Our cars were being serviced and we needed to rent a car on a Sunday. Most places closed so we went down to the airport site on Jefferson blvd. Claudio and staff were so helpful with my husband and me. We needed a car for at least a week and ended up extending to 2 weeks since both of our cars were being serviced at the same time. Claudio helped us and we were able to return the car to the Enterprise closer to our house. The staff at the north Prov location were also very helpful with the extension/return. I came here after my "local" location reallocated my reservation leaving me stranded. The 4 floor staff didn't offer to call over to another location, didn't offer me help with a ride, so I paid for another Uber to the North Providence location and was pleasantly greeted by the counter staff. They let me vent my frustrations about the big fail at the Seekonk location, gave me several choices, and answered all of my questions. They were very understanding when I asked to switch vehicles due to an unexpected odor - seriously these guys are so patient, kindhearted, funny, and absolutely put the customer first! My agent sent my new vehicle back to be cleaned a second time because it didn't meet his standards and profusely apologized that I had to buy a spray to neutralize the lingering smoker smell from a previous renter. I am waiting to switch again due to a tire issue and see a full lot with clean, shiny vehicles ready to be used. Thank you! read more

Adding this again because she took it down. Again shows what type of person she is. Alexis Wright is the worst manager/customer service representative I have ever dealt with. I don't know in what world being a manager at an enterprise in a small town allows you the freedom to be condescending, rude and patronizing. It is very clear that she is biased towards people who do not match her complexion. I will never be going to this location again and will make sure to spread word to all of the locals to look into other options instead. The worst part is that although I may not look the way she thinks successful people look, she will forever be stuck in this unpleasant job whilst I do not work in customer service. I had made a reservation the day before for a rental using my company code. Unfortunately I had lost my wallet with my credit cards located inside. I spoke to someone else at the branch and very clearly stated what happened, and asked if I could switch the rental to someone else's name, although the rental would clearly be for me. The super kind person on the phone agreed it would be no problem and that the change could be done easily. I arrive at the enterprise to pick up the vehicle. A kind gentleman made it clear that we needed proof of address for the gentleman whose card would be on file for the rental. We complied and gave a substantial amount of different items that would constitute as proof; bills, car insurance information, bank accounts information, state licensing information. The gentleman kindly agreed and had began getting the rental ready. This is where Alexis steps in. She very takes a disdainful, condescending look at me and the person I was in there with up and down and said "Mmm no". It was very clear that she made an unfair, biased opinion and that she could override it if she had wanted to. We proceed to continue to show her other options of proof of address, while understanding that her intention is just to ruin the interaction out of spite. This is clear based on the very rhetorical questions she kept posing while continuously patronizing me and the other person I was there for. "Is that a utility bill? Mmm no". She all but said You can totally rent a car as long as you follow these very obviously tedious rules that I can bypass at any moment but will choose not to because of what you look like. She then belittled her coworker (another person of color) and said that he was a moron who didn't know what he was going because he was only there for 3 months (doesn't really sound new to me) and that was she was the MANAGER (enunciation and all, for what reason I don't know because who lets the little power of being a customer service manager get to their head) and so he had to do whatever she told him to do. We were able to go to a Hertz and rent a car no problem at a discounted rate. Maybe I should carry around a calculator and tattoo professional on my forehead to receive the respect every human being deserves. I really hope that Alexis gets over whatever troublesome thing that is occurring in her life that would give her need to treat people like that. It is okay to not be able to do whatever someone is asking you to do but the attitude, the rolling of eyes, the looking up and down, all extremely unnecessary. Maybe she had a troubled past and now thinks she can treat others that way but it was very rude, obnoxious, & felt racially charged. We weren't rude, tried to be extremely patient, and tried hard to not cause a scene but it seems as though Alexis couldn't help herself. May god bless her soul. Like check yourself. About a month ago I went to this location to rent a vehicle to transport two adults and five children on a road trip down the East Coast. I subsequently visited this branch at least two additional times to make sure my reservation was all set. I visited again on April 9 and spoke with staff and a manager who told me that we really needed a minivan to fit all of us and our luggage so they would have one on hold for us to pick up. They even brought me out to see a minivan that was equivalent to the one that I rented and I took pictures of it (posted with this review). When I arrived to pick up my minivan yesterday (April 17) at the appointed time they tried to give me a Tahoe. I took one look at it and told them there was no way I could fit seven people and seven suitcases in that vehicle and then I wanted the minivan that we had discussed. After at least 30 minutes of antics they finally admitted to me that they did not have the minivan. Nor could they get it for me. This was the Saturday two days before me and my friend and our five kids were scheduled to leave on our trip on Monday and Enterprise is closed on Sunday. Here I am the day before my trip with no vehicle to transport us and Airbnb reservations made and paid for. It's like that Seinfeld episode - this branch has no problem taking a reservation but they can't seem to hold a reservation.... read more

