The car had the worst windshield wipers on it, got caught in tropical storm Debbie. Had to buy new wipers . Then I asked for a different rental, I had to go 120 miles out of my way to exchange the car.. this took my whole trip put of its agenda .. and set me back a day .. I had to pay for a hotel room i never made it to. Don't get me wrong the cars were nice . But the experience was a nightmare.. and they don't want to give me any like of rebate I didn't even get my whole deposit back... budget is 5he worst

On Saturday, at 1145 am, my rental car did not start, and the dashboard was blank. I contacted the Budget roadside assistance team (stayed online for almost an hour) and was promised that SRS towing would be there around 3-4 pm - when I contacted the company, they had never received any final paperwork from BUDGET. I called Roadside assistance again, and was referred to Sattie LLC Towing - they never answered my call and all ran to a non-set up voice box and did not come. I called Budget again and was referred to Atrans - they were supposed to be there at 8 pm, but I called and they stated that it would be much later (arrived at 1030 pm - at least the driver was super nice). I called the Roadside supervisor - they offered a ride to Philly to exchange my car, but as they close at midnight, I did not want to get stranded in Philly. So I waited for 10.5 hrs to get the broken car towed, paid for a Lyft to get back to the airport on Sunday out of pocket. When I called Customer service, they told me that they would consider a partial refund (which I have not received) and told me that they understand my frustration - however, this is not an emotional problem on my part but a complete service failure on BUDGET's part. My advise, if you can avoid to rent from BUDGET - do not rent from them! AVOID-AVOID-AVOID

NO Stars....I can not recommend Budget/Avis to anyone. My experience was awful. I went to the…read moreEmmaus PA location to pick up my rental car, which I ordered online, in the office they seemed to be disorganized. No one took the time to walk me around for a pre-rental check. Probably because it was raining. I took the vehicle home and first thing I noticed was a bad stale cigarette smell. I then noticed a big rip in the back seat, stained carpet, stains on various seats and headliner, food crumbs and long hair in the interior, scrapes/scratches on the body. My husband and I spent at least an hour that night cleaning, vacuuming and spraying Lysol throughout the interior. The next day was a windy day so I opened all windows and aired the car out for over 12 hours. It smelled better but there was still a trace of stale cigarettes. Every time I tried to call the Emmaus branch either during or after my rental (with the exception of one time) no one answers. I get an automatic transfer to a corporate call center. I spent up to 56 minutes on hold and routed through various automatic prompts. After I got a live person and explained all this I was given a 1 day future free rental. I called today about an additional $181 being charged to me as I have no idea what it was for. After being on hold 32 minutes I got a live person telling me it was a charge for an additional day of rental. He said I prepaid for 10 days but I had it 11. This is ridiculous since my rental confirmation email reflecting the charges shows a 12 day rental and specifically states "12 Days". I told him I wanted to speak to a Supervisor. After being on hold another 8 minutes I was disconnected!!!! The customer service is horrible, the rental car was horrible. Absolutely NO stars!!!!

***RUN...DO NOT WALK...AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY (or else you might literally be walking)***…read more *Unfulfilled Reservation at Lehigh Street Location, 14 hours Without a Resolution or Transportation, Unprofessional Conduct Dear Enterprise Customer Service, I am writing to escalate, once again, a growing failure of service regarding our confirmed reservation (#2087408718 on June 12, 2025) at your Lehigh Street, Allentown, PA location on June 20, 2025, which as of this writing remains unfulfilled after 7 hours of attempted resolution. We are still stranded without a vehicle, with no communication from your team, and no one empowered to assist us despite the reservation continuing to display as active in your system. This is now beyond an inconvenience -- it's a complete breakdown in responsibility, response, and respect for your customer. As previously detailed to your customer service team: * We were contacted the day of our reservation by a branch employee, David, who informed us the reservation could not be honored due to overbooking. * He stated "I have no solution for you," and "corporate will not do anything to help." He was condescending, interruptive, confrontational and repeatedly grossly unprofessional. * When we requested contact with a supervisor, David responded: "You can email [the regional manager]. I'm done," and hung up on us. * We had to seek out further help via the corporate customer service hotline. Gina reported the issue would be escalated, and that a regional manager would contact us within an hour. That never happened. * Corporate customer service (Karen) later informed us that regional managers are given 48 hours to respond, which is wholly incompatible with our need for real-time resolution. As of now -- 14hours later -- we remain without transportation, without support, and without a clear path forward. We've been told we cannot speak directly with the regional manager, and that we simply must wait. Meanwhile, our trip has been delayed, our plans derailed, and our time completely disrespected. We demand; 1. Immediate, real-time intervention by a manager or senior leader to resolve this and restore service. 2. Full accountability for David's dismissive, unprofessional behavior and failure to uphold basic standards of customer service. Rather than be solution-oriented and professional, David added insult to injury. 3. Appropriate compensation for the 7 hours (and counting) we have spent attempting to resolve this issue, as well as the larger disruption to our schedule and plans. 4. A formal response detailing how your escalation procedures will be improved to ensure future customers are not abandoned in the same way. This experience has now spanned nearly a full working day. We've exercised patience, made repeated attempts to work through proper channels, and been met with silence and blame-shifting. At this point, we expect far more than an apology -- we expect meaningful action. We strongly urge your team to treat this matter with the seriousness it warrants. *In response to Enterprise statement below: We have tried to contact Enterprise as stated above and we are told to wait for a call back. It has been FOURTEEN HOURS and NO ONE HAS BOTHERED TO CALL US WITH AN UPDATE and we are STILL WITHOUT A RENTAL VEHICLE which was CONFIRMED weeks ago. It was not an open ended reservation.
