N Salisbury location. By far the worst rental car experience I have ever had. I'm currently dealing with the aftermath of a car accident that was caused by someone else, and the at-fault driver's insurance company arranged my rental through Enterprise. An already stressful situation has been made significantly worse by having to deal with one problem after another with these rental vehicles. I do want to make it clear that everyone I have spoken with at the Salisbury location has been very friendly and pleasant to deal with. My frustration is not with how I have personally been treated by the employees -- it is with the condition and quality of the vehicles I have been given. After only a couple of days with the first vehicle, an alert began appearing that apparently indicated an issue with the battery. On top of that, the entire vehicle smelled like cigarette smoke. And if that doesn't say enough about how thoroughly the vehicle was cleaned before being rented to me, there was still a cigarette lighter left in the passenger-side door from the previous renter. I will also give Enterprise credit for coming to my workplace and exchanging that vehicle for another rental, which I genuinely appreciated. Unfortunately, the replacement vehicle is somehow worse. The interior was not properly cleaned and has an extremely strong body odor smell that seems to be embedded in the fabric seats. The smell is so bad that it appears someone tried to cover it up by putting an air freshener directly into the air vent rather than actually addressing the condition of the vehicle. Even more concerning, the speedometer is displaying kilometers per hour instead of miles per hour. I am driving in the United States and have no clear indication of how fast I am actually traveling in MPH. I should not have to worry about doing conversions while driving or potentially receiving a speeding ticket because a rental vehicle was handed over to me without the basic settings being appropriate for use here. At this point, I cannot wait to get my own vehicle back from the collision center. Being in an accident that I did not cause and dealing with repairs and insurance is stressful enough without being given one problematic rental vehicle after another. I am extremely disappointed with the condition and quality of both vehicles I have received from this Enterprise location. One smelled like cigarette smoke and still had a lighter from the previous renter inside of it; the other smells so strongly of body odor that an air freshener appears to have been shoved into the vent to mask it. That is completely unacceptable. Again, the people I have interacted with have been friendly, and I appreciate that. Unfortunately, friendly customer service does not make up for receiving two rental vehicles in a row that clearly should have been inspected and properly cleaned before being handed over to another customer. I would never voluntarily use Enterprise again after this experience. The only reason I am using them now is because the insurance company for the person who hit me directed me to Enterprise for the rental. For a company whose entire business is providing people with clean, reliable vehicles, I expected much better -- especially basic cleanliness, proper vehicle operation, and a car that allows me to clearly see how fast I am driving. read more

My experience was very bad on April 1st 2025 I was in accident no fault of my own . My insurance company set up arrangements for me to receive a rental car from Enterprise in Salisbury,MD at this location. They pick me up at my auto bodyshop .Everything seemed to be fine they inform me I would to pay a deposit of 50 dollars for the rental my insurance company would cover up to 30days which also would 40 dollars a day. Their representative. inform me of this as well as my claim adjuster. The representative being to tell me about their insurance and how it would cover any damages for 17 dollars a day it would cover up to the 4th of April. That's when my insurance company would have to renew my rental. So I signed up for there insurance which was for the until the 4th of April. April the 4th arrivals and a another representative calls me tell me now that I would have to call my insurance company to renew my rental or I would be paying out of pocket. So I called my adjuster from my insurance company renewed my rental while I was on the phone with them. Unbeknownst to me.Until April the 16th. When I got a charge on my bank card of $240 from Enterprise. I called my insurance company to find out why Enterprise was charging me this. At that time Enterprise was close for the day . I will waited to next day go to Enterprise to find out why Enterprise let me know that I should have read the contract and I was being charged for $240 because of the their insurance and their was no way I was getting my money back. I stated to the same representative, that was there on the first day, which was April the first. I said to her you didn't tell me about any extra you made me believe it was on only until April 4th. Then representative. Tells me that I should have read myi'm tracked but she never made it plain to me that this was being done. Yes I said something to her I should have never said. In no way shape or form perform I am excuse my behavior because yes I was all the way wrong. IS THIS HOW THIS ENTERPRISE DOES BUSINESS ? IT'S VERY INEXCUSABLE, A THEY DO NOT INFORM PEOPLE OF ANY EXTRA THEY'RE PAYING FOR UNTIL THEY TAKE THEIR MONEY. THEY DO NOT GIVE THEM THE FULL BREAKDOWN UNTIL THEY TAKE THEIR MONEY AND I'M QUITE SURE THIER ARE OTHERS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING. read more

Pros: - The process was quick. Cons: - The van was dirty. Only the front seats were cleaned. The employee never gave us a "walk around" the vehicle. When I was at the first stop light I turned around to check out the back and noticed that there was an open bag of chips, some goldfish crackers, a few stray m&ms, something that looked like dried caramel & somebody's hair comb. We were offered a refund of our $40 "fuel service fee" for the inconvenience. A fee that was never mentioned to us and that we shouldn't have been charged to begin with... we picked the van up with a half a tank of gas and returned it ¾ full. - When we asked about a military discount, they said no. But when my husband stopped there later on, he overheard somebody else getting a 10% military discount (different employee). So I guess it depends on which employee is there at the time. - My husband forgot his phone holder in the van. When he called about an hour after returning the van the employee said he had it and we could stop by to pick it up. Drove 20 minutes over there only to find out he didn't actually have it. Why waste our time like that and pretend that you found it while on the phone with us? Overall not a good experience. We will avoid this location from now on. We never had an issue with the one up the road. Reading the other reviews, I guess we should consider ourselves lucky that we got the van at all. read more

