You're better off riding a bike with flat tires through the snow than renting here. The staff is a bunch of bros and they make up rules as they go. last time I rented a vehicle my address was verified and I was told I didn't need my bills to verify it. less than a month later it somehow got unverified and I needed to pull up my bills online. The crazy thing is that there's no phone service, like zero bars, inside the store AND they don't have WiFi, so if you need to log into your accounts - tough $h!t. Once I downloaded a pdf of my phone bill (which was the most current PDF, but had a charge for a phone that was later returned as a trade in), they couldn't accept that because it had a balance. So then I paid my phone bill and showed them in the app that there was now a zero balance due. Well, THAT wasn't good enough and I guess I need to wait a month for my next pdf bill to verify my address? ridiculous. The funny thing is that last time I rented a car at that same store by simply logging into my gas account and phone account and showing them that they were my accounts with the correct address. It all ended with one dude saying he'd do it "just this once", then the manager saying they won't do it, and proceeding to explain to me how phone bills work. Bunch of clowns. Save yourself the headache and self respect and rent from just about anywhere else. read more

I reserved a pickup truck online for August 19, 2025. I checked in online the night before and confirmed everything. When I arrived to pick the vehicle up on the confirmed date and time they did not have a pickup truck available. This ruined my grandson's birthday party because I needed the pickup truck to deliver something to his party. All I got was excuses from Nolan, the guy behind the counter. There is no excuse. If you reserve a pickup truck and it's confirmed through the company to pick it up at a certain location, date and time and it's not there that's the company's fault. People use pickup trucks for specific purposes so if they said they had one they should've had one. Then I called customer service and explained to them what happened and they gave me a reference number and said a manager would call me back. Well guess what, nobody ever called me back. I have been working with this company for over 30 years. It stops today. I will NEVER go back to this company at the Cleveland Heights location or any other location ever again! read more

When my car was in the shop being repaired due to an accident Progressive set me up with a rental through Enterprise. As part of the process they sent me a link to fill out a bunch of information; I did requesting a pickup the next day as early as possible and that I wanted an economy or similar car. So the next morning I get a call from Enterprise letting me know that they don't do pickups and that the would not have a car until about noon. I got myself to the Cleveland Heights location at the scheduled time and was helped by one of the associates. He informed me that the only car that they had available was a Chrysler 300 a much larger car then I wanted and that they would not have anything else available until about 4pm. After all of this I don't understand why they had all of the options online when they could not fulfill any of my requests, I could have just done all of this with a phone call in the morning. The car they did supply was clean and in good condition. Later after driving it in the snow I realized how badly it handled and called to see if I could exchange it for a smaller car, but once again they had no other options available. In addition I realized that I never got a printed copy of the rental agreement only an emailed copy; I had no issues but if I had been stopped by a police officer I would have wanted the necessary paperwork readily available. Overall the renal process was not very satisfying, they did not make getting the rental easy until I got to the location. The rental vehicle was adequate, although not what I wanted. So basically I got a car to drive but I was not very satisfied with the service that I received. read more