My daughters car was rear ended. She had an all wheel drive car. They gave her a rear wheel drive and told her that's what her insurance allowed. She told them in the past she was always given an all wheel drive car . We live in a rural area on a dirt road and in an area that can't be salted. The next day we had a snow storm and she spun out several times. I called and asked for an all wheel drive car and explained the car that they gave her with almost 30000 miles on it was not safe and the lights didn't work correctly. She said that an extra 6 dollars a day. I asked for the military discount and she stated she got hit leaving her base. She said it would cost more if she went with the military discount. We went to the airport location and got an all wheel drive car without an extra fee. The manager needs a lesson in customer service. read more

I would like to start by saying that I am a loyal Enterprise customer and that when it comes to renting vehicles this is my first choice by far. That being said I was appalled by my most recent experience picking up my rental. The transaction started off nicely, and the young gentleman (Austin) who was helping me out (it was his first day) was absolutely lovely! When I arrived there was only one other customer there who was already being helped. By the end, there were almost 10 customers waiting while the manager Katie was yelling at the other gentleman employee in an office where everyone could hear and see. At that point, all I was waiting for was to swipe my credit card, I even had the keys and signed the agreement~I could have just left. The whole transaction took nearly an hour! The manager knew there was a lobby full of customers waiting and still continued to discipline her employee in an unprofessional manner while everyone waited in the lobby for at least half an hour. Customer service should have come first in this scenario and I know that I was not the only frustrated customer...This argument should have been done after the branch had closed, or at least postponed once the manager was aware that the lobby had backed up!! I will say that other than that, the other employees were very pleasant including the guy who eventually checked me out for my pickup as well as another manager (Chris) who took care of my drop-off. And of course Austin was awesome. Overall, I'm not sure if I would want to rent here again due to the hassle and no compensation for that hassle and waste of time. p.s. I wrote a complaint to the company on the day of the incident and have yet to hear back....but I did receive an email from enterprise thanking me for being a valued member and asking me to share my experience on social media~here you go! read more

My car was hit and insurance is paying for my rental. I'm supposed to have a premium car. First car was a dirty Toyota RAV4 that smelled like weed and had nearly 40,000 miles. I asked for a new car. Got a VW Passat. At first it was great. Then all sorts of error messages pop up, including that something is wrong with the airbags. Their solution was to offer an economy/compact car. All are warm and welcoming and I appreciate the service that picks you up to take you to the North Providence location. Renting a car is not my favorite thing to do because of the stress it can bring (taking on the responsibility of keeping car in tact). So the Enterprise Service Reps. will help alleviate the stress. It's a good idea to do a little research and know the information needed before going into the store to take care of the transaction. If you are from out of town be aware that you should call your bank first to alert them that you will be using your credit card from another state. Card carrying thieves. Returned a car rented one-way, from NJ. Upon pickup in NJ, the car, which had 25k miles, had a variety of minor damage. Reluctantly, they marked a spot or two, and said "we don't consider this damage." Upon check-in in North Providence, they have been trying to file a claim against me for said imperfections on the car. In addition, they refused to let me drop the car at a shop a few blocks away. I've rented many cars. Never had an issue with any of the other major companies. None. Nada. However. this is not my first rodeo with Enterprise. Though I am covered through my credit card and insurance, I am getting jacked around. Had a lesser but equally noxious experience at their location on Bald Hill Rd. in Warwick about 18 months ago. How they continue to get away with acting like the 800 lb. gorilla is beyond me. They are delusional. Vote with your dollars, ppl. They are NOT the only game in town. If you need to take a bus, then so be it. See Sandra's similar comments from June 6. Next stop, attorney general's office, senior management, and any other social media I can find the time for. I just had one of the worst car rental experiences at this Enterprise location, which is apparently under new management. I reserved a car through Costco Travel - the price was actually a really nice $9.99 a day for a small car, which I requested because I'm really short (just under 5 feet tall), for a total of $34 for the weekend. When I arrived at the location, they were all out of small cars, and I was asked to wait along with another customer that had made an earlier reservation. After a few minutes, I was asked to wait for a Honda Accord being