Bad customer service, I had a rental reservation for 5 weeks for a truck. After an accident with my truck. When I got there I was told that they had no vehicles available for rental not even the truck that I had a reservation for. The agent was like I can put you in a 1990's honda or something like that. I asked for a manger and he flipped me a business card with a email and said I'm not giving you the number. I'm a member of Enterprise Rent-A-Car and have used them several times in the past for both car and truck rentals. Most recently a ¾ ton truck for a trip out and back to Oregon and then for a Jeep while we were down in Vegas. Both experiences were great. I have always had good experiences with Enterprise and why I decided to become a member. That was until this past week. I booked a rental online for the Missoula location at 3309 W. Broadway St. I booked this online on 5/22 for the following week. A 3-day rental starting on Thursday the 28th- Sunday the 31st. I received my confirmation email on 5/23 and confirmation #2113713518. All was good, or so I thought, until I arrived. We had just completed the 1hr 20 min drive from our home in Plains to pick this rental up. We had planned to rent a larger car for our trip down to UT. This way everyone would be more comfortable, since our larger vehicle was in the shop. However, when we got there, not only did they not have a vehicle for my reservation, but they had no vehicles at all. No call, Text, or even an email letting us know they had no vehicles. I simply got to the counter and was told, I'm sorry we have no vehicles. I'm sorry. I told him that we had just driven in from 90 minutes away to pick this car up and he simply said I'm sorry there is nothing we can do. I said what about my confirmation only to be told we have no vehicles. He was right their lot was bare. I didn't have time to push for a solution since in my mind this was a breach of contract since they had sent me a confirmation number. And I didn't want to argue back and forth. I just turned to leave as he said, "Sorry" again. I just replied "Whatever" in frustration. I think this is exactly what he was hoping for as he then canceled my confirmation out of their system. Terrible customer service and terrible communication. I get things can go wrong, and I get that it may not have been this person's fault. But "Sorry" doesn't cover the inconvenience caused and the hardship of not honoring the confirmation of the rental agreement. I went from Hero Dad to a big Zero dad as I got to try to explain to my kids why you couldn't keep your end of the agreement and why you didn't even have the courtesy of calling/texting to let us know. We then proceeded on our trip in a cramped vehicle we weren't planning on traveling that far in. Not Cool Enterprise! I don't plan on coming back until your competitors find a way to lose my business. I know, no big loss, I'm just one customer of thousands. This is why I decided to share my disappointment with others. I'm just 1 insignificant customer in your world. read more

Truly awful experience. Tristan and Austin both the managers were extremely rude and condescending. They lied about vehicle availability and then gave a car that wasn't working properly. It took days to finally get a working car and a lot of incredibly rude treatment along with it. WOW, just wow, how do these folks stay in business? I will never use Enterprise in Missoula again. You know I've rented with these guys and they were awesome until they weren't, Tristan thought him being the manager gave him the right to be rude, talk down to me, and correct my grammar. If there is one thing I knkw you dont correct someone when they are upset and are the customer. All because heaven forbid I call the deposit the refund coming back once the car was returned. He wasnt listening to me at all. I ended up having to hang up on him becasue he wouldn't quit over talking me. Told me he didnt have a manager and owned the business evidently. because when I asked to speak with his manager it wasnt possible. So like I said it was great until it wasnt. I reserved a mid size SUV several days ahead of time to be able to go attend to my mother who just had a stroke in California. Arriving early, I was told the car would be arriving in the next half hour, but it turned out to be a Camry, not an SUV. There are NO OTHER RENTAL PLACES that allow you to travel to California without charging extra mileage. Enterprise just shrugged their shoulders and said, "Sorry, it's the only car we have available for at least four hours or more." BAIT AND SWITCH. I went to Dollar Rental and I relayed my story of needing to go to California for my mother and they did NOT warn me of losing unlimited mileage for traveling below Oregon. They charged me $1100 + $462 mileage. So it's either a bait and switch or being overcharged. NO GOOD CAR RENTALS IN MISSOULA. read more

