Many thanks to Dr Allen and his very adept assistant. also Dr Allen actually did give me a deal of sorts. he had done a root canal on the tooth next to the 1 he was doing the apocoectomy on. so he told me he was doing both root ends since I was already having the procedure done. I assume this was a rare situation and he didn't charge me for the second procedure! So it was a BOGO but not at publix. (pardon my humor attempt) Enhanced Endodonics has excellent doctors and staff and they're not out to fleece people that are in dire conditions from tooth infection. read more

It may seem strange that I have not actually been to Enhanced Endodontics but I'm writing a glowing review. My son was in a lot of pain and it ended up being a tooth infection. Victoria (Tory) was so kind and patient with me on the phone as we figured out what needed to be done. The helpfulness of office staff is usually a berometer of how the rest of the practice would handle patients. Best root canal EVER! Never had any pain during or after the procedure that was 3 days ago. The office staff from front desk to techs to Dr. Allen were all very warm and friendly. They were very knowledgeable, but also took extra time to educate me on the diagnosis, procedure, and recovery. They even followed up with a call to check on me. My first and last visit with Dr. Briano Allen started out well but as soon as I started asking a simple question regarding my result, his tone of voice became standoffish and dismissive. Even the nurse's friendly attiude changed after she saw how Briano treated me. The doctor who referred me to him asked me to go back, but that is not going to happen, I despise passive aggressive behavior. I am pretty sure he meant to behave this way with me, because after he stepped out, and as he was enterring his next visitation room, he made sure to look right back at me with a stern look. I am visiting my daughter and son in law in Tallahassee for a month and began to experience pain and discomfort with a molar under a fixed bridge on last Saturday. By Sunday, I called my dentist who called in a prescription for Amoxicillin and advised me to contact an Endodontics facility. On Monday, the pain was unbearable. I was quite anxious, as I would have preferred to wait until I returned home to have such an involved procedure done with my own dentist yet, I decided to follow my dentist's advice. By error, (after many reviews), I contacted a dentist who then referred me to Dr. Allen at Enhanced Endodontics. I called early Tuesday morning and they immediately got me in for a Consultation, gave me an appt for Wednesday morning and then completed the root canal within 2 hours. I cannot even begin to explain how impressed I was with every aspect of Enhanced Endodontics! The staff was wonderful, Morgan was great, Sam was as well; and Dr Allen was kind, caring, patient and absolutely AMAZING!! I was super nervous, but informed every step of the way, exactly what they were doing during the procedure. Afterwards I was given instructions and told that I'd feel much better in 72 hours (as I had quite a bit of infection in that tooth). They advised me to call w/o hesitation if I had unbearable pain that Ibuprofen could not relieve. They informed me that the novocaine would wear off in two hours, but to take ibuprofen (400mg) every 4 hours or (800mg) every eight hours ( depending on my level of pain. I chose to take 400mg of the over the counter ibuprofen every 4 hours, ( 100mg) per hour as explained . I kept waiting for the discomfort they had mentioned that I'd have, but as the novocaine wore off, I didn't have pain nor discomfort of any sort. I took another dose, thinking that if I didn't, that the pain would sneak upon me. It is now Thursday evening and I only took 3-4 doses of ibuprofen in total and have not experienced any pain from the moment I got int that chair through now! I absolutely feel like Dr Allen and his assistant Sam, did a stellar job! No pain after a root canal! If ever you are looking for an Endodontics office here in Tallahassee; please give Enhanced Endodontics a call! They were definitely a 5 star facility. I don't even feel like I had a root canal! I must say that I was extremely impressed! read more

Dr. Sykes is fine, but beware of Dr. Allen! He showed absolutely no concern when I tried to tell him I was feeling what he was doing- he completely ignored me and kept going without a word. He seems to lack any concern whatsoever about the patients ' well being. It seemed almost sadistic. Let me add that I have been to 5 endodontists in Tallahassee, and though there are some I prefer over others, I will never let dr Allen come near my mouth again. read more

I was referred by my Dentist to Red Hills for a dreaded root canal. I approached with great trepidation because I have had very little experience with dental work in my nearly 60 years. The staff was enthusiastic, kind snd professional. Dr. Allen was also professional and had a kind and caring demeanor. Everything went very well for the first phase of my procedure. I could not recommend Dr. James D. Sykes to anyone. The root canal Dr. Sykes "performed" on my tooth was painful and difficult. Another dentist identified a problem with the tooth and recommended that I return to Dr. Sykes. Dr. Sykes recommended the tooth be extracted. After the extraction, clearly only a portion of the tooth had been treated. The living portion of the tooth slowly died, became infectious, infected adjacent teeth, and was attacked by the body. Dr. Sykes never responded to my letter respectfully requesting a refund of the return office visit fee ($195) that his staff said I probably would not be charged. read more

This was my first root canal. As a child, I would compare my dentist to Steve Martin in the movie "Little Shop of Horrors". In comparison, Dr Sykes (and his staff) is like the welcoming committee you see for our soldiers returning from oversees (caring, compassionate, supportive, and damn good at what he does). In my mind, Dr Sykes kicked Steve Martin's character out the door and changed the lock on the door. I was referred to Dr. Sykes by my dentist foe a root canal. He is a wonderful dentist. He is patient and truly cares about the patient. I am a rare case in that I metabolize the novocaine at a rapid pace. He was very patient and did everything possible to keep me from feeling any pain. If I had to have a roolt canal I am so thankfule that I had Dr. Sykes to take care of me! He staff is great too:) read more

Dr. Sykes drilled a hole in my porcelain crown, without my consent, due to poor notes taken by his assistant. He's a great orthodontist, but in this situation, I was treated terribly. After the procedure was over, I asked why there was a hole in my crown, and he informed me that his assistant had notes of me wanting it drilled through. This was incorrect, as the crown had not been permanently sealed at the time, due to a procedure being needed on the tooth next to it, which I informed her of during the appointment, but she improperly recorded the notes. Now I'm due another $1300 to get my crown replaced, because insurance won't cover another crown until after 5 years, unnecessarily, and the office never apologized, or tried to correct their error. They basically suggested I go back to my primary dentist, and get it filled in!! ...which is another $300. I'm an independent student, with insurance, but usually pay all differences on my own. I was a faithful client, until I became aware of this office's lack of concern for college students. I still have a HOLE in my crown, which has now chipped even more, due to the hole drilled in, because I still can't afford to have it replaced. :( Never again. read more
