Our family, driving adventure was enhanced by the service we experienced at every interactive point;Beginning with the Manager of the local Enterprise leasing office in Fishermans wharf, San Francisco, to the wonderful and patient woman who checked out our vehicle, all points of contact went smoothly. Our vehicle performed well throughout the hundreds of miles of terrain including Shoreline to Yosemite. The vehicle was comfortable and contained multiple suitcases without incident. After seven days, the return experience at San Diego airport Went smoothly and efficiently. I'm pretty upset that I opted out of their $39 toll service and chose to pay the tolls myself online. A week later, I received a bill from Dollar Rental charging me $39.98 for a toll. The actual toll was $19.98, but they added an additional $19.98 "convenience fee"...how convenient. read more

This enterprise reservation was made through Costco, which we've had no issues with before. To begin the reservation I checked in about 40 minutes after the initial requested time, which was made a month and a half prior. When arriving for pick up, they said the car would be an additional 20 minutes until it was ready for pick up due to transporting the vehicle from another location and they would call us when ready. After an hour+ it took me coordinating and contacting them to try and find out where our vehicle was and required being picked up two hours late. During our travels, unfortunately we had a flat tire in a remote location. The vehicle was a 2024 Jeep compass, which apparently enterprise does not have a replacement tire or equipment stocked in the vehicle. We reached out to the original rental location who forwarded us to roadside assistance through enterprise. We spent six hours waiting for a replacement vehicle or a service to replace the tire. While we were in a remote location, it was certainly accessible to have these services completed, I was told each time by roadside assistance to keep calling to check on a status update, there was never a consistent answer or plan as to how this was going to be resolved with calling every 30-60 minutes. Ultimately, we called a local tire company ourselves and paid for the tire replacement to be completed in town. When returning the vehicle to the Medford airport, they were very accommodating in reaching out and trying to resolve the issue and assured the expenses were covered. after further discussion, they stated the original rental agency would be reaching out to rectify the situation and compensate us for the tire that was paid for ourselves. We are still waiting to hear back from enterprise in order to resolve the issue. Warning to all future car renters-- it is no longer standard for a rental vehicles to come with a spare tire and equipment to change a tire, and roadside assistance does not make your service needs a priority when this occurs. A very simple task turned into chaos for no reason other than a company cutting corners on safety. read more

Recently my friend and I moved into a home in San Francisco and had to travel from Las Vegas with a car full of belongings. Due to traffic and bad timing, we had to return the car to Enterprise at the time we'd scheduled before we were able to completely unload our things. Upon arriving at the facility, we explained this and all of the staff present at the time was more than eager to help us. Not only did they help schedule us a taxi, but they drove us to a drop off spot to more easily and efficiently unload our things out of the way of traffic. They even helped us unload and repack the taxi, a task that was in no way expected of them. We did not ask for their help with any of this, they took it upon themselves to genuinely care for their customers and make sure we had a safe and positive SF Enterprise experience. I've always rented through Enterprise because I like their service and today was no exception. Liam was so helpful and friendly, we checked in and out in less than five minutes, even when we needed to add me as a driver. The gentleman waiting to get us our car was also very friendly and gave us a choice on the SUV we wanted. We ended up with a Jeep Grand Cherokee, which was really nice. We had hoped to rent a convertible but they didn't have any available. The office did double check for us, but our Jeep has the big sunroof so good enough! Just note that the office is in the parking garage to the left, follow the white crosswalk. Once you check in, you head up to the 9th level in the parking garage to pick up your car. read more

I hardly ever have a good experience at rental cars because of their poor customer service. However, I have to say this location has one of the best customer services. Derritt helped us and we got a SUV for five people but the car was too uncomfortable. We came back and ask if we could please switch and Derrit had no problem in helping us find something more comfortable. I would highly recommend this place. Returned a car at the enterprise in Folsom and the people working there are rude and not helpful at all. So to get Derrit helped us here was amazing. read more

