I hear a lot about this place and decided to check it out the number of bad reviews , these are the places love to go and check out for myself First ,it's a club. Not a high end restaurant or venue I found the staff to be extra cool , ya if you sitting in reserved and it ain't for you. They going to move you. You act up it's a club , lot going on not a lot of time to talk it out Drinks were fair pours and I don't think other who mention rotating prices were wrong , but didn't happen to my group. Bartender , cool as hell and funny while making the pours Now as for Freddy , we looked for and talked to him , since so many dig on his management. A really fun nightclub in the South Bay. I think there might be a cover charge here, but I'm not sure how much it is. From my experience only guys have to pay it. They play good music here and it doesn't feel grimy or uncomfortable like some places downtown might make you feel. Came here during the pandemic and they had their back patio open. So I can't comment on their food. They had a dj in the back and a bar. The bartender was nice and quick. The music was poppin' so we no complaints there. There wasn't a lot of people so everyone was observing social distancing. I did see a few people approaching the bar without a mask and the staff reminded them to put it back on. It's a cool spot, we don't have many places that are open so it was not too bad. read more

Ive been nervous on deciding if i should post this review. So I've been coming to enso for years. I celebrated many birthdays here and bring all my friends here whenever they come to visit. Amazing time I always have fun whenever I come out here. But this last time really disappointed me. I only had 2 drinks (didn't even finish that second drink) and I got drugged by a patron. I asked for help from a male bartender and said I felt in danger. He laughed and said that guy was his friend. 2 minutes later I felt even worse. I tell a woman bartender (bc you know girls should help girls) and she just starred at me and continued to work... I ended up getting tested the next day and was positive for roofies. Idk do what you want with this information but maybe listen to your customers if they feel unsafe??? read more

Three stars because I always have a hell of a great time when I go. The entrance, CASH ONLY! To me, it's a little irritating, going through the whole ATM stuff to get cash. Entrance is 20$ and that's before all the checks you go through to get in. You need to follow the dress attire to get in, be well dressed, no hats, girls need to be fancy and, wait in a semi-long line ocassionally. The venu is somewhat small (to me), as soon as you come in there is the bar area that people tend to stay around in, one big room right next to it with a DJ set up, tiny hallway where the restrooms are and another medium size room where another bar area is set up. What I do love is the patio section! When arriving early you get a good table and the vibe has always been super chill for me. read more

Enso is that club on the corner that usually has a long line on Saturday night. As a east coast transplant I never understand why I'll see people hopping in long lines after midnight because these cali bars all close early. I honestly don't get paying $20 in cover for maybe an hour of the club but that's just me. They enforce a "dress code" which does keep the look of the club more "uppity" but it also does turn away some people who are more used to the relaxed dress code. Moral of the story is they want you to dress "fashionable" and they will choose who they let in and what they "allow" so be aware. I'm not a fan of dress codes for a variety of reason but that being said most of the time I'm wearing dress code appropriate stuff when I go out at night. I finally stopped by Enso on a Friday night. I was next door enjoying a bourbon, heard the music decided to stop in and check it out. It was maybe 10:30, there was no line and no cover. I talked with the guy at the front door and he told me that Friday's can be hit or miss but I should take advantage of the free entry and check it out. He did also creep on a couple ladies that were leaving but they didn't seem bothered. Enso is a nice space for a club, compared to Myth and LVL 44 I like the space set up and the feel of the club. There is a back patio complete with tacos (cash only). They have a smaller back room with a DJ, a larger front room with another DJ and then a long bar. I didn't think this club would have that type of space. Each room has a defined space which makes the club feel bigger. The back room ended up playing more reggaeton and the front room was more hip hop. People didn't start coming in until after midnight but the Friday I was there it didn't fill up. The bartenders are cool and pour nice drinks. The drink prices are about 13-15 for a mixed drink. The tables outline the wall of the big dance floor and the bottle service looked okay. The VIP experience here might be okay but it didn't look top notch. Overall though I did enjoy myself. I bought a few drinks with friends and had a good time. It was probably a one off but I'll go back at least one more time in the future to see if the experience is the same and for consistency. read more

The one and only manager there kicked out my sister out while she was being grabbed and verbally harassed by multiple people in the club. The Owner of enso, put his own hands on my sister, throwing her to the ground. He also refuse to answer why his 2nd supervisor wasn't to be seen at the reggaetón section. He also threaten to assault me with his own bouncers while I was deescalating the whole situation. The owner should be able and responded every question that concerns his own clients in his facility. But yet couldn't even respond to simple questions that has to do with his staff. Scared because there's a phone infront of him and reacted with violence instead of ownership. Very disappointing and embarrassing for them and their workers. Now it's understandable why BART wants to buy their property and should. If you want to be harassed or mistreated by a bouncer or higher up at that club, by all means go to enso for the worst experience. read more

