Sprung me with surprise fees. They charged me a security deposit fee for the car and i was told that i would get a full refund once the car was returned in good condition. When i returned the car they gave me less than half of my deposit back and told me it was a refueling fee for the gas?! If the gas needed to be full upon return then they should have communicated that! Very upset with this and their withholding of important information. read more

The Enterprise Rent-a-car location at 1575 Nicholson street in Baton Rouge is a joke. When I was involved in a MVA in late September, 2022, I rented a vehicle at this branch. The Nissan Altima was filthy, almost empty of gas and no windshield wiper fluid ! After approximately 2 weeks they called to tell me that they forgot to tell me that they were supposed to charged me a $ 3 daily tax ??? Then when I returned the vehicle , they charged my CC $ 285.75 for an optional CW/DCW supplemental insurance that I never authorized or accepted and clearly declined during my initial rental. I have tried to call this branch 4 times and the first 3 times, they said that this was a mistake now they are telling me that the manager had to do some research?? and I was expected to meet them halfway?? Renting cars has never been an issue in BR, that was until I came to this Enterprise. It might just seem like a tiny car rental spot from the road, but the numerous issues I experienced were likely no coincidence. Had it not been for the stand up sign, I would've likely missed the spot. It isn't a mega sized Enterprise or like the airport counters, but a small standalone location with a limited inventory of cars in the lot. Having reserved a car online, I figured I would just come in and claim the car. Instead, I waited behind a small line that was handled so slowly, that I it took roughly 20 minutes to accommodate the 3 people in front of me. Eventually I made my way to the counter and one of the associates, Kyle, was there to help me. His initial no nonsense approach was extremely appreciated. He was quick to ask me for all the usual protocols: name, ID, and reservation #. Unlike other Enterprise locations I've rented cars at where everything was handled digitally, he printed out (on a dot matrix printer no less - wow!) a sheet where I was to initial my consent for additional features for renting the vehicle. This is where my experience went from mediocre to downright terrible. As I started declining the additional features, things that are standard to ask (such as additional coverage, pre-filled tank, GPS, etc.) Kyle started giving me a hard time and began to bring out the sales speak. There were people behind me in line, I really just wanted to get in and out as quick as I could. He mentioned how their gas rates were lower than that out in the rest of the city, but when I declined he asked me why I would turn down such a good deal. Then he nudged about declining the insurance, which is my right as a driver, but he noted otherwise. He used a vague line about how it's illegal to drive in the State of Louisiana without at liability coverage. I noted that I was already covered through my AMEX but he noted that credit card companies can only cover so much and continued to push the illegality of driving without insurance. I told him I'm still allowed to decline coverage and that if it were truly legal, it would be mandated into the terms of the contract and added automatically to my reservation. Plus, it's not my first rodeo; I've rented cars all over the state of Louisiana before. But he noted, that there was a law that was passed and that it's "better to be safe than sorry", especially in the eyes of the law. It was enough to make me reconsider, though I felt like I got the upsell, which I surely did. My rate practically doubled and I was none too pleased. He didn't tell me when the law was passed or even if it was recently imposed to all drivers in the state, but was careful in choosing vague statements to make me take the bait. I did and he smirked the whole way. The final insult was him assigning a car that was clearly not what I was looking for. I wasn't going to complain initially - I've been given an economy for a compact before, but this one was tiny and only had a *quarter tank of gas left.* I was surprised, but with a wink and a smile he said, "You can bring back with a quarter tank, or you can fill it up. Up to you. Drive safe." And just like that, he walked away without as much as a thank you or goodbye. Vehicle quality, price, ease of rental, above all customer service is imperative at any rental car company. This Enterprise had none of the above. Enterprise saved the day! We had a car reserved at the car rental place next door to Enterprise, or so we thought. Imagine our surprise to get a call as we were pulling into their parking lot to pick up a car to be told, sorry, we don't actually have any cars available. In fact, we have a waiting list. So we popped next door to Enterprise. Kendal had us in a quad cab pickup and on the road for our fun family weekend in less than fifteen minutes. And my husband was happy to get a truck to drive. Y'all need a car, go see Kendal at Enterprise. He'll get you fixed up. And next time, I'm calling Enterprise first. read more

Brooke was very helpful and made my rental process seem easy. I'd heard horror stories of long lines, rental no longer being available or rude staff. Rental process may have taken all of fifteen minutes. Staff was friendly & helpful over the phone when rental required extension. Will visit this location again for my rental needs. read more

It's hard to top good service for a company that is known for its excellent customer service, but these people always manage to exceed my expectations. They did so as recently as this Saturday 12/22/18 when needed a truck at the last minute, and they had one for me within an hour. read more

Staff misleads with regards to the rates they will charge. The car I was given reeked of cigarettes and wasn't cleaned at all. I was told it would be sprayed with fabreeze, which only ended up making matters worse. Staff are generally not helpful. Avoid this location if at all possible. I recently rented from the Nicholson location. Everyone was friendly. Greeted with me a smile. I got a rate that was lower than the quote on my online reservation. It had a half-tank, and I was told to bring it back with a half, which I did. The only complaint I have is that my wife said there was a noise or rattle in the car. I never heard it, but she was sitting in the back. We concluded that maybe the tail pipe was lose and tapping the frame. It did not bother me, but it bothered her, therefore I had to hear about it from her. So, I'm not sure who to blame. read more

I have used this location twice recently, and both times I received EXEMPLARY service. Both visits required that I be picked up, and they arrived in a very timely manner ensuring I was in my rental by my appointment time. On one of the visits, the category I reserved was unavailable and the manager approved an upgrade with any hesitation. On my December 24th visit, the representative was patient and assisted me with verifying that my insurance covered the rental. On my January 15th visit, an representative even called once I was in the rental, to ensure I was satisfied with their service. Upon bringing the rentals back, the car was checked and I was on way home within 5 -10 minutes (depending on my drop-off time).
