Reservations are meaningless at this place. There is absolutely no point in trying to do business with these people. Even if you confirm reservation day before and they swear they'll have a car for you when you show up in the morning, they won't necessarily have a car. They screwed me in 2015 and I swore I'd never do business with them again. But I gave them another chance. Guess what? They screwed me again. They are completely shameless and show zero remorse when they fail to live up to their obligations. Their attitude seems to be: If we take a whole bunch of reservations we'll probably make at least a couple sales for the day. read more

Worst experience ever. I was told to pick up a rental replacement and never received it. Brianna told us she'd stay after closing to assure I get a car never received a call or anything. Horrible management, no communication & most cars were returned back with problems. Try Avis or another place don't waste your time. read more

I had the worst experience and if I could give zero stars, I would. I booked a car while my car was in the shop; the insurance company confirmed it as well. When I went to pick it up, they said there was no vehicle; the insurance company had not confirmed--I called the insurance company who said they were looking at the confirmation. Finally, I handed my phone to the rep who had a discussion with the adjuster, and they produced a vehicle. When I got back to the office, I received a rental agreement and instead of 4 days, it's for 1 day. I called customer service who told me that is what happens when the insurance company confirms and that I had the car for 4 days. The office is utter chaos; they apparently have no idea what reservations they have; and what vehicles are available. I only hope they don't report the car stolen if the customer service rep was incorrect. read more

Renter Beware! Confirmed does not mean what you think it does in Enterprise World. My car was in the shop for a week so I arranged to rent a car from Enterprise in Champaign. One half hour before I was scheduled to pick the car up, I received a call that there were no cars available at that location. They then proceeded to string me along stating that they were trying to get vehicles from other locations, that cars would be returned later in the day, promising to call me back (they never did) before finally acknowledging the next day that no car would be forthcoming. Apparently overbooking is their standard practice, and the lack of concern or even an apology suggested to me that this is a common occurrence at this location. Renting from these folks is like flying standby; it might work out, but don't count on it. read more

We got this rental because our van had to have repairs. My husband reserved a vehicle with Enterprise, and they said they would meet us at the Calliber parking lot at 8:15 on our reserved date. No one was there at 8:15, so Calliber called and were told that someone was "on their way." 30 minutes go by, and no one has come. Calliber called Enterprise again, and were told again that someone was "on their way." 20 minutes pass, so Calliber has someone drive me over to Enterprise (about a 3 minute drive). When I got there I explained the situation. They tried to get me into a van right away; took me over to it, installed a child car seat that I brought, and told me it needed an oil change. So we had to drag my belongings back in. We go to another van that "just needed to be vacuumed." After 10 minutes of vacuuming, we go out, install my child's car seat, and the same thing happened...it needed an oil change. We drag everything back in until another van pulls up. Of course it needed to be vacuumed before it could be rented, so I wait another 10-15 minutes. Confirming that this one didn't need an oil change, I finally got the rental van. Overall this was an extremely frustrating experience. Firstly, why tell your customers someone is "on their way" when clearly they're not? Why lie to your customers like that...especially twice? Actually, three times since we were told someone would meet us in the Calliber parking lot at 8:15. This was what was most upsetting about the situation. Secondly, everyone seemed extremely disorganized. How is there not a way to check which vehicles can't be rented out because they require maintenance? I spent over two hours waiting for a vehicle that was reserved weeks before the needed date. A lot of things need to be improved, starting with not telling customers promises that cannot be kept. One positive note; George was extremely nice and apologetic. He understood how frustrating the situation was and allowed me to bring the car back on empty, essentially giving me a free tank of gas. I'm very appreciative of him trying to make things right. read more

I did eventually hear back from supervisors and they did eventually reimburse so that I was ultimately charged only the original estimate (ie, they removed the one-way charge). The individuals who eventually contacted me were professional and kind. I wish it hadn't taken so much effort, but I do appreciate that they were helpful in the end. I think this local branch office in general seemed more on the ball than the airport location which I continue to be wary of. read more

