Their customer service is always top notch and my recent experience with them was no different. Milwaukee downtown location has after hours parking on 3rd and Wells street. It is on the first floor, after entering into the garage, on the left near the parking office. They have reserved spots for Enterprise. The drop box for keys is near the exit. Their website says that there is no after hours drop off for this location. It is better to confirm with the staff at the time of checkout itself to make sure that the vehicle could be returned after hours. read more

will say one thing while setting up contract but the contract will say otherwise. same goes for any questions answered over the phone as they will say whatever to get you off the phone quickly regardless if it's true or false in order to say they've "helped" more people. I would suggest avoiding this Enterprise location if possible. The street parking is extremely limited, and there is no parking lot so picking up and dropping off is difficult. After driving around the nearby streets for a good ten minutes, I ended up dropping my significant other off and parking in a loading zone with my flashers on. I was then told I needed to come in to pick up the vehicle, as I was the one who reserved it. The customer service was so-so, as we stood waiting for quite a while, and there was only one other customer in the lobby at the time. The location just had a feel of being disorganized compared to other enterprise locations we've visited. The vehicle we picked up had a fairly large dent already in it, which while I'm not choosing a vehicle based on looks, it would be nice to know they maintained and repaired the vehicles. It sufficed to rent a car downtown, but I would choose another location if you can. The parking situation (or lack thereof) alone made our experience unpleasant and stressful. read more

Yesterday was the second consecutive time that I have rented a car from this location that has smelled bad so I am very unlikely to ever rent here again, even though the location is convenient for me to walk over to from work and grab a car when I need to travel for a meeting. Staff is always very pleasant and professional, but regularly seems frantic and harried. The process for picking up the rental--even with a reservation--seems to take far longer than it needs to. My car was not where it was supposed to be and the entire process approached a half-hour, which is far too long. Agents carry around tablets that I presume are to make the process more efficient, but don't seem to add a whole lot besides the reduction of paper, which I do appreciate. This time around the car reeked of marijuana and there was trash in the back seat, both of which were very disappointing. I called to report this right away and the woman on the phone was very apologetic and said that I could bring it back to get another car, but given how long the check-in process took, I wasn't interested in repeating that. It would have been nice if they had offered to bring me a car, but it is what it is. At check-in, the manager was again very apologetic and wanted to offer me all kinds of discounts and incentives on another vehicle, but I rent for work so the reduction in cost was not relevant to me, but I gave them one star back for effort. read more