driven in by the manager -- not a problem, even though it's bigger than I wanted. After waiting 20 minutes, the car arrives and the sales rep takes me to the back and tells me that he's sorry, but that his manager says that if I rent that car, he'll have to charge me an extra $15 a day. I asked why I would pay twice the amount to rent a car that I would have difficulty driving and didn't prefer, he told me he would call around for a small car that would be there in about 10 minutes. He made some calls and said they had located a Mazda 3, which was supposedly on its way. After another 30 minutes, it still had not arrived. The sales rep kept apologizing and saying that he was sorry that he had all SUVs. I then said that I would even be willing to drive one of the many small SUVs on the lot, just to have a rental I could drive. He said that it would be a lot more to "upgrade" me to an SUV. This seemed fairly ridiculous, since at every other car rental place I've been to (including the Providence airport Enterprise), they will usually let someone drive an "upgraded" car at little/no cost if they are out of a certain model - especially with a lot full of SUVs that no one was looking to rent. After about an hour of waiting, someone pulled in with a Chevy Impala. The rep then told me that they would put me in that full-sized car at no extra cost. I asked about the Mazda that was supposed to be coming, since it was a lot easier for me to drive, and they said that they didn't know where it was. If I didn't have somewhere to be tonight, I would have just left them with that car, since I can barely reach the accelerator without stretching my foot. They didn't have an answer when I asked why they could put me in the Impala, but not the Accord, which was there a full 50 minutes beforehand? The whole time, the "manager" (Mike) ignored all the unhappy customers (there were two other men that waited there at various times, one of them waiting to return a van, who said that he also had a long wait when originally renting the car). He never apologized to anyone for waits, and was inflexible with everyone on the rental costs, despite not having the cars available that customers had reserved. He did not seem to treat his employees very well, or give them the opportunity to make customers happy in any way except apologies. (To be fair, I think the sales rep Tom was a great guy stuck with a bad boss) He seemed very young, and more concerned with trying to stick to a bottom line than promote any type of loyalty. I previously have had GREAT rental experiences at this Enterprise, since it is the one closest to my family in Rhode Island, and would have agreed with the previous 5 star review about great customer service at this location. I hope that something here changes for the better, but I don't plan to return and find out. read more

I almost didn't rent a car from here because of the reviews, but I only needed to rent for a day and they were very close to the location where I was staying, so what the heck. On 9/15/17 I rented a car from Enterprise Rent-A-Car on Mineral Spring Avenue in North Providence, RI. I paid with a money order from the Cumberland Farms next door approximately $300 for the rental with a $200 deposit that I was told would be returned to me in 7-10 days. On 9/28/17 after still not receiving my check (10 days later) I called Enterprise at 8:30am to get some answers to where the money owed to me was. I was told it would be looked into and someone would get back to me. I called back at 1:00pm and was told it can take anywhere from 10-14 days which is not what I was told when renting the car. I waited the 14 days and still, no check. I called again at 8:30am and was told it would be looked into but it can take up to 2 and a half weeks. It seemed like everytime I called I was being brushed off and given false information. Unfortunatly I did not have time to talk on the phone as I was going into work and I asked if someone would call me on my lunch break at 1:00pm to try to figure out what was going on. At 1:30 after still no phone call, I called back and was told by Ben that someone would call me before the end of the day today as they were trying to get in contact with someone from the billing/processing department. When I got out of work at 5:00pm there was still no call and Enterprise closes at 6:00pm. At 5:30 I decided I was not going to wait any longer for an answer as to where MY money was. I called the line and was connected with Eric. I voiced my frustration to Eric that I still had not received my money and it was becoming very apparent that no one in this office cared. Eric apologized and proceeded to say "I wish I could just give you the money". I jokingly responded, "Yeah, me too that would be great." Eric responded, "Really? Do you really want the money?" At this point I was taken back a bit and a little surprised. I said, "Yes, I do. Can I come pick up a check?" He said, "No, it wouldn't be a check it would be cash." I said, "I'm confused, are you going to cancel the check and give me money out of petty cash?" He said, "Not exactly, im trying to think of a way that I can get you the money." I said, "I'm very confused and I'm not following you. Can you explain" He said, "It would be from my pocket...Do you have any ideas?" At this point I'm in shock. Because of my history of abuse and diagnosed PTSD I immediately experienced a flashback and had a severe anxiety attack. I needed to get off the phone right away. I said, "Oh no, that is not your responsibility I will just wait for the check." He said, "Ok, I really wish we could of worked something out." I hung up. Eric was soliciting me for prostitution over the phone. I couldn't believe what had just happened to me, I felt like it was straight out of a movie or I was on a hidden camera show and at any minute someone was going to call me back and say I had been pranked. It