I paid $820 for an SUV that ended up having a broken windshield washer nozzle and a ripped wiper blade. I was in a bad storm and couldn't see out the windshield due to not being able to use the washer fluid and wiper. I tried to clear it myself for 20 minutes in freezing temps. We had to stop every 20-30 minutes to manually clear the windshield. Sometimes in areas that had a shoulder not wide enough for a car, as Semi's were going past me at 40-60mph. A 14hr trip turned into a 19 hr trip. I was told my charges would be paused until I received a call from the manager. 3 days later, no call and charges have posted. We also had a nonstop warning from the rear trunk latch and sensors that randomly would not work and flash for hours on the dash. While driving we called enterprise and asked for help but due to the holiday and being late on a Friday, they couldn't offer us anything. It was a miserable, scary experience. BAIT AND SWITCH I reserved a rental & when I arrived we tried to determine if my 6'5," large husband would fit in the car I ordered.. I gave them an example of a minivan that he fit into. I was told they had one available that no one was using. When I checked out I was TOLD the price was still $178 (same as the original rental). In the past, other agencies have upgraded the size of the car at no extra charge out of courtesy and desire to keep your business. Unfortunately, I trusted what I was told & signed the paper. Upon returning the car they charged $279. I explained to the manager, Renee, what transpired & showed her the reservation which fell on blind eyes. I explained that I was told total was $178 not $278. She literally prevented me from speaking directly to the person I originally dealt with even after stating that he was there today. She was INFLEXIBLE & CONDESCENDING & lost herself a customer &: Enterprise member. My lesson is to read everything carefully & to AVOID this Queens Blvd Enterprise at all costs. My review for the location itself is great. The person I dealt with mostly was Rene. She ensured I had a clean vehicle each time I rented (my car was in the shop due to an accident). She was kind, professional and efficient. The company as a whole however, needs to get its act together. When one calls the main line/customer support 855-266-9565 - that's when you are bombarded with wrong/disinformation. They tell you that if you have a costco membership you can get a discount when you present your membership or that they will provide you with a code to get a discounted rate on your rental - SIMPLY UNTRUE. YOU MUST RENT VIA THE COSTCO WEBSITE in order to get discounted rates. They tell you that you can drop off your vehicle on Sunday (re: Hillside Ave location) and leave the key in the box when you point out that they are closed, ONCE AGAIN, SIMPLY UNTRUE. You MUST RETURN THE VEHICLE ON MONDAY. There is no ability to return the vehicle on a Sunday at these local locations (Forest Hills, Jamaica) without incurring an additional cost for returning a vehicle at different location. Which for me and my situation was not a real issue but what if I had to catch a flight and was counting on that info to be accurate?? I do not understand what Enterprise does not get. Having your main calling hub tell customers untrue policies with their full throat puts the staff in the respective location(s) in horrible positions of having to disappoint the customer after the call center set a false expectation. One of my reservations was rife with so many errors/lies that it almost led to an argument with someone at one of the locations. The person took my reservation date incorrectly, didn't tell me that I needed to get a new code from my claims adjuster. Just acted as though everything was normal and said "ok, well, we will see you tomorrow" after my making the reservation. Thirty min or so later a person from the location called me to confirm if I was coming to pick up on that (same) day. I said no, that's scheduled for tomorrow. He then started to run some prices I said, no this is to go under this code - he was like that code has expired. The cost is xyz. I'm like wha?? Why didn't the other agent say so!? The exchange became unpleasant for a few exchanges but cooler heads prevailed and I contacted my claims adjuster, got the code and made (yet another) reservation. All went fine afterwards. But situation was so unnecessary. The main line/corporate hub does not deal in reality - they have no working knowledge of what goes on, on the ground. I strongly recommend one call the location of interest and get (hopefully) a better sense of policy, what they can/cannot do and what they do/don't accept. read more

