I made a "first time client" appointment with Zen Balance on a recent work trip! I cannot recommend a post-airplane massage ENOUGH. I had developed this terrible lower back kink from carrying around my backpack - making this massage even more of a game changer! This spot is a little bit hard to find which makes ride sharing difficult. My Uber dropped me off in the wrong location so I had to walk around for a bit to find the entrance. Not a huge deal, but just so you're aware. My time booking the appointment was really pleasant and everyone I interacted with upon arrival was lovely. Not to mention the fact that, at $50, this is one of the best massages for the price that I've had. Omy was awesome and made the experience comfortable. I wish we had spent a bit more time on my back as that is what was giving me the biggest problems, but I left feeling SO much better. To avoid the ride sharing problem I walked over to the Walgreens next door to grab a bottle of water. PSA: I do NOT recommend walking really anywhere in Phoenix in June, but especially not post-massage. Overall, I would absolutely come back to Zen Balance, but please note that this is not a spa and the relaxation component will be in your massage room only (waiting area is small and office-like.) Went here cause my darling daughter got me a gc through Groupon for Mother's Day. I had never heard of Mary Ann's Massage, but she said it got good reviews. I was encouraged. I looked online as well and looked at their website. Most of the massage therapists do not have a bio. Oh, well. And, yes, it does get good reviews. I called for an appointment. I didn't ask for any specific person, but I was happy to hear that my therapist would be Dora, one of the two that has a bio on the website and does get good reviews on Yelp. Went to the office. A pleasant woman was sitting behind the desk. I told her I had an appointment with Dora, and since I was early, Dora was in an appointment. I was given a form to fill out,which I proceeded to sit in the hall so I could fill it out. The woman left and locked the door. I thought, "Hmmm. Guess I better wait in the hall." It was comfy though, with plenty of chairs, and even a place for me to lie down since I wasn't feeling 100%. Dora asked me what kind of massage I wanted. I told her I wanted what could be considered medium to deep, but I told her the terms are relative. I just don't want my therapist trying to grind down my shoulder blades cause she thinks it's a knot in my muscles! Which seemed to be popular in the past. Dora is the best. Gave me the perfect massage. She probably thought I was asleep, which I was partly, but I was still conscious of what was going on. It was comforting and relaxing and the hot towel treatment was a good topper off to my experience. I am attaching the photos for the current specials. I think I will buy a package. My therapist, Michaela, was not only really skilled, but she was so nice and kind. I arrived early, but they were running behind, and she felt so bad about this. It was impressive how seriously she took customer service and appointment times. The place is tastefully decorated, conveniently located, and this might be strange, but it smells really nice! My morning's workout was leg day for me so when she went to work on my thighs, whew! It hurt so good, I didn't realize I needed emphasis there. Felt at peace, and relaxed. It was a perfectly serene atmosphere to get pampered. Didnt get what I was wanting, but service was great. I had Melissa, and she was nothing but sweet and informative right from the start. I just wanted something stronger and deeper, but the massage was more soothing and relaxing. I usually feel like a noodle after massages, but after this one, i didnt even feel like napping. If looking for a relaxing massage, this is the place! If looking for that "small asian lady power massage" look some place else. My gf and I visited Zen balance massage about a week ago and had a couples massage with Erika and Marry Ann and wow! We both felt it was definitely one of our fave top 10 massages we've ever had. Mind you, we've both had literally hundreds of massages over the years so this says A lot! The room was quiet, cozy, clean, nice smelling with soft music. Our therapists were warm, friendly, very skilled and we both felt they had a wonderful way of doing small things that usually other therapists don't even think about. There was a "flow" to the massage where you didn't think any thought at all except wow, this is so good, hope it never ends. We'll DEFINITELY be back, highly recommend. This is the second time I have been to Dora, and she cares for whatever tension needs you have. I only have one suggestion/"issue", but nothing that would make me not want to come back. Since the space shares a floor with other companies and people pass just outside your massage door, people can be heard while you're getting a massage. Everyone I have had listens to my needs, the pressure I like. I'm always asked if there are any particular needs I have this time, and each therapist takes this in to account. Ann was my therapist and she was amazing; one of, if not the best, massages I'd ever received! I liked her so much I told my mom about her and she also started seeing Ann regularly, more than me actually. We had been former members of Massage Envy and felt they were more about quantity than quality.
