Great car selection from their Emeral Isle, but this location doesn't use the Emerald Isle, rather there's a booth in the garage where you need to wait in line for someone to give a car. I find this very inconvenient, but it is what it is. Car selection here was adequate, not the best. Service was nice and friendly, both on pickup and checking back in. Overall, I'd most definitely return to rent from National, but this isn't my favorite location.

I walked to the counter inside of the airport where Bryce assisted with my rental check in. He was very friendly and helpful throughout the entire process. He definitely made the check in seamless and put me in a Toyota Camry hybrid which was super nice and great on gas. The check out process was seamless and easy as well. Zero issues or complaints!

When our flight was delayed causing us to miss our connection, we had to pivot to flying out of Syracuse airport. We called Alamo on the phone and told them the situation, they said it would cost us $400 more. We were unhappy about this, and the customer service rep said to speak with someone when we return the car. Upon dropoff, we were met by Brendan and Bryce. They also saw the same number on their end, but rather than charge us that amount, they did something and we did not get charged an extra dollar. We were super stressed about our flights not making it out, and Brendan and Bryce eliminated a major problem we were facing. Thanks to both of you, I highly recommend renting a car from Alamo to enjoy beautiful upstate New York.

(Open lot parking at the airport is $8 per, I assume also plus tax, but not sure.) In any case, it doesn't matter. I might be willing to pay MORE than the Airport price for the simple fact that after flying into SYR at 11 pm after a 10-day trip and a 17-hour journey, I DIDN'T have to brush off my car, de-ice my car, and cross my fingers that my car would start. Working with Americar was simple and straight forward. I didn't have to wait long for the shuttle on either departure day or arrival day. Staff were all friendly, and one gave me a heads-up that my reverse lights were out when I picked up the car. Recommended, particularly in the winter.

The had just what I needed, a 15 passenger van, they very friendly and accommodating. I arrived to get the van earlier than agreed upon, but it was no problem, they had the van ready to go and I was out in about 15 minutes after we took care of the paperwork. Not done yet!, we get to the car, it's terribly dirty, the windshield is so covered with bugs, the wipers won't clear, we had to drive to a gas station, and clean it with a brush.....there was food in center console....just a terrible experiance.

I wanted to make sure that this vehicle was serviced before anyone else drove it. When I was driving straight, my hands were at 11 and 4 on the steering wheel I got a charge a week later for a week's rental, because they said I never turned the vehicle in. Some small miracle happened and I was able to get in touch with a representative who was helpful and apologetic. He assured me that the charge would be refunded. I was charged another week's rental two days later. I am so irritated. In addition, my deposit was never refunded. There is no hope in getting ahold of a rep. I have no words. The associates are incompetent and this must be addressed by Dolllar. DO BETTER.

I was stuck with an off-track driver's window AND NO A/C for most of the ride. Hertz Roadside kept sending me to the rental desk at SYR but they NEVER picked up the phone (must have called 20 times in an hour)...also no ability to leave a message for assistance. When i returned the vehicle, one of the agents gave me a card with an email address and basically said good luck as he "hadn't talked to anyone at management in 2 weeks". Your good deal won't be worth it here.

However, I've had a much different experience this time. I get to the counter and the female working the counter was cold and calloused. She never greeted me with a smile, instead, she was rude in the way she kept telling me that I needed to leave my credit card in the credit card reader as she worked her computer. When I explained that made me uncomfortable, she started to get short with me about that being the necessary process to get things moving. In the end, she added all the upgrades and insurance that I've declined when I reserved the car, and up charged my credit card almost three times more than the agreement online. When I brought this up to her attention, she said the card was already ran. I asked for a supervisor and she sat there on her phone, perhaps texting her supervisor, but the whole process to get the price corrected took 40 minutes and 3 attempts in total. By this time the price was corrected, we were rushing to get to our destination with 3 receipts in hand, all with different prices. It was a frustrating start to the trip and an unpleasant experience with Hertz. I hope I'm the future, there will be better training for staff to efficiently and empathetically do their job especially at a location as busy as the airport.
