I probably would have paid a bit more to go with a different company if I had realized that Dollar was the only one not at the airport. But the shuttle was quick and easy, just make sure to call when you arrive, it's not constantly running. The price shown on my pickup paperwork was $10 more than my reservation stated. The agent said, "Ah, those websites never get the taxes right"...not a big deal on an 8-day rental, but I booked directly at dollar.com, seems like they should be able to get this fixed. Above and beyond helpful and reassuring to a stressed out customer behind schedule due to holiday traffic on Reserve Street. I was so flustered that I left my BiPap in the trunk, a set of keys on the floor and my credit card under the drivers seat. The shuttle driver went back for the BiPap, the manager mailed me the keys at his own expense, and they called to let me know they found the credit card. Everyone at Dollar was so kind and friendly--and I made the flight! (The vehicle I got was a hybrid Camry, at economy prices.) What a great experience. read more

They picked me back up at the airport and gave me the keys again and told me to go. They ended up letting me keep it when I needed it most. Fantastic customer service. I had left a message regarding a question about my rental after hours and they called me back as soon as they opened the next day. This location is off site (about 5-ish min drive away), but if you call them as soon as you get off the plane, they are there to meet you with the shuttle. (A quick call to the location ahead of time with your flight info is appreciated so they are expecting you). The shuttle driver was very nice as well and helped me with my luggage. The CSR had me in and out very quickly. No high pressure sales or push to upgrade or use insurance (so appreciated). My vehicle was just thoroughly cleaned and washed and waiting for me right outside the door. It was in great shape and absolutely no issues. Returning the car was just as easy. I called up Dollar two minutes before arriving. My car broke down a couple of days prior, and I had an important roadtrip to go on. I usually use Enterprise, but they did not have anything available in the timeframe that I needed. I was planning on using Alamo, but they refused to accept my debit card, which is a perfectly valid (and even superior) form of payment. So I went across the street to Dollar. They were very friendly and accommodating. They are a bit more expensive than some other options, but I am happy to pay a company who knows how to take care of their customers more. And they were also able to offer some complimentary accommodations to the fees to help offset the overall costs. read more

Things started off great. We got in at midnight, got picked up from the airport by their shuttle service to bring us to their OFF SITE LOCATION pretty quickly and our car was ready and waiting. No issues until we arrived at 6:40am to return the car a few days later. We had verified by phone that we would be returning the car around 6am and were assured that was no problem. Get there, and no one is there, office is dark and locked. If this were at this airport, this might not be a big deal, but when you are expecting a shuttle service and the people who answer the phone at Dollar have no idea what to make of this situation... LAME. Dollar even tried to say we would be responsible for the car until someone arrived. No way! Ended up getting a cab for $15. read more

Do not rent from them - they will charge fee's and not inform you of them (unless you catch them on your bill). $200!!! And when you call them, they say they found damage - which, unfortunately, you are not there and cannot dispute nor do anything about. Worst rental car experience ever. We made a reservation for a car at Missoula International airport and arrived at 11:20pm on the last flight into the airport for the night. We found out that Dollar is NOT at the airport like all the other car rental companies and that we had to take a shuttle. No problem except the shuttle never showed up. When we called the number listed on the sign for the local Dollar rental desk, it went straight to voicemail, which was full and we couldn't even leave a message. We then called the Dollar 1-800 customer service line, and they told us to call the number we had already called. When we told them it goes straight to voicemail, they tried it themselves to confirm. They then told us the office would be closing in a few minutes (at midnight) ay which time they would not be available to help us. Luckily the Alamo rental desk at the airport was still open and we could grab a car without a reservation. We were flying in for a early morning funeral over an hour away in Polson, and to get stranded in Missoula for the night would have been a huge problem. We will NEVER rent from Dollar in Missoula again!! read more

