If I could give negative stars I would. I booked my rental one month ago and they waited until less than 24 hours before I was supposed to pick up my rental to call me and tell me they do not have my rental available. They did not have any vehicles a size I needed to use. Then told me that I could call around and see if anyone else had them. When I try to calmly, ask why they weren't the ones calling around to find a rental for me since they gave my reservation away. The guy tried telling me that because of a recall on vehicle, they could not give me this vehicle, that I booked it a month ago. They obviously gave it to someone else. When I tried to explain that I find it very unprofessional. The man hung up on me mid sentence. To say I was livid and my blood was boiling is a understatement. I would never use or deal with Enterprise! If you do make sure you decline insurance! My son was hit in PA ( side swiped) the person that rented the rental declined insurance. Let someone else drive the rental who was not an authorized driver neither was the passenger. They totaled the rental car and my son can't get any info on the person who rented the car because of privacy bullcrap. So we can't get his truck fixed. But yet the person who was unauthorized driving said vehicle, is going after my sons insurance for medical because all my sons info was on the police report. So tell me enterprise how is that fair? We called the unauthorized drivers insurance and we were told that we have to go after the person who rented its insurance, help me make sense of this? Absolutely not! Worst rental experience ever. No cars as promised over the phone, especially disappointing cause we called to book. They would not upgrade us once they realized either. Then they were rude to my wife and when I went inside to call them out for it they were rude and rolled their eyes at me. Called customer service they told me someone would call me in the next business day. Super fail it has been three weeks no response. Switching to another company. Not to mention the lack of professional dress and horrible appearance shows. Also loved the fact that when they are busy the call center picks up the phone and lies to everyone because supposedly the inventory is not realtime. so story time, I was in an accident July 1. my car has been in the shop (and still is) My insurance got me a rental for 30 days through Enterprise. I paid my 100.00 deposit. all is well i return the car and was told my deposit would be refunded. I explained that the bank card which was hacked. (at this point i feel it was by the enterprise employee that processed the payment) so this card is no longer active. They assured me that it is going to the account associated not the card. A couple days go by No refund. I have called a 3 times per day. Through the branch and the main number. I am told they show it went through on there side and i need to fight with my bank. I have spoken with the bank multiple times. gave them the "Authorization" number the bank is saying no, no attempts to deposit the refund. I have asked to speak with someone above the ppl i have been talking to they tell me someone will call me back. NO ONE is calling me back. I honestly feel i was robbed. read more

It's not their fault that the main enterprise number has no clue what the inventory actually is and so it creates a big cluster F if you go through them. Try to get a hold of this branch directly and they will help you. After two hours of trying to do it online or over the phone I finally just showed up there. Taylor was so sweet and helpful and apologetic for, any trouble I had had and they not only found me the perfect car for me and my three boys, while our car was being repaired, but they also took me back to pick it up without a hitch. If I could do less than 1 i would do that. Enterprise in Durham is prejudiced against northerners and elderly women. The manager a young man I had to deal with extremely rude. I was tired when I got there. I thought the responsible thing to do would be to take a nap. So I did. When I went to get the keys he questioned whether i was able to drive. That I took a 2 hour nap. I set my alarm and it was 1 hour. Whether 1 hour or 2 hours it is still the responsible thing to do. When backing up he said i hit a customers car and put a thin crack in the fender. Another customer looked for damage and saw none. This car has a back up system. It should have set an alarm if it got too close. It did not. No-one went over the system with me. Like cruse control. From the day i picked it up i kept getting no windshield wiper fluid. If you put down a window the car would be pulled. A gear like imagine would go on for a while and go off and later on again. No idea what it meant. A light with a circle and ! Is always on. No idea what that is. A couple of days ago a message came on that said step on brake hard to engage brakes. Back to sales man and manager. I keep waiting for the key. After about a hour for the keys I beeped the horn. A