Staff is excellent. Very thoughtful, instructive and careful. Parking is an issue. Very small lot which is always full. I went from lots of pain, barely walking to after surgery I couldn't lift. Less than a year I'm walking, built my strength back. No more pain in my back. Before I visited Enhanced Physical Therapy: After moving to NY several years ago, I have visited over a dozen of different PT service providers. These providers often gave me the feeling that I was just a number. I found myself spending 95% of my time spending on exercises I could do in the comfort of my home as well. Only 5% of the time I received 1:1 attention. On top of that, I often did not feel that the root cause was being treated. When I discovered Enhanced Physical Therapy: But then I stumbled upon Enhanced Physical Therapy and the contrast could not have been bigger. When I came in for the first time, Dr. Jacob made a very thorough assessment of my body and my complaints. He communicated extremely clearly what he thought was the cause and what his next point of actions would look like. I visited them religiously twice a week for several months. Every time I came in, I felt taken seriously and that I received the proper time of 1:1 care. He always kept it real and made sure to manage my expectations (that things are not solved overnight, ha). We did not finish the treatment due to competing priorities. Cant give an average of 2.5stars and didnt want to be mean with 2. Prices were reasonable. More gym equipment than the average PT office. No massage which is ok (he doesnt believe massages helps, although I feel occasional massages or foam rolling helps me, but I'm no expert). I came in about 2x a week for 2-3months as instructed. I came in with confidence as dr. Kurian spent a lot of time with me during the 1st visit to evaluate me. He sounded very knowledgable but I'm no expert to know. Only thing that felt off is he said my body was uneven at certain places. Found it odd that I didnt notice unevenness. He tried to show me but I just moved on. After the initial visit, he spent close to no time with me but was often around treating others. For a guy coming 2x a week for months, I figured he'd check up on me if there was improvement but never did. I'm not a disrespectful person so i'm not sure why. After awhile, even though it's not my personality, I had to force reaching out to him to let him know how treatments been going . Maybe had no time because my pain was moderate compared to some and/or because I'm a younger guy when elders want more attention. Still, I paid the same money/time/trust and had a strong will to get better. Better to be transparent and tell me he won't follow up any time after initial consult. I figured I should still go thru the process. I had 5-6 different people working with me making it somewhat confusing to establish a relationship with anyone on how things are progressing. 1-3 main people would be better. Regimen stayed more or less the same for the time I was there. I did leave feeling somewhat better but not to my expectations. Unsure if its because of the service received or because PT can't help me much, but I intend to try one more place before giving up on PT and moving on to more aggressive approaches. read more

I can walk and I feel great thanks to Dr. Kurian and his dream team. I hurt my lower back, and I was literally bent and could hardly walk when I started going to the location. The enhanced physical therapy staff is friendly and professional. Dr. Kurian is a no-nonsense kind of doctor that takes the time to meet and work with all his patients. He is demanding but compassionate and exactly what I needed to regain my mobility and manage my pain without meds or surgery. About a year ago, I severely injured my knee in a kickboxing class. I'm a 48 year old woman who has been suffering from pain ever since this injury. Previous attempts at physical therapy were unsuccessful as there was no real improvement in my mobility and the pain had not subsided. After a referral from my orthopedist, I decided to give Dr. Kurian a go. On our first meeting, Dr. Kurian gave me a thorough examination and put me on a treatment plan which consisted of electrical stimulation with ice and a series of strengthening and stretching exercises. At first I was unable to do any of the exercises and Dr. Kurian immediately recognized that I had some back problems that needed to be treated as well. He put me on the Mulligan Treatment Method which I started at 3 sessions per week. Before this treatment I was unable to complete any exercise to address my knee pain. After only a few sessions, the exercises were more manageable and I found that both my back and knee pain were beginning to go away. After three months of therapy I began to notice a marked improvement in my mobility and the pain is now almost non existent. I have since been able to fulfill my dreams of traveling and have spent 20 days abroad in both India and Italy since this past March, which would have otherwise been impossible without this treatment. I highly recommend Dr. Kurian to anyone who is currently suffering from any sort of injury and has either never tried physical therapy or has been unsuccessful in previous attempts. This is a great place to get therapy. I came in miserable and in pain and left with a new lease on life! I am finally pain free after suffering for almost a year with back, hip and thigh pain all related to a fall and also found out I had scoliosis. The therapists are all professional and very knowledgeable, the rest of the staff is also amazing. I tried to treat myself before I came here but only managed to exacerbate my ailments. The therapists showed me all the right exercises, did some hands on therapy, and I feel invigorated, strong, and much better informed. read more

I would not give this place 1 star. Horrible service and staff. Staff is so unprofessional, I am surprised this place is still open and no one had complained so far. I was there this morning for a therapy session and tried to use my benefits card for co pay, and I was told that I had to pay a minimum of $25, when my copay is only $10. As usual, like anyone else I asked why to which they had no answer. Dr. Kurian was extremely rude, he yelled, blamed and insulted me for asking that question. What are they trying to hide? Not only did they waste my time, they have no sympathy for patients. All along I was standing there in pain and going through this mental torture. I wish someone had written a review, so I would not wasted my time and saved from this torture. Had I known they were so unprofessional, I would never have taken an appointment at this place in the first place. They acted like they are the only one that provides this service. When I called insurance provider, they gave me 50 other places and this place was not even on this list. New patients BEWARE. My advice is always ask your insurance providers for a list. These places are filtered out from the list provided by insurance providers. read more

