It was not the best experience. Unfortunately, I cannot blame the personnel entirely, but I tried to rent a car. I was picked up by a friendly driver and ultimately. I spent 45min at theocation trying to self resolve an issue for something was not within their control, but c'est la vie. They did make a call to the validity of my license which had an unusual deformation or damage on the tip of the edge. He went back to make a call. Recommended he could take a receipt for a new license, but the DMV stated I was not eligible for an online or telephonic renewal. Other agencies have accepted the same license without issue, but the folks at Enterprise decided against it. The low score is ultimately for the store to provide the service in a timely fashion. Abel, is the decision maker on this one. Though I appreciate his sticking to his guns, I didn't end up getting a rental in a timely fashion. I ended up making a needless trip to the DMV for a lesson in semantics. The Enterprise team said because of the damage to the license I needed to "renew" the license online. As stated earlier, I wasnt eligible. The DMV, verified that the card was still valid, said that I could "replace" the card online I do appreciate their willingness to shuttle me around. That was helpful, and bought time for a solution to arise. Ethan...thank you for your patience and support. Had it not been for you, the transaction and reservation with Enterprise would have been lost. I would have had to critically alter travel plans. God send. I recommend making sure that your documentation is in good order, but overall. It worked out, and that was as a result of the staff. Abel said bottom line, they had cars to rent, and that I would get it...and it did, eventually. Another thing about this location are it's business hours...7:30am to 6pm on weekdays. It's limiting, and even more so without an after hours drop off. It's a way, but there's other ways. The location is close, and the staff are helpful. I appreciate that. read more