young black girl came out. I was very upset by then. I didn't swear at her but I probably did raise my voice. The sales person came out and started yelling at me that i scared this young lady. Well instead of finishing with one customer the start with another and leave others waiting. That's not professional at all. He and the manager are a poor representation for enterprise! I will never recommend them. The sales person and manager should be reprimanded for their poor service. The sales person kept questioning whether I could drive. The vehicle you book is never available. They are always having issues with "late returns", late airport drop offs and other excuses. I have given them a chance to make my current rental right by driving to the location ahead of time and talking to the manager to make sure everything was going to be perfect. He assured it was going to be. When I arrived to pickup my car (I was a bit early, yes) they obviously didn't had what I booked. They gave me an upgrade but it wasn't really an upgrade that met my needs. It was, honestly, an useless upgrade. Don't rent here, it seems like it is a recurring issue with this location. read more

I have used this location about 3-4 times that I have needed a vehicle in the past year. The location that I previously used was definitely much better, but has since closed down (wrong location closed, in my opinion). I only use this one due to its proximity to me and the opt for after-hours drop off. Aside from the check-in process being slow AF, both times they did not have what I requested. I did not even request a specific make/ model, just a certain type. The first instance was in June when I requested a small SUV, the example on their website was a Kia soul (or something to that extent). So when I arrive they offer a much larger suv. I told them that's not what I wanted and told him I needed something the size of the example on the site (i.e. Kia soul). He tells me that's more of a hybrid, not an SUV. I get that, but whhhhy put it on the site under category of compact suv then try to give me something in a different class when I arrive. Luckily they had a Nissan rogue and I was a satisfied with that. In November I need the same type of vehicle again and reserve online (the same hybrid example was still being used to illustrate small SUV,but whatever). I arrive and NO SUV available whatsoever! They offered a pick-up truck. I tell him that's not gonna work. Note that it is after 5pm day before Thanksgiving and I am headed out of town that night (Pretty much no opt for another rental place). I had made the reservation more than a week ahead so why Enterprise does not have the courtesy to inform customers when a requested vehicle type is not available PRIOR to the scheduled pick it time is beyond me! Anyway I settle for a Nissan Altima that someone else had literally just dropped off. There were absolutely no other options for me aside from a pick up truck or a super small car until this Nissan just happened to be dropped off. So dude rush-cleaned it. The next day when the sun rose I discovered that it was NOT clean (black smudges upside the Interior walls and other customers' personal items in glove box) Not only that, but I had reserved the vehicle with a corporate discount and dude lost my discount code in process of re-doing the reservation because they didn't have what I initially reserved. Needless to say I left out of there annoyed to the 10th power! When I need a vehicle again I will prob look into another company because I just can't with them anymore... read more

Make sure you get a receipt for your rental AND check it. I've rented from Enterprise for personal and professional reasons for more than twenty years now. I've never had an experience like this one where my rental was not closed out when I returned the vehicle; calls to customer service yielded no results; and, more than a week after returning the vehicle, the rental has disappeared from my Enterprise app and I still don't have the receipt I need to submit to my corporate office. The worst car rental experience I've ever had. The manager Brendan Barteau and his staff are very condescending, rude, and lack integrity and respect for the customer. I was also shunned and given wrong information several times. Enterprise charged me for an extra day without informing me, which turned my $50 deposit into $5. Then Mr. Barteau had the nerve to call me with a follow up stating "hopefully you don't need us again." How rude and demeaning. Also the vehicle I rented was not clean, nor had a full tank. This Enterprise doesn't even deserve one star. They didn't have a car in stock for us so they tried to give us a full size truck but that wouldn't meet our needs. I asked if we could get a car and trade it out at another location, the answer was no. Finally they said they had a little car they could give us, ok no problem we will take that. We get it and start driving and it is pulling so much to the left that I could barely drive it. We call