I went to one of their sound healing events at Shelldance Orchid Gardens this last weekend and had a very magical experience. There was a stage with all the sound healing instruments such as sound bowls, drums, etc. and they even came around and played the sound bowls on each person. Once I had my daughter I stopped the regular workouts and it became very difficult to get to my old studio. I really wanted to get back to weekly sessions so I started the search! I looked all over the coast, and even the Peninsula, for an exceptional pilates studio. I finally discovered Lele at Half Moon Bay Pilates. I absolutely LOVE my sessions with her. I participate in weekly, small group private workouts (usually 4-6 people). It is the value of a lifetime... having her expertise guiding your every move. She focuses on each persons strengths and limitations which is invaluable. The studio has exceptional quality equipment as well as a variety of other props that are used. The space very clean and setup for a nice, relaxed feel. We are always switching up the workouts and trying new things. Lele keeps it fun, information and enjoyable. After his first HMB Pilates session he came home, smiling and said it was the most positive hour he's had since the accident. I have gone running past Enso several times and finally drove 30 minutes this morning to take Amy's Sunday morning class. I expected rustic because of the pictures of the wood stove and eclectic Arts & Crafts style of the exterior but I was completely mistaken. The interior is gallery minimalist with a few pieces of beautiful art and an older grand piano that is covered is smoky mirrored mosaic tiles. I cannot do it justice to desribe the light and energy in the space but will say that in my first ardha chandrasana I looked out the window and saw the ocean, the second ardha chandrasana I looked out the window and people were riding by on horses and the third ardha chandrasana I saw runners and people walking their dogs. Ardha Chandrasana, Half Moon pose is forever Half Moon Bay pose in my body because of this special place. This is worth the drive from Silicon Valley to HMB if you appreciate quality yoga and art.

All of the instructors are super supportive and helpful. Keep in mind that each instructor has his/her own style, so if you are not in love with one....try another. I have learned so much from all of the instructors here. Prices are really reasonable. They have mats and other supplies you can borrow too! People are extremely friendly here and I LOVE that it is next to the ocean and you can hear the waves crashing! If you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy your yoga practice, you will not be disappointed by stopping at ENSO!

The studio recently closed for about 10 days to replace the floor mats. While they were closed, I went to another studio in a nearby city to do Inferno Hot Pilates. It had a much larger space. I thought it was kind of neat, but I noticed that almost everyone did not speak to the person near them. During the class no one made any noises. There was no "hooting and hollering." Even when the instructor asked how everyone was doing, no one said anything. The classes were ok at first, but by the 3rd class it became boring. There are a lot of regular yogis at Sangha. We are friendly and we talk to each other and to the new people if they want to talk. If you're new, you're encouraged to go at your own pace. You rest when you need to rest. We also "hoot & holler." There's a lot of energy in the class that makes it fun. We get energy from each other & the good music. The more yogis there are the more fun it becomes. It doesn't matter if you're what type of body shape you have. No one cares. The regular yogis also come in all shapes & sizes. We're all just trying to be healthy & have fun. The studio is clean. The instructors are always cleaning the floor mats & mirrors. There's no weird odors. You will not be lying in someone else's puddle of sweat. The owners/instructors are super friendly. This studio is very welcoming.

I'm really surprised I haven't written a review for this place yet, even though I don't write…read morereviews very frequently-- it's just one of the best yoga studios I've been to in probably 15 years of regular practice in SF and the Peninsula. The owner, Pattie, really lives her yogic teachings and is exceptionally kind and gracious. She also leads fantastic classes that are the perfect mix of physical challenge and spiritual reflection/meditation. What's also really great is that she offers in person classes in addition to virtual-- the doors and windows of the studio are left open so masks are optional. Normally she offers outdoor classes as well but has stopped due to the arrival of more wintry weather (however there are still a few weekly outdoor classes with Olga). Olga and Grace are wonderful instructors as well-- both really get you in a good flow and you'll be buzzing with high vibes afterwards. I've taken far more classes with Grace, who is one of the sweetest, most skilled instructors I've found and really takes the time to make sure everyone has proper alignment. She takes everyone's personal needs and limitations into account yet really motivates you to push yourself farther than you thought you could go. At the moment she is only offering virtual classes. Overall this is just such a warm, welcoming studio with very intimate classes that span all levels of ability. I cherish it for what it has done for my physical and mental health!

I stood outside calling (along with 2 other patrons) for 10 mins. When Olga arrived the only thing she said was "are you registered?" No introduction of herself or the practice, no questions about my experience, goals, limitations, etc. I was not asked for proof of vaccination. The class was disjointed and confusing, and transitions were awkward. No forecasting poses, no breath engagement, no explanation of proper form or alignment. Olga taught to the camera or the mirror the whole time (I was not told we'd be on camera or recorded).. Another student tried to tell Olga that she felt pain in some of the poses and Olga told her to try to remember which poses it was and remind her at the end of class. Afterwords, Olga didn't say one word to any of the students except to remind one woman to register.