I honestly don't know how this branch is in business. After talking with the locals about my experience, they all just nodded and said "oh yeah, they're the worst, don't ever use them" and "they're famous for booking every car three times, it's like the lotto if you get a car there". Now I know, and you do too. If you think the Seinfeld scene with the car rental agency is fiction, come meet these idiots. I booked a car here, got the confirmation and planned an entire family road trip (with multiple hotels and flights now in place). Comes the day of the rental and I call them just to ask if I'd be able to come an hour earlier than my reservation and the guy confirms my reservation but casually says (as if I was naive to even think otherwise) "we don't have a car for you today". After a lot of back and forth he lamely tries to calm me with "well someone probably tried to call you and leave a message." I got no call, and no message, he couldn't care less. This is on THE DAY OF A CONFIRMED RESERVATION!?! All I can say is these people are literal morons who cannot perform their ONE JOB, and if you ever try to rent a car from them just make sure all of your plans are flexible and that you have a full bottle of aspirin, because they won't have a car for you and they won't even worry about how much it inconveniences you. (And I'm curious to see if they chime in in with their "I'm sorry we didn't meet your expectations on this rare occasion..." nonsense reply to this review, because it seems like customer dissatisfaction and incompetence are their standard operating procedure.) read more

I used Enterprise while my car was in the shop. The rental car was great, except... They didn't know I was coming on the first day I selected for rental, despite having filled out the online rental paperwork that they sent me via email. They called to ask what day I needed to be picked up from the auto shop and were stunned that I had already booked something for an hour later. They informed me that they wouldn't have a car available for at least a week - that's fine, but then don't let me book a car in the online system, and give me more than a few hours notice of the issue. The next date I booked, they had me sit at the Enterprise location for an hour and 15 minutes waiting for check-in and to get the car; keep in mind that they knew more than a week in advance that I was coming and would need a vehicle that day. The bathroom was very dirty and the lock was not functional. But the car was very clean! Amin's customer service stood out as he was very helpful getting me oriented to the car. On the positive side of things, when my car was done I could leave it at the shop and didn't have to deal with Enterprise again. read more

I was involved in a car accident and the insurance company directed us to enterprise, who didn't have any vehicles available for almost a week. After that week on the day of my pickup, I called both the individual branch and a customer service representative to confirm my vehicle pick up, both the customer service representative and the branch employee confirmed I would be able t pick my rental up at 3:30. I then received a call at 2:45 saying they did not have any vehicles. I had to miss work to schedule my pick up, and now i am without transportation still. Very poor organization and business ethics, I do not recommend if your renting from here. By the looks of it all of these reviews are the same. read more

I called ahead and my car was lent to a worker and would be back in ten minutes. Why would you lend it to a worker for 10 minutes when I called ahead. Also the windshield was filthy. Just would like to let you know we are highly disappointed with the service at the Enterprise on Prospect in Champaign, Illinois. My husband has had a reservation for a 12 passenger van for months. He even went into the office yesterday to double check with them that they would have it and have it ready for us to pick up today. They told him yes, they would have it. He went to pick up today and they don't have it. They don't even care that they don't have it! I'm so upset and furious. We have had a vacation planned with another family since February and now we might not be able to go because your employees don't care or want to do their job!! What is even the point of reserving a vehicle if your employees are not going to do their job!!! My husband had done alot of business with enterprise, he's a supervisor with a well know railroad company. I am giving this place five stars because the staff is great at this location. Joe the branch manager has management skills written all over him. I can see this guy being the Area or or the regional manager of Enterprise locations throughout the midwest very soon. Surprised they have not promoted him yet. The car they provided me was awesome and provided me great gas mileage. The only negative thing I can say is the prices in Champaign, Illinois for rental cars are more expensive than larger cities, but enterprise is the cheapest in town. read more