Since I have no where else to rant about my disappointment, I guess I will turn to yelp reviews. Long story short I made made very important business plans for labor day weekend and I needed to rent a car for a week. My local Enterprise had a vehicle available in my price range so I called the local branch to set up a reservation. I spoke with the representative about my needs and made a reservation for a several days later. I have had trouble renting cars in the past because I don't use or have a traditional credit card. The customer service representative "Jeff" his name was assured me that there would be no problems. I even had them transfer me to a manager so i could confirm that my prepaid debit card would be valid, to which which they both ensured me that it would and that there would be a 250$ security deposit. With this confirmation, I proceeded to order materials, and rent a venue for a labor day weekend performance, ( I promote music artist). On the day of my reservation I called the local Enterprise branch to let them know I was on the way. This is when they dropped the ball on me and told me that No' I could not use my debit card unless I had two utility bills with my name on it (Im a college student renting a room none of the bills are in my name), and also would need to have my own car insurance for a prepaid card to be valid. So, several hundred dollars spent to rent DJ equipment and a venue down the drain, because now I have no transportation to DC from Salisbury MD. All because the Enterprise employees were either incompetent and were not aware of their own rules, or because they just wanted to lead me on for the potential business, either way my disappointment can barely be put into words. I will never again attempt to use Enterprise, and I am writing this as a warning to others so that they don't have to go through the same experience that I just did. read more

Each time I have to rent a vehicle the staff at Enterprise ( South Salisbury Md. ) Mr. Charles Hall and Ms. Ashley N. Clergeau have been very professional, always on point and very reliable!! They do a great job and I am very satisfied with their service! read more

They just changed managers. The one from N Salisbury location has permanently moved to the S Salisbury location. Not sure if business was always doing so good at this location. But with her attitude not sure they will see much of an IMPROVEMENT. Her attitude really is piss poor and stinks! In addition to that before the change It was always a good feeling to come into the establishment and see people and faces that look like me. Now that atmosphere is gone. They are not customer or user friendly. Enterprise in general has piss poor outdated policy's within it's self and should be boycotted. read more

Enterprise basically works the same as TicketMaster. Advertise something for a reasonable price and pile on charges on the back end. I rented a car for $24.99/day, I didn't have insurance in my name. The woman told me they would need a $150 deposit for insurance. After going over the details (quickly) I signed where I was supposed to sign and was on my way. When I dropped off the car I was told that I would only be getting $18 of my deposit back because of all the fees. I left with a sour taste but it wasn't until I got home that it hit me. Why did I leave a deposit when these fees are pre-calculated and tacked on? Why did she tell me I was going to get it back when I wasn't? Why didn't she mention anything about these fees when I rented the car? How did a $25/day rental turn into $75/day? I talked to customer service who connected me with the branch manager. I stressed that while I understand the fees that I felt information was kept from me and that I was lied to. She basically told me that everything was my fault and nothing could be done. read more

Because I can't give it zero stars!!!! I reserved a car 2 weeks before vacation through the Enterprise website. (Their own site! Not some side site.) The day I'm scheduled to pick up the car I confirm my reservation 4 hours before I'm suppose to pick up the car. Get there to pick up car and I'm told all the cars have been rented out. I report my discussed to the Enterprise Facebook page. I get asked for all the information andI even sent a screenshot of the reservation. Was told the regional manager for the store would be contacting me. 4 days later.... Still nothing. Whatever happened to customer service? They did call the store on the Northside. Was told their cars were all reserved...... Oh so they actually hold their reservations. read more

I have used enterprise several times in the past when traveling. Normally I don't have any issues and the employees are very friendly. This specific location did not live up to my expectations. When I first arrived to pick up the rental car, no one was behind the front desk but there were 2 employees sitting at desks, one was on the phone, the other at a computer. The one just sitting at the computer did not get up to help and so I waited for the women to finish on the phone, which was fine, not a big deal. However, I had to wait 30 minutes for my car to be ready. I guess they had someone wash the car but as the guy who washed the car was "giving" the car keys to the women at the desk he threw them at her, yes THREW them. She did not catch them and they landed right in front of my feet. I bent down to pick them up and told him not to worry that I would pick them up and told him how professional I thought it was to throw keys at your customers (sarcasm, yes.) After waiting for half an hour and having objects thrown at me, I received my rental car which was still dripping wet from being hosed down and smelled of cigarette smoke. Horrible customer service. The company is fine but the staff at the south location were horrible. at 12pm on a Friday I reserved a rental and asked to be picked up at 4pm from my house, I called the company after they were an hour late and was told that no one had relayed my message and since all drivers were gone I would have to pick up my rental the next day since they were closing or i could come down to the office before they close in the next 15 minutes. read more