Nicest people, ever!!! My daughter lost her phone at their club last night. I stopped by this evening to pick it up. The gentlemen at the door were immediately willing to help. I was worried I had arrived at opening time so they may not be too occupied. But one gentleman immediately started to look. At first he didn't find it but didn't give up and looked around once more and finally found it. I was so touched by their generosity of time and kindness. Do not go here I was racially profiled when I was in line didn't even get to get to the front they came out of their way to come tell me if I let you in ill be fired. So then we got out of line I asked why am I being racially profiled? Of all of the clubs in downtown San Jose, this place is my least favorite. The staff have poor attitudes and just the overall vibe of this place just seems off. An ok place to go but not for bottle service , It was horrible, they have one bottle service girl that was running around trying to cater to the tables but fell short , she did the best she could. Decided to come because we saw they didn't have a cover before 11:00pm. We had a relatively big group (10-14 people) who were all celebrating my birthday. We went in around 10:40 and 4 members of our group were stuck in line because they had a hard time with parking. It was 10:58 and they were still a few people away, we tried explaining to the woman at the front the situation but she waived us off. Bottom line, it was 11:02 and they made our friends pay $20 each. The club was great, loved the music for a Saturday night. Had a hip hop & room for music in Spanish. Visit on 12/22/18 Another amazing ,unforgettable, fun and great night here at Enso, I took another group of friends to come and celebrate El Compadre's bday and like all my husband and I previously visits it was awesome. Definitely I recommend if you come with a group of 4+ get a bottle service you save money,time,and your ladies will thankyou for having a lil time to rest after those heels are killing their feet lol... also the nice waitresses be all night so attentive making sure you're been taking care stocked with ice, juices or more beer and bottles. Do not go to Enso! If I knew my friends from out of town and I would not be treated with dignity, would experience racist behavior from the staff and management, would be dealing with a dishonest and non-transparent business as well as rude and unprofessional staff and management, we would NOT have stepped foot at Enso! After our party of 3 paid a $20 entrance fee each and ordered drinks, we were asked to leave shortly after in the most humiliating of ways as someone had "bought" our table for bottle service. I have partied before and I know bottle service tables will either be blocked off or have a "reserved" sign on them so only people that pay for bottle service sit there. The table we sat at as well as the tables around us weren't reserved or blocked off when we sat down and no one communicated to us that our table would be up for bottle service and the likelihood of us losing the table! When one of their staff members came over and asked us to leave the table, I asked why and I why they hadn't blocked the table off, put a "reserved" sign on the table and why no one set the expectations with us that they would "sell" the table? He said that's how it works. Well then, if that's how it works, there were other tables around us that they could have "sold". So I asked him why he picked our table and if his actions were racially motivated and he turned around called security us. WOW! I was dumbfounded! When the security guy came he wore a face of disdain and said no single word to us. Instead, he condescendingly did the two fingers "dog call" gesture signaling us to follow him towards the door. We got kicked out. By this time I was speechless, too hurt to cry, and felt the humiliation as the patrons that had "paid for the table" watched us get removed. Our drinks that we bought with our hard earned cash still on the table. With no explanation whatsoever! I'm crying right now replaying how we were treated. Were we an easy target for them? One that would easily be told to leave and oblige, one that would not be worthy of any explanation unto why we were being kicked out if we asked, one that would not be listened to if we shared we didn't like how we were treated. If this isn't racism I do not know what is! When we got outside I ran into the guy that had let us in (the guy that was at the door checking IDs) and I shared I didn't like how we were treated and he showed me the guy that I should speak with- (the owner Freddy Jackson), I walked over to Freddy and let him know that I wanted to chat for a sec when he is done chatting with the person he was chatting with. When he got done, he made no effort to talk to us so I walked up to him and asked if he had a sec. When I shared our experience with him, the first question he asked us is if we have ever been to a night club before and if we had ever been to Las Vegas! Wow! ( I wasn't going to respond to that condescending question). When I asked Freddy why they hadn't 'blocked' off the table or put a 'reserved' sign on it he made no effort to make it make sense to us. When I shared with him that with all the racism happening in the America right now they ought to have treated us better, he said "look at me, I'm black and I'm the owner of Enso...I do not have time for this", and walked off. Wow, just wow! So defensive. He reminded me of a Karen that says they can't be racist because they have a black friend! Stay away from this place! I wanted to give it a try and experience it, but it turned out to be the worse birthday night ever! People were right that it wasn't all that. I should of listened...but lesson learned! I feel that they were just making money off from us and not care to give good service. Anyway, I