We wanted to rent a van for 9 people for 1 day. We originally called the south neil location, but they told us in no uncertain terms that they did not rent big vans, did not have big vans, could not get big vans. Therefore, we instead chose to rent from the north prospect location, who assured us that they rented big vans. When we arrived at the north prospect location at 730 on the day of our trip, there weren't any vans anywhere. The enterprise representative handling our rental informed us that they didn't have a van big enough for 9 people, but that they could get us one from the south neil location (!!!)! This half hour delay in our departure probably would have been okay, because all of us travelling were extra-neurotic enough to have budgeted in extra time for filling out paperwork and other potential unforseeable disasters, except that when the van finally arrived from the south neil location (!!!) it didn't have any gas, so we had to go gas it up. They get 2 stars instead of one because the van itself was clean and in good working order when we finally got it, and one of the enterprise ladies (not the one handling our reservation) was very nice to me and my friends. read more

They shut their google reviews down because of my experience. I came to pick up the rental on a Friday at 430. Im met immediately by a enterprise rep named Dalton, who leads Me outside to pick a vehicle, but he is sure he already knows the one I'll want. He points out a 21 rav4, which is really neat looking. He says he just got done driving it. My insurance is covering it, so what the heck, I go for it. He tells me he has already do e the walk around to note any defects in the vehicle, but he will take me around to show me what he found. He did not instruct me to look for more defects and quite honestly I was dumb enough to fall for the tactic due to being late to work and overly trusting. He goes on to sell me insurance without telling me the charge is per day not one time. I found that out 4 days later and had to bring the vehicle in in order to stop the $20/day payment. there was a rock chip in the windshield, very small, but still obvious on a new vehicle. I thought for sure he had seen it. While I have the vehicle the weather freezes and the chip turns into a large crack. I call to let them know and they tell me they have no record of a chip in the windshield. I tell them of my worry with the integrity of their rep and how he told me he was in the vehicle before me and almost lured me into this vehicle and rushed me through the walk around. The supervisor did not take me seriously or even pretend to. He immediately defended his rep without pause for investigation. I don't know that I have a leg to stand on here. They got me. Please be very careful with Enterprise in Quincy, IL and Dalton, their rental rep. read more

I just got an email from Enterprise directing me to leave a review here, so here goes: pretty much every service in CU sucks. Renting a car is no different. However, despite this cynicism and my 3 star rating, this specific location is the ONLY non-airport car rental agency of any kind I have been mostly able to tolerate doing business with in the area. The Enterprise on Neil BLOWS. This location has always provided good service, waits and inconveniences usually made better by on the spot vehicle upgrades and other small perks and allowances. Enterprise is the cheapest, by far, of all the agencies out there, and their cars are typically in very good condition. (Just completely forget about Hertz if you are allergic to smoke.) Enterprise as a company also offers pick up and drop off service, which is SUPER. Ok, so here are my reasons for the 3 point score: EMPLOYEES ARE CONSTANTLY PARKING RENTAL CARS IN THE HANDICAPPED SPOT. THEY WILL NOT STOP. THEY ALLOW PERFECTLY MOBILE CUSTOMERS TO PARK THERE AS WELL. THEY ARE ABOUT TO LOSE MY BUSINESS. SERIOUSLY, THIS IS DISCRIMINATION AND I CAN'T ABIDE IT. I rent cars quite often and I would rather give my money to an awful organization like Hertz than put up with this idiotic selfishness. It's seriously insulting to anyone who needs handicapped parking. It sends a message that people with physical disabilities are not welcome there. I am livid every time I see them do it, and become even more angry when I mention it and am met with dumbfounded nonchalance by the staff. Ugh. Quit it, Prospect Enterprise. This isn't 1954. Wake up and smell the discrimination! Also, there is ALWAYS a wait, a line, a bunch of fumbling around whenever I go in there. It's super annoying. If they are going to so consistently make people wait, then they need to provide more chairs and also kind of clean up the lobby area so that people can be comfortable while they are waiting 30 minutes for a car they reserved. I never rent cars but after someone hit me in a parking lot, I had to get one. The insurance company contacted them about my needs but Enterprise was awesome in taking care of me. They called me immediately and organized a ride from the car shop. After a check in and $50 returnable deposit, I left with a car after 10 minutes. Upon returning the car, I was greeted with a handshake and a smile (at 5 pm in a Friday!!) and was given another ride back to the shop. Everything was so simple and they are almost strangely friendly (like what are they putting in the water here) but I'm thankful for it! read more