Reserved an F150 or similar to move my daughter to college two days before I flew into town. Guys working were super nice and polite I will say. However, they didn't have any trucks. I don't understand how I can make a reservation for a vehicle that is not there. This location was 20 minutes out of the way in which I had to arrange a ride. My 70 year old mom and I then called and drove around town looking for other options until finally finding a flatbed at Home Depot in another city for double the price. All things said and done, it put me two hours behind for our move to Kent State along with an incredible amount of annoyance and stress. It's been a very trying experience this time around with renting a car for our family vacation. It seems that every time we rent through enterprise there is a shortage of cars, employees and answers for questions. This time around we "saved money" on our rental just to find out we actually lost a day in the new agreement which then having to change the drop of time costed us another $122 (from 10am to 10pm which was our original drop off time) half way through our trip we got a flat tire and it was near impossible to get anything out of this company. No correct information, no help, no cars available. nothing. We had to take the car to nearby Meineke to get the tire fixed because a car swap was from a 7 seater to a compact car because of the lack of cars on 2 different lots. I have now been on the phone for over an hour to speak with an employee. In the end i am just completely dissatisfied with the company as a whole. I feel the employees have been given the shortest of sticks. As it is near impossible to do their job with the smallest of margins. It happened again! I can't express enough how satisfied I was with the customer service here in Cleveland Heights! The staff here is great! When companies state, "we're here to satisfy the customers," they really mean it ... and actually do it! This is my 2nd time renting a car in over 20 years. I decided to come back to this particular location, solely due to one person. That one person is Zya Williams. Whatever this young lady is making, it's not enough!! She went out of her way to get me in a vehicle. To make a long story short, I was put on the "do not rent to" list, over 20 years ago. In most cases, the person behind the counter says there's nothing they can do and sends you on your way. Well Zya did just the opposite. She made a few calls and within minutes, my lack of responsibility, which happened over 20 years ago, was forgiven. I was blown away to say the least. She did something for me I wasn't expecting. You don't expect customer service employees to actually SERVICE the customers. Not only did she make it where I could rent from Enterprise again, she made sure I was in a vehicle I was satisfied with. Now this occurred over a month ago, but I told myself if I needed to rent another vehicle in the future, I would definitely come back to Enterprise in Cleveland Heights and see Zya Williams. I've recently had to rent another vehicle and Zya worked her magic again. Zya gave me several options for vehicles, but due to my 6'5" stature, it's hard to find vehicles which would allow the comfortability of driving long periods of time. I pulled Zya Williams aside to ask for her Cash App or Zelle address. I wanted to give her a generous tip for all her efforts. Her response to me was, "I'm just doing my job." I'm very upset by my overall experience from Enterprise over all. I've had to call Enterprise over 27 times about a refund I have yet to receive. The Branch sent me to Damage recovery, DRU sent me back to the branch. This has continuously been a back and forth process. I should not have to contact multiple departments for one claim. Everytime I call, everyone is clueless and points me in a different direction on where I can receive my refund. I've had agents tell me that the claim was accepted then others telling me that it has not. Christina is the only agent I've actually received a call back from. Being continuously told that I don't have an agent so nothing was being done is very unprofessional and unacceptable. I no longer have patients about the matter. I Now need something to be done! When I called State Farm they accepted liability back in AUGUST! I called Statefarm today and they noted that Enterprise contacted them September 27th. Enterprise was told that Statefarm would be accepting liability. State Farm is now waiting to receive a Demand and bill from Enterprise. Statefarm sent an email to you all today. This has been the worst experience ever. I hope there will be someone getting back to me as soon as possible. Due to an unfortunate collision my insurance company set up for me to obtain a rental from this local Enterprise. I was able to set up a pick up service because I live close in proximity. Masks were worn at all times. I was helped by the manager Chris who was extremely accommodating to me. Due to car rentals being an issue after covid I had no clue what to expect. The day I arrived I was given a Nissan SUV. I immediately knew it was not going to work for me after going around the block. The next day Chris was able to obtain me an amazing car, a 2021 Hyundai Ioniq hybrid. The car was super clean. I think cleaner than a dealership. I was skeptical of a hybrid at first. The next day found out my car was totaled. I loved the Hyundai Ioniq so much I didn't want to give it back. I went and bought the same exact new car in a different color. I was really impressed with the support I received from the staff at this particular location. I've rented through Hertz before and I feel Enterprise's staff gave this location a competitive edge that ultimately won me over as a returning costumer. I rented from the Cleveland Heights location for work and Erica assisted me a couple of times. She was great! Her positive demeanor, professionalism, and efficiency within a busy, fast-paced environment made her stand out. She engaged with me on a personal level which gave Enterprise, the big corporation it is, more of an accessible, small-towny (in a good way!) feel to it. I also talked to James a few times over the phone and he was very helpful. Lastly, I called ahead for hours and was running into the store last minute at one point- the employees offered to stay an