was one of the most degrading, sick acts that has ever been tried on me. Eric took advantage of my desperation for the money that was owed to me. By the sneaky, sly, confidence in his voice, I doubt this is the first time he has tried something like this. I immediately called my father who advised me to contact Corporate right away. I was connected with a customer service line and was told to call the particular Enterprise that this happened at (Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence, Rhode Island) and speak with a manager. I called and spoke with Ben and explained the story to him. He apologized and told me to call back tomorrow at ask for Tyler. Now amidst all of this, I still had no idea where my refund deposit was and now I had a whole other monster to deal with. I proceeded to tell Tyler the story and was placed on a conference call with someone from corporate and my father was on the line as well. I finally got the information that they had a wrong address for me and that's why I didn't receive my check. On the day that I rented the car, the man took the information straight from my license. My address is West Forest Ave in Pawtucket, they had West St in PANTUCKET. The lack of concern that Enterprise employees have for their customers is concerning. I was told I would have a check written to me to pick up by the end of the following day and there would be a thorough investigation conducted. 5pm the following day rolled around and I got a call from Tyler stating that he was not able to write me a check, but he would withdraw money from his account to give me the $200 owed. This whole situation was getting sketchier and sketchier. I received the $200 cash and was told that it would be brought out to my car because Eric was inside working. When I got there Tyler told me someone would be in contact with me on Monday. I never received a call on Monday and Tuesday at 4:00pm Tyler texted my phone asking me when a good time to call would be. I said anytime after 5:00pm because that's when I get out of work. There was an issue with my reservation, I had misunderstood and booked a smaller car than I wanted to, and Jon the manager was extremely helpful in resolving the issue. About a month ago I rented a car from the North Providence location for a weekend trip using the 1-800 number. I must say it was the best rental experience I have ever had. When I arrived, I was greeted courteously and quickly and was very pleased with the process as well as the car I ended up getting. There were no differences between the prices I was given when I made the reservation and what I was told at the location, which has happened elsewhere. The process was smooth. I was also given the opportunity to leave the car I came with in a secure location as well as a drop off procedure after hours. We had a reservation booked 2 months ahead of time and had rented from them on 4 previous occasions. Upon arrival after a grueling red eye from oakland to Boston, we were informed that our debit card and out of state licenses were not valid for us to rent a car with regardless of the fact that the same card and license had been accepted 4 times previously. The desk clerk was some half wit north prov greaseball with a shitty attitude who walked away from me in the middle of a question. This unbelievable rudeness prompted me to tell him to &$$?$$& himself and I walked out with my family. We then proceeded to hertz on silver spring where we were treated with courtesy and professionalism in every aspect. It may be that not all enterprises are this horribly unprofessional, but this experience has ensured that we will never rent from this company again ever, anywhere under any circumstances. Beware of Enterprise in North Providence RI, I rented a truck from the North Providence Enterprise branch for a few weeks. When it was time to return the truck my son and husband met with the Enterprise employee who was assigned to pick up the truck that evening. Upon inspection there was a small scratch and was agreed by everyone that it wasn't a deep scratch and could be buffed out. I received a call later that night from Enterprise informing me about the scratch. I told them I wanted to come and take pictures of the scratch, they agreed but, I was told that I would have to wait until a report was completed. A few days went by and I called and spoke with the manager at the N. Providence branch and asked him when I could come view the scratch, he again told me I had to wait until a report was completed before I could come and take pictures of the scratch. I still didn't hear back so I called again and spoke with a Nicole and she informed me that it was too late the repair to the truck was done and the truck was rented. Nicole was very unprofessional, you could tell she was young and incompetent. I asked to speak with the manger and she told me he was in a meeting but, she would have him call me back, needless to say he never did so I called again. I then received an invoice in the mail for over $2,000.00 with a whole list of repairs that Enterprise wanted me to pay for. I called the damage control dept. that sent me the bill. They first said they would take off the admin. Fees only I did not agree. Damage control then told me to put it through my insurance. I called Enterprise Corp. Office and was told Adam Sena would be able to help me. I explained the situation to Adam but, he wasn't any more help and said he would accept $1,000.00 and once again he wanted me to put this through my insurance. I asked Adam if he would pay $1,000.00 for a scratch he didn't see, he could not answer me. I told Adam this was not right how Enterprise is trying to rip people off. Anyone who is in need of renting a vehicle please stay away from Enterprise. On a positive note I did have a very good experience with Hertz on Putnam Pike, Johnston RI exception service! read more
