Dr. Ellis is my daughter's osteopathic physician who practices at the New Horizons Wellness Center. Although he is not a pediatrician, I found him to be a patient doctor who my daughter feels very comfortable with. The appointment did not involve a lot of waiting that we have experienced in other places. The receptionist was pleasant. The nurse was also very nice. Dr. Ellis took a proper amount of time talking to us about her medical history and doing the examination. I would recommend him to others looking for a local doctor.

I have left positive reviews for this hospital so, I expected better. He was sent to a room while I was in the restroom and no one called me to let me know. I didn't find out until I asked. He was sent to a room because a patient in worse condition came in. No problem, just tell me. I gave them my number 3 times. I get to the room and 3 nurses are attacking him at once, not bothering to talk to either of us or explain what was going on. I am a nurse so I am my husband's advocate. I told them to just tell him what they are doing or need to do. One nurse just grabbed his pants and started to take them off with no warning. He grabbed them and said what are you doing with my pants. Then she said he had to remove them for a heart cath. He said no problem, how about a heads up before you start grabbing me. I have serous back problems. They said he would be having the surgery the next morning, so he said go home because they promised to call if he went to surgery before I got there the next morning. My husband called me that night to tell me he had the cath and they put a Stent in, no one told me anything!!!! I was livid! I can't tell you what was done because I don't know until I take him for his followup.

Second, I am very disappointed to whiteness a violation of HIPAA between the physical therapists discussing patient privacy in front of other patients and in front of other staff members. I think the entire clinic needs a refresher class on HIPAA before they get sued. I will be taking this complaint to HR.

They never called to check in on the patient and wouldn't even make an emergency appointment to see the child, even with south Central mental health releasing the child under the understanding they would see her the following day. They said the soonest would be 4 days after this incident. It is extremely disappointing that someone in this field would leave a child whom had harmed themselves on medication they prescribed without even a call back. If you value your mental health or the life of a loved one I do not recommend this facility.

She comes home looking like a turtle with all the round suction marks all up and down her back. I don't know what it really does for you health wise but it sure does feel good and is very relaxing. I think I slept through most of it. The woman that did mine had a very relaxing way about her and a very soft and soothing voice. This was a great way to spend an afternoon together and it was worth every penny. Wellness is a way of life for these people and it really shows. I highly recommend the Wellness Institute. I really should do this kind of self care more often. We all should.