I am giving It 1 star bc I can't give less! The current manager Karina (spelling) that took over a few months ago is terrible. I have been going here for over 20 years and have even brought past employees gifts from my trips as appreciation as they have always been so kind, attentive and professional. This manger has given me a wrong quote and now charges me for two extra days when I thought I was doing the right thing during a snow storm. And doesn't have the decency to call me! Just charges me the extra days and closes out my contract... AFTER THE OFFICE NOT PICKING UP! For the first time I have filed a complaint with corporate. What a shame as convenient as the location is I will no longer rent from them or enterprise as long as she is the manger. Literally the worst customer service, I walked in and the tall black guy was grabbing food and he looked at me like he was upset and said "woah your coming in hot" when all I did was just walked in through the door and he repeated it twice and then he looks at me and just says "r n n" and I was confused idk what that means then he says it again "r n n" and I asked what is that he replies "your body shop" and I replied "oh yes r & n collision" and he shakes his head and laughs and looks at the other workers and keeps shaking his head like I was stupid. I came to enterprise for a StateFarm claim which I wasn't happy about because I had my own vehicle but was hit by someone so now needing to rent. From the initial phone call before arriving in person to the office, Kody gave me excellent customer service. He was so subtle, kind and helpful. My stay in the rental was to be for a week or 2 but my personal car was totaled so I needed the rental longer. I also spoke with Solomon a few times and he was very helpful as well. I have now had the rental going on 4weeks and Kody as well as Solomon have been amazing guys each time I call in rather to vent, ask questions or extend my rental. THANK YOU KODY & SOLOMON! Dealing with him over the phone first was an efficient and pleasant experience. Like so many other customers who have written reviews below, we showed up to pick up our van (we needed to move some pieces of furniture a long distance), only to be told that they did not have any van for us. We insisted, politely, several times that we were promised a van and we needed one. The manager smiled and then proceeded to be extremely rude, telling my husband it was his fault and who does he think he is. He wanted to rent us a compact car though we had paid for a full-size van. Soon other customers showed up and he returned to smiling and saying nonsense, like you cannot rent if you do not have a reservation. We had one, open on my husband's phone. He got very angry, because the other couple who was waiting for their car started to get anxious that they would not have a car either and started asking if there car was available or if they should go elsewhere. At one point we showed him the van on his lot, and said, this is the kind of van we reserved. The manage told us he needed this for something a colleague was doing later in the day. To top all of this off, the manager put us on a no-rental list. This is someone who knows nothing about running a business and is dishonest and manipulative. read more

I was a long time Zipcar member until I began to realize that renting a Zipcar for more than 6-7 hours on the weekend easily costs just as much as renting from Enterprise for the entire weekend (Saturday morning to Monday morning). Plus, Zipcar has been drastically reducing their fleet in Forest Hills recently for some reason as if it wasn't already difficult enough to get a car (ANY CAR) on the weekends. And most credit cards cover your insurance and I rarely drive enough even for the entire weekend so gas is not a huge factor. The great thing about Enterprise is that they often hook you up with upgrades. In fact, I've gotten upgraded every single time I've rented there. Just last weekend, I reserved a compact like Yaris, but ended up with a brand spankin' new Santa Fe! Woohoo!! The more you go there, the employees, especially Henry (awesome dude, BTW) asks what your needs are for the weekend and takes care of you. I can't say enough about the employees there. Each and every one of them has been super friendly almost to the point that you're leaving the place asking yourself, "am I really in NYC?". On top of that, you can easily achieve elite status by renting 6 or more times a year (you get nothing from Zipcar for renting often) which gets you more free perks like free rentals, extra points and confirmed upgrades. So long story short, screw Zipcar. Go Enterprise! read more

Enterprise is still renting out cars from this location knowing that it's been closed since March. I made my reservation on June 19th and just received a call today, on June 30th that I'd have to pick up my car at a different location that ends up screwing up my plans. I have 2 kids and picked a location I could walk to, now they want me to get a cab and drive 20 minutes away to pick up the car, drive back to get my family and besides losing all that time, they're refusing to even pay for the cab ride. They did this on purpose to leave me with almost now time to change my plans. They know that the location is closed but are still advertising it and taking reservations just to lock people in and only telling them with last minute notice. read more

I used to love this location. Polite employees, good service, and close proximity. I rented cars from them about a dozen times a year. Always a pleasant experience. However, it changed recently. I just discovered they charged me for 5 gallons of refueling on the Dodge Challenger I rented-5 gallons, that's 100 miles! And I always fuel up the cars in Jersey , every time, like clockwork. So I called the office, and they immediately put me on hold after I stated the issue. After holding for 20 mins, I called with a different phone. They picked up in 5 mins, and then immediately put it on hold again .... Been a hour now and this is BS. I am going call my credit card and dispute the charge that way but what the fck Enterprise. You only have a few more years life span before self driving cars take over. And your only defense would be loyal customers. Way to fck it all up. Can't wait to watch you crash and burn. read more