additional 10 minutes past closing in order to make the sale (which made my life a whole lot easier!). I was a victim twice, first my catalytic converter was stolen, so rental was needed. They took over $300 for security after having to return 3 different vehicles for various reasons. Long story short, all my deposit wasn't returned. Call business office for explanation, still waiting several months later. I will have to go to small claims... I use the Cleveland Heights Branch on Mayfield rd. That is my preferred branch based on the staffing. Manager is a amazing and the reps are just as amazing. You can its a reflection of good management. When I hear the negative comments about Cleveland Heights I'm shocked for the simple fact that I use them very often and have never had any issues that they were unwilling to fix. Run, don't walk to the Cleveland Heights Enterprise Rent-A-Car! There is no reason to rent anywhere else. The staff is exceptional, and they really care about the customer. When I had to rent a car due to an insurance claim, they checked in mid-week to see how my rental was going. I mentioned a small issue - nothing I could not live with - and they said "come on in - we'll put you in another car". Who does that?? Unheard of. And they even upgraded my vehicle since I had to make an extra trip. Ben (the manager) and his team are friendly, conscientious, and knowledgeable. They go the extra mile to make sure the customer is getting the best price, the best service, and the best education about the car they are renting. BEWARE OF THE ENTERPRISE RENTAL LOCATION in CLEVELAND HEIGHTS The employees of this location are unethical & unprofessional. My car was in a collision & my insurance company arranged for me to pick up a rental at Enterprise Rental in Cleveland Heights. I made a 3:00 appointment with Shevin for a luxury car or a SUV. When I got there on time I was told me they could not provide me with my requested vehicle choices. So the area manager Mike came out to speak with us & promised if we could just come back @5, he'd personally make sure there was either a luxury car or a SUV ready for us upon our return. We return at 5 as instructed to be given a SUV that was filthy & smelled of smoke. Shevin again asked if we would return the next morning @9am he would see that vehicle was cleaned & awaiting our arrival the following morning. Upon our return the following morning @9, I was told they had no vehicles available & I could stand around & wait in their tiny "super spreader" waiting area. I was beyond frustrated & openly shared that frustration. They have 0 accountability. The white manager on duty at the time whose name I didn't get flat out refused to assist us in anyway because I was disrespectful, unbelievable. Needless to say I never got my rental. Dissatisfied. They gave me a car that was not properly cleaned/washed, with a Stench in the interior of the car. On top of that, as the salesman checked the mileage on the car he failed to notice the gas tank almost empty as well as the check engine light on, so I had to turn back around after already leaving the lot and Ask them about it. Instead of filling the gas tank like ALL CAR RENTALS SHOULD, he told me I could Just return the car with the same amount of gas-- like it's supposed to Be a good deal for me or something. This Enterprise branch is the best I have rented from. I travel frequently with my University so I come here since the branch manager is so awesome. The branch is great because they get lots of rentals. There is a good selection of cars and the manager helps accommodate your needs. I got a few great upgrades when the car selection was not available. Customer service is superb. They helped give me a few discounts :) They are through in their work, very nice and friendly, and helpful. Everybody at the branch, in my experience, is trying to just get you a great rental car at a low cost. Check the car cleaning. Sometimes, they aren't very through on the cleaning. It's a hit or miss, but for the cost and customer service quality, I will be renting here from now on when I am in Cleveland. In response to Mona's review, this branch does rents cars with varying gas levels. This is true. However, the policy at this branch is to return the car with the same amount of gas. I don't think their review should be dinged. I've rented about 3 cars from this branch with about less than a 1/2 tank gas. I just had them note the gas level and filled it up and returned it with the same amount. The branch manager did say she could also top it off for me across the street. Also, no airport tax! I rented a car for a 4:00 p.m. pick up. And I have not been picked up nor have I been called. I started calling at 3:40 p.m. I never could get through. I sat on hold for over 12 minutes the 1st time period I called back to speak to the national office and they tried to get through to the local agency office and could not. I was on that phone call for about 15 minutes. The national agent did not ever return to the line either. I am in total shock because I have used enterprise for years. No more. As I was traveling from Cleveland to Massachusetts Phil took the initiative to upgrade me to a step above the economy car I asked to be held and my long journey was made so much more comfortable in the brand new Chevy Malibu...and Thank you, thank you Phil for walking me to my car under your umbrella in the adjacent lot in the torrential downpour! Terrible experience. The people are not professional. I dropped my rental off on a Sunday, they were closed so I had to drop the keys off in the drop box... Immediately following that I realized I left my $200 sunglasses in the car. Since they were closed I was not able to get them out. I tried to call and leave a message but there is no voicemail set up. They was also no email on the website so that I could possibly try and send an email. I was out of town for the next two days and when I was finally able to get a hold of someone they told me they didn't find anything in the car. In other words whatever lowlife who works there found them and decided they were just going to keep them. Even after finally getting a hold Of the manager he brushed me off and acted as if he didn't even care. Corporate was contacted and they are helping me to resolve this situation. read more

