I would've highly recommended this place a year or so ago, but they are the most expensive place in town and you can probably find better quality elsewhere. Parents pay $400 per week per child and are fed ham sandwiches multiple times each week. Teachers come and go because after 90 days, they realize that this employer is a scam. Health insurance is not affordable and teachers with children still pay a large portion of their checks for their children to be enrolled. Teachers are great individuals but are not paid according to their responsibilities and duties. Multiple teachers are given out of ratio classrooms and are asked to do more per shift because of employee turnover: STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

Addressing the concern about employees and English skills, there are several employees who were born in other countries and for whom English is clearly a second language. I was actually really pleased to see that my son would be exposed to such a diverse group of people so early in life. I've never had trouble communicating about his needs and his pediatrician was blown away by his verbal skills at his last well visit, so I know his language development is just fine. I have zero direct knowledge of the staff pay, so I can't address concerns about staff being underpaid. I certainly hope that isn't the case because they are wonderful.

Aside from frequent minor issues, the decision was easily made when speaking to one of the directors, Morgan, about a concern we had. Our 4-month-old was not fed for 5 hours (until we got home). The daily report had a false entry of a feeding within those 5 hours, which is likely why the teachers thought not to feed. After being given many questionable excuses, Morgan concluded that our baby fell asleep right before being fed. And when he woke up, he was in line to eat behind other babies, but we ended up picking him up. So, within the 5 hours, he napped 1 hour, and we picked him up 40 minutes after he woke up. You can do the math there. But wouldn't this mean that he should be first in line to eat? Why is he waiting to be fed for so long? She then told me that the teachers were aware that he needed to eat, which is not what the teachers told me over the phone. Another reason I didn't believe Morgan was because the teachers have been amazing with notifying me of such things during pick up or over the phone. Morgan must not think very highly of the teachers to be saying that to me. Morgan asked me what can she do here? - You're the director. I would have been much more appreciative and remained in Goddard if you honestly told me that the teachers followed the false entry, and that you will take xyz actions to prevent that and regain our trust in Goddard. Instead, you were not trying to solve anything and simply put the blame on a short nap and us coming in to pick up. Other daycares ensured me there is no such thing as having a baby wait in line to eat, because they have floater staff. Mistakes happen and I fully understand that. But the call with Morgan made me feel that my baby is not a priority to you. No one followed up with me or did anything to try and correct the situation. I'm happy to provide details to anyone who would like to learn more and decide for themselves.

It's obvious they genuinely love what they do, and they care for the children as if they were their own. One thing that really stands out is the food--they serve healthy, well-balanced, thoughtfully planned meals each week, which gives us such peace of mind. As a parent, one of my favorite things is the communication throughout the day. Receiving pictures, updates, and little glimpses into my child's day means more than I can put into words. Those updates are such a thoughtful touch and something I truly appreciate. Like many first-time parents, I had plenty of nerves about sending my child to daycare. But Little Sunshine's quickly erased those fears. We've always felt confident that our child is safe, loved, learning, and thriving every single day! Both kids are absolutely thriving in the warm, supportive environment at LSP. The school itself is beautiful, clean and modern. It's a nut-free facility, including peanuts. The director, Heather, and all of the staff are friendly and caring. Miss Elizabeth and Ms. Melissa are phenomenal helping to support our child's potty training efforts and encouraging her creativity. Ms. Allie and Ms. Lyssi are absolute cheerleaders for our little one's development and give us wonderfully detailed daily updates on his activities and accomplishments. LSP has a proprietary, user-friendly app for daily check in/check out, real-time updates (eating, diaper changes, etc) and sharing photos/videos. Seeing real-time updates helps parents follow their child's day and gives the opportunity to call or message with any questions or concerns. LSP a definitely a top tier childcare facility in this area. Tuition includes everything aside from diapers (food, baby wipes, even baby formula!). Linens for nap cots, cribs and even sleep sacks are provided and laundered daily. All meals and snacks, made in-house daily by their chef, are varied and healthy. Also included are extra curriculars! Every week our 3 year old has dance and karate classes. During the summer they had soccer lessons and water play days on the playground. They also have enrichment activities provided by their staff, like Spanish class with Ms. Josie and yoga with Mr. David. Our kiddo gets so excited for the extra curricular activities, which she likely wouldn't be able to participate in otherwise due to our work schedules. The thing that has impressed us the most at LSP is their understanding that all children develop at their own pace and they are willing to work with families on each child's timeline. For example, our baby wasn't ready to give up breastmilk at exactly 12 months, so his teachers worked with him to embrace eating solid foods during the day and gradually wean. LSP is also flexible with appointment schedules and accommodating drop offs even if they may coincide with nap time. LSP also does a wonderful job offering monthly special events to help include families, for example, Father's Day mini golf, Thanksgiving lunch, and a holiday singing program. The Montessori approach is present in everything and I cannot express how good they are with these students. The families are building community and meeting for playdates - no one is left out. We like the curriculum, love the teachers, and the work our son produces shows us his improvement. If you are interested in Montessori for your child - do a little research about it and then call HMA, they really are top notch.

All teachers (100%) quit for "personal reasons" within about a two week period of each other in the spring of 2018 and were asked not to speak about the director negatively on their way out. Shouldn't be hard to put 2 and 2 together there. They also charge exorbitantly for the number of hours they are open relative to what other places in the area charge. They are closed for full weeks in December, March, and May yet still charge the full monthly fee. If you need to drop your child off earlier than 9 or pick them up after 3, there are extra charges, too.
