I haven't had to return a car due to mechanical issues, but I've had to swap for a bigger size and it was quick and easy. I really like this location, and will continue to rent from here. The lady in charge charged me for 5 days. The reason is that I'm 20 minutes late. Bad place to do business. When I asked about the rules "Car hire companies usually have a grace period, which varies from 29 minutes to 2 1/2 hours" she told me they weren't Hertz, they had their own way of doing business. I made a reservation at the Enterprise on Empire Blvd in Brooklyn. I went to pick up the car but when I got there - there were people already waiting everyone had reservations but there were no cars. The staff was trying to find cars from other places and telling people with reservations they would need to wait a couple of hours to see if anyone returned a car. People left with no cars to try to find another car rental. The lady in charge was condescending and clearly didn't see anything wrong with giving reservations for cars they don't have. I was very impressed with the service l received. Recently a mentally ill person walked up to several cars and proceeded to bang on cars as he held up traffic. My car was one of the vehicles damaged. I called my insurance company and filed my claim. In less than 1 hr Enterprise called to confirm my rental. Yesterday l received an email reminder. When l finished dropping my car off at the collision shop, l had a 5 minute wait for my pickup to drive me to Enterprise. My Enterprise wait was 5 minutes and l was quite impressed and very happy. Everyone l spoke and dealt with from the beginning to my pickup were very professional, knowledgeable and very polite. I was at enterprise waiting for a vehicle and I saw an interaction with a customer and a manager. The customer apparently was waiting for a vehicle for an hour. Manager was got upset with the customer because the customer told her that she's unprofessional talking to customers on speaker for the entire place to hear her. After the customer waited an hour she because she told the manager her it unprofessional to speak to customers on speaker, the manager got upset with the customer saying "you can't tell me how to do my job" the manager looked as though she was trying to make the customer act out but the customer kept her composer. The manager didn't even try to assist the customer she was upset just because the customer told her being on the phone on speaker is unprofessional. The manager was upset because the customer called out for her unprofessionalism, and the manager decided to stroke her ego and not give the customer a car. @enterprise you need to look into this. If I was a customer at the other end I wouldn't want to be on speaker in the first place. Secondly, just because someone point out your fault does not warrant you to be petty and not give her a vehicle. That's wrong. I sat there and watched the entire thing and the customer was not disrespectful or anything. The customer was upset because she'd been waiting an hour for a reservation that was already made. That manager needs to go! Just because you can you decided to not give that lady a car because she told you sooner the door while on speaker with customers, you shouldn't do that. Not giving her a car because you're mad is wrong. On top of that I believe it was someone's birthday or something she was needing the car to go in her trip and she didn't get it because of the manager. Terrible. Last week was my first time ever using a car rental company in New York.......So, after an extremely negative and disappointing experience at JFK hertz, a friend called another friend who suggested Enterprise Car Rental on Foster Avenue. Well, when I walked into Enterprise on Foster Ave. there was no line and no waiting.... Gregory Chervin was the agent responsible for helping me....I noticed something right away that was different than the other car rental company.... This agent was on his A game! And, he as well as everyone else looked like they were working for a fortunate 500 company... They were extremely professional, they greeted me as soon as I walked through the door. I could tell that they loved the company they represented, and, they treated me (and every other customers) as though we were the most important people there! Well, Mr. Chervin smiled and was on top of his A game! He was impeccably dressed, and was extremely personable! Wow! He was also very patient as I searched for my documentation. I kept thinking -- Enterprise has a winning team here! He verified all of my information, and asked if I had question. Mr Chervin walked me to my rental, we checked for damages, and I was on my way. I left feeling as though, they definitely got it right! So, after my weekly rental was done, I returned the car and decided to switch to a cheaper vehicle. I noticed the same exact thing that I noticed on my first visit... All of the agents and mangers were impeccably dressed. They treated every customer as though each was important. They greeted each and every single customer as though they mattered. It was extremely busy, but not one customer seemed to mind as we waited. As my name was called I got up, and Sabrina Felix introduced herself as the agent helping me. She was very professional, also impeccably dressed, and had a very pleasant demeanor. She greeted every single customer that came into the facility. I kept thinking to myself that this location is definitely first rate.... I eventually kept the car I was switching out, and had an extremely positive experience..... Sabrina Felix made sure I had the best experience ever. I only found out later that Ms. Felix was the Branch Manager. I worked In HR for over 14 years, and i can honestly say that this location is the dream team of excellent customer service. I do plan to write letters to the CEO and General Manager of the company. I also hope that these outstanding individuals are rewarded for their superior customer service!!! This was my first car rental with Enterprise and renting in NYC. They allowed me to use my company discount after being told by the corporate office that it couldn't be used, saving me a bunch of money. The representative who processed my transaction at the rental place knew that I was not an experienced driver and answered ALL of my questions without rushing me or being dismissive. I got a bit of an upgrade and the car was new, clean and in great shape. Overall I had the impression that the workers are professional and try their best to attend to the customers. The only issue I had is that they aren't open on Sundays. I expect to rent from this location again and hope I have other great experiences. read more

