If you plan to rent a car, please be very careful when choosing a rental company. I don't recommend Enterprise. When you go to pick up the car, everyone there is very friendly and welcoming. But when you return the car, they will inspect every corner of the vehicle extremely carefully. If they find any damage or scratches, they'll claim that you caused them. If you can't provide proof, you'll have to pay for it. So, if you have other rental options, I don't suggest choosing Enterprise. But if you have no other choice, make sure to take photos of the entire car--front, back, and sides--before you drive off. Also take pictures of the interior and the mileage. When returning the car, do the same--take photos or videos as evidence. read more

I came by way of enterprise shuttle from repair shop. I had a good experience but then again I'm pretty patient and I know things don't go according to plan. When we got dropped off there was 3 in waiting room already and 2 in front of me from repair shop. Dropped off before 10 am and it took longer to get checked in than it did to get my vehicle. That's because they had lot going on and honestly I wasn't in a hurry as most seemed to be. They had it in computer to give me something comparable to what was in shop. They gave me a Yukon! I've rented from Enterprise in Jacksonville, NC multiple times in the past, spending several hundred dollars over the years. Unfortunately, this last experience was so frustrating and unprofessional that I'll never return--and I feel obligated to warn others. After being bounced between the N. Marine Blvd. and Western Blvd. locations for over two hours, I still wasn't given a vehicle. The worst part? The assistant manager at the Western Blvd. location, Albert A. Vargas Rodriguez, made the situation dramatically worse. Instead of de-escalating an understandably frustrating situation, his rude and dismissive attitude provoked further conflict. I was denied a rental simply because I expressed frustration--calmly at first, but increasingly upset after hours of wasted time and zero accountability. This is not the level of professionalism you expect from a company like Enterprise. I've contacted their corporate office to report this, and as of now, I've received no response. Clearly, customer satisfaction and accountability are not a priority. If this is how they treat loyal customers, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for your rental needs. read more

Make sure you take photo's or videos before you leave the lot with the car or truck. I returned one a month ago in the exact condition that I rented it and today got an email claiming there were mutiple scratches, dents and chipped glass. I had the damage waiver and told the claims rep that I did no damage to the car and do not bother me again. read more

WARNING: Enterprise will advertise Pick-up trucks with tow hitches for rent, but when you go to actually get the pick-up truck they will tell you they don't allow thier pick up trucks to be used for towing. Went on the Enterprise website on Monday 6/27/22 and they specifically advertise 1/4 ton trucks with tow hitches available for rent. Then called the customer service number to confirm said truck was available at the 209 Western Blvd location and customer service rep confirmed. Made the reservation same day for pick up on 7/2/22. Received an email confimration. No where on that confirmation does or mention towing is not permitted. Rode my bicycle to pick up pick up truck on 7/2/22. It was then that I was told they don't allow their pick up trucks to be used for towing for "liability reasons". Asked why they advertise trucks with tow hitches if they don't permit towing, and response was "sometimes Marines use that hitch for a luggage rack". Manager essentually useless in resolving the issue but did offer me a ride home. I declined the ride but thought it was nice of him to offer. Typical corporate disconnect situation where Enterprise corporate says one thing and local Enterprise says another. I called Enterprise customer service and explained the situatuon, the rep was eqully useless but I did ask her to please communicate my experience to Enterprise bureaucrats in the sky in the hopes that someone might take the simple initiative to update their website and reservation confirmation language to infrom customers that the advertised tow hitch is actually not to be used for towing. Perhaps this simple fix this will prevent a ruined weekend for the next unsupecting customer. read more

2 minutes agoNEW This particular location has canceled my reservation quite a few times over the last couple of years when in dire need. Most recently on Thursday when my personally-owned vehicle broke down the day before. I scheduled for a pickup and they had the 1-800 number call me to let me know they had no vehicles until after 4 p.m. and would call me to let me know what they had. No one ever called leaving me without a vehicle for 4 days. I spent more on Uber and Lyft then it would have cost me to rent a vehicle but gladly gave my business to those drivers because they have better principles than this company. read more

