, but that really did not address their issues. The visiting nurses and therapists were courteous and seemed caring, but I never knew when I was being seen by an assistant with a lower level of experience or training. Hopefully, I will not need a service such as this again, but I will make sure it is not provided by Enhabit. I can't wait to see how much they charged Medicare! read more

These folks were always caring and compassionate and took time to listen to him and laugh at his jokes. Leslie Settle, the OT supervisor, is empathetic, skilled, and efficient. The OT therapist, Kasey C., is friendly, helpful, and persistent. My husband's left arm and hand became much more flexible after she worked with him. She provided updates to me often. The PT, Dana F., helped him get out of the wheelchair and back to using his walker with a platform on the left side! All three are professional and competent. I've been using this company for 3+ years. Every visit is always a positive experience. I absolutely love the physical therapists . There names are Julie Swallow, Todd, and Justin. Kitt, and other nurses I can't remember the names. I absolutely appreciate all of them. But there's one physical therapist that I've been working with a straight three years. She is amazing! She's very smart and she makes you move every single muscle and she can tell if one of your muscles you're not moving lol! She will redirect you and tell you how to do it. She knows every muscle from head to toe. She is so very kind and sweet. I have grown very close to her. I depend on her for all my physical therapy needs. There's nobody like Julie Swallow. She's outstanding in her field and should be recognized as such. As well as the others. I'm sad to say that Todd has left the company. I miss him too. He would reassess me when needed. I could say so many more great things about these people in this company, but it's just too long to list. I have worked with all their staff for different reasons. Enhabit in Colorado Springs. My father, who broke his femur in two places, came home from rehab. 91 years old, in pain and hard of hearing and, of course, cranky. I cannot speak to the therapy as they were not able to get that far for someone to work with my aging father. The therapist who came was one of their best, I was told. However, they are not trained or qualified to work with difficult seniors. If you hire this company, make sure the patient is of very docile temperament. Geriatric nursing requires a very special person. read more

I wish I didn't have the experience to write this review, but hopefully others in a similar situation will find this review helpful. Encompass was amazing at providing end of life care for my father. Their staff, particularly Joan, Blu (respiratory therapist), Phil, and Sue were incredibly patient, attentive, and knowledgeable. I cannot rave enough about Joan, who my father became very fond of- she would listen to his medication complaints thoroughly, suggest alternatives, talk through his excuses and reservations, and ultimately hold him accountable to a treatment plan. Encompass is a large, busy company, and everyone seems to have a pretty full caseload, and occasionally there are (reasonable) delays in reaching or communicating with someone. Toward the end, we had to call the on-call nurse in the middle of the night a few times, and though I didn't catch a specific name, I was not thrilled with how dismissive that person came across- I felt it was clear that I was being told to wait out the situation or get chastised for overreacting, when the staff simply did not want to get out of bed and come over to evaluate the patient. Luckily this only happened once, and promptly in the morning a competent staff member called and came by to follow up. By and large, staff encouraged my father to use the medications available to him to be comfortable while addressing his concerns about addiction, dependency, and an ever-changing medication schedule. Joan has been an absolute blessing throughout this experience. She was present for my father's passing, assisted with phone calls to the coroner's office and the removal of the body by the mortuary company, and has provided emotional support to both my father and our family. I do not live in Texas, and I appreciate that Joan was very clear and honest when communicating with me about my father's condition. If you are in the unfortunate situation to need to use a home health/hospice company, this is one of the better ones (search my reviews if you're curious about who else I dealt with), and definitely request Joan in particular if she is available. read more

We used their services for inpatient hospital hospice. I am still not sure why we needed them. The hospital ICU nurses did all the work administering the morphine and checking on us and my family member. I did not see the Enhabit nurses when the hospital ICU nurse and respiratory tech took out my mom's breathing tube. I did not see them administering morphine. I only saw them do an assessment and make us wait hours for the procedure to start. I saw them making jokes and complimenting one of the nurses on her hair. I didn't see them when my mom took her last breath. The social worker from Enhabit came in during the last hour of my mom's life to get an assessment from my dad, taking him away from my mom. Honestly, I wasn't impressed and I still don't know why we needed them, if the ICU nurses did all of the work. I had to give one star so the review would post. @encompasshlth is believed to not pay overtime for their employees. It is stated they don't pay accrued leave when employees leave. Some employee records are forged to save money on health payments. Any comment on this? We plan to investigate more. We were contacted by a nurse who left your company and was told she would not get paid for her leftover leave. Due to fraud on when her last day was, she is informed she owes money for seeing the doctor due to not being covered by her medical benefits. Yet she was still working for your company but called in sick due to being sick. Not very caring as an employer. Both my husbands PCP and Neurologists recommended Hospice for his Alzheimer's. Enhabit declined him for hospice but offered home health care. The nurse came 3 times and suddenly stopped. No return visit no phone call until 3 weeks after her last visit date to say my husband was "discharged". Really? If this is an example of care offered, I'm VERY GLAD they declined to help. My father has been a client for approximately 2 yrs. He gets UTI easily & becomes week. He came home with a pic line on 7/19/23. On 7/21 I cled because his bed sore was dripping blood. Brandy, the office manager & a RN told me to put a kotex over the sore. Anyone know open wound are subject to infection. Then, his 4 pm infusion of antibiotics was not going in to the pic line. I called the infusion company & they tried trouble shooting over the phone. It didn't work so, they called home health & were waiting on them to call back. I called Enhabit also & return phone calls were not forthcoming. I finally got a hold of Brandy and she stayed they do not service pic lines. I ended up calling 911 & he was transported to the hospital & back home around 1 am 7/22. Talked to the infusion company 7/22 as I was experiencing same issue. I was told they have several clients on pic lines abd Enhabit does service them. Finally got a Enhabit nurse out here this evening & she said yes we do service pic lines and IV. I personally think Brady was the on calm nurse on 7/21 and didn't want to come up, it would inconvenience her evening. She saud VA protocol but Dad isn't a VA patient. Then she said it was his 3rd pic line so, I should know they don't service them. No, it is his 2nd one and the hospital would have released him on a puc line with zero service. Brady tbe office manager in tbe Temple, TX office is doing a disservice to thr patient and the company. He should have been visited by a home health nurse Wednesday, Thursday at the latest and not waiting until Saturday. Makes me wonder if Brandy scheduled it for Saturday to get over time! read more