This place is conveniently located by Milwaukee's train station which was why I chose Enterprise. The bad thing about the location was there is hardly any parking - not even that one private lot two doors down. There's always busy traffic on Wisconsin Avenue so you really have to know where to park in front of Enterprise. I also don't like how they are not open late, like a lot of the other car rental services around the country. Get with the times, people. The reason I bring that factor up is because I traveled to Milwaukee through Amtrak, and my train was to arrive at the station at 4:30. The train was terribly late (no need to get into this mighty long story...) and I didn't arrive in Milwaukee until 10pm. Otherwise, I could have saved $50 on Uber. I'm befuddled. Confounded. Perplexed. How in the holy heck do I review Enterprise after my experience with them? I don't even know where to begin. It's all so confusing, really... I could draft a long, rambling diatribe for you all... or I could break it down in a timeline. Timeline = more succinct, possibly more informative, will take less of your time to understand my absolute befuddlement re: how to rate Enterprise. Friday: My car gets towed into shop. I have another car, but it's about two minutes from falling apart. Will not drive said other car on the highway. Am content over the weekend to not go further than is necessary. Wednesday: Need to rent car, as I have an important appointment in Cedarburg/dinner in 'stallis to attend. Calls Enterprise 9am, on point. Asks to rent car. I'm assured it's not a problem, and that I'll have the car by 1pm. Wednesday, 12:30pm: Enterprise calls. Apparently, there are no cars. (WHAT.) So... "do you really need the car today?" asks the guy on the other end of the line. Um, yes? Yes I do? And also, guy, why do you sound stoned out of your mind? And like you couldn't care less about ANYTHING IN THE WORLD? "Yes," I reply. I need the car, and I have an important appointment at 4pm. I need the car by 3pm. "Okay," replies guy with no tone, feeling, or discernible human emotion. Hangs up. Um? Wednesday, 2:30pm: Enterprise calls. This time, it's not him, it's a girl. "I'm outside, and ready whenever you are." Okay. Awesome. ::rushes to get things and runs outside:: Gets car, goes to appointment, goes to dinner. Painless. Thursday: Meetings and stuff. Should have the car back by 3pm. My car is not yet fixed. Calls Enterprise. "Can I keep the car an extra day?" I ask. Emotionless, completely flat dude on the other line: "Sure," and hangs up. Um? Okay. (keeps car) Friday: My car is not yet finished. The rental is due back by three. I'm a cognizant person, and I don't want to inconvenience Enterprise or get charged for an extra day. I call and explain, IN DETAIL, my situation. "Just whatever. You can just bring it back whenever." WHO IS THIS GUY? Is he high? Is he Nihilist? Hasn't he any modecom of understanding of basic communication? Sighs. Takes car back, gets own car, leaves rental at Abra (repair shop). Still haven't heard anything from Enterprise. It's now Tuesday. Two stars for seriously lackluster communication and customer-service, despite their flexibility in accommodating my needs. I was teetering on three, but man. That guy. Man. Dude. I spoke on the phone with someone from Enterprise three different timed and each time I had to say "no, you guys are picking me up at the body shop" because they kept assuming I would meet them downtown. Then my 3:00 pickup time rolls around and no one shows up. They call at 3:15 and ask if I am ON MY WAY to the body shop....so I say "yes, I've been here and someone was supposed to be here at 3" (with some attitude) she responds and said "ok ok someone is en route". Very easy car rental experience, and very good prices. I travel home to Michigan quite a bit and renting a car ends up being much less expensive than taking the train or flying. The ladies and gentlemen that work here are always super kind and after the second time of renting a vehicle they already remembered my face and what I was renting a car for. Would definitely recommend! I am knocking a star off since both times I rented, the cars had a soft but distinct smell of cigarette smoke. All the employees at this location do not treat customers fairly. I walked in and was acknowledged by one employee. They were busy, so, I was told to wait until they return. No problem! The Enterprise office, at 310 W Wisconsin Ave is a complete joke, and utter disgrace the corporation, they gave me a rental car with damage on the door that was covered by a inch of salt and road debris. They claimed they also detailed the inside of the vehicle, which was so disgusting and sticky that it looks like it never saw soap. I was given a voucher to have the exterior washed because they claimed their car was frozen due to the weather. I went the next day and had the vehicle washed, and discovered the damage. I documented the the damage with pictures and call the office, I was assured it would be noted in the account. I didn't think anything of this till I returned the vehicle weeks later, and was informed I would be responsible for the damage. I was left voicemail by the "manager" Justin. I quickly returned the call, and explained what had happened and was told not to worry and it would be taken care, as customer service was their top priority. Moments after I finished the call I was notified that a claim was opened on my insurance by Justin, after lying to my face. A few days later I was contacted by another "manager" Mike who said after an internal investigation it was deemed my fault, I am not sure how they were able to even complete the "investigation". Next I tried multiple times to contact the apparent general manager, Adam Smith, who is either the busiest person in the world or has the same lack of work ethic as his employees who he clearly need further training in customer service. I think he should be ashamed of the lying and blaming that they are attempting to place on a customer, due to their inept customer service that obviously stems from the general manager all the way down the organization in this location. I realize this review will not change the outcome, but I just want people to know the amount of blatant lying, disrespect, and lack of customer service in this office, and future customers should think twice as giving them any business. I found the staff to be incredibly helpful. They were easy to get on the phone and quickly helpful. When I had a concern with my first vehicle they quickly and without question helped me find another car. They gave me a quick call during my reservation to check in and ensure everything was going well. And when I returned the vehicle they let us store our luggage in their office while we explored downtown before our flight. If I were to return to Milwaukee I'd rent a car from here again without hesitation. read more