Their website showed a suburban available so I booked it online, only to be told that it was not available after I received my confirmation of the reservation via email. -2 stars The service was very slow with only one motivated employee at the front desk running the show. When the rest of the staff finally arrived one of them was instructed to go fuel up my rental to full (I pre/paid for fuel and the agent helping me told me I would have a full tank). When he returned it was only fueled to a 1/4 tank. I was the one that caught that and went back inside to address this. Set up a rental to be picked up at 8. Got there at 8 and didn't get my rental until 10:30. I waited 2 and a half hours for them to get the car ready. And I wasn't the only one that day with that same issue. The lady next to me had a fit with them rightfully so for the same reason. They didn't have the sedan I requested and tried to sucker me up saying they upgraded me to a smaller truck for the wait when In reality it was just because they didn't have anymore cars. Then I was told I would get a $200 hold on my card but would receive it back once i returned the car and the payment went through on my account. I can't say enough about how grateful I am with both the service and professionalism I received. I had a reservation on-base for a car and they called me at 07:15am saying they didn't have any 15minutes after I dropped my vehicle off for maintenance stranding myself and my one year. Thankfully my emergency became their challenge, and we was picked within the hour, in addition to Clayton helping me juggle my one year, her car seat and stroller getting us situated and on the road so I didn't miss my 7yr olds field trip. See as a Marine I've missed more events than I can count, and this particular day was super important to her. They made it possible for me to show up when the engine light popped on, and I wasn't sure I'd be able to make it. The simple act of Kindness made the seemingly stressful moments manageable. I'm not one to normally complain about businesses because I realize that things happen, but I also understand customer service. I received a call to confirm my pick up about 48 hours prior. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle I was told that they have a 30 minute hold policy beyond the time that I'd entered on the website. After that they're allowed to give the vehicle away to another customer. That would have been great information to either have listed on their website or stated when they called to confirm. When I questioned it while in the office, the two women working there were snotty and acted as if my questions were annoying them to no end. I've used Enterprise before and after this incident but rest assured I will never use this location again. read more

So I get the auto shop to drop me off and I arrive for the location that there was no vehicles available. (At least that's what Kelsey told me). She arranged for me to. E taken else where but was real reserve about wanting to contact another location. Once I asked for the third time for her to contact another location another Gentalnen walked up to the counter and they told him that they had an SUV available! So she lied to me! Makes me never want to trust these people! So know I'm getting a ryde to another location and have to pay an upgrade fee because they don't have the class I reserved. After making reservations over the phone with Enterprise, and they charged my card, we show up to this joke of a business, and they tell us there's no cars here available for us. I work at an auto repair shop. We recently had enterprise stop by and offer special rates for our customers. Just in time too. I have a customer from the Raleigh area who had transmission warranty company send us his vehicle for repair. When it came time to pick up, Enterprise was able to drop him off his rental at his house and he was able to drive to Enterprise in Jacksonville and they drove him to his vehicle that we repaired. All went smooth and very great rate! No doubt it's better than riding in a taxi. read more