was talking to Marco weeks ago for a bottle service at the patio area (which we weren't in and ended up in a tiny room that was so crowded). I was also told that I'd get a bottle of Champagne with it as a birthday complimentary (but NEVER got it). They want us to buy another bottle for extra charge and what sucks is they kept changing the price higher! Not only that, they kicked us out of our VIP table and gave our spot away for the Earthquakes players! Like wtf? Such money wasted! I love reggaeton. If you love it too, then this is the place to go. Obviously, there's other places that play it here and there, but this one has a second dance floor just for it. I'm not sure why there's a lot of bad reviews. I really enjoyed the vibe here, it's a mixture of people. There's a bar if you want to just sit and drink, there's a hip hop main dance floor, there's the smaller reggaeton dance floor towards the back, and a patio outside where they sell tacos. Like bruhhh, to each their own. I do remember being kinda annoyed when they said cover charge was $20 each. It was 11:45PM, and kinda late to be charging that much. My friend and I did contemplate whether we should just leave, but we were already there. Plus, we walked from downtown towards this club that sits in the outskirts. So we didn't want to walk back. But we didn't dwell on it, we just payed our dues and moved on. I hope the owners listen to these reviews though. I really don't think clubs should be charging $20 towards the end of the night, it kinda just makes people call it a day and go home. It's the little things that affect whether people go back or not. I'm surprised that this place has such low ratings! I came in on a Friday night (technically Saturday morning as it was 1am). Entrance was quick and there was no cover fee. The place is huge and there are two main dance areas: 1) A chill area with seating, very low lighting (great when you're self conscious about your dancing), a dj that plays a lot of throwback music and couples that are dancing with each other (I'll leave it up to your imagination but it was nothing TOO bad). I liked this area because there was a ton of space for me and my friends to dance. 2) A more upbeat area with lots of people, the main bar, more upbeat music (where surprising less people are dancing and more "bobbing"). Nice if you want to meet people. I liked this club for the great dancing environment. It had lots of floor space, good music and seating if I needed to sit down or somewhere to put my stuff! I've come to enso plenty of times cuz I'm a huge fan of reggaeton. I have been there plenty of times and it's been fun the vibe is great but my last 2 visits have kinda sucked because of the big guy In a suit. Now the first time I let it go even though I completely felt singled out. One bouncer would tell me one thing while he would tell me something completely different then kicked us out for no reason. This past weekend I witnessed him be very aggressive. Now I wasn't involved exactly but I saw what went down and he basically knocked out a drunk guy and was proud of it. We heard he was boasting about it and it didn't make us feel safe at all. It's one thing to kick someone out, its another to hit him when he obviously didn't know what he was doing. Plus they sell tacos there YUM!:) I lost my phone this last weekend I was there and the DJ tried his best to help me find it, which I really appreciated because sometimes the employees at clubs don't care. (I found it) I don't remember the name of the girl bartender in the back room but she was super sweet! I've never been on a Friday night though, I'll have to check it out sometime. Came here on St. Paddy's day with a group of friends around 9pm. According to their Facebook post there wasn't supposed to be a cover charge, yet when we got there we were getting charged $10. I don't appreciate misinformation, it's completely fine to charge for admission but don't lie about it. The bouncers were professional about it so that's what the extra star is for. Got here around 10:30pm on a Saturday after previously registering online for free entry before 11pm. Waited about 15 minutes in line before getting in, which wasn't too bad. Once inside, the bar and hip-hop room were pretty empty. The reggaeton room was decently full though. Me and my friend stayed in there because they were playing great music. No dudes were creeping on us, and there was plenty of room to dance. The decor in the club was classier than we expected, especially in the patio area. The bar even had a self-serve water dispenser with cups, which I've never seen at a club before! That way, we didn't have to wait to get a bartender's attention just for water. And the bar was in a separate room from the two dance rooms, which is a great idea in order to decrease congestion on the dancefloor. After 11pm though, when cover is supposed to be $20, we were noticing that security was letting in groups of people through the side door in the reggaeton room. For free. My friend mentioned that they probably did this in order to get more people to buy drinks. But it also caused the place to become over-packed to the point where we couldn't enjoy ourselves anymore on either dancefloor. People were climbing over each other to get anywhere and it was most certainly a fire hazard. Me and my friend ended up leaving earlier than we expected at midnight because even the bar area was getting crowded at that point. I am disappointed that security let people into the club on the side, which was both unprofessional and a safety hazard. Otherwise this was a large and impressive venue with great music. I've never seen a club play solely reggaeton before and we were having a blast! So my best suggestion would be to go early and leave early for no cover as well as the ability to actually DANCE on the dancefloor. read more

