They assured us that the tires were fine but they didn't have anybody that could reset the tire warning light. We barely made it to lunch when we had a flat tire. They wanted to charge us $125 to come change it even though we'd only had the car for 2 hours so we changed it ourself. Thank God there was a spare. When we returned the car the next morning for our flight they said that WE damaged the tire and charged us $210 for a new tire and to put it on. Refused to let us see the tire damage. Easy online app rental in San Juan @ Condado Plaza, convenient to the Hilton Caribe. They do not deliver to the Caribe Hilton however, they do allow drop off on the fifth level parking deck in the enterprise parking spaces. The key drop is inside the hotel at the concierge's car rental desk. The KIA SUV was fine and in good condition. We realized we left a wallet in the car after we had dropped the car key in the dropbox, and luckily one of the sales girls was headed home, and kindly stopped by to open the lock box for us. Thinking of renting a car in PR, this location made it easy! Ordered the car online, $52 (that included the tax!) It was just over the bridge from our hotel. It took about 15 minutes at the registration desk. Got the car, with a car seat (no charge) and off we went! Got us out of San Juan to experience a little more of PR. Returning the card- easy peasy! Here we found a long line of people waiting for their car to be prepared. We waited over 30 minutes and then just canceled and used Uber for the day. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE CROOKS. THEY ARE FRAUDSTERS. We rented from them in January. They claimed it had been damaged (conveniently underneath the car where it couldn't be seen and charged us $1300 for repairs). The car was absolutely not involved in any accident and spent most of the week in a guarded hotel parking garage. We asked for pictures before and after. What we got was pictures of a car being worked on in a garage - no timestamps and no evidence that we had caused the damage and not a previous or a subsequent renter nor even that it was our car. Furthermore, as you can see from the pictures, there is rust along the edges of where the purported damage was. It was not enough money to take them to court and, because my 27-year old daughter arrived before us, I made her the renter/driver. Rather than mess with her credit, I was extorted for the $1300. I filed a complaint in Puerto Rico but, given a bigger language barrier than one would expect for a US territory, I have no expectations of anything coming of that. This review is about the Enterprise operation at the Condado Plaza Hotel and the Alamo operation at the San Juan international airport (SJU). I am not the kind of person who typically posts reviews, but I feel compelled to do so because the customer service I experienced was so far above and beyond anything I would have expected. I would give at least 10 out of 5 stars. The rental pickup from Alamo at the airport was smooth as usual (and no line, compared to the very long line for another desk, which I think was Avis/Budget). On the last morning of my trip, the key fob for my car ceased to function. Unfortunately, the metal key that pulled out from the key fob was apparently for another vehicle, because it would not fit the locks to open my car. All of my stuff was locked in the trunk. Luckily, I happened to be parked very close to Enterprise's Condado Plaza location. First, one of the employees went out to her own car and brought in a new battery for the key fob. That one did not match, but they were able to find a key fob for one of their rental cars that had the right kind of battery. However, that did not work either, so we determined that the battery was not the issue. Another employee went out to the car with me and confirmed that the metal key would not open the door. They called the airport to see if they had a spare key fob for that car, but they did not. They then called for roadside assistance. When the roadside assistance truck arrived, they were able to get the car open so I could retrieve all my things from the trunk. The tow truck driver also gave me a ride to the airport when he towed the car there (Enterprise offered me a new car, but it was time for me fly home). When we got to the location where the car needed to be towed, another employee gave me a ride from there to the terminal. At the terminal, Alamo was also going to immediately put me in a new vehicle until I told them it was time for me to fly home. Then I discovered that my phone must have slipped out of my pocket while I was in the tow truck. I had no idea who the truck driver was, due to the language barrier between us, and I could not start making calls because I had no phone. However, the Alamo people at the airport called the Enterprise office and found out who the truck driver was, got a hold of the truck driver who confirmed that my phone was there, and sent an employee out to meet the truck driver and bring my phone back to the airport for me. This all took hours of effort, but every person who assisted me did it with their best effort, patience, and a smile. I was in the Enterprise office for a long time waiting for roadside assistance to arrive, and saw them provide excellent customer service to many other customers as well. I don't know all of the names, but Baleria at Enterprise was the person helping me most of the time (and I was further assisted by another female and a male there), Ideslie was the manager at Alamo who assisted me, and Roberernesto and Jose at Alamo helped as well, among others I did not get names for. Incredibly, Baleria and Ideslie did not even let me tip them, but they at least let me tip a couple of the drivers. I was blown away by the kindness and can-do attitudes of all of these wonderful people. Huge thank-yous to Enterprise at Condado Plaza and Alamo at SJU! read more

