Great car selection from their Emeral Isle, but this location doesn't use the Emerald Isle, rather there's a booth in the garage where you need to wait in line for someone to give a car. I find this very inconvenient, but it is what it is. Car selection here was adequate, not the best. Service was nice and friendly, both on pickup and checking back in. Overall, I'd most definitely return to rent from National, but this isn't my favorite location.

Great car selection (including Audi, BMW, MBZ, Volvo, Land Rover, Cadillac, and rarely even Maserati for upgrades), service and staff. During one of my first experiences, I saw a Tesla Model X available on the site and booked it, extremely excited that they finally adopted the electric SUV. Arrived with a huge disappointment since the car is actually not available and the staff at SYR has never even seen the car. Spoke to the manager Bri; she was extremely understanding and was able to switch me to a equivalent sized SUV albeit not electric (the EUV available was a volvo that was a lot smaller than the Model X) and treated me with respect. Even recognized that I was a military member and thanked me for my service! The next experience in Dec 2023 was also superb. Initially came in with a reservation of an Audi A4 but had a previous upgrade. Though staff Marc said that I just missed an upgrade (previous client just rented an A5) the attendant Anthony overheard and said they may have just received one. After only a few minutes of waiting, they got me into a brand new upgraded A5. What a great team striving to make their customers happy! A visit in Feb 2024 when I rented a full sized vehicle, though clean and new, did not love the specific brans. Went back to Marc and asked if it is possible to get a nicer vehicle on the lot. He told me he will try his best and immediately called his supervisor. After striving to help me, viola! Upgraded into a luxury SUV for being a long-time repeat Emerald Club customer. Furthermore, Marc even found the backpack that I accidentally left on the first rental before the switch and returned it to me! Great customer service. Another 2 great recent experiences in Nov & Dec 2024 where Sarah L, the CE manager not only found the vehicle I requested for, she responded to my concerns with efficiency, grace and understanding. Unparalleled, sensational customer service. All staff and managers should strive to be like Sarah. Experiences just keep getting better! The managers Sarah L, Bri, attendant Anthony and staff Marc G made the experiences even better. Keep up the good work Sarah, Bri, Anthony, Marc, and National SYR!

I asked for another car, something smaller, but that was all they had. The nice lady at the counter gave a number to call the next day if I wanted to change cars. I called the number the next day, told them I wanted something smaller. She said to just come to the Airport to switch cars. I asked do I need to fill it up or anything, she said no. So I went to the lot, parked the minivan, talked to the same lady that I talked on the phone, I gave her my keys, she gave the keys to a car. She asked is a Nissan Sentra ok, I said perfect. No paperwork, zero fuss, the whole interaction only took a few minutes!! I never would have thought it would be that easy!! Major props to the people working at Alamo Rent A Car at the Syracuse Airport, excellent, excellent customer service!!

(Open lot parking at the airport is $8 per, I assume also plus tax, but not sure.) In any case, it doesn't matter. I might be willing to pay MORE than the Airport price for the simple fact that after flying into SYR at 11 pm after a 10-day trip and a 17-hour journey, I DIDN'T have to brush off my car, de-ice my car, and cross my fingers that my car would start. Working with Americar was simple and straight forward. I didn't have to wait long for the shuttle on either departure day or arrival day. Staff were all friendly, and one gave me a heads-up that my reverse lights were out when I picked up the car. Recommended, particularly in the winter.

The had just what I needed, a 15 passenger van, they very friendly and accommodating. I arrived to get the van earlier than agreed upon, but it was no problem, they had the van ready to go and I was out in about 15 minutes after we took care of the paperwork. I wanted to make sure that this vehicle was serviced before anyone else drove it. When I was driving straight, my hands were at 11 and 4 on the steering wheel I got a charge a week later for a week's rental, because they said I never turned the vehicle in. Some small miracle happened and I was able to get in touch with a representative who was helpful and apologetic. He assured me that the charge would be refunded. I was charged another week's rental two days later. I am so irritated. In addition, my deposit was never refunded. There is no hope in getting ahold of a rep. I have no words. The associates are incompetent and this must be addressed by Dolllar. DO BETTER.

I was stuck with an off-track driver's window AND NO A/C for most of the ride. Hertz Roadside kept sending me to the rental desk at SYR but they NEVER picked up the phone (must have called 20 times in an hour)...also no ability to leave a message for assistance. When i returned the vehicle, one of the agents gave me a card with an email address and basically said good luck as he "hadn't talked to anyone at management in 2 weeks". Your good deal won't be worth it here.
