While I was browsing through local Knick-knack stores on Yelp, I came across a picture of mug with a statement that was extremely relatable to my daily live. Wanna know what that was? Sure, there you go. "This Meeting is Bullsh*t." We wanted to give this mug to hubby's superior because he has got the sense of humor, and we knew he would appreciate this. We visited "Enjoy, an Urban General Store" in Lincoln Square on a Saturday evening. It was certainly poppin' with customers who were doing their last-minute Christmas shopping. We didn't face too much difficulty to locate the walls of mugs. Beside purchasing that "bullsh*t meeting" mug, hubby got me a "let that sh*t go" mug. It also featured a funky yoga pose, which cracked me up! There were other fun, giftable items for individuals with personality (perhaps with subtle vulgarness or sarcasm). Any pet lovers on your list of gift-giving? I would say check this place out because they probably would like some of the whimsical messages. As expected, a cool, hip shop like this wasn't going to be a dollar store nesting in the neighborhood corner. I was fully aware of the higher price tags, yet I adored lots of unique things I saw there and was willing to splurge a bit. The associates were cheerful and friendly. Gift-wrapping service was available upon request. We were also informed that they had a temporary pop-up shop for the holidays at the Old Paciugo location nearby. I believe this allowed the rest of backstock merchandise to display and helped increase sales. In addition, patronizing local businesses is always a good idea. I was glad that I did so. This strip of Lincoln Square is close to the CTA Western Brown Line station. For those who choose to drive, paid street parking can be found along Lawrence Ave.

There were probably at least 50 items I wanted to buy while I was here. Cute, sassy, pun-ny, rude, quirky, sarcastic, ridiculous, prideful - you name it, they got it. This is my kind of store. So many items spoke to me on a deep level that for a sec I thought they were reading my mind I ended up buying a coin purse and a zipper pouch by Blue Q - a line of pencil cases, totes, coin purses, different size pouches etc. made with 95% recycled material... so many fun designs and very durable! Would definitely recommend this place if you're gift-shopping or just feel like treating yourself :)

My tree is now complete

Enjoy has something for everyone, I think. From candles that smell like your favorite cocktails (Sazerac, Mint Julep, etc), to horse head masks and crazy cat lady action figures, you're sure to find something you most definitely don't need but will buy anyway because...crazy cat lady action figure. This is a great stop for unique gifts, fun socks, cards, kids stuff and especially white elephant gifts. Where else are you going to find a Christmas ornament of a pink and purple unicorn dressed in lederhosen? You know your tree NEEDS this to be complete. Prices seemed decent, there's a good amount of parking nearby and it's only a block or so off the Brown line.

What a "statement" general store! Need somethin fun and unique that you wouldn't find on the shelves of your big box store? Hard to please friend that says you didn't pick up a last minute gift at the drug store? Whether you or that "friend" is younger or older.. you can find desk stuff, art pieces, functional home goods, jewelry, and funky things like sock puppets. I know, I got you at sock puppets! Oh and funny shaped ice to spice up your life! Another fabulous reason to stop in! You can't get to Lincoln Square? They've got their goods available for sale online. It doesn't take the place of teetering around in this cute store, but it'll do if you just can't get here. It sort of reminds you of that popular online store catered to the creative-types. But, I've found my new go-to for unique finds in one stop for those in my life I want cheer up or thank! Thanks E!

Enjoy has so many cute and unique gag gifts! It's also a great place to buy Chicago souvenirs. Be sure to visit the funny magnet selection at the back of the store. For the young and old, there's a little something for everyone.

Cute packing!!

Product selection is great, fun place to shop. Always find multiple items. Actually only went in there for a hat but left over $150 later.

I recently visited this store with my friends, and we were treated absolutely unfairly. After…read morebrowsing and peacefully walking out (without buying anything), one of the workers came running after us and accused us of stealing. We were shocked, confused, and honestly embarrassed, in public for something we didn't do. They didn't ask politely or explain anything. They just assumed. No proof. No apology. nothing We cooperated and showed them we had nothing, and instead of admitting their mistake, they gave us attitude and let us go like we were guilty. This kind of treatment is completely unacceptable, especially when you treat young customers like criminals just because we're teens or don't "look" like your usual shoppers. We came to shop, not to be profiled or harassed. I will not be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this store to anyone who values basic respect.

She is on the phone. "Hi, may I take a quick picture?"…read moreI asked politely. The lady responded, "no photo, goodbye." While this short poem pretty much sums up my 30-second visit at Oriental Boutique, it is also an acrostic that describes the lady's attitude and the service. I was looking for a traditional Chinese dress (i.e. Qi Pao) for my girlfriend, whom I am going to marry. However, most of the designs cater to kids or tourists (that might explain why most positive reviews were written by non-Asian customers... just saying!) and very few of them are for adults. As someone who grew up in an ethnically Chinese background, I had seen and worn more culturally authentic and better designed traditional gowns and dresses. Many designs displayed in the store seem "oriental" in a western sense or as in what westerners think "oriental" should look like, but this is just my subjective observation and honest opinion. The lady was on the phone all the time, and when I asked her question, she literally answered, "no photo, goodbye." Okay. BYE. NEVER AGAIN! Wish I could have given a zero or a negative number.
