I wish I could give Enterprise in Olive Branch, MS an F rating. Their customer service was absolutely terrible. I reserved a large SUV online 2-3 weeks before my vacation. Five days before pickup, I personally went into the office and explained to the manager how important it was that I have a large SUV for my trip. He looked me in the eye and assured me that if I arrived when they opened at 7:30 a.m., my vehicle would be there waiting for me. That promise turned out to be completely false. When I arrived, not only was my SUV unavailable, they didn't even have a replacement vehicle for me. Worse yet, they made no real effort to locate one from another Enterprise location. Instead, they simply handed me the 1-800 number and told me to call myself. To make matters worse, they said a district manager would contact me. It's now been over 2 1/2 hours, and I still haven't received a phone call. Thankfully, I went to Alamo and received excellent customer service. They took care of me immediately and got me on the road. If you're depending on Enterprise in Olive Branch for an important trip, think twice. Based on my previous review, was asked to contact them via email. I did so, and got no response. Seems to me that the first impression, not following through on their commitments is consistent and persistent. I strongly recommend NOT using this location unless you enjoy wasting your time. read more

I had a reservation confirmation for a car for 5/ 9 at 10am. I received a call at 8:30am that there were no cars available as the manager had transferred all cars to the airport. I was not offered help in finding a car -- just told to call around for a car. Really terrible service! read more

The guys that work in this store are always rude and dismissive. Absolutely horrible customer service. We've been told there would be a van there and it wasn't. Now I have to drive all the way to the airport when I want to rent a car from enterprise of fear they wouldn't have our car at the Poplar store. The people at enterprise at the airport in Memphis are so nice and accommodating. You would think they would do something about the people that work at the one on 5131 Poplar Ave. Also, that if you rent a car it should be there when you go to pick it up. My car was in an accident. My insurance cover everything. I have been so please will the smooth process. I have been dealing with enterprise for years. I am a very happy customer. The international Airport was wonderful and the enterprise on Brooks Road was extraordinary. Andrew Brown was professional and polite. How he look after my concerns and well being was beautiful. The desk clerk was very nice. We both got off on a rocky start, but we met each other in the middle. We found a common ground. He was super good. He know is job extremely well. I don't know his name. I'm going say his name starts with a V. We are all human and let's be patient with each other. I love Enterprise. read more

I would have given a zero if the option was available. I booked a premium SUV to move across the country. I made the reservation over a week in advance, and 24 hours before I was to pick it up they called to tell me they didn't have my vehicle. The only solution was to offer a smaller car which will not work. I would have reserved a smaller car if that would have met my needs. They offered not discount for the inconvenience, no "we've checked all over to see if we can get it to you", nothing. Pretty much a "it's not here and we don't care". I'll never use Enterprise again as this is not the first time they have screwed me out of a reservation; the last time it was at the time of pick up. read more

I use a Enterprise on the regular, and while this is not the closest one to me, it may just become the one I use regularly. Of all the Enterprise locations in Memphis, this is the most consistent in terms of service, accurate vehicle availability in accordance with what is booked, and speed. Even though they are typically understaffed, just as all of the Memphis locations seem to be, the employees here are constantly working and moving, all with courtesy and kindness. This latter part is unlike most other locations in Memphis, which might do some good modeling their operations off of this spot. I don't usually have to use the pick up/drop off service either, but big shout out to the manager who also took care of this in the midst of being understaffed and pressed for time and people. read more

I had a wonderful experience with Viree at the location on poplar in Memphis, TN. He truly went above and beyond to assist me. Thanks to his hard work, kindness, and dedication, I was able to get the vehicle I needed and was able to successfully make it to Nashville for my friend's rehearsal dinner (same day I picked up rental) & then the wedding the next day. Overwhelming gratitude! Thank you, Viree! I do think it is helpful/important for people to know that this location (5131 poplar Ave) is a drop off location. Which means they only have cars for reservations if people have dropped cars off there. read more

I had a bad experience with the first car they gave me, but I spoke with Joe here and he took care of me and gave me something reliable.

This location is AWFUL, they are terrible at communicating what's going on on their end. They dropped the ball with me twice, and wouldn't do anything to help the situation. I was supposed to have a car 5 days ago and they kept saying no sedans are available and that I apparently have appointments that no one even talked to me about, or even emailed me about, not even a voicemail or anything. They expect you to have telepathy I guess. I used to think very highly of Enterprise and recommend them to everyone but the experience I had here was so exceedingly frustrating that it completely changed my mind about Enterprise. I was on hold on the phone for a total of 2 and a half hours and then it disconnected. I had to call a whole different store just to find out about the 9:30am appointment for today that I apparently made. And then I tried calling over and over and over again at this location, when I finally got ahold of someone there she basically said I was making everything up like yeah this is really how I want to spend hours out of my day doing. horrible horrible horrible service. If your looking for amazing customer service, and just being treated like they care, don't come here! I've rented cars across this country from many many locations and rental agencies. THEY DON'T CARE! They don't care if you HAVE a major credit card or you ARE a club member with ALL your details on file! You will be treated like some local, irresponsible vagrant! You WILL be hit with the deposit!!! So... I had a MAJOR nationwide recognized credit card AND am an Emerald Club member for more than 1 day, but they, the girl up front DIDN'T CARE!!! So I asked for the policy and was given the picture attached! I'm sorry, none of what was shared applied! What a horrible experience, I will say I felt extremely discriminated against! I don't speak that lightly, but beware! Enterprise! You've done me right in SO many other locations! But they failed here! Oh! The car! Stains on the cloth seats front and back seats! GROSS I prefer to write glowing reviews, but there's no way this wasn't going to be written! Am I upset at my treatment? You bet! Do I need to be treated like a king or Queen? Hell No! But don't treat me like I'm some bum off the street. I can only hope that karma finds her! I'm So disappointed! Had the car scheduled for a week! I use this location based on convenience and proximity to my home. I was friends with someone who used to work here so I wanted to support them in their work and it made it easier to navigate. The prices are great and I tend to not have many issues. The last two times, however, I did have issues. Two times ago I rented a compact car to take a short business road trip. I showed up at 8am to pick it up and all they had was a pickup truck, probably the furthest thing from a compact car. Last time I rented I needed to leave at 3am for a long road trip. I called at 5pm to see if I could pick up the car earlier than my 5:30 pm reservation. They said that they actually didn't have any cars available. I'm not sure when they planned on letting me know, but if I didn't call them then I would have been out of luck for a car. The person on the phone wasn't willing to call around for me. She tried, but her advice was to just wait and see and hope for the best. Very frustrating. I had to call to find out for myself. I'm hoping that service will get better in the future. I will use them again because they have been helpful in the past. I may be better off going with a different enterprise location or renting at the airport. read more

