I hired Eliab of The Good Tile to remove our 90s bleh kitchen floor tile, remove our backsplash…read moretile, and install over 300 square feet of new flooring tile plus new backsplash, and extensive accent wall tiling in the backsplash tile. My new floor tile has a pattern, and the backsplash tiles were 2.4" x 8" ceramic hand glaze ceramic tiles, and so neither would be easy to install unless the tile installer was very skilled. I thought the review photos on Yelp showed Eliab already has an extensive body of work done well, and I loved that he specializes in tile so I knew that he should be very competent at it. And he and his guys Salvi and Rafael were excellent! They worked hard and did very precise work. That was a ton of cuts and joints to line up perfectly with all that subway tile, and it looks wonderful. The cuts around light switches and power receptacles: also precise. He was as good as his word about showing up, doing it right, and cleaning up as they went. He earned my trust, was good to work with, and I would happily hire him again. I definitely recommend! I will post pictures for now as is - but keep in mind the construction is still going on so they will not look as great as they should. I'll try to remember to update our photos when the remodel is truly done.

If I recall, I think we did a facetime chat and I provided pictures for his quote. He was very responsive both on text and phone when I asked questions to coordinate with our carpenter. Unfortunately, that experience was a disaster. The floors were never properly flattened, and the installation was a complete botch job. We found Julian online, and from the start he was professional, knowledgeable, and confident in how to fix the situation. He came by, explained how he could remove the damaged flooring and would install everything correctly, and gave us a reasonable timeline and rate. We decided to move forward with him, and we are so glad we did. Julian and his two crew members were outstanding. They were always on time, incredibly respectful of our home, and as clean and careful as possible throughout the project. Their professionalism and attention to detail really stood out. Julian also kept us updated throughout the process by sending photos and videos along the way, which gave us a lot of peace of mind and helped us see the progress being made. He also went above and beyond when we asked to add extra work to the job, including tiling our fireplace and removing a built-in bookshelf. Not only did they handle those tasks beautifully, but they patched the wall and ceiling so well that you would never even know the bookshelf had been there. We had a horrible experience with Floored. Most of the finishing work had to be rescheduled 3 or 4…read moretimes because their sub-contractors just didn't show up. Not sure why our original review was taken down by Yelp? We had our bathroom tile chipped by someone working for Floored. Also, the days they were here our bathroom was disgusting...other contractors did not leave our bathroom covered in urine, that was them. Probably the worst was the attitude of owner, Ty Storey, getting upset with me when his tile guy installed the wrong tile. In an agitated state he angrily stated it was not his fault the vendor sent the wrong tile, to which I agreed. However, it was his fault the wrong tile was installed --- the Floored staff should do better than rely on the client to accept the wrong tile. That's what he wanted me to do. That tile sat in their warehouse or store for over a week before it was installed...absolutely no one checked to see if it matched what was ordered. Our experience with Floored continued to be unpleasant because of the horrible relationship they have with their sub-contracted installers. The client is put in the middle having to reschedule after last minute cancellations and no-shows. Nightmare! A very expensive and tedious nightmare.
