We had recently bought a house and wanted to put wood in the two front rooms and master bedroom. This review is long overdue. Brian is awesome! We purchased gorgeous engineered hardwood for our main living areas from another company and had several installation issues (it was horrific). We contacted Brian at Enmar as we tried to navigate our options. He was professional, honest, and very helpful. Fast forward a year or so and we decided to put the same flooring in our bedrooms and reached right back out to Brian! He was great, he got the same material (because it really is beautiful), gave us a good quote, his team was pleasant, on-time, and had fantastic attention to detail...especially because I had such a poor experience with another company previously - I'm sure I was a little extra! Very knowledgeable and responsive. Jhoan did a beautiful job in my home office. Prices were competitive and the knowledge of wood flooring from Armando and the staff is top notch. They provided several options to get the floor height level with the stone tile in the hallways. I selected a thicker rubber underlayment. They removed and replaced my baseboards. There was one minor issue I noticed later, but the team responded right away to address it. If you are putting in wood floors, this is the place. They are very knowledgeable and have awesome customer service. I purchased flooring from them but used my contractor for installation. That was a mistake! We had some issues after the installation with hollow spots. The contractor send someone out to fix it and he made it worse. After 3 days of work and their "fix", I had a raised piece of wood in the middle of the floor, staples in the floor and hollow spots. I called Brian for advice and while he didn't do the install, he sent someone out to give me a plan on how to fix. I worked it out with my contractor and Brian's team repaired my floor in about 4 hours. I can't recommend this company enough. I would give them a 10! read more

Enmar is the only place you need to go for your hardwood flooring needs. Trust me, stay the hell out of Lumber Liquidators unless you want cheap garbage. The owners are very personable, patient, and willing to go the extra mile for the sale. We borrowed several sanples to take home to see how we liked it in the room. We finally settled on a flooring and found out it was backordered. We were bummed due to the urgency of getting our first baby's nursery completed. Brian called the supplier and was able to get what we needed weeks ahead of the stated availability. The installer was polite and courteous and worked quickly. We were considering using lumber liquidators or Home Depot, but happen to stumble across Enmar before we made a decision. After meeting with Brian, the owner, and seeing their flooring we decided to support a local small business. Everything he said they'd do they did and we were very impressed with the work of the installers. They cleaned up after themselves before they left and answered all of our questions throughout the entire process. Brian was helpful, patient, and friendly while we chose a flooring material from their showroom (which features only engineered hardwood). Although their selection is large, most of them were out of our budget. However, we were still able to find something for a reasonable price. The installation cost was competitive and included cutting the existing baseboards up a bit to fit the new flooring. Flooring was ordered and arrived on time. Install crew was hard working and friendly. Although they did work pretty late and sometimes seemed like they were rushing. The end result looks great and Brian made sure we were happy. He happily agreed to fix the couple small issues and they did a great job making some difficult transitions to uneven tile. A previous owner's remodel did not use the same size baseboards on one wall which left a gap with the new floor. Although not at all the fault of the installers, Brian offered to install new baseboards to fit if I was able to purchase them. True to his word, all small issues were rectified and the new baseboards were installed! I would absolutely go back to Enmar Hardwood Flooring for my next job. read more