I always like the prices of Enterprise, always the best. I made my reservation for two days, one of the lower end models The guys down there go me in and I filled out all the paperwork pretty fast. I only negative thing was I had my car ready to go after arriving, I said nice. Then they gave my car to someone else, twice. So I had to wait an extra twenty minutes to get my car. So I waited thirty minutes and I was on a very tight schedule. However, they made up for it and gave me an upgrade at no costs. The car was clean and nice. Dropping the car after hours is pretty easy, just go around the corner in a garage and park it, and drop keys off in a white box. This would be the third time in 5 months my wife and I rented a car from them. We will be coming back. read more

Bait and Switch on Car Rental! Avoid this car rental outfit! After making a car reservation for an SUV I was told unless I got to to the car rental place an hour before my scheduled pickup time they would not honor my reservation. When I said my transportation was not going to be able to get me there till my agreed upon reservation time they said they would not be able to honor my reservation because someone was there right now that wanted the car. DONT RENT FROM ENTERPRISE. I scraped the side of the car less than 2 mph going into parking spot less than 10 inches long with NO body damage or dent. Was honest and upfront about it with the store and the manager told me it would be 100 dollars and that's it. Called back two weeks later to confirm and the manager again said that the case was closed and they are not even fixing the car because the damage was so minimal. fast forward 3 months later and I get a letter in the mail without notice demanding 500 MORE dollars that I am accountable for. They do not care that I was told by the manager and the manager even spoke with corporate and basically just said to me it's out of his control. This is unacceptable handling of this whole situation and I have a hard time believing they even fixed it being I was told two weeks after that they weren't going to. This is just another scam by them to milk money out of their customers that they DO NOT care about. Will never rent from them again. Update- One of my family members rented a car from them and he tried to add me as a designated driver and it turns out Enterprise discriminated against people who write bad reviews and banned me from renting and/or driving any of their vehicles. read more

I rented a car at the MKE airport this past weekend. The staff was very nice and very professional when I picked up the car and I was satisfied with the vehicle they provided. However, when I dropped the car off at the airport it was early on a Sunday morning, so I had to drop the keys and wait for an email receipt. Upon receiving this, I noticed that I had been charged over $16 for fuel even though I filled the tank on the way to the airport. I have tried calling the phone number on my rental agreement several times, but they do not answer that phone and there is no voicemail. I have emailed the main Enterprise Customer service, but have not received any response to my email. I will update this review and upgrade it if they contact me and refund my money. Otherwise, I will not rent from Enterprise again. ***Update - After posting the above review, and 2 more emails, I quickly heard back from Enterprise, and they are refunding the fuel charge, so I'm upgrading my review. read more

I rent cars somewhat regularly and, until a few weeks ago, thought Enterprise was among the best. The cars had always been clean, the service prompt and courteous, the reservation process efficient, and the prices good. That changed on July 28 when my boyfriend and I went to pick up a car that I had reserved several weeks earlier and that we were using for a week's vacation. (Side note: I am a medical resident so vacation is precious and dates are inflexible.) We arrived approximately 90 minutes later than the time I had listed on the reservation, but I was not worried as car rental agencies had never treated this as a problem in the past. I was informed by the woman at this Enterprise location that they "had" to give my car away because we were late, that they did not have any vehicles available and would not be able to get us a vehicle until the following Monday, 5 days later, and that there was nothing they could or would do to help. A quick search on my phone revealed that thanks to recent flooding in the area, car rental rates had quadrupled since my reservation. I don't expect companies to predict natural disasters but I do expect that in the six days between the flooding and my reservation, they could call and inform me with anticipated difficulties in keeping the reservation, attempt to make amends by offering future discounts or incentives, or at the very least offer a sincere apology and a decent cup of coffee while tired travelers attempt alternate arrangements. For the record, my subsequent attempts to contact Enterprise by e-mail have received no response. In the future I will rent elsewhere and am encouraging my friends and family to do the same. read more

For the love of God... My blood is already boiling recollecting on my experience with this Enterprise location. Fortunately, it's been long enough to where I can sit back and laugh at the living hell this place put me through. Where to begin... Long story short, I needed to rent a car which was entirely covered by my insurance company. Enterprise picks me up from my location (as promised; so far, so good). We drive to this location, and I walk up to the front desk where there is a man in a graphic print t-shirt and baggy pants. I'm confused what he is doing behind the counter, as everyone else is in business casual. He pulls out some yogurt and starts eating it. Weird, unprofessional, but I'm not that much of a stickler to bring my rating down to one star for that. The fun REALLY begins after I get my car and am driving by Miller Park (this is about 10 minutes after I rented the car, mind you). My car DIES. IT DIES AT A STOPLIGHT. I can't even put the hazard lights on. I'm slightly panicking, but trying to keep my cool as cars start accelerating through the green light. So... here I am in this dead car right in the middle of Miller Park Way. Considering the week I had thus far, I was about ready to throw open the car and allow myself to roll into oncoming traffic. What did I really have to live for anymore? Could it possibly get any worse? I rarely say this, but it was the epitome of an "FML" moment. Amazingly, the man behind me was a MacGyver-type Milwaukee Police Detective (seriously, I was in such luck at this point). He grabbed some tools from his car, popped open my hood and my car came back to life; Jesus rollerblading Christ... I could not thank this man enough. I return my car to Enterprise; barely receiving an utterance of an apology and they switched out my car. Luckily, this next car ran fine, however when I opened the trunk I SWEAR to God there was a six pack of Miller High Life tucked in the back corner, 2 of which were empty. Yep. Fun times... When I happily dropped off my rental, looking so forward to being done with Enterprise for forever, I spent the next 3 weeks on and off the phone with the front desk of this location because they kept charging my credit card hundreds of dollars each week. Finally, one of the workers gave me the number to the highest-authority individual at this location. After I called them, they issued me roughly a $500 refund of all of the money they had drained out of my account because this Enterprise location can't get their act together. And they suck. Big time. Alas... that's all I received. I honestly felt like I should have received comped days/free rentals (and then I "fondly" think back on my experience with Enterprise, and would be horrified at the idea of free days of rentals I'd actually have to use. That sounds like the worst thing Enterprise could give me, to be perfectly honest. I shudder in horror at the thought). Yep. So... There you go. Proceed with caution (and by proceed, I really mean avoid this Enterprise location at all costs). read more

Like Enterprise everywhere, there's a high employee turnover, but because they pick you up, this is often your go-to in an emergency, especially a car emergency. Often if you book online with Travelocity or some other service that allows for direct comparison, Enterprise is the least expensive, and one of the ways they do this is a daring daily game of brinkmanship, trying to, and often succeeding in renting out every single vehicle they have, turning around returns very quickly into the next rental. I've often been picked up in the very car I'm going to get. A couple of times, they've totally stressed me out by not having a car at the time I've reserved, but I've rented a lot and they usually come through, at the lowest price in town. They're better to you when you're a regular, but because of the high employee turnover, this relationship has to be renewed all the time. This location is very convenient, in many ways more convenient than the airport, but they also get more than their share of clientele who don't have much experience renting cars, sometimes resulting in long delaying verbal exchanges at the check out counter. Still, among the downtown car rental agencies, this Enterprise has been better to me, with better cars, and more dependable than Avis. In terms of price, Enterprise is sometimes higher than Advantage by the airport (which has worse customer service) but usually less expensive than the rest. If you really need a car rental at a specific time without any stress, make the reservation for an airport pick up, and pay a little more for Hertz. read more

I have rented cargo vans for small moves and have found that U-Haul has a much better and safer cargo van with a bulk head to keep cargo from sliding forward and wood rub rails for tie down points. I noticed on more thing that change me to U-Haul.U-Haul closes any sharp edgeds off on the doors to prevent small cuts it appears U-Haul also replaces there vans every year with new ones WOW that was impressive. I have yet to have a U-Haul van with over 10000 miles on it. Also I found They have 2 rates and guarantee the cheapest rate possible. Either there 19.95 plus mileage or the $80 that includes 100 miles free and anything over that is a meer .29 cents. They also don't charge for additional drivers or. Being under 25. So when my employees would drive for me there was no issues as long as they have a valid DL. read more

My experience with this location has been very good. The employees are friendly and helpful. The only thing I didn't appreciate was that my car was so low on gas. The young man who went over the car with me pointed it out and told me to just put $10 in and bring it back empty. On the way to my son's house (W. Milwaukee) the low fuel light went on and I was in bumper to bumper slow traffic. I was pretty sure that I wouldn't run out of gas, but didn't appreciate having to find a gas station at the beginning of my trip. When I returned the car, the person who drove me to the Amtrak station said it was a problem because there are no gas stations close to their office. I understand, but think they should make a better effort to make sure the cars have gas in them before they give them to a client. I have gotten cars from this office before and this hasn't been a problem. read more

Excellent Enterprise Location! A friend and I were here in Milwaukee for a work trip and Enterprise had our car ready to go when we arrived. Leah and Mitch were super friendly and gave us some ideas for things to do in the area. We only kept the car for a day but the whole experience went very smoothly. They allowed us to return it slightly late without an additional charge, and Leah the manager even paid for us to get an Uber to our next location which was extremely nice of her! Many thanks to the crew. I have a very sensitive coworker who rides in the rented cars with me, and the staff let me do a sniff test on four different cars today before driving off. They gave me a Jeep Wrangler that taught me the lesson that I can't handle parking a 4WD car, and then stayed open an extra 20 minutes when I realized it wasn't for me and let me switch it for a different car. On Monday March 13th there was a snow storm in Milwaukee. The Enterprise staff went above and beyond in driving us over to the airport terminal. They were very helpful with my elderly mom and I and made us feel appreciated and special. From check in a few days earlier to drop off then, the staff was very supportive from bringing the car around front so my mom didn't have to walk to dropping us off at the terminal when we left (: We will definitely call Enterprise again when we need a car to rent! read more

Be careful , there are hidden surcharges they don't warn you about. I rented a 3 day rental in Milwaukee on the second day instead of changing my return flight to Detroit I drove back. A one way rental is $109 day, they hit with a $320 surcharge for taking the car to Detroit when I questioned the bill and wanted to just drive it back to Milwaukee and return it there I was told no it's to late. read more

And then said that I damaged the car when nothing happened. It's a scam to get your insurance to pay for their cars. Make sure you take pictures at pick-up and don't let them rush the walk through. People I met were nice and friendly. So, at the front desk we went over everything I wanted and didn't want and got a total price. I was ok with that price. Then they had me walk out with someone to get into the vehicle and was asked if I wanted vehicle protection which I said no. Well lo and behold I get a bill that included the vehicle protection fees. So, the first call to dispute these charges, one guy tells me, well luckily you did get the vehicle protection because there were damages and you just saved money not having to pay your insurance deductible for these damages. RED FLAG. I thought you sneaky little... Anyways I forgot I had before and after pics and there were no damages. So I call back and the guy that took me to my rental truck answered and he said he told me the total price and that we agreed on that. So my mistake was I didn't add it all up. You see he included the V Protection charge. Sneaky. And because I told him that I had pics , all of a sudden there were no damages on the truck and he said he would split the difference on the V protection fee. Shady, be alert. read more