I have been renting cars in New York City for close to 20 years and this place is hands-down the best (I'm talking about the Foster Ave location in BK, in case I'm posting this in the wrong place). I have rented from this location at least three times and each time the customer service is perfect. The car has always been ready and I'm in and out of the location very quickly. This time the woman behind the counter, Mandy, was so efficient she checked out three of us (different customers) simultaneously and was friendly and relaxed the whole time. When I returned my vehicle, Asher met me at the car helped me resolve some questions I had and I never even had to step into the location to get everything settled. Everyone I've encountered here is really knowledgeable about the procedures and policies, and they are equally courteous to both customers and their colleagues so the overall vibe of the place is really pleasant (which has *not* been my experience at other rental car places). Also!! One time a few years ago I got in an accident in the rental car and when I checked the car in the gentleman helping me could see I was upset and literally walked around the counter and gave me a hug!! This location is consistently disappointing in their customer wait times. Sadly, This is my nearest Enterprise branch location and without fail, renting a car takes 1+hrs, returning a car takes 1+hrs. How is this allowable? I rented several years with Enterprise in Philadelphia, and I have done several airport rentals between National & Enterprise. The times it takes to rent or return is less than 10-15 mins, especially being that I am a returning customer. At this local branch in Brooklyn, as customers complain about wait times, all we hear from staff is "well we are the busiest center in Brooklyn". Kudos for being the busiest site, how about a solution to the problem? No one addresses what is being done to decrease wait time. Equally frustrating is the advertised "we pick you up". A pick up is 2-3 hr wait! I understand trying to batch clients up so rides can be stream lined but this point is defeated when clients are waiting 45-60mins to return a car. I do my best to arrive at this center really early so i can avoid the usual headache but there seems to be no perfect time to come by. My patience is running out, so I am looking at other rental companies in the area who do a better job getting me into a car& on the road rather than hijacking my time. I left my credit card info for a deposit and I was told I wouldn't be charged until I returned the vehicle. After returning vehicle, I was given a call to authorize payment. Dear Enterprise on Foster Ave, I just want to let you know that you are the most deceptive car rental company I've ever rented from in my life. Charging me and my friend $909 for a rental that we reserved with the understanding would be $366.79 is obscene. Your "per mile charges after 150 miles" is an incredibly misleading policy, as it was nowhere in the language on Expedia's website or confirmation at the time of reservation, and I carefully read all of the fine print. You did not make us aware of this charge, and it is terrible business. I have rented from Budget, Avis, Dollar, and am a Gold Member at Hertz (whom I should have went with in the first place), and they have NEVER treated me as a customer so unfairly. And on top of the deceptive hidden charges, you didn't have the vehicle we originally reserved & gave us an uncomfortable van with only a quarter tank of gas, and a USB port that didn't work. We will be contacting your corporate office formally and filing a report about this with the Federal Trade Commission. Last week I rented a car for two days, from the Foster Avenue Brooklyn location. The experience from the time I walked in was Friendly and Courteous even though it was a hectic morning (day after the snow storm). The young lady Sabrina was efficient and got me into my rental without any delay. Returning the car was just as easy the young man was waiting at the gate with a Tablet and was able to check me out in less than 5 minutes. Don't do it! The slightly lower prices aren't worth the hour and half registration process, the crappy car, the even longer wait to drop off. The entire waiting room was unhappy. (Who makes you wait in line to drop off?) The guy behind the counter was like a big puppy- sweet but oh so stupid. When I told him I didn't want insurance, he insisted on talking to my husband (who was waiting outside) about what insurance is and why its important. The car itself was subpar, dirty etc. When I asked him if there would be a wait on return he said no. (2 hour wait on return) But if you complain they give a handwritten 10% off your next rental! You have an amazing staff at the Foster Avenue branch. From beginning to end. When I was picked up by Javaun, he was on time greeted me with a smile and friendly conversation the entire way to the branch. At the branch I was greeted individually by the entire staff which they didn't have to do, this started my day off on the right foot. When I got my vehicle Andre took the time out and cleaned off the windshields without my request. A hour into my day I got a call from enterprise asking me about the shape of the vehicle and if I had a chance to drive it and were there any issue. Upon returning my vehicle it was majority of the same faces from the morning with a few different members, but they all had the same smiles and greetings for me. The woman at the front (I didn't get her name) she was kind and asked me about my experience. Remsen dropped us off a few blocks from the location and held conversation the entire time. The absolute worst ! You sit there forever before someone asks you if you need help. There policy doesn't accept prepaid cards which I believe is unreasonable. Who doesn't accept cashapp cards! Finding this place was the hardest part. I made a reservation online, weeks before Memorial day Weekend. I also changed it online just a few days before. Piece of Cake. When I got there, they were very friendly, helpful, did not push for me to buy all the optional insurances and road side assistance. Enterprise does pick you up and drop you off if you need that. I just bring a folding bike. When I returned they were walking around asking everyone where they needed to be dropped off. I did not take advantage of that service so I cannot comment further on it. The car was clean and well maintained. There was no windshield washer fluid, so check that before you take the car it might be important. They inspect the car with you before you take it and when you return it. They inspect it very well, so do a good walk thru and even take photos of the bumpers. During my inspection we found a pretty big crack in the rear bumper, but the guy was familiar with the car and told me that it was already there. I picked up at 7:30 am and returned at the same time. They are closed on Sundays and holidays so plan accordingly. You cannot bring the car back except when they are open. read more

This location has the best customer service I've ever experienced! Jeremy helped me with my reservation and was very through with the instructions and guidelines.