the office and they said they would refund our money. I made a reservation with another enterprise that had a car in stock. This enterprise refunded our money but failed to tell us it wouldn't be available for 3-5 days, so now we are stuck with no car to drive and a road trip planned to Arizona. I live here in NC about 6 months out of the year. The rest, I am working in Colorado. For this reason I keep a car in Colorado and maintain a Colorado Drivers License. The wife has the car here and maintains an NC Drivers license. I have been renting from Enterprise for 4 years, Specifically at 1421 Highway 29 North Concord, NC 28025. I walk in, I give my member #, My reservation, My DL, My CC - done. We walk around the care and I am out in 10 minutes. Until Today. Today, I can't rent a car because I have out out of state license. Ummmm, Ive had an out of state license for the past 4 years! So I have to bring the wife in to rent the car. Now, even though her license has our address - they need a bill with our address on it. They need to call our insurance company and verify. They need 2 emergency numbers. Bank card not good enough, they need a major CC. 40 MINUTES LATER we finally have a car. MAYBE if this was my first time renting. Maybe. But I am a members plus card holder who has been renting here for 4 YEARS This will be my last business trip to Enterprise. After multiple phone calls we were assured that it was okay for me to pay for the rental even though it was in my son's name. When we went to pick the car up today we were told that wasn't possible - either my son had to have a debit card in his name or I had to rent the car in mine. Seeing as how I don't own a car and can't drive because of epilepsy of course I have no insurance and theirs is priced ludicrously. My son has full coverage on his truck but since I'm not on the policy, no go. I probably could have handled it if the chick (believe me, she was no lady) and then the manager were beyond rude. Did I mention that we have done this twice before with no problem? According to the *insert your own derogatory term here* at the counter, "policies change all the time". I'm sorry I forgot your name, he was a nice gentleman with a beard (from what I could see with the mask). I had a mechanical issue with the car I originally rented from them, I called them while I was on the way there and he quickly got us into a car in the same class as the one we had previously rented. I had my 2 kids with me and I'm 30 weeks pregnant, so his helpfulness and quick action did not go unnoticed! Went to pickup my rental tonight and the young lady who helped us, Liz, was not very friendly and seemed a little condescending. Asked if we had rented there before and I said yes, about three months ago. She couldn't find us in their system. She said there would be a $200 deposit and that they had a compact car for us but of course we could upgrade to a larger car for an additional price. The original contract indicated we could get a larger car for the same price but she said no. We went out and looked over the car and when she asked for payment I gave her my debit card. She said she would need a utility bill with my name and address on it. I said "Who carries a utility bill with them?" She said it was company policy and she couldn't do anything about it. I said when I rented a car from them a few months ago I used the same debit card without issue. She said "policies change". I expressed my dissatisfaction and handed her a credit card. She said "I don't think I'm going to rent to you!" I said let's just do this so I can get on my way. She said "No, I'm not going to rent to you!" Now mind you, I never raised my voice, used profanity, spoke in a threatening manner nor resorted to name calling. Asked talk to her manager and she said she was the boss. Not really sure what happened with Elizabeth but we left mad and without a car. Business must be really good to tell a customer who has rented from Enterprise for many years "I'm not going to rent to you" I have an appointment to have some work done on my car the tomorrow morning, now with no car to drive. Guess it's time to find another car rental company. I am a high medallion member and rent cars on a daily basis all over the country. I have never been treated as poorly as I have at this Enterprise rental location. After finding someone to drive me here and I even called ahead to let them know I would be showing up right at closing time to pick up my reservation they turned me away at the door with multiple employees inside. They needed nothing from me!! There were 5+ people in the waiting area when I arrived and was still turned away rudely. I was not late!!! The other Enterprise rental location in Concord bends over backwards for me to help me and my crew with our rentals. I will never rent a car from this location. Had nobody to pick me up. My wife came home ready to leave for the beach. Went to get the car. Staff had LOTS of excuses !!! Where is customer service , with a notification