The worst rental car experience I ever had. Almost criminal. I had some important business meetings in the San Francisco area and needed to rent a car. I had used this Enterprise once or twice before and knew the location, so I decided to grab a hotel in Fisherman's Wharf after my flight Sunday night and walk over to pick up the car Monday morning. In the past, the cars I were given were dirty and smelly and covered in sap. But, I went here so I could save a parking charge at the hotel if I picked up the car at the airport after my flight. What a mistake to rent from here! I called the office DIRECTLY to make sure everything was all set with my corporate account 2 weeks before and made a reservation with a female who worked in the office. I asked her to send me an email confirmation and she told me should couldn't do that ... they do not send out email confirmations. What year is this? 1999? So, I had her fax a sheet to my office, which had a handwritten price quote/confirmation on it. (apparently the whole 'computer thing' hasn't caught on yet in this office. I wonder if they still use beepers?) I had reserved a $37 per day rate for an economy car, which was STILL higher than Fox Rental Car's and other airport locations. When I arrived to pick up the car, the person behind the desk told me that the rate would be almost $80 per day for an economy car! That is over DOUBLE what the airport locations charge! I NEVER would have agreed to $80 for an economy car ... that is more than a convertible or SUV would have cost at Fox Rental Car at the SF Airport. They swore to me that was the corporate rate my company had even though I was the one who called to set up the $37 rate weeks before. To prove them wrong, I made a mock reservation through Enterprise.com on my smartphone right there at the counter with NO DISCOUNTS at all applied. The rate I got making the reservation on my cell phone with no discount was $10 per day CHEAPER than the $80 rate they say I made using my corporate discount weeks before. I told them it was crazy to assume I'd make a reservation on the phone WITH THEIR OFFICE that was $30 more than my company authorizes me to spend on a car per day ... and that was less than their online rate WITHOUT any corporate discount applied. LIARS. They told me to give them a copy of the fax and they would honor the reservation. I told them it was at my purchasing office in Massachusetts and they said there was nothing they could do. Nobody at the office could locate the fax with the handwriting on the cover sheet. They think it was thrown out because it looked like a cover sheet with handwriting on it. They said they probably figured I had an email confirmation with it being the year 2013 and everything. Not at THIS Enterprise! So I ended up having to do a TON of paperwork explaining to a governmental agency why I spent $40 per day more on a car than we know we are authorized to spend. When I turned in the receipt, our accountant said, '$80! What did you upgrade to a convertible or something?' At that point, I was stuck at Fisherman's Wharf and it would have been a $30 ride to get to the airport so I could rent from a cheaper agency. My advice is DO NOT USE THIS OFFICE AT FISHERMAN'S WHARF. If you must use Enterprise, do it through the airport. If you have flexibility, use Fox Rental Car ... it is legit the cheapest car rental agency in San Francisco (they are at the airport so its legit) and the cars are much nicer. The Fisherman's Wharf Enterprise office is disorganized, dishonest and sloppy. Not only was I over charged by DOUBLE what I was quoted ... the car smelled and was all dinged up. They also gave the car to me with a half tank of gas which is BS because by the law of averages, you have a 50% chance of returning the car with more gas than it had when you left. And if you return it with under, they make you pay $8 per gallon. They also charge you a $3 convenience fee on top of what you pay for the Golden Gate toll for using their transponder because the Golden Gate is cash free toll only. I will also add, my company used this incident as a reason to switch from Enterprise to another rental car agency for ALL of our travel in all cities. Congratulations Enterprise Fisherman's Wharf branch ... you caused your company to lose the frequent business of a company that rents cars for weeks and often months at a time for a large sales force by your disorganization and upcharging. Avoid this dump and rent through the airport. There is ZERO customer service here. My advice to this office is to hire someone over 20 years old to run your office ... and being so close to Sillicon Valley look into this thing called a 'computer' which makes business a lot easier. read more

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE!!!! My sister and I just picked up our Toyota Sienna just 25 minutes ago. Mind you we are local San Franciscans about to embark on a road trip with our kids. Get this, they are on Beach St by Fisherman's Wharf and I usually rent my vehicles at the airport but since I live 5 minutes away. Why not?!? Reservation is under my sister's name but in order to go through the process with a debit card you've got to have proof of address, bill etc so I switched to mine since I had just a credit card. That was negative 1 point! Got to the roof and they only have one Sienna available. Imagine that, you cater to tourists all over the world and you have one Sienna whereas other rental places have more than one to select from. Marked all the dings and what not, I opened the van door and to my surprise it smelled and was filthy. They did not clean the interior nor did they wash the car. I am going to get my buck worth with this one! She went down and spoke to her manager and all they could do is knock half a tank of gas off upon return! Serious! Took the van down to see what they could do and they had nothing to clean the inside with so they power wash the exterior which made no sense. This is going to be the very last time we will give business to them. When you have people that reserved a car in advance, it should be all washed and cleaned inside and out. Our kids including ourselves are much cleaner than this. I rather go rent a vehicle in the Tenderloin downtown area than this place! Mark my words! Zero stars if I could. Disgusted... Poor customer service. When I came in the assistant manager Jessica made it like seem like it was an inconvenience to assist me. I saw her make a face at a customer about my car being damaged because I just had an accident (which is why I was there and my insurance sent me) She rolled her eyes. I had a bad enough day that day and I really didn't need that. Then when I nice young man who worked there tried to assist me she told him to let her handle it because it's too complicated for him. She said all this in front of customers waiting. When I called back to have them pick my rental car up from the auto body shop she answered and said that they don't pick cars up from body shops. I called another Enterprise (550 Turk Street, Awesome and Polite people by the way) and they said of course they will come and get and they had no idea what Jessica was talking about. This review is for Alamo car rental which is out of the same management office / location. Scam fees and very poor service. When I arrived to pick up the car, the guy who checkin me in could not see the screen or the keyboard of the computer - he kept getting really close to the screen and then inches away as he typed things into the keyboard. He kept "validating" details of my reservation and they were wrong because he kept reading them incorrectly. I then find out the insurance booked on Expedia didn't cover everything so Alamo charged additional insurance fees that basically doubled the total price of my reservation. Then I go to the roof of the parking garage to pick up my car. The valet guy said we have to go together to fill up the tank so he drives the car I'm renting to a gas station and fills up the tank. Only he kept the car running and took forever to fill up the tank. He was also low key hitting on me which was very uncomfortable. I return the car on a Monday when the office is closed. The following Thursday they call me saying there's all this damage to the car asking me what happened. I did not damage the car nor was there damage when I left the car. Extremely sketchy overall - I usually use Zipcar and will from now on stick with their service instead. read more