Great company. We did engineered hardwood on our entire second floor (Except bathrooms), stairways and a guest room on the first floor. Armando took care of planning/managing our job and he did an excellent job. He is really knowledgeable about floors, and he never tried to sell one product over another. He answered ALL our questions and addressed all of our concerns. The installers, one of them named Carlos, worked fast, clean, and were very punctual. In addition, they explained every little detail of the installation as they went through. When they were finished, they left everything super clean. In addition they moved furniture around which a lot of other companies told me they did not. As far as pricing, I got about 4 additional estimates, and they were right within the ballpark. I decided to select them based on their knowledge, professionalism and the fact that they had a good variety of products in their store. I came across Enmar on a whim but so happy I did! I talked with several other companies -- mostly because I saw ads for them or discount coupons (which really weren't discounts). The showroom is really cool, and Brian (the owner) really knows his stuff. He was not pushy whatsoever, very kind, very knowledgeable, and really a genuine good guy. Enmar offers a lot of the very nice, very unique woods. For every wood I considered, Brian was able to help me thing through quality, durability, care, and educated me so much in the process. His knowledge is an incredible added value. I had my floors done in April and they are gorgeous. I willl be doing a few more rooms when I get the chance. If there was 10 stars to give, I would give Brian and Enmar a 10! As to the earlier bad review from another reviewer, I think Brian bought the company just a few years ago, so that review has nothing to do with the current business or ownership. *************** UPDATE: 1/17/2017 I went back to Enmar to get another room done. All flooring previously installed is in great shape, and I have had no issues. The latest work was one more room. Brian found my wood quickly and negotiated a discount for me. What I most appreciated though is that the installers (Canice and team) were diligent and conscientious! They knew I was concerned about the mess (and flooring install tends to be messy). So, they took extra effort to contain it to the room at hand. They worked through the window, so they didn't have to drag things back and forth through my house. I recently had Enmar replace our stairs and loft that was carpeted with hardwood flooring. Brian was very helpful in explaining the different types of wood and what would work best for us. I was able to take several samples home and decide what we wanted to do , without any pressure. The flooring has been in about a month and we are extremely pleased with the results. I had a wonderful experience with ENMAR. My four rooms turned out beautifully and Carlos was GREAT. He really went the extra mile to make sure my other floors were protected while he worked and he was super clean as well. He told me there would not be a lot of dust and he was correct. I had little to do when he walked out the door. He even used Boni floor cleaner on the completed floors so I had only to get the furniture back in place. They let me know when they would arrive and he kept me up to date every day on when they would finish the job so I could get my movers back in. I recently had all of the tile flooring in our home removed and replaced with engineered wood. I had interviewed four people for the job. Enmar was definitely the best as far as product, knowledge, helpfulness, price, and just nice people with whom to do business! Brian impressed me from the very beginning...especially when I asked about tile removal. He took business away from his own company by telling me that they would remove the tile, but, honestly, we would be far better off to hire Colyn Macdonald of Kodiak Tile/Dustless Tile Removal. He was absolutely right in his recommendation...but, my main point is that he wanted what was BEST FOR THE CLIENT, at his own expense! Brian is very easy going and always gave me the time I needed, to talk about concerns and to give his input to help ease the decision making process. He is honest, and knowledgeable about his product. His installers, Canice and Jerod were both pleasant people who were very easy to have working in the house. They were hard workers, (NO wasting of time while here, for sure!) knowledgeable and talented. Their work was exact, they were neat, and left absolutely no mess at all. And...our dog fell in love with Canice. hahaha That says something. I have already recommended Enmar Flooring to several friends. That says something, as well! BUYER BEWARE: They are trying to charge for install of materials they never install. I visited the show room and was helped by a man named Patrick. He was very nice and together we picked out wood for my home. He told me the cost of the materials ($4.40/sq ft) and the install price of $3.18 a sq ft which was to include: tear out of existing floor and baseboard, the glue for the new wood floors, and re-installation of the baseboard. He indicated he would have it written up and a contract would be send over to sign via email shortly. Tricia did so, but the contract was not as agreed. It added $100 for tear out and re-installation of baseboard. I called and spoke with Patrick and he indicated he would speak with Tricia and correct it. They phoned two days later and said he was wrong and they needed to charge the extra $100. I indicated that I would pull off and reinstall the baseboard myself and to adjust and resend the contract accordingly. They did so, but then added extra cost in the way of trying to charge me for the install of waste materials (6%). This is the extra wood cuts that I have already paid for and do not actually get installed, but thrown away. I called Patrick and he said that is a mistake, and they do not charge for that and he indicated he would have Tricia correct and resend the contract that day. 3 days past and nothing was sent so I called and spoke with Tricia. She was extremely rude and hostile and indicated that they normally do not charge for this, but since I was using a promotion they were having, they were adding it on. I said that sounded unreasonable and a little like discrimination. She hung up the phone.The problem to all this lays in the fact that I came into the store and agreed to Patrick's terms and then paid $500 to enter their promotion. So now I am stuck in the promotion and work has still not been done. I have filed this complaint against them to the BBB.org and will also file a complaint with ROC should it not be addressed properly. People deserve to know about their dishonesty. read more

My wife and I did our research before choosing ENMAR and we are very pleased with every step of this process. We thought we knew which type of wood color would work, but we didn't. Brian helped save us some time by pointing us in the right direction and encouraging us to look at the wood samples in the daylight and night. We couldn't be happier with our classy wood floor. They did outstanding install of engineered hardwood flooring on two bedrooms and two hallways. Brian, the owner, went out of his way to find materials. Initially, we considered using Home Depot with their engineered hardwood flooring. They outsource it to another company but we were not entirely confident. Besides, we like using "mom and pop" companies. He used a subcontractor named Mike Sharp. His group works very hard & he can handle many unforeseen situations. For example, we had a crack in the foundation where he did a wonderful patch so that the flooring would be smooth. Also, he did quite a bit of undercutting of the baseboards. The hardwood flooring fits about an eighth to a quarter inch under the baseboard. (tip: learn the difference between installing regular hardwood flooring and engineered hardwood flooring. We've had engineered custom hardwood flooring in a large area near our front door for 20 years and it takes a lot of abuse. It can be refinished easily every 10-13 years.) (another tip: ALWAYS use a licensed contractor. ALWAYS check the website of the Arizona Registrar of Contractors to see if they have any unresolved complaints. Some companies claim they are licensed but they are not.) read more

I thought we were dealing with a water damaged floor, but when I reached out to Brian and sent him photos, he immediately called me back and let me know it looked like termites. Turns out he was right! So we treated the termites, and then two months later, when it was time to fix the floor, I reached out to Brian again. He was so incredibly helpful. He provided a quote for the floor fix and explained the work it would entail. He then provided another option and explained how it could be fixed with just a handyman or even my husband and myself. He also took a look at the extra flooring in our garage and suggested we bring it inside so the heat wouldn't warp it over time. Oh, and he took a look at a few other areas where I had questions about our floor and provided the answers I needed. After all that, we didn't have a need for him and his services. But he didn't seem to mind. What an honest, kind man! He clearly knows everything when it comes to flooring and he just wants to help. We had our floors refinished less than a year ago. It was a costly project and it took close to four weeks. The floors had to be redone because the first time the stain was not evenly applied. Over the year the top coat or finish seems to be very weak. We have felt squares on the bottoms of all our chairs and stools and there are still scratches in the top coat. The company has been purchased in the last year and the new management came out to look at the finish and we were told that it is just normal wear and tear. We have had a number of wood floors in different homes and never have the floors "worn" like this. He explained to me that it was because they use a water base top coat (which is according to them the best commercial grade) and that maybe an oil based top coat would wear differently. If this is true than it should be brought to the customers attention at the beginning of the project which finish they use and the potential outcomes. Bottom line: If you don't like your floors looking like they have a lot of scuffs, scratches or scrapes do not use Enmar to refinish your floors. read more