I wanted to give this place 0 stars but unfortunately that was not an option. We were quoted one price and upon return we were informed that we owed almost 100 dollars more. The employee that handled the return was rude and unprofessional. We had unlimited miles and he informed us that we would be in trouble because we drove to Utah?????? When I reserved a car online for Sept. 11 the 10 PM time that I wanted kept defaulting to 10 AM. So when I arrived at the airport the man on duty, Zeb, growled & said that I was to be there at 10 that morning. He did come in the shuttle to get me & did not say one word as we drove to the company's place of business several miles away. When we got there he said he'd put my suitcase in the trunk of the rental, but didn't tell me which car. (The van was blocking my sight of the car that I was to have.) I signed the papers & he gave me a map to my hotel. I go outside, in the dark, & couldn't find the switch to turn on the headlights. (I am a 77-year old widow who has never driven a Hyundai before.) So I went back in and he came out & turned on the lights without saying one word. Then I couldn't find the lever to move the seat. I went inside again & he came out & slammed the seat so far forward that I couldn't get in. I finally moved the seat enough to get in & drive to the hotel. No business should employ anyone that is that rude!!! read more

Lovely service both in person and on the phone. Trusting a rental company during travel season is tough, but they assured me that the vehicle I requested via Travelocity would be there. And it was! I couldn't find this type of vehicle for less money anywhere else. And even though I did not receive unlimited mileage (hence I only give say 4.5 stars), their mileage allowance was the most generous I found on the internet. I had one of the strangest experiences with a fellow working at the Missoula Dollar Car Rental on Sept 9 '18. He was clearly having a terrible day and was barely keeping it together. I left my daypack in their shuttle and when I called to see if he could locate it he agreed to look and took my contact info. I waited for 10 min. and then spied his van approaching the airport. Thinking I was in luck and assumed he skipped calling me back in order to simply return the pack. Wrong! He dropped a couple of customers, then saw me waiting to talk to him... put the van in a speedy reverse and quickly backed up to ask tersely whether I was renting from Dollar? My response began with, "No, I'm wanting to get..." and without waiting to hear me fully, he raced away! The couple who'd just been dropped off volunteered that he was extremely rude to them, too. They had even seen my pack and offered to try to get it back to whoever left it. He ignored their offer. I called him to try to question why he'd driven away from me and he read me the riot act on how much pressure he's under, yadda, yadda, yadda... He seemed very close to a full meltdown. Yikes! Pretty certain that he should not be working with the public. He called me back a few minutes later to apologize for his behavior which was surprising to say the least. And within another 10 minutes, he also drove back to return the pack and I made my flight, too. Whew!! But yeah, not going to rent from THIS Dollar Car Rental location ever again. read more

my husband & I rented a 15 white passenger van from this dollar rent a car. our experience was GREAT...there staff all across the board, was friendly, polite, and professional/helpful. taylor checked us in, & corey checked us out. both experiences were speedy. I believe ethan was the initial contact I had on the phone when we reserved this vehicle & he couldn't be nicer. car rentals can be hard. but, our experience at dollar car rental on west broadway was perfect. next time in Missoula, your on our list....thank you all for all your great friendly service. :) read more

I rented a car directly from Dollar Car Rental (rather than going through the company website or any other travel website) in Missoula for a week recently. Although they seemed a bit casual on the phone when I first made the reservation -- assuring me I didn't need a confirmation number, etc., they would pick me up at the airport -- it all worked out perfectly. They DID pick me up at the airport when my flight arrived at midnight, drove me to the off-site rental location, and had me in a car and on my way quickly and efficiently. Returning the car at the end of the week was accomplished as easily, by very friendly, easy-going staff. I was driven back to the airport in the car I had rented, so there was no need to haul my luggage out, load it on a bus, etc. All in all, a smooth, friendly experience at a great price. If I return to Missoula I will definitely rent with Dollar again. read more

Returned the car to this location after a day trip from Kalispell to Missoula. Went in to get a receipt, guy checks the car and then claims we'd smoked in it. Neither my wife, daughter or I smoke. They thankfully let me take the car to get gas (we forgot in the rush to get to the air port). I brought it back and insisted yet again that no one in our group had smoked in the car. A different guy went out to check it, and came back this time saying there were cigarette burns in the car. Again WE DON'T SMOKE! None of us noticed any hint of anyone ever having smoked in the car. We literally just drove it down so we could make our outbound flight. In the end they didn't charge us (at least not at the counter) and said they will check with the Kalispell manager about the car. Personally I still think it's just a racket as they charge an extra $250 if they have to clean the car after smoking in it (which we didn't do...uh because we don't smoke!). I'll never use Dollar again after this experience. read more