Came to Memphis this summer and had a fantastic customer service experience at this location but totally forgot to yelp about it. I wasn't able to be there for the pickup of the car but the wifey said that David was very professional in his handling of our reservation and very polite. I was there for the return of the vehicle and experienced the same thing from him. The other gentleman in the office (forgot his name) had nothing to do with our reservation but even engaged us in conversation while we were waiting for something when he clearly didn't need to. This showed a very competent understanding of great customer service and a well managed location. I have also experienced the "no available vehicles" at multiple rental companies and have just realized that is part of renting a vehicle.... It's like flying... Sometime your flight may be delayed hours, welcome to travel. I highly recommend this location and will use it anytime I come to Memphis read more

PLEASE AVOID THIS LOCATION OF ENTERPRISE!! I have seen bad service but this is whole new level. I was assigned a car by my insurance company and I chose them because they were close to my place, talk about bad decision. I had to go there 3 times just to get a right car that was supposed to be booked for me. They gave me all sort of cars, Van, hatchback, just not the category of car that I can keep till my repairs are done. I've had only excellent service at this east side location of Enterprise. The staff is friendly, helpful and flexible. Kathy was especially helpful to me on many occasions. Unfortunately after recent experiences, a change in this rating and review is necessary. The branch is a very busy one, understandably so due to the location near so many large businesses in Memphis. This does not excuse their inability to fulfill reservations that have previously been confirmed. They've been late fulfilling registrations multiple times and on occasion have been completely unable to find me a vehicle. In addition, they have rented me multiple vehicles claiming they had a full tank, when in reality there was about a quarter tank of gas already missing. I've also received rentals with service lights on multiple times from this branch. The friendliness of the employees is not what it was in the past either. I understand high turnover is expected in the industry, but the level of service shouldn't be effected but that. A management change has occurred in the recent past and it's clearly reflected in the branch's operation. read more

Absolute worst service ever. Had a reservation and then there were no cars when I came in to pick up. The people at the front desk could care less. Promised me if I came back at 4 there would be something, so I did come back and still there were no cars. Again they couldn't care at all. It was 5 days before they had a car. Did not honor a confirmed reservation - changed it to "tentative" at last minute. This meant they did not have a car. Brainless woman who could not speak proper English called to advise just as I was leaving to pick up the car. The airport location and Enterprise Plus customer service were equally useless. Had a great experience with Enterprise Rent-A Car 4759 poplar location. After a reservation gone bad experience at the Budget rental place down the street, David at Enterprise matched the Budget quoted price and even gave us a free upgrade. The rental was for my daughter's same day honeymoon trip and David really saved the day! I highly recommend this location and won't go anywhere else from here out. Thanks, David :) read more

I had a family emergency and needed to rent a car to go out of town for a few days. Unfortunately, this was the week of Spring Break and most rental car locations did not have any vehicles available. I was pleasantly surprised when I was told this location DID have cars available. I stressed that I needed to pick the car up that SAME DAY and was asked what time I would like to pick it up. I received a confirmation email and assumed that everything was fine. However, when I arrived at this location, I was told that they "tried" to call me and tell me that they did not do same day pickup. Funny thing is, I did not have any missed calls. So did you call or not? How do you "try" to call someone? I understand that my family emergency and needing to rent a car may not be a priority to you, that's fine. But a simple phone call would have saved me from wasting my time, gas, and energy. That's basic customer service if you ask me. read more

I reserved a car at 2948 Poplar 7/15/15 for 5 days. I realize that that location was different from the 4759 Poplar location but only one location is listed here on Yelp. My reservation was for 9 a.m. When I arrived, I gave my name and reservation # and the Enterprise nicely dressed young man looked at me and said he found my reservation, but 'he had no cars'. Nothing smaller or larger. I had reserved a mid-size. He said that the location didn't have cars returned the day before as they had expected. I asked what he expected me to do, and he said I could wait there or he would call me. I couldn't believe it! Around 2 pm I called back and still no car. I then called an area manager in a rage. Could they have emailed me? Could they have called me? No, they let me just show up and be surprised. Finally, I was given a car around 3 pm. and he gave me a discount on my rental (after I insisted) and the discount was written on my invoice. When I returned the car on the 5th day, I had another young man help me with the return. He told me the amount I owed (which was off by 50%!) and I told him I disagreed. He insisted he was right! Another employee heard us and came over to help. After much typing on his computer, he finally agreed that he had given me the wrong amount due and my figure was correct.