Horrible, horrible experience with the non-airport branch. I reserved my rental car a week in advance, received a confirmation email the night before. As soon as my flight landed in Missoula I had a voice mail on my cell phone telling me my rental car was not going to be available due to cars not returning they had been anticipating. Not much of an apologetic tone either. The voice mail had been left on my phone 30 minutes prior to my scheduled car pickup time. I called back and they informed me they didn't have my car and they did not give me anytime a car would be ready, just that i was next on their list. I was disgusted at this point. I had an hour and half to travel to my final destination and was now stranded. I then went to the other rental locations in the airport and they didn't have much either, only high end cars. I finally went to the enterprise kiosk and asked if they were affiliated with the non-airport branch and they said no. So I asked if they had any cars and explained what had happened. The employee was incredibly kind and seemed disappointed in the other enterprise as well. She called the other enterprise right away and they explained to her they could try to have a car for me ready in about 2 hours. Not the greatest, but hey at this point I was happy to have a car. The manager of the airport airport was also very empathetic and said he would do everything he could to help me. After waiting the two hours enterprise showed up to pick us up (an added bonus they originally were not going to do because they don't service pick ups at the airports, but I think the airport location employee insisted they pick me up). Another pain, the airport is five minutes from their location and it's "the only location we do not service" UGH. So you'll drive me across town, but not five minutes down the road? The enterprise employee was not apologetic at all, she seemed put off by even having to pick me up and expected me to feel bad they had planned poorly. They were calling ten other people telling them they had no car for them too. So I should feel lucky?? I wasn't given any discount on my vehicle or ever offered a hotel stay. NEVEER AGAIN will I reserve a rental car from this enterprise. When I dropped off the rental again, I overheard an employee on the phone explaining they weren't going to have a car available and they were short this weekend, they couldn't honor another reservation. So all weekend they failed on their reservations. LONG STORY SHORT- Don't trust a reservation through the non airport enterprise, the airport location however was wonderful and helpful even though they didn't owe me anything. Thank you to them. We could not have been more pleased with Enterprise on Broadway. John was the customer rep that we worked with the most, but I had an opportunity to talk to 2 of the other employees (Crystal and Hayden, I think)...and they were just as nice and helpful. We were upgraded to a much better vehicle as the one we were supposed to have received had just arrived. This was a new Chevy Tahoe with 3000+ miles. If I had any questions they were always courteous. They never seemed to lose patience with someone who had only rented a car once...years ago. They gave our family a ride to the airport to save an extra $25 if we had dropped it off at the airport. How nice! It was a very good experience and I would recommend them to anyone. read more

Staff are kind, but very disorganized. My husband confirmed a rental car pick up with Zack, but when we went to go pick the car up we found out Zack had made a mistake and booked us for pick up five days later. They were completely out of vehicles, so we were without a vehicle for five days. Would not recommend enterprise. We have had great luck with Dollar Rental, which is also located on Broadway. I'm so glad I found a mechanic that told me to go here! While relocating from Spokane Washington to Arlington Texas, my beloved Mercedes broke down on the I90 E at mile market 60 on a Friday afternoon. It took over 5 hours for a tow truck to get to me and by the time I arrived at this Enterprise I was sunburned and parched. Upon entering the facility and briefly explaining that I needed a one way rental, Bob was kind enough to get me water (3x's) as I had run out of water about 3 hours prior. Thank you Bob! When I originally arrived, I was told a one way rental was not possible since they were headed into the 4th of July week and currently did not have enough cars available for what they had rented. They gave me a list of other rental car companies in the area, all of which told me no to a one way rental. So I figured I would get a one way as far as I could go and piggy back from there. I stepped outside to pay the Tow Truck Driver at 6:10 pm and thanked the guys at Enterprise for their time and jocularity on my way out. As I was trying to figure out where to stay for the night to resume my car rental predicament in the morning, the manager Matthew Dermer had made some calls and was given permission for a one way rental to Arlington Texas. Needless to say I was elated since I was now 6+ hours into my car breaking down and had a wicked sunburn from standing on the side of the Interstate waiting for help. Enterprise rented me a 2013 Jetta and this car got over 500 miles to a tank of gas. It was big enough for me to continue on my trek and very comfortable. I'm deeply grateful to Matthew, Blake and Bob for helping me with what seemed like an impossible situation on a Friday evening. It's all a matter of process. I generally use Enterprise Rent-a-Car wherever I go because the company has policies and practices that promote great service, and I have never gotten a car infused with cigarette smoke. Until recently, my experience was with airport rentals, which I suppose have a somewhat higher standard than facilities not attached to an airport. But, I was surprised at the lower quality of pretty much everything at the Missoula Enterprise. There is a whole feeling of untidiness about the place. I was on a tight schedule, but the car I had reserved came in late. An unfortunate, but understandable situation in a small company. But the car that they offered as a replacement was not fueled. So, I waited. The staff was very pleasant, but not efficient. It's all a matter of process and management. read more

I rented a car from this location to go on a trip up to Glacier for 5 days. I found the ladies working in the office very nice, accommodating and easy to talk to about advice on where to go and eat. The gentlemen were nice but not as helpful. Overall a good staff. The one thing I did notice was how the office looked like it had not been cleaned in awhile. I would certainly recommend this location for Enterprise if in town again. read more