I was headed out for a weekend getaway and needed a comfortable, reliable ride that could hold all my stuff, my dog and my gal pal's stuff- so I rented a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4. It was loaded and I became very spoiled! So not only did I get a great vehicle but the process of picking up my rental and driving away was quick and easy! I used the location on the upper west side which was so convenient. Dropping off the vehicle and checking out was also quick and easy. I reserved a car for 7:30am because I wanted it for the entire day and wanted to make sure it would be ready as early as I could get there. I ended up getting to the rental place at about 9:10. I was shocked to find out that they had rented my car to someone else and there were no more cars available! "If you can wait until tonight, we should be able to get you a car." "If you wait around for an hour, maybe a car will be available." Neither of these options was acceptable and I left, hoping that my 2000 Ford Explorer would make the 700 mile trip we were planning. (I'm writing this at a mechanic's shop about 400 miles away, and although that's beside the point, it has only fueled my anger about this whole situation) I asked them "did someone just walk in and rent a car, then?" The man who helped me explained that there was an auto paint shop next door and that someone came from there and rented it. He further explained that they hold the car for one hour after reservation time and after that, the car is released. "It's like a dinner reservation. If you're late, they don't hold it for you." IT'S NOT LIKE DINNER RESERVATIONS!!!! It's not beef stroganoff. If someone has taken the time to reserve a vehicle, it's most likely because they NEED a vehicle. I do understand that a business has a responsibility to maximize their income potential and if there's a chance that someone is going to flake on a reservation, that it would be a waste to just let the car sit in the lot. THAT'S WHY WE HAVE PHONES!!! A quick phone call would have made my life so much easier, but they did nothing to give me a chance. If there were just one or two people working there, I'd be more understanding, but there were four people. Surly someone could have picked up a phone. So disappointed in you, Enterprise. Update: After multiple emails back and forth with Enterprise, they did nothing to help me except say they would make a note and try to do better next time. Each email was with a different person and I suspect they were all bots. Thanks for wasting more of my time, Enterprise. Just say it in your response to my review rather than have me through hoops for answers that were already included in my own review (i.e. "reservations are held for one hour" - that was explained to me and THAT is what I'm upset about - the unwritten rule and lack of courtesy call.) A better reply would have been - we completely understand your frustration and are so sorry for the inconvenience. It is our policy to give the customer a courtesy call before abandoning their reservation and we apologize that this did not happen in your case. The manager of that branch has been made aware of this inconvenience and has assured us they will follow protocol if this should happen again. As a token of our sincerity in our commitment to improve our service, we would like to offer you 25% off your next Enterprise rental (or a free extra day with any rental three days or more - or SOMETHING!). Absolutely terrible experience. This location doesn't even deserve one star. This is probably one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with in El Paso. These people DO NOT care! I was left in a bind ONE day before I was going out of town! What upsets me more is their attitude. They didn't really do anything about my issue. In fact, I left without a car and had to call a Lyft to come for me. I made a reservation for an intermediate sized car weeks before this transaction was supposed to happen. The car they had for me wasn't intermediate. It was more of a compact/economy sized car. A female that worked there tried telling me it was what I ordered! I wanted a Hyndai or Toyota, or a car around that size, not a Chevy Cruze hatchback! She kept telling me they were the same size! There was a Hyndai right next to this Cruze and they were not the same size. She said I would have to wait 30-45 minutes for a Toyota. I was willing to wait until they told me I had to pay more! They didn't even get what I wanted and now I have to pay more money?! They picked me up to get the car. The driver wasn't even friendly at all...no biggie. The thing that upsets me the most is that they didn't care... much less really do anything about it. They acted like it was my fault! They got mad because I didn't settle for that car. I had to get a Lyft to pick me up because I was done dealing with them! The manager didn't care either or do anything about it. Never again! I'll go with Avis or someone else. In fact, they were telling potential customers to go to Avis because they were out of cars. Yeah, I probably will have to do that or just take my own car. My girlfriend request and was promised a smaller vehicle that would be good on gas (since her actual car that is good on gas was being fixed after a hit and run) and she was given a SUV at first and when we asked for a smaller car, the best they could do was a "smaller SUV" and it was basically a gas guzzler. I had a so-so experience here. Customer service could use a little attention, but I'm not opposed to this location if I'm going through Enterprise since it's close to where I live. My husband's car was in the shop so our insurance company set up a rental at this Enterprise. When we started talking to an associate, we were offered three different cars, we made a selection and then as we were going through everything advised how much we needed to pay... hold up, my question was "Is that the same price for all of the cars you offered?" The answer was "no" so I'm not entirely sure why the associate wouldn't have gone over pricing while offering the cars. Later on this became even more confusing because they had more than the three cars available so I'm not sure why they only offered those three (and no, none of them were similar to what my husband drives). Then when we were asked for a card which we provided. We finished more paperwork and then the associate disappeared. And charged our card. Would've like to be told ahead of time that our card was being charged and the price. The car we got was eh at best. It wasn't in horrible shape or anything, but it didn't have a key fob and I went over every ding on that car with them (because there were a lot) to make sure they were already aware of them even though they kept saying they were fine because they were under a certain size which seemed to annoy the associate. Not the best experience I've had with a rental. The car was fine, but the customer service left a lot to be desired. When we had questions or we brought up concerns it really seemed like we were bothering them. If we ever go back, hopefully this experience was just an off experience. read more

I'm not sure if this was just a rookie with no knowledge of cars, or just take advantage of a lady thing. They passed off a Kia Forte as a Camry equivalent, when it is clearly a Corolla clone. If I didn't have leave at 4am tomorrow, it would be back on lot at 8am. Now we're stuck with it for a week. My wife picked it up at 5pm and by the time I got home from work, it was already in the driveway. Do better. It's no surprise that this location has a 2.5 rating. I was stuck in a difficult situation and needed a same day one-way rental, and I had no issues with how promptly they took care of me. Dirty and dusty! I was provided a rental through my insurance policy while my truck was being repaired and was happy to find out the rental would be through Enterprise. That emotion changed as soon as I was given a dirty, crusty car. No effort was made to clean the car on the inside. It was washed on the outside and left at that. read more

