Two of my appointments in the past few months were cancelled within 48 hours. This is extremely unprofessional. I have 3 cleanings per year through Delta Dental. I was told on two separate appointments by Aspen Dental staff that I owed out of pocket for these cleanings, which I know is not true. This time, I was told that I needed to wait 30-45 calendar days for Aspen Dental to verify my insurance. As soon as I called Delta Dental, they confirmed that this could be confirmed online within 30 seconds. I waited on a 3 way call for Aspen Dental to figure out my plan on their end and they couldn't do it after 20 minutes on the phone. It seemed like laziness to me. Delta Dental staff confirmed with me that this issue should not be happening. It seemed like this was Aspen Dental's first day in dealing with insurance so I took my service elsewhere

First they sent me a bill from an appointment that was 6 months prior for charges that I had no knowledge of - they backtracked and said they don't take my insurance anymore and I needed to pay it. No, that's not how this works! I paid what I was supposed to pay when I was there, they wanted even more after 6 months?!? The way I found out was when my daughter went for her appointment and they told her it would be somewhere around $100 for what we had been paying $0 previously. No notice! I told her to get back in her car and come home, do not go sit in that chair for your cleaning! The office staff had the audacity to tell me they would charge me for a no show if she didn't stay, somewhere around $100. I laughed, and told her that it is on them for not informing us of their change in accepting our insurance and to come find me for that missed appointment charge - please, come find me! That was the end of going there. It's a shame. I liked Dr Adams, he was nice. It's the lack of communication with the patients in which they lack that led me to find another provider. Touché

After years of an infection that broke into my sinuses, I went to see a specialist who immediately identified the poor work. He also knew exactly who did the work, as he has had to help other former patients of Dr Adams with similar issues. Thousands of dollars, multiple procedures, and multiple health issues later, I am back on track and healthy. As a side warning - over the years, I have posted about this experience on provider review sites. Those reviews, and others I would see about similar botched work by Dr Adams, have since been removed.

Last spring I had my cleaning and they found a crack under a molar crown. I went to an implant specialist. Had it extracted and a bone graft. During those visits I had extensive halo X-rays and regular X-rays. Today I was told if I didn't have a "big picture done" Each Individual Tooth X rayed, they would not clean my teeth. I walked out. That is not necessary. I just had halo X-rays done a year ago. It isn't healthy to have that many X-rays. I am 72. I am not getting all new crowns or veneers. Not going back ever. Furious. They would not clean my teeth unless I agreed to have each tooth xrayed!

That said, there is a hygienist at his practice who does not keep patient information and patient care confidential. Lance- I wrote a formal letter detailing my experience and submitted it to my dentist/the practice. To my surprise, I never heard from my dentist of over eight years. Instead, a woman called me telling me they got the letter and they handled it. Nothing was said during the call that acknowledged the seriousness of the situation nor made me want to continue going to the practice. The way that I was treated and the way the situation was handled was almost worse than the offense. So there's no need for me to call in.