We had Encompass Home Health for both my parents. My mom was recovering from cancer surgery and dad was suffering from early onset dementia. The nurses and therapists were not only knowledgeable but also compassionate. They were patient with them and answered any questions they or we had. Little did we know that they were at the end stages of their lives. We are so grateful that Encompass was there to assist us through this difficult time. There are three people crammed in one room. The patient often does not get the services he/she needs on the weekend or on holidays. Nurses are often cranky and miserable, especially at night. They say that only one person at a time is allowed to visit, but there were four women cackling and talking very loudly visiting one patient and disturbing the other patients. I have worked for this company for 4 1/2 years at the Augusta, Ga. branch as a Reimbursement Coordinator, this company has poor leadership, poor pay, inadequate training, incompetent supervisor and an abundant amount of work that doesn't coincide with pay (in my case). I was the lowest paid employee in my department, when they are hiring experience and non experience new hires coming in making more than seniority, as a courtesy I submitted a 2 weeks notice and was expected me trained a new hire before my departure, which was not in my scope of practice, however when I found out the new inexperience employee was making more than I was I felt as though that was a complete slap in my face. Before putting in my notice I was advised that they hated to loose a good employee, but did not do anything to try to keep me. The company moral is HORRIBLE (at the Augusta location), you will be expected to just come in do your 8 and hit the gate. You will not be appreciated for ANYTHING, if the company quota is met at the end of the month your appreciation for that will be "Congrats", Enhabit bucks (that no one really uses) or dress down for a week. They offer WFH position but you will have to be in the office 2 days out of the week. This company does not offer incentives, paid vacation and during Thanksgiving or Christmas Eve holidays early release will not be on EST but will be MST. They will expect you to cross train without an increase in pay, this company is A HORRIBLE PLACE OF BUSINESS and they are crooks. read more

It took two weeks after hospitalization to start nursing services and longer than that to start physical therapy. It's been a month and still haven't heard from occupational therapy. I was told from both departments that the delay is due to the company being short staffed and I live so far away (approximately 30 miles). Nursing - The nurses always came in pairs. The nurses have been rude and disrespectful on every visit. Within two weeks prior to nurses starting, a hospital doctor, my primary pulmonologist, and a pulmonologist to whom I was referred for surgical clearance all stated I DO NOT need oxygen during the day. My walking and breathing test show good O2 levels and blood CO2 level (from blood test) was normal. I was told I need oxygen with BiPAP while sleeping. One Encompass nurse decided she knew better than my doctors, disconnected concentrator from BiPAP and moved it to the living room because she believed I needed it (blood O2 level was at 95%). She wrote me up as "non compliant" because I'm not using oxygen concentrator during the day and had home nursing services discontinued because of this. And I am unable to move my oxygen concentrator back to the bedroom by myself (mobility difficulties) so now I can not use it at night as per pulmonologist orders. Physical Therapists - The physical therapists have been very kind and caring. However, the only thing they are doing is having me walk several times from my living room to my bedroom using my cane. This I can do myself, and I do it several times a day on my own through out the day. There's not really anything being accomplished during their visits. read more

One of the worst experiences of my life! I am 58 years old. I had surgery for a broken shoulder and torn rotator cuff. I was strongly encouraged to opt for this facility versus in-home therapy by a smooth talking sales rep. What a mistake!! Let my list begin: The beds are worse than sleeping on the floor. The pillows may as well be rocks in cases. The pharmacy made a serious error in my daily meds and before day 5, I thought I was going insane and could barely open my eyes. Essentially, I was mistakenly drugged. The worst of my experience, however, was being visually violated by my female Occupational Therapist during my shower. I was completely uncomfortable and to top it off, she was of no help. A a better note, the food was very good. The Administrative Staff and Doctors were outstanding and very compassionate. This review is for Home hospice services only. My dad received both home health and then hospice from Encompass. Home Hospice was a joke. They didn't explain to my mom what switching my dad to hospice meant. She agreed to it because she needed more help and they promised it. It ended up being one visit for less than an hour a day and then they yelled at her for not doing more - she's 80. The one hospice nurse failed to fill my dad's scrips for a week. Then she told me on a Sunday that he was a long way away from "the end" and not two days later she told my mom he "didn't have much time." Why would you tell someone their dad was a long way from dying if his condition could change that drastically that quickly? The following Saturday he was dead. The social worker went on vacation a few days after he got home with no backup person to contact. Well guess what? My dad died in the interim and my mom had no one to reach out to. The social worker did call my mom and I when she returned from her vacation to offer her condolences. We both let her call go to voicemail. read more

So far not that great, my father has been out of acute rehab for almost 3 weeks, had the threaten them to cancel service just to get someone out to evaluate him, still no speech therapy started, and just PT has started. They need to get on the ball ,have had several home health agency's and never had to wait this long for therapy to start, he is going backwards, it was set up in the hospital prior to discharge 3 weeks ago.