Horrible business. They don't honor reservations at all. No one at the office actually knows what's going on or what cars they have. You have to literally go down to the location to see what vehicles they have that day. They won't bring the car to you either. We made a reservation 3 weeks ago, and called a day ahead to make sure everything's is good. We needed a premium SUV. I was told on the phone that the car is ready to go and that I should come the next day at 11 to pick it up. When I got there they didn't have the car, or even any SUVs at all, or even a van. Nothing. The guy at the desk said I must have talked to the "reservation" ppl yesterday and not him directly. So I guess if you call the location but don't know the specific person who will be at the front desk that day you can't get accurate info?!?!? That is absolutely ridiculous. They didn't even really apologize. Just said it's all based on returns. And that they probably should have called me. Yeah you think! I find it hard to believe that they didn't have any SUVs returned in the last 3 weeks. If you don't honor reservations why do you even have that option?!! We had a reservation here and Ubered with our kids from the airport. When we got here the manager Oscar Reyes told us they had no cars. What?!?! How is this possible. He just threw up his hands and basically told us to figure it out. I'm sitting outside enterprise right now with my kids in the hot sun trying to find a car with no luck. There goes our family vacation. I would suggest NEVER renting with #enterprise. Update: I contacted the email @enterprise gave me @care@ehi.com and their response was only a branch manager or regional manager would be able to provide a refund and that a manager would follow up. The service at this location is awesome! The moment you enter the door somebody either helps you or if they're busy they tell you they will be right with you. I also needed a ride home afterwards and it was no problem. If I need to rent a car in El Paso again, I will definitely be coming here! read more

I made a reservation in advance. Someone from Enterprise called me to confirm my rental for 18 October at 7:30am. When I went to get the car I was told they wouldn't have any cars until 930. I needed the car for 730am. They could have mentioned they won't have cars available until later. As it turns out they don't receive any cars until after 9 or 10am from the airport. I'm a regular at this Enterprise and the staff is always extremely polite and courteous. They know me by name and, despite usually being very busy, manage to keep customers flowing rapidly. In one incident, my wife and I did not like the car that we had been given. It was a new one in their fleet that they got from another rental location. We tried it out and decided it would not work for us, so we called Enterprise and the staff stayed past closing time so that we could trade in the car for a better one that met our needs. Do not rent from Enterprise! They are very shady! We were forced to rent from them after our vehicle was damaged in a hit and run. When renting the vehicle we had no issues, did a very quick walk around the vehicle and saw no visible damage. When we returned the vehicle they did a ridiculous inspection of the vehicle and claimed there was a dent on the vehicle. No sign of any paint transfer, and we could not even see the dent. They insisted we needed to pay for the damage and would be taking the vehicle to their repair shop. We contacted our insurance adjuster and he said he has been hearing this a lot lately about this location and contacted Enterprise himself to take a look at the vehicle. They refused to let a qualified insurance person to look at the "supposed damage". Why would you ever refuse someone who does this work for a living review damage unless there was not really any damage there???? read more

From initial rental to the return of the car, the whole experience was very pleasant. The young lady who rented the car to me and the one receiving it when I returned it were very friendly and helpful. The car rental was a last minute thing and I still got a good price and the car I wanted. The car was clean and nicely equipped. I have rented from other car rental companies and have gotten dirty, beat up cars. Not here. The car was non-smoking and contrary to some other cars from other companies I have rented, this car did not smell of stale cigarette smoke. Although it was busy both when I rented the car and when I returned it, they had enough personnel on hand to get me in and out quickly. Very pleased with this El Paso location. I will rent from Enterprise again and am sure the experience will be the same. Highly recommend. read more

Rent from this location often. Went to get my full size reserved car today, and again they didn't have what I had reserved. They offered a Jeep Liberty or Chevrolet Cruz. How can they not make sure they have the size car you reserved? They said they knew they didn't have the car size I wanted and had saved the Jeep Liberty as it is a little larger than most intermediates and was an upgrade. I was also told that they have had the issue most of the summer because Enterprise isn't buying new cars. I know they had a Ford Edge on the lot but was not offered that as it came in while I was there. Needless to say, I went down the street to Hertz (inside the Mazda dealership) and got a premium car for only $16 more than what I was going to pay at Enterprise plus an additional day, so it's a win/win. I am a very disappointed Enterprise Plus member! This is not the first time that they haven't had what I wanted. read more

I had reserved an intermediate car and they actually gave me a Jeep Patriot at no extra cost. It was great because we were driving from El Paso to New Hampshire and having the 4x4 was a great comfort just in case of in-climate weather. When I returned I was really sick with pneumonia and the flu so having the back end to lie down in was also great as well as they were able to come and pick the car up from me rather than me worrying how I was going to get it back.
