The lady on duty as we checked in, late, was a hoot! With her deep southern drawl (think CAJUN) I could barely understand her. But she was extremely helpful and friendly! Thank you. The room was nice, well laid out and clean. Nothing exceptional but nice. There was a nice little kitchenette in the room that looked pretty well stocked. Bring your own food and dine in. This is mostly a Railroad hotel. Functional and somewhat utilitarian, but still a good choice. The only drawback was that there was no breakfast served. I do like my breakfasts.

They do have a Cancelation Stamp for your NP Book if you ask - It is a National Heritage Area. Only four stars because the beds were uncomfortable, and really, $13 for a continental breakfast that nearly every other HGI hotel has for free. My family and I had to munch on some cereal to keep us going for our journey and now have to find somewhere to eat. The door situation makes sense now. I mean, even y'all thought the food was bad so it's understandable that y'all had to take a slice of our door and nibble on that instead of your disgusting breakfast. Unfortunately we had one thing that required us to contact our travel agent, but it all worked out in the end from a brief conversation with the front desk Manager at Wyndham Grand Rio resort. Also the food was amazing! Our driver back to the airport walked us through a few recipes on how to make it at home! We will definitely be back!
