Yikes, I'm glad I didn't see the other reviews. We had a great experience! The person at the desk was really nice. He recommended a few different cars and we checked 2 of them out before deciding on a Kia SUV. We drove to Vermont for the solar eclipse. The car was spacious enough for our family and luggage, easy to drive and great on gas efficiency. Wasn't expecting that. Returning the car was easy as well. Great experience. Rochester Gates Enterprise was a life saver after my husband booked a car in the wrong state. The airport quoted us over $500 for a new reservation so I decided to see what I could get near by. I booked a car and received a phone call as we started to walk over. They offered to pick us up but we were already almost there. Ryan helped us out and had to tell us they didn't have the car we ordered but ended up upgrading us for the inconvenience to the next vehicle they had. He gave us the best customer service. He went above and beyond to help us out in the situation we ended up in. The first car we were given had a strange smell and he was able to get us another car asap. When we returned the car we were offered a ride to the airport, sadly I didn't catch the gentlemen's name because I was getting our luggage while my husband returned the keys. I recommend renting from Rochester Gates Enterprise. Super friendly and amazing customer service. read more

This Dodge Van should have never left Rochester NY per the Enterprise rep in St George Utah: We picked up the Enterprise rental van at 7 AM for a 14 day trip out West. 1. Vehicle was not ready - 20 minutes late 2. Vehicle had the remnants of the last trip still on its windshield. 3. Interior windows were not cleaned - have pictures 4. Second day - Change oil light came on for the remainder of the trip 5. In Utah we found the coolant level to be below the minimum. Had to get fluids toped off at Enterprise vendor in St. George. Took 4 hours out of our trip. 6. St. George Enterprise tried to trade in our van for another due to oil light. Had none we continued with the van. Have pictures 7. Came home, called Enterprise customer service 7 (Seven) times. Told the Rochester Airport manager called 3 times. This manager never called. 8. Enterprise manager recommended to seek to dispute the charge with my credit card company. 9. Enterprise manager completely did NOT care about my concerns nor the condition of this vehicle. read more

Hi, this is my first review on yelp and I do it because I feel extremely disappointed from Enterprise. I go to Rochester Institute of Technology as an international student. I booked a car using Expedia with weeks of priority. When I get to the location 248 Buell Road Rochester, NY 14623, the Branch Manager (Rent-A-Car Division) Sara Palmer told me that I couldn't rent a car because I had to bring "license translation book" even though my license was in spanish (same alphabet), so she said I couldn't rent car. Just the day before I had rented a car in Enterprise (I can provide it if any representative from Expedia contacts me), and I've rented cars in the whole united states in the last 3 years, including west coast, and never you would ask the customer to bring the "translation book", even when you go to a super market, they would have the "translation book", they won't ask the customer to bring it, that's ridiculous. So basically, an INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS OR TOURIST (J1, J2, F1, F2, HB1, HB2) CANNOT RENT A CAR IN ENTERPRISE. The person in the left in the picture that I posted treated me extremely unprofessional and disrespectful, the blonde one in the right was nice. Sara Palmer was not rude but could not show where in the rules of Expedia that I had to bring the "translation book" and still as the Branch Manger didn't rent the vehicle, it's like if she says no, then it's no and that's it. I ended up without a car, since the reservations in other rentals where extremely expensive to book it at the same time of picking up the car. If any person for enterprise contact me and more than welcome to provide more details about this case, I have the record of the conversation with Expedia when I called from the same branch to cancel the reservation. Remember INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS OR TOURIST DONT RELY ON ENTERPRISE TO RENT A CAR, THEY WON'T RENT IT AND YOU WILL END UP WITHOUT CAR IN A CITY THAT YOU PROBABLY DON'T EVEN KNOW. Alamo and enterprise suck!!! When I returned the car, there was nothing wrong. Then a few days later, they told me there was a damage on the side door. I asked them to give me the proof with my acknowledgment. They kept passing my case around with at least 5 people. None returned my call. And 10 months later, they sent it to collection agency and put a hold on my account so I won't be able to rent from them until I pay off. Guess what you will never see a penny from me and you are not the only rental car company out there. read more

I rented a pickup truck to move my daughter back from Virginia. 5 minutes after leaving Enterprise message came up low tire pressure, down 18 lbs. Called and told to stop at any Monro muffler. 4 day rental and every morning had to find an air pump because tire was down 12 to 18 pound after sitting over night. read more

I arrived in Rochester near midnight and was fortunate to receive a free upgrade. The service was excellent, the car was clean and ready to go, and the transaction was complete in under 5 minutes. I highly recommend Enterprise any time, but they really delivered this time around with great service. read more

Jenna was an absolute pleasure to deal with, but her co-worker Sandy made me feel like a second rate citizen. From the beginning of my experience Sandy never made eye contact with me, which happens sometimes I guess, but when she made me wait to 'enter her code' until she was done processing another customer, who came in after me, now that upset me. Then another co-worker offered to enter her code instead and Sandy answered "She can wait until I'm done". I don't know Sandy, so I'm sure she couldn't have a beef with me before I entered the business that morning. I just wanted to rent a vehicle. I will be sure Sandy doesn't work at the pick-up location IF I ever rent from Enterprise again. read more

I've used this Enterprise location for years. It is well worth taking a cab from the airport the short distance to this location - you car rental will be MUCH less than airport rates. The staff provides excellent customer service. read more

At first everything was great: I received great customer service from both Crystal and Sarah. However, Crystal failed to tell me that there would be an ADDITIONAL (?) security deposit later on, besides the $50 one I put down at the beginning (this was a car insurance-covered rental).......I was already stressed, my car totaled, trying to find a new car, and got a call from a manager named Sandy...she asked for a $100 deposit and I asked "Why? I already paid the standard $50 deposit that was required". She really had no good answer, just said it was required. I said "No way. No one spoke to me about this when I rented the car, and it is NOT listed on my paperwork. Therefore, I am NOT paying this." She said "OK", reluctantly, and I had to pay right then and there an amount on my card to cover what I had incurred already (I had opted for the additional insurance, $15/day). It's not like it was a big amount...they really had to call and harass me for $63.xx?? Insulting and stress inducing. SMH. Would not go to this one again. read more