I signed up to get their emails because I know this location is very overpriced. So I just waited until I received a coupon code and then made my reservation. I reserved a Nissan Altima for $39/day. I picked up the car on a Wednesday morning and the place was empty. Allie was very friendly and helpful. She offered to upgrade me to a mid size SUV for no extra charge but I declined. I was in and out in 15 minutes. When I returned the car, Clarence was there to help me. He explained how to go online and pay the Golden Gate Bridge toll. Enterprise will pay the bridge toll for you but charge you a $3.95 service fee on top of the bridge toll if you don't go online and pay it yourself. You have 48 hrs to pay it before they charge you. Overall, I had a great experience. Maybe because I went on an off day or at an off time. Customer service was top notch. read more

Mark and Jordie in particular. They should be commended and given the proper shout out to management for their excellence. I was the victim of a car accident the day before Thanksgiving and only now just got my vehicle back from the auto body (yes that means I was without a car for more than 2months!) My experience with CSAA claims was awful from day one. Having your team of staff was a breath of fresh air! They promptly returned calls, were always ethical and professional in their communication and followed through. No matter who I interacted with for whatever reason the experience was excellent and often exceeded my expectations. Most importantly they seemed to genuinely care. They were actual humans, not just cogs in a large organization. I really needed to see that beacon of light in humanity in this post pandemic world where everything is just slightly less than what I expect and experience most of the time. We were planning on going to Monterey for the weekend so we rented a car for 2 days. This Enterprise Rent-A-Car location was one the of the only rental car companies in the city that let you do Sunday returns. We booked online which was really easy and you got to choose what kind of car you'd like. We picked up the car on Saturday morning and filled out the paperwork and were given a Chevy Malibu - definitely one of the better options (at least compared to a Bug!). The staff at Enterprise were nice and informative. Everything went really smoothly and returning the car the next evening was really easy. I walked in for my appointment to find about 8 people seated with defeated looks on their faces, phone ringing, and an empty counter. 20 minutes later someone acknowledged me and checked me in. And that's where the waiting game continued... Meanwhile, I overheard a couple being told that their reserved vehicle was out of stock (reminds me of a familiar Seinfeld episode). Then it came to my turn, and the same thing happened. I had reserved a compact car but instead was given the choice of 3 SUVs. And no, it's not an upgrade to have to drive a giant, gas sucking vehicle. The car had not been washed, and the tank was not filled. On the way out I overheard a guy wanting to take advantage of the complimentary shuttle...he was told it was not available. This was the cheapest option for a 1 day Saturday rental in SF, at 64 dollars with taxes and no insurance, which is overpriced but still the cheapest. P.S. the times are wrong on the Yelp page. I've been a member for the last 2-3 years and I've always gone to this location vs. the other Enterprise in the city. It's nice to see a familiar face, Vicky, who also recognizes me. Also helps that I'm often using Enterprise every month. In the last few months the service changed since other car rental companies merged on this location e.g. Alamo, Budget. So instead of the getting the car outside the office door (after you've paid on the front desk), you are to go up the garage elevator to the top floor where another staff will help you. Services goes as: You book your car (via app or call), you go to the office to confirm and purchase (credit card only, valid driver's ID), up the elevator to the staff with your car, car inspection for knicks and scratches, sign via staff's tablet with options for insurance and that's it. Return wise, if the main office on the first floor is closed or is blocked off by other car returns, you're to drive up the top floor to park your car, take the elevator back down and drop the keys on the DROP KEYS shoot. I've never had any issues and the cars themselves are clean and ran well. Heads up to book cars days before any holidays given they run out fast. read more
