This usually saves us some money, avoiding the airport extra fees. The extra $ is not worth it at all. I have had the unfortunate experience of having the same agent most of the times I pick up my car. He is arrogant, doesn't listen or respond and is all around apathetic. On our most recent trip our, car was not there on time and his response was less than apologetic or helpful. As I said, his general demeanor is rude and quite frankly doesn't give a care. He said to run errands and come back. That was his response. FYI - I'm there to pick up a car, mort. Sorry your life is so miserable that you really don't enjoy your job. Absolutely never ever again.

The other good news is that the people behind the counters seem fairly sharp and on the ball. (I've been to other Discount outlets in the past that I suspect were more into providing employment opportunities for mentally challenged individuals than they were into renting cars to customers.) The bad news is that Discount is congenitally unable to provide cars to customers in a reasonable time. It ... just ... takes ... FOREVER to go through the simple process of handing over your license and credit card, signing some forms, and getting a car. And when you're in a lineup behind 4 other customers, each of whom takes inordinately long to be processed, you just wait and wait and WAIT. Ugh. I've had similarly awful service at other Discount outlets. I don't think it's this location. Bottom line, somebody at Discount HQ needs to Google "business process reengineering" and find a faster way to go from "here's my license and credit card" to "here are the car keys". Their competition can do it ... why can't Discount?

We got a car from the branch of Boul Taschereau, when we were getting the car, no one said watch…read moreout for the key and don't leave it in the car when the engine is on, so my wife start the engine but she had forgotten something to pick up to get that, she left the car when the engin was running, (for a few minutes) when she back she saw the doors are locked! Right away she called me from my work I didn't know how I'm driving on the snow, I got to the branch to ask for the spare key but they said, no! You have to take a raod assistant and pay for it! We were waiting until the truck of CAA came so after 1 hour and half, we were home, this is so easy,If they had warned us, this wouldn't have happened. the worst is they told me we have to pay for the raod assistant!

I've had my share of issues with Hertz but this past rental was surprisingly good…read more I made the reservation online and the agent was ready for me when I arrived. I got an upgrade for a reasonable discount but the system was down so the agent said he would correct the rate after. The fuel level was also typed as in 8/8 instead of the actual 4/8 and there was quite the hold on my credit card. Both these things were noted on the carbon copy I was given so I wasn't too worried despite my previous horrible experiences. When I returned the Jeep a week later, the same agent was there, he corrected the fuel level and the upgrade rate. The whole return process took less than 10 minutes (I've spent over an hour returning a Hertz vehicle before at Salt Lake City). The process was smooth and everything promised was delivered. It's good to note that regardless of whatever circumstances, make sure the fuel level is noted correctly (hand written is fine) and if the rate is different, make sure it's noted and signed by the agent in case of disputes.

The gentleman behind the counter seemed to know nothing about how the system worked. He kept calling his boss for help. I don't blame him, but the system. Unfortunately i was unable to rent a car, as i don't have a credit card. Again nothing mentioned on the website about needing a CC. I was a waste of my time. I also had to call customer service, which seems impossible to get a correct number for my money back. Not a place i will be going back to . Cassandra