I just want to give a review on how Enso over charges your card. I went out last Friday night 2/23/17 around 10-11 pm. Bought 3 henny and coke mix drinks. Totals came out to be $36. I tipped the bartender $5 cash with it. Today is Tuesday, 2/27/18, saw the charge at Enso to be $46?! Excuses me? Are y'all trying to overcharge me for drinks that I did not order? Or did the bartender happen to wrote $10 tip on the slip when I tipped in cash already? Please get back to me whoever is I charge of this establishment. This is highly not unacceptable? A fun nightclub located in the middle of downtown San Jose. This place is where you come when you need to dance and have great drinks. The amount of variety you find in Enso not only in the crowd but in the music is what makes this place so great. One side of the room is hip hop, the other side is bachata, merengue, salsa, amongst other Latinx music. Also no cover fee when I went at around 11:30pm which is amazing considering so many places in the bay charge a cover. read more

ENSO is a brand new club right in the heart of downtown San Jose! The owners are very accommodating and the layout of the club is big and has a vegas feel to it. The bar and bottle service staff are extremely nice and always quick with their service. They even serve tacos in the back patio which are some of the best I've had in San Jose, which is saying a lot. If you haven't been here for their Friday nights you are missing out! They have hosts and play great music that will make you want to get a table and dance all night. Highly recommended! read more

ZERO STARS FROM ME. I club a lot , and this one of the NEVER again clubs. Let's talk about the venue , it's big , 2 1/2 rooms a patio bathrooms were clean for the most part and they were on top of restocking tissue and things of that nature. But 2 of the girls bathroom stalls don't lock. You don't think that's important ?! Don't you think that should've BEEN fixed ? Now about my experience last night 1/4. Saturday , i got there early about 10 it was packed by 11. I was with 2 friends. birthday girls , so they were pretty intoxicated. One of my friends got Bumped in the hallway by a blonde girl so my friend pushed her. Out of no where this fat Mexican dike girl comes and my friends face. Me and my other friend were apologizing for my intoxicated friend . Trying to defuse the situation the dike girl moves around us and pushes my friend really hard. So we jump in the middle and tell her that's not okay. She continues to escalate the issue and mushes my friend in the face and she hit her head against the wall. At this point I'm ready to fight then the dike girl pulls out a knife!!! So i told the girl I'm getting Security. Oh but guess what. THERE WAS NO SECURITY TO BE FOUND!!!!! I had to literally run ALL THE WAY to the front of the club outside and grab one of the ID BOUNCERS. WTF. So he slowly follows me to my friends and by that time the dike was gone. So he proceeded to KICK US OUT !!!!!! At the end of the day , save your time. There's so many amazing clubs. If you really like Enso i would suggest the night club AURA. Same concept more upscale. I'm really big on club safety because I've seen some really bad stuff happen. So this was it for me. I'm contacting the better business bureau because this is completely unacceptable. That the only security is outside. so as I'm standing outside the club with my 2 friends waiting for Uber someone comes out the side door screaming FIGHT and the same ONE security guard goes over and yells STOP then goes back to the front. So you're telling me you had 2 fights in a period of less than 30 mins and you STILL think it's okay to go back outside ? Oh no. Let me start off by saying they don't even deserve one star. The manager @ Freddie J is a big headed, arrogant, unprofessional idiot. I was a regular here despite others opinions on this place (should've listened). So long story short I went to their "Sol Sundays" THREE times and it was closed every time, after the fact that they advertised that it would be open and never once posted that they would be closing. I was fed up because I kept wasting my friends time and my time. So they post another flyer promoting that they will be open for Sol Sundays. I proceed to comment under their IG post "is it really though". Someone on the team messaged me after saying they apologize for the mix up in hours and they want to give me a bottle of champagne for every 5 people that come in and that they hope to see me soon (pretty convenient for them right?) I didn't end up going because my friends were fed up and just didnt want to go. So fast forward to last Saturday, I show up and as I'm about to walk in the owner tells the bouncers not to let me in. I tell him I'm pretty sure he's confusing me. He (Freddie J) proceeds to say I'm not allowed in and that I'm in the books. My initial response was that's fine I can take my money elsewhere, but I need an explanation because I've been a regular and spend lots of money here. This is where it gets PATHETIC & PETTY. He tells me I can't come in because I want to be petty and run my mouth on social media, giving enso a bad name. At this point I'm confused & angry because he's raising his voice and clearly trying to humiliate me in front of everyone. I ask him if he's referring to the instagram comment. He said yeah go run your mouth on all social medias or whatever you do, we tried meeting in the middle with you and even offered you a bottle of champagne, but you never came so you're not welcomed".