So I reserved a vehicle through the website from May 26 (Friday, 1700) to May 28 (Sunday, 1700). I arrived about 45 minutes early just in case there was a line due to the Memorial Day weekend. Luckily, I only waited for a short time. When the guy at the counter was checking my reservation, he tells me that they're closed on Sunday so that I won't be able to drop it off and he asked if I would like to just keep it until Tuesday. I tell him no and that I'll just keep it for one day instead. He then continues to try to convince me to just keep it until Tuesday when they open back up. Well, why would I keep it until then unless I won't have to pay for the extra days. It's not my fault that the website allowed me to reserve until Sunday when they're closed. He then says well let me see what I can do and continues to play on the computer. He then clears me to drop it off on Sunday. So, I ask him, well... where am I going to drop off the vehicle?? He tells me that there's an Enterprise down the road that I can drop it off and just left it at that. He then walks me to the vehicle and casually mentions that "oh hey, this vehicle has satellite radio, want me to turn it on?" And I say, sure why not. Which I later realize that I'm charged for it. He never explained that to me. He only casually brought it up as if it was already part of the package. Sunday comes and I call this other Enterprise (since the guy never gave me much information, I did my own research) and spoke to a gentleman on the phone. I explained him my situation and asked if I could drop the vehicle off at their store. He says yes but they close at 1700 so I can just put the keys in the drop box. Upon further questioning, he also explains that I can also do the same thing at the Enterprise I picked my vehicle up from. All in all, what I got from this experience is that your employee is a liar. He told me I couldn't drop it off on Sunday and tried to convince me to just keep it until Tuesday (basically trying to play me out of my money)...and since he's already lied, he continues to lie and tell me I'd have to drop it off at another store. I only had to rent from enterprise because they were the only place in town that was open during covid, I needed a car because I was t-boned and my car was totaled out. It took three days to finally get a car and that's only because I called every few hours to check on the status, on my last call a girl explained she had one vehicle available but I needed to hurry before someone else took it.. This was already a bad sign that I could potentially be getting a ride to go 30 minutes away and not get a car. When I got there, the car was ready for me and the nice gentlemen walked around the car and had to take it to get re-cleaned as the trunk was full of cereal. I opted in for the insurance for the first three days and the worker said I can cancel it when enterprise calls me to extend the vehicle through insurance, which I did when they called to let me know how long I had it for again, I was told no problem it would be removed. A couple days later my account was hit for the insurance which put my account into the negatives as that account only ever has $50 at a time since it is not a local bank, I was charged an overdraft fee which I took and bit my tongue thinking it was a sign that I needed the insurance. A couple days later the vehicle gets extended again by insurance and I get the call and the same situation occurs again but this time I was prepared and moved money into that account. I turned the vehicle in on May 22, 2020 and was told by the guy who took the vehicle everything was good to go and I would get my deposit back, my dad also double checked with the guy and was once again told deposit was good. Fast forward to this week and I've called this place several times at different times with no answer. I finally get through today and a guy gets on the phone and starts telling me I didn't return the vehicle until the 27th which is impossible as I have time stamped photos of me in GA, he then says he is going to get someone else, I wait on the phone again for one of the assistant managers who then tries explaining to me that the guy never said the 27th as if he would even have a clue what the conversation was.. He explains that Geico lagged on payments and they used the $50 deposit for that and insurance, I explained the insurance thing and he says to remove insurance you have to come in to check the vehicle which I was never told and wasn't even the issue I was calling about. He then says that Geico lagged on their payments so they used the $50 to cover the car and the insurance which makes no sense at all. If I had the car for 17 days and insurance is $12.99 a day plus tax is $236.29, I had made payments of $57.68, $79.77, and $57.67 which would be $41.17 needing to be paid and that would leave $8.83 left of the deposit. Which I have no clue why they would charge me for some insurance and not all of it like they had and I was never told it would come from a deposit. Whatever the case is, I am owed $8.83 at this point if the deposit was used. It is not my fault Geico took forever to pay out, I wouldn't have needed a car if someone would have yielded and now I am made to pay because enterprise didn't go after Geico. I have heard a lot of negative things about enterprise in this town but it was my only option, now I understand everyone. Also don't tell someone they get their deposit back if gas is returned back at the same level and car is not damaged, if you are going to use it for other things. read more

My husband's truck had to go in for repairs for a vehicle accident which our insurance was covering rental, only things available were over the 30 dollar max insurance by 6 dollars... Of course we agree to pay the difference until they have a replacement... I paid 31 dollars and when my husband went in to exchange they of course didn't have what they thought would be available... So they said they would comp the price to the 30 dollars my husband was ok with that... Until I look at my bank the very same day and they had charged my card another 52 dollars! When we went to do the exchange today at 530pm the woman was very rude and kept rolling her eyes... Stating that there's a 4 dollar a day charge for taxes assure from the 6 dollars. Normally this would be charged to the insurance company I told them that were were only paying the cost diffence, the insurance company was paying the taxes... They woman at the desk was rude and argued with me about the extra charges, she even put her hand in my face when I asked for her name and manager.... I will never use enterprise and will make note of this behavior to the insurance company as well. Do not use this particular location. The one further down is so much friendlier and can handle stressful situations much more professionally and efficiently. read more

Horrible!!! First make sure you provide them with your credit card and NOT a bank card.... I have had over $200 taken out of my account in two days "due to a mistake". I have yet to get my money back nor I have spoken with a manager. Was told first time she busy... Called back twice and got hung up on and the third time I was told she wasn't available to speak to me. Nobody can reverse the charges except for her but yet I can't get her on the phone. The one reason I haven't returned the car and told them where to shove it is because progressive is providing me with my rental. I have no choice who I rent through. NEVER again will I get a car through enterprise ESP not this branch! Update: was able to get only a fraction of my money back... But instead on crediting my account they took out more money! I had absolutely no problem reserving my car online. They picked me up on time. They didn't have the sub - compact car I ordered, but gave me a mid-sized at no extra charge. And my hundred dollar deposit was in my bank the next day. My experience with them was definitely 5 star service and will bring my business to them again. I was running late for my appointment and called to let them know and was told that was no problem. They made sure I had a ride to them and had everything that I needed to get the vehicle. My car broke down around 10pm and we had to get it towed to the dealership that night. The next morning my husband called enterprise to get a rental for me so I can have a car while he is away for a few days. He called and told them he was coming. It was 11:30am and he arrived at noon. They said they were closing and refused to help him. I am pregnant and am due anytime and have a toddler. I don't think that we will use them again.
