I did have to switch vehicles because the first rental had a check engine light come on after 2 weeks of renting. They swapped vehicles for me, no problem. When I walked in I was quickly greeted. Quickly processes and quickly put into a vehicle. Tommy and Maddie were so helpful and kind. Maddie made my vehicle check fast and efficient. It took about 10 minutes. But we chatted the whole time, so the time went by faster. She also had to show me how to work the car cause it's a 2024, and completely different from what I currently drive. So fancy! After my insurance kicked up and approved my rental, Tommy called to have me come in. He helped me transfer my rental to the insurance, Back to the beginning of my rental contract. He made the process fast and pain free for me.

This happened to two other individuals we were traveling with. Budget and Avis apparently work together. We were told to come back the next day at the place that was 15 miles away and they would have a car, we did that but again no car available. Avoid at ALL expense. The person behind the counter said he didn't work for budget but was wearing a Budget shirt.

Do not rent a car from the location on Nicholson Dr. Their customer service is horrible and they do…read morenot know how to speak to customers without cutting them off. The poor customer service started with Mike the manager, when I walked in to pick the the car up I reserved he told me that there was a waitlist and they had no more cars. I asked why was I allowed to make a reservation that morning if there weren't any cars. He explained they don't control the reservations because that's done outside of them. A few minutes later he said "wait I think I have a car that just came in, but it's not going to be vacuumed or washed because I won't be able to do that right now". I thought that was strange, but still took the vehicle because me and my husband were leaving out of town. While out of town someone attempted to steal the car and broke the back window. We filed a police report and tried to go to the nearest Budget to exchange the car. The people there called the Nicholson location and the lady there told them we could not exchange the car and would need to return it back to Baton Rouge. We then drove 5 hours back to Baton Rouge and filed a claim through out insurance. When I called to give them the claim number and tell them the insurance company was going to come by to fix the window the lady at the Nicholson location (who refused to give me her name), cut me off and said "no they will not be here because we don't have room to keep this vehicle they'll have to wait to see where the car get's taken and you'll have to figure it out from there we aren't calling the insurance". I tried to explain to her that the insurance company said they could call to arrange how they could fix it and she very rudely kept cutting me off saying "It's not on us to call them you'll just have to call back later to figure it out". I then asked if I could talk to the manager because she was being rude and allowing me to speak and she just hung the phone up. I then called back and Mike the so called manager answered and would not allow me to file a complaint. So here I am letting people know not to do business with this independent company on Nicholson Dr.

$2500 for a re-manufactured part + $1800 for the labor. Add in rental fees while my vehicle is…read morebeing repaired only to learn that the re-manufactured part was not completely remanufactured. No apologies, ZERO empathy. The suggested recourse? Bring the vehicle in so that a third party can "remedy" the situation and continue to cover your own rental fees while the third party does what should've been done prior to the sale. We should've recognized the red flag: after paying for the part, we were told the third party "went out of town" and the part would be available in a few days. Jokes on us, right? Wrong. My recourse will be much different than their suggested recourse. Filing fees in West Baton Rouge parish are a fraction of the money that I am out and the problem is not yet resolved. Honesty and principle are everything therefore, I shall let the Civil system be my path of recourse. We have dealt with Black's on several occasions and they always came highly recommended however this experience is enough to end that happy trail. Buyer BEWARE!