I always get greeted by my name, the manager Nahila runs this location as is it is her own business which I truly admire always going over and beyond for customers. This is the very worst experience I have had with a rental company. Absolutely terrible! This place does not even deserve one star. First when I went to the location the RAV4 I received was stink, dirty, the maintenance required note popped up in the dash board and the charging port for the USB was not working. I exchanged the vehicle finally on day #5. An associate took the vehicle and 30 minutes passed since I dropped the vehicle off. An associate called me to tell me there is a Crack on the driver side of the windshield. No one made that observation while I was present. There was no Crack on the driver side of that vehicle when I returned it. The representative stated that as soon as he entered the vehicle he saw it but this was not seen by the representative I handed the vehicle to and she drove it to park in the back. Horrible! This Enterprise refuses to honor Governor Cuomo's Executive Order extending New York State driver's license for a year passed its expiration. When asked about the aforementioned order, the person on the phone stated that one can get a temporary license online. When told that is not true if one wears glasses, he nonchalantly said that they cannot rent a car then. Someone from this location called me at 5pm on Friday 9/10 to cancel my rental the NIGHT BEFORE I was due to pick it up. Gave no prior warning that cars would be limited due to flooding over a week ago. Told me "we are all in this together, and other people lost their cars and homes." I do not remember requesting a flood for the 5 boroughs, and considering I am a cancer survivor, I am not sure why I qualify to have my rental cancelled. Hopefully, the replacement car I found at a competitor last minute will actually be there tomorrow and not smell like weed, as Enterprise-Forest Hills' cars often do. Things to know if you rent from Forest Hills - The garage they're in has no pedestrian entrance so you have to walk in and out on the car ramp. A little dangerous. Never return a car on Monday morning and expect to get to work on time. They're super slammed at that time. The staff here is friendly, genuine and polite. The rentals are in good condition. Update on there "customer service and conflict resolution", a manager did escalate my issue to someone higher up. when i explained to them that i don't smoke and had air freshener in the car because i went grocery shopping and bought fresh fish , she proceeded to tell me that the reason why i was charged was because the smell of a fresh fish was so bad that they had to get is professionally cleaned, which seems like bs, because they first said it smelled like cigarettes. cigarettes and fish have 2 totally different smells. i feel like instead of admitting that because they seem air freshener and assumed i was smoking since i'm a young driver; they had to come up with some excuse to try to make them seem right. i probably could've told them i farted and they would've tried to said i pooped in my pants! i am pescatarian, i like my fish from the market with the head still on it; it smells, but it's nothing a car wash or just rolling the windows down couldn't fix! there is no possible way the smell of salmon and bass could've possible rendered a $200 cleaning fee, especially since i had it in a styrofoam cooler! switched to zipcar to do my biweekly fish shopping, NEVER had a complaint about the smell, and i've definitely left air freshener in a zip car a few times! read more

I have been speaking with ROBERT- "Rob"- The entire time. Though very friendly at first, was very hard to understand and far too many details were given that didn't help me. He would not email me a quote, So I wrote everything down. When comparing rates to other companies, I Used the quotes he gave me. Which ended up being HALF of the actual price. He wouldn't honor his first price, so i asked for the proper quote, IN AN EMAIL TO CONFIRM. After hours of waiting for it, i called asking what happened- and he informed me that he decided not to email me because i already wasn't happy with the miscommunication, and felt that anything we would quote wouldn't be satisfactory. What the Fuck business style is this? Im ready to give thousands of dollars for a rental, and he simply chooses for the company, not to take my money? I had to beg him to consider still """Allowing""" me to book the pick up truck ---- Only to find out, he had none. I had had enough of him at that point. Out. Of. Control. Yes they are extremely friendly but it's all BS. While the girl was chatting away and being super friendly she added the Roadside assistance, which I did not sign for and only wanted the gas option. When I returned the car and they told me the price and I was shocked. They wanted to charge me for a full tank while the car still had over half a tank. They didn't even bother to check. It took two of them to figure out how much the gas was and after them taking so long I had to leave. They did get the charge for the gas right but when I left looking at the bill later on I noticed the extra road side charge. I called and they said they would credit it back. It's going to be close to 3 weeks and after calling a few times and asking for the number of their corp office they say the credit is done. I am still waiting and may have to dispute the amount after calling my card. Don't let the smiles and excessive small talk fool you and if you must rent here be prepared to read your bill over a few times. The price you book online is not the price they let you walk out with. This is especially dissapointing when I had rented from them 3 times and had two more reservations which are now canceled within a 2 month span.