I have been trying to get my refund since March. I was told by someone from this location that I can leave the rental car at Crash Champions when my car is repaired. Since I went through my insurance for the rental, I signed up for the rental car insurance per Zach's (a store agent) recommendation. He also told me that the only available car for me to use is a GMC Acadia. I even had to wait an extra 25 minutes for the car to be washed and cleaned. He did not mention any extra charges for having this car. My repair was completed on a Friday and I dropped the rental car off at Crash Champions that same day. When everything was finalized, I was charged 3 extra days of rental car insurance because they did not finalize my rental until the following Tuesday, and I was also charged for being given an SUV for the entire rental period. I have talked to 3 different agents for the 3 separate times I went to the store and they all said that it will be "taken care of," but I have not seen a refund to this day. read more

After standing in line and clearly heard people in front of me that had not rented SUV's giving them when my time comes I am told they didn't have anymore. I could take a compact car. No other offers were given. On top of it I dealt the a employee by the name of Josh that totally lied to me an pointed out who the manager was when I approached that employee he stated that was not true! Just had the worst experience at this place. We arrive and there are like 5 customers waiting and only one person waiting on them. One customer was trying to pay but couldn't as the machines were all down. He left. We waited about 20 minutes to be told they had no cars available and couldn't tell us when they would. We would have to wait until one was returned! Mind you we had a reservation. He looked at three surrounding areas no cars. He tells us he didn't no what was going on and they were helping other rental companies?? Why would u give out your cars when your customers dont have cars? Now I have no rental car and I was leaving for out of town. Your clerk had no solution and offered no apologies at all! I than requested something in writing to provide to my company and they have no letter had to give me anything? Absolute worst customer service and what an inconvenience. Had no sympathy for the inconvenience you caused me and my coworker! At a minimum we could have gotten a courtesy call telling us they had no cars available but nope no cars! Called to rent a car on a Wednesday. Lady said "yeahh we don't get our shipment in until like Friday for the weekend." Apparently this is an Enterprise "weekend rental car only" business. Why even open during the week? Update: went back the following week for a 24 hour rental. They wanted a credit card (bank card not acceptable), AND a recent utility bill. I pay my bills and mail them in, so no recent proof. I didn't know places still existed that required utility bills as proof or collateral as anything. They wouldn't accept ebills, car insurance bills, car payments, phone bills, etc. HAD to be utility. They refused to accept cash (standard US currency) for any type of payment. Management was unwilling to be remotely flexible. Lesson learned: if you find yourself in a pinch and need to rent a vehicle, I suggest carrying around copies of paper bills (heaven forbid you have an EFT draft of your utility costs), a credit card, your birth certificate, the blood of your first born child and a recent retina scan so they will allow you to take a car for 24 hours. I now know why Enterprise has the crap reputation it does. read more

I did leave my car in the adjacent lot as I did not have anyone to drop me off at the location and did not have time to wait to be picked up which seems to throw other companies for a loop. First - They were an hour late to pick me up (I had to call them to ask where they were and they said "oh, we were supposed to pick you up?" Yes - indeed you were. We only talked 4 days prior because I felt like you'd forget if I scheduled it a month out). Next, I get to the lot and they told me that none of the cars are insured and that I'd have to provided proof that I had car insurance; otherwise, I'd have to purchase some. This didn't make any sense to me, because car insurance covers the car (typically), not always the driver. Also, I hadn't been told this when I booked the car or I would have brought my insurance info. Additionally, the "coupon code" that I used to book the car (on Enterprise's website, no less) supposedly included comprehensive insurance of the rental car (my confirmation paper showed this) but they denied this was true. They claimed it was a glitch of the coupon's site, though I had used a code ON ENTERPRISE'S website. I declined the insurance because I figured I had enough proof if something were to have happened. All in all, I feel they were being manipulative and were just trying to squeeze an extra $160 out of me. I am very disappointed in the way they handled the situation and I will not use them as a company ever again. Very poor way to do business. read more

I am a prof driver from cle hts oh!- go to honest & reliable transportation on YELP! sometimes folks want me to drive them out of town. i have used this enterprise a few times because it is cheaper for my customers to rent a car here and have me drive them to columbus, detroit, etc. than to be charged mileage and use my own car. their service is great and the car was always ready on time! i only had one problem: i hate most technology incl touchscreen heat and radio controls. i am a dinosaur and proud of it! they tried to give me a touchscreen car, even though i had requested no touchscreen, and we had to wait 20min to get a diff car, i think it was a versa, with hand controls for heating and radio. we got the "dinosaur" car and went on our way! thank u enterprise! read more

I would not rent from this location again. They put a damage claim against me following a rental even though I still have the contract to show that the damage was present before I rented it, my deposit was refunded when I returned it, and the location where I dropped the car off agreed that the damage was done prior to my rental. This location actually told me that if the damage is noted on the previous 10 contracts, then I am liable. So, person #1 damages a car and person #2, person #3, person #4 all the way to person #10 are all liable for the same damage. I would suggest that you always save your contracts from Enterprise for at least a few months, but I did that, and they're still trying to scam me. read more

This started out lower but they apologized and upgraded, which helps. We were getting a car through Erie Insurance because of some repair work being done. I spoke to Sean a co assistant manager 3 times that day. I had only TWO items before deciding to rent from them. #1 was that they pick up my daughter after work and then go to their office to do paperwork and rent the car. #2 was that I asked what the INSURANCE cost was per day for me to be added. His answer was $10 a day. #1 was botched. So at 4:30 no one came to pick up my daughter, who is the renter. Enterprise's slogan is "We'll pick you up." Ha! I had given them her cell number but no one called either. Then, she called their Mayfield office but was told they had no record of her pickup!!! Sean had left. She finally took an Uber to Enterprise. After arriving, they found her record but would not pay back the Uber cost, and instead offered 2 days rental "add on" which we didn't need since the rental car was covered. #2 was botched. My daughter was told that insurance per day was $14.95 not $10 like I was told. When I spoke with Sean the next day it was clear he had not listened to me say INSURANCE and had only talked about the fee for adding a driver even though I had repeated INSURANCE and said that I was only going to drive two days of the whole rental period he wasn't listening despite my best efforts. They did apologize and upgraded her car which we appreciate. I just am not confident they will get the next reservation right so I can't go higher than three. read more