at 1:00? Went to pick up a car that we had a reservation for claimed the drivers license was too faded to see even though you could see the picture was clearly the person picking it up. told us at 5 pm to go to the dmv to get a new copy knowing we were leaving the same night to go to Florida. The staff are quick to acknowledge me and say Good Morning or Good Afternoon. When a car didn't meet my standards, they were ready and willing to make a change to suit my needs. One thing I would suggest is that the cars be cleaned and wiped down on the inside better. There's something about dried coffee or other liquid on the doors or seats that bothers me. Never again! I would have given 0 points, but it's not an option. A debit card with a 200.00 hold on my account, plus a drivers license wasn't enough. We rented a car on Friday....receive a call Friday at 5:00 pm that they needed a pay stub, a utility bill and another form of ID before they would give us a car. We managed to provide what they needed even though this was never required before. New policies went in effect. Ok..we get there to pick up the car. It was a compact car instead of the car we were promised. If that wasn't enough, the car was filthy, smelled like musty cigarettes, and it was covered in salt from a prior snowstorm. I spent 2 hours cleaning the car. There was actually French fries under the seat! Plus I had to fumigate the smell! That is the last time we will go there. Very unorganized, nasty workers! You can book a reservation if you give them your life story and documents to back it up, but in return you get a disaster. Thank God our hotel was hassle-free. Don't use this rental agency, save yourself the headache! They know you're at their mercy, and could care less......very dissatisfied.... read more

I will never rent from this location again. Chris and Allyssa were fantastic, but Brad was very rude and unprofessional. I rented a car on August 14, and returned the car on the 17th. Till this day I have not received my security deposit back, and every time I ask about it I always get a different answer. With them still owing me money I was still renting from that location because it is very close to my house. I had a reservation for Labor Day weekend, and the night before I was still trying to get my deposit back so after not being successful in the branch I called and made a complaint with the corporate office because it has been almost a month, and I still haven't received my money yet. So when I went to pick up a car I was told by Brad that he would no longer rent to me.... Really you owe me money and because I took action your going to penalize me for that. So I had to scramble at the last minute trying to find another car on the holiday weekend because he refused to rent to me for something that was not my fault at all... I still have not received my money, and no one has even cared to contact me about the situation. Some of the employees there need to take courses on how to be polite and professional to customers who spend their hard earned money. I would never recommend this location to anyone EVER.. Made a reservation with enterprise on Wednesday August 24, 2016 for today August 26, 2016. I spoke with someone on Thursday August 25, 2016 to see about pick up service. It was confirmed that some would pick me up at 8am. I provided additional information advise I'll be paying with a credit card because with a credit card you don't need your insurance information or utility bill. O.k. so everything's setup. Later that day I received a follow-up call for confirmation of pickup. So, today August 26, 2016 I received a call 7:50am again confirming how I'm making payment advise credit card and was advise someone will be here to pick me up around 8:00am. 8:20 rolls around I give a call and was informed I don't qualify for rental because I have a past due bill. I advised we never discussed a bill that I was paying with credit card. I asked what bill did they see because we didn't discuss anything about a bill and I just got off he phone with someone who said a car was picking me up. I asked to speak with the individual I spoke with earlier. When he got on the phone I said you just got off the phone with me and I was paying with credit card; he said oh yeah. We'll send someone out. I asked to speak with manage and he put his supervisor on the line. I advise I wanted a manager because I spoke with her and she didn't know what was going on. The manager wasn't available so I said I'll speak with him when I get there. Ten minutes later the manager calls me back said he'll give me a free upgrade I advise a free upgrade is useless. He then says he'll send a car to pick me up. A car was suppose to be sent again 10 min. ago. I asked for corporate number; he asked what I needed that for; umm...to voice a complaint. Needless to say he didi't give me the number. I cancelled. Bottom line, enterprise messed up and initially cancelled my reservation. Throughout speaking with everyone no apology was issued.