Excellent, competent, friendly-everyone knows your name and story, helpful- they set you up but don't just leave you. they watch you to make sure you are doing the exercises correctly and immediately correct you. they work you hard but always with compassion. And because of that you get good results. i have been to them for back problems which they helped on the first visit whereas the other 7 p/t places i had been to did not help hardly at all. went to them after rotator cuff surgery, prior and after bilateral knee replacement, and torn tenons in the other shoulder. they stretch you out if necessary and have never hurt me. the facility is kept clean. dr. jacob used the Mulligin treatment on me which was extremely helpful. i have complete confidence in them and would not go to anyone else even though they are not near my home. read more

I suffered a stoke and came to Enhanced with weakness and balance problems. My balance and walking is much improved. My exercises vary by session and new exercises are added so I do not get bored. The staff knows just how hard to push and encourage me. The equipment at Enhanced are start of the art and kept spotlessly clean. I have been dealing with many sports and weight lifting injuries since I was 18 years old (24 now). Went to many doctors and physical therapist through out the years and none of them were able to help the slightest bit. I have only gone in for 10 visits so far, but I am so thankful that I found this office. Dr.Kurian and his team have helped me so much with pain that I was having in my lower back, hip, and knees. With every excercise I learn I am told what I have to do to complete it properly and what it is important for. Dr.Kurian uses the Mulligan Concept which has help tremendously with my lower back. When he uses the Mulligan Munipulation techniques I am able to painlessly touch my toes which I was not able to do prior to my visits. Dr.Kurian also informed me that I have scoliosis which I was not informed of beforehand. Although I am not at excellent condition yet I have already seen so much improvement and am willing to continue with the process. Everyone at the office is friendly and it's a welcoming environment. I am writing this review prior to being completely recovered and I will follow up soon after I'm done with my physical therapy with Dr. Jacob Kurian and his hard-working and compassionate team. This is not my first time going to physical therapy--over the years since 2009 I have been to couple of different places and they all have a slightly different approach from one another. However, I only felt relief for a few hours post-treatment from the PTs that have worked on my neck and back. I was diagnosed with a cervical herniation at levels C5-C6 and C6-C7. In addition, I started to experience pain in my low back/posterior and down my right leg a few years later. For a long time now I've been experiencing stiff neck upon waking up and throughout the day, as well as radiating pain down my arm that also came from the compressed nerves from my neck. I stopped going to physical therapy after some time and restarted once the pain was out of control for my neck at STARS PT. Although, the PT helped relieve symptoms temporarily for a few hours it was not a complete resolution for my neck and back pain. I had used up all my visits through my insurance so I stopped going. I began taking Ibuprofen 600-800 mg as needed for my pain while I was not attending PT. Unfortunately, there were not many pain medications that my stomach could tolerate. As of January, I began studying for my boards and sat for long periods of time and one day I hurt my back--I went home after studying, because I realized my pain was not getting any better and it kept progressing to the point where I was on my bedroom floor in pain and could not move much. Went to the hospital the same night, suffered in pain for hours until the ER doctor at Northshore LIJ saw me and gave an oral steroid and an injection for ketorolac (NSAID). Long story short, I followed up with my orthopedic specialist who referred me to a pain management doctor (Dr. Chacko), who then referred me to Dr. Jacob Kurian. To be very frank, I had given up hope that another physical therapist would've helped me get better. In the back of my mind I knew I was either going to go for surgery for my neck and/or multiple epidural injections for my low back. I was told by the surgeon at Brooklyn hospital back in 2008 that I would need surgery for my neck and that's something I kept pushing off, because I did not believe that would be the last. Nor did I believe that I will be a 100% after the surgery. I also had a 2nd opinion from another surgeon and received the same advice, but I was not ready to submit to surgery. I gave it a last try and made an appointment with Dr. Kurian's office. I went for my evaluation a week later in mid-February after finishing my course of oral steroids that was prescribed by my Orthopedic specialist. I was evaluated one-on-one with Dr. Jacob Kurian in a separate room. He was very thorough while evaluating me for my low back and I knew something was different about his approach almost immediately due to my experience with other PTs. He assessed me in many different ways to determine my range of motion and what movements caused pain. Later he explained to me about the mulligan approach (which I had barely heard about before meeting him). On my 2nd visit to his office he had applied the mulligan technique on me and it's basically movement with mobilization that's supposed to be pain-free. I really didn't think that was possible given my complicated situation with my back and my neck. Today I am still with Dr. Jacob Kurian and his team. If you're wondering why am I still going to Enhanced Physical Therapy and seeing Dr. Kurian 3 times a week for my back and my neck now? that's because I have seen results and I have experienced relief from the radiating pain down my right leg (lateral side to my calf). I have also experienced relief from the radiating pain down my right arm where it can be really debilitating. I am currently studying for my pharmacy board exams and have not been able to sit in one position for too long due to my neck/back pain. Dr. Kurian was aware of that and corrected my form and told me to diligently see him 3x/week if I want to see results. Due to the amount of stress from studying and life of course it's been difficult to manage pain on my own. I can confidently say if it was not for Dr. Kurian and his team I would not be able to study at all for my boards. He is aggressive with his treatment approach, but because he's compassionate and wants to see his patients get better. He will do what it takes, either that being staying late and cut into his lunch period or staying later after hours to make sure the patient gets the proper treatment. I truly have yet to see anyone like him and his ultimate desire to achieve his patients health to 100%. I am looking forward to completing my physical therapy with Dr. Jacob Kurian and getting completely better (current recovery: ~60 - 70%), as well as passing my boards to become a successful pharmacist! read more