I was in PR for 3 months and I rented several times in the same location, the staff is very friendly specially Adalberto he is always very nice and professional. I never had a problem with any vehicle rented there, so I give a 5 start review to this location. the cars are always in good condition very clean and is easy to drop off if you want to return after hours. you just parking in the garage and drop the key in the box outside of the office. compare with others places that they overcharge you or take for ever to return your deposit money ,this is overall the best places to rent a car. This was the worst car rental experience we have had. There was no shuttle from the airport to the car rental location and no one answers the phone when trying to call. They close earlier than any other enterprise on the island and the staff when picking up the car was rude and unhelpful. We did not receive the car we rented and the car was full of stains on the seat and only had half a tank of gas but had to be returned with a full tank. Do not rent from this location! read more

I don't even know where to start. I picked up my car at the Enterprise in Condado Hotel. I was given an old car with dents and several bumper damages. They said they had no other cars. I drove from there 2 and a half hours to the western part of the island. I turned off the car, when I came back 30 minutes later the car wouldn't start. I called the enterprise where I rented from and since it was 4:45pm and they wanted to leave they told me my options were to be towed back to San Juan and then to drive back. I'm other words an 8 hour trip. The other option was to go to the enterprise in Aguadilla. I told them if they had cars. They told me they had a different system and id have to figure that out on my own and since the girl was leaving in 15 minutes it was evident she didn't care. Third option was to be towed to a pep boys. The towing company who has a contract with enterprise but are not employees helped me by calling enterprise in Aguadilla and finding out they had no cars. He was the only helpful one when no one at enterprise cared. I had to go to 2 pep boys to get the car working. They had to change the battery and the next day the service engine light came on. I'd never been to Puerto Rico and traveled half the island to fix their broken car and no one cared. I called enterprise customer service to complain. They connected me with a supposed manager named Angel Lugo. Although nice at the time he was extremely unhelpful in the long run. They charged me tolls for driving around the island to fix my car. They refunded me for the 2 wasted days and he seemed to think this was enough for the hassle I had to undergo. I told him I'd be traveling to Aguadilla in February for work and if he could help me in reserving a car. I had to keep calling and emailing him to receive a confirmation it had been done and I finally receive an email today telling me he reserved for the same place in condado. It was clear he didn't listen to me. We even discussed the other car rental companies in Aguadilla. Again he repeated he doesn't have access to enterprise Aguadilla system. How are you an area manager with no access and poor listening skills. Overall the experience with enterprise has been a nightmare. Use another company. Their lack of professionalism and apathy is appalling. read more

This review may be biased just because my friends and I got screwed and from the sounds of other reviews we may all sound like angry customers on a vengeance by giving 1 star but take these negative reviews as a lesson through another person's shoes. Honestly, I would have given them 5 stars initially. Price was decent. Service I thought was great until we had to deal with our issue. Convenient since it was just below our hotel. Perfect set up! Had no issues with the car, it was a Mazda Yaris. Small, but perfect for our trips that brought us to El Yunque all the way to Fajardo. When we were picking up our car, the assistant manager told us we can leave the car in the adjacent parking where they usually store their cars. Perfect, so we wouldn't have to pay 1 extra day of parking. BE WARNED; DON'T LEAVE YOUR CAR IN THERE!!!!! We woke up to a rude call from their manager saying that we left a HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE dent in the car. Basically the tail light and back bumper was hit in the parking lot. And no it wasn't a little scratch, the bloody light was broken and the damn bumper looked like it was going to fall off. FOL (F*CK OUR LIVES) 1. the stupid parking lot is shared and has no cameras even though someone babysits the parking lot all night. Nobody will contest of course. I see how it issssss you got your homies backs... I'm sure Enterprise is giving you a profit cut using your parking spaces. I tried slipping them a Washington so they can talk in our defense. But nope... didn't buy it. lol 2. They said, when you drop off your keys (at the stupid drop off, on the bloody side that of course we didn't look at) it says, "You're responsible for the car until someone checks it". Maybe the damn assistant manager should have bloody told us that. Ohhhh and to top it off the manager was telling us after the incident that "this happens a lot". THE $#*($#*(%*$#(%*$#%($ would be nice if you bloody warned us about that, no for real....would have been dandy. Seriously, FOL FOL FOL. Ugh not something you want to deal with right before you leave on a jet plane back home. Definitely doesn't make me want to come back again. I seriously told them if they appreciate their customers to warn them. How can you tell me when we have to pay an extra $500 that the cars commonly get hit in