This can be used to prove your case of the condition upon returning. Be very careful when dealing with Jacob Babcock the con man. So, it looks like Enterprise is still doing the ding-and-dent scam. My wife and I rented a car from Enterprise for a week in Missoula, Montana. We went through the walkthrough, all was fine. We drove it around town for a week, then took it back today. After returning it, we got a phone call from Enterprise stating "there are ten distinct marks from hail on the roof of the car. Only problem is, there has been no hail in this area in months. Other than a light dusting of rain on Tuesday morning, there has been no precipitation. So, great job, Enterprise. After we fight this and win, we'll never be renting from you again. read more

I came to Missoula, Montana for a week on vacation with my sister and her husband's family. Car rentals every where were over $1000 for the week. I found this Enterprise, which had the best price (far under 1k).The branch manager, Krystal C, was beyond EXCEPTIONAL. Krystal found us the best car at the best price and remembered us on our return. Krystal was super sweet and very personable. When I return to Montana, I would definitely come back to this location because of her service. I definitely recommend this location to others. read more

We got a car here for a one day rental. We were picked up at the Univ. of Montana by a very friendly and helpful rep. Rented a Pontiac G6. The rental was processed quickly and we were on the way. We returned the car the next day at the airport. The rep was not at the counter when we dropped off the car so we just put the keys in the drop box. While I was waiting for my plane to depart, the rep called me to confirm that my car had been checked in an that all was well. Overall an easy and positive experience. read more

I received the worst customer service that I have ever had from a rental agency here. I had to use them because my insurance goes through this location. When I made the arrangements I was very clear that we had a trip planned during the time that my car was being serviced. 3 different agents assured me that this would not be a problem and that all arrangements had been made regarding dropping the car off at the airport and picking it back up upon my return. The day before our return I called to confirm and was told that if I wanted to pick a car up at the airport that I would have to pay for it. And as we were arriving at midnight they would be unable to assist me any other way. I stated that I had confirmed the arrangements with 3 other agents, the employee told me he could see that and would have a supervisor call me back. No one ever called. I called the morning of our departure was told that the supervisor, Jacob was unavailable, but would call prior to our plane departing. That call did not come. I called immediately before our departure and was told that they were unable to assist me at all and there would be no car available for us. This is the worst customer service, highly irresponsible management and clearly either poorly trained or dishonest employees. I may be forced to use them again due to insurance issues, but wiould not recommend under any other circumstances read more

Very personable, friendly, and helpful staff. Since the car I reserved wasn't available, they offered an upgrade at same cost. I didn't have to push it, they offered before I had a chance to even consider what I was going to to. They answered all my questions and made the transaction as smoothly as possible. The driving part of our trip was so much more luxurious and comfortable due to the upgrade. They were so accommodating; we could not be more pleased with the service from these individuals. read more

We were an hour late to pick up our car and found out they had already rented it out so we had to wait another 3 hours before they found a new one for us. It was a Crystler 200 with only 14,000 AND IT BROKE DOWN on the highway after two hours of driving. We had to wait an hour and half for AAA to pick us up and tow the car an hour to the Spokane airport to pick up a new car. They comped us by paying for our gas and crediting us 1/2 on the drop-off fee. Got home at 1AM instead of the 9PM time we had counted on. read more

Third or fourth time I had rented from this location. The service had been adequate but not up to the standards of other ERAC locations. Car was not clean, hamburger wrappers and bags, had to go to a car wash and dispose of trash. It was clear that I would be bringing the vehicle back on a Sunday, it would have been helpful for them to explain the check in procedure. I had to make a flight so I dropped the car in an Enterprise slot at the airport, and called and left a message on their recorder letting them know the car had been dropped off at the airport. Long story short, they didn't check their voice mails, or ignored mine, and ended charging me three extra days. I will be using anybody else next time around. read more

I was only the second person in the door and still waited 20 minutes for my car. While signing the paperwork the guy behind the counter was completely put out that I had any questions. When I was taken to the car the guy walked me around it and when I commented that the interior was dirty (including wrappers etc!) and the gas wasn't full, he said "that's fine". Fine for who!? I took it in and vacuumed it before going on my way. When time came to return the car, all those questions I had that were so tiresome for the guy behind the counter became a problem and I was do a refund. Never got it. I left several messages as did my husband and calls were never returned. My insurance company made things right. What does enterprise care, they got my money right? Rented from them twice, everything was great, then the third time we tried, they told us we didn't meet their qualifications and the first two times we only got the car because the guy was flirting with my roommate.
