Half Moon pose needs to be renamed to Half Moon Bay pose because of this studio. Enso is wonderful enough to make me want to move to HMB. I have gone running past Enso several times and finally drove 30 minutes this morning to take Amy's Sunday morning class. I expected rustic because of the pictures of the wood stove and eclectic Arts & Crafts style of the exterior but I was completely mistaken. The interior is gallery minimalist with a few pieces of beautiful art and an older grand piano that is covered is smoky mirrored mosaic tiles. I cannot do it justice to desribe the light and energy in the space but will say that in my first ardha chandrasana I looked out the window and saw the ocean, the second ardha chandrasana I looked out the window and people were riding by on horses and the third ardha chandrasana I saw runners and people walking their dogs. Ardha Chandrasana, Half Moon pose is forever Half Moon Bay pose in my body because of this special place. This is worth the drive from Silicon Valley to HMB if you appreciate quality yoga and art. read more

Stumbled upon Enso while searching for a yoga studio when I first moved to the coast. So happy I found it! All the classes are fantastic. All of the instructors are super supportive and helpful. Keep in mind that each instructor has his/her own style, so if you are not in love with one....try another. I have learned so much from all of the instructors here. Prices are really reasonable. They have mats and other supplies you can borrow too! People are extremely friendly here and I LOVE that it is next to the ocean and you can hear the waves crashing! If you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy your yoga practice, you will not be disappointed by stopping at ENSO! read more

This is a fantastic venue for a special event. The setting is lovely, across from the beach, and a great energy throughout the building. HOWEVER, the communication between myself and Mauro was difficult. I think problems could have been solved if there was a contract, or something in writing. We had only email communications about price. Even then, certain things were said to be included and then not available. After 2 months of trying to find a caterer because he was not available, he told me that he had booked the venue for something else-I had to remind him of our conversation to be able to use the venue. The final straw was the day after the event, I was told (again by email) that I still owed money - that I had only paid half, because I had changed the details of my event. I do not think this is fair and ethical business practice. It is my fault for not insisting on a written contract, detailing what the price included and didn't include. I have learned my lesson. read more

Went to Enso yesterday for first time to attend the Yin class taught by Kerry. what a lovely place, lovely atmosphere. lots of people just trying to find peace and serenity and no one there who was interested in whether the person next to them was bent like a pretzel or not. This lovely converted barn is the host to several yoga classes each week. The location is beautiful. You can see the ocean from the windows and even hear the gulls and the waves. Located in small town Half Moon Bay I thought I'd found a gem. But.....even after three years taking multiple classes per week I found that the primary teacher there still often acted as if she'd never met me before. As much as I wanted to like the place I found the vibe to be much too clickey for my tastes. I had to move back to the city to find warm, supportive yoga teachers.... go figure... read more

This yoga studio is a second home to me. It sits only a few strides from Kelly Ave State Beach in Half Moon Bay and every savasana is blessed by the sound of crashing waves. The teachers are great. Natalie, Courtney, Amy and George are my personal favorites. The cafe also has wonderfully creative vegetarian cuisine prepared by Mauro. Check it out for sure. Enso is a gorgeous yoga studio right on the beach in Half Moon Bay. There is a lovely art gallery in the waiting room, and they always serve freshly made tea. The owners are friendly, kind and caring. And the yoga teachers are knowledgeable and loving. I highly recommend practicing yoga at Enso. read more

Wow. What a place. If I would design my fantasy Yoga spot in proximity to where I live, it might look exactly like Enso. Enchanting. Spiritual and inspiring. I would put it steps away from the ocean- where the experience of getting there is as good as being there. Where, as you walk in to the Yoga space, you enter from outward endless nature and step into your own inward endless nature. Where you can see the ocean from an open window and hear and even feel the crashing surf hit the earth just a few yards away. I would make the structures from earthy aged wood, perhaps find an old historic barn to start with as a shell and around this make a center of health, spirituality, food and expression. Enso seems to be about all of this, though I've only just dabbled in a few of the Yoga classes so far. Meg's 7AM class is challenging and the happens at the perfect hour. I grew up on the Peninsula and this beach is in my backyard. I've seen so many sunsets here and swam in the freezing waters. The surrounding agricultural setting planted in the early morning fog is soothing to the soul. Getting there from San Mateo in the early morning is bearable and a great reason to escape the bustle of Silicon Valley on the other side of the hill. I'm hoping to try some massage and the cafe in the weeks ahead too, but for now the Yoga is doing it very well. After class I enjoy easing into my ride back home with a quick walk towards the ocean or on some trail nearby. read more

This is a really neat place in Half Moon Bay -- but, I haven't experienced their Yoga classes ;) We came here from the South Bay area to attend one of the psychic workshops, with the amazing Felix! I'm not sure if they rent out this location, but if they do, it's a really unique building, and would be a wonderful spot to host small events. Very clean establishment, and those in charge seemed to be very friendly. If I lived closer... I'd be checking out their classes for sure! read more

Beautiful space with wonderful, knowledgeable instructors, twists on poses you don't see at every yoga studio, sweet little garden, art classes and the most amazing location. The yoga room had a stove for hot yoga classes that gives off a lovely glow and you could see the sun setting over the ocean in the evening class I took today. read more

I've done yoga in many countries in the last 14 years and this is by far my favorite yoga studio! The setting is pure heaven on earth. You can hear the waves crashing on the beach nearby. The wind can be heard on the roof and the windows. In winter time there is a wood fire in the yoga room. In summer they open the windows for the sea breezes. So yes, the setting is heavenly. Then we get to the staff who are knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and caring. I LOVE this studio. I only get to visit once a year for a few weeks or months at a time, and have never had a bad class here, of all different types. If you are a yoga lover and anywhere near Half Moon Bay, come and try it. New people get 3 classes for $30. You can't beat that. read more

I tried the yoga classes and loved them. Very peaceful and zen-like. I especially favor the evening classes, the Windows face the sun setting which is beautiful while meditating. The instructors are all friendly and very welcoming & patient with newcomers. I highly recommend Enso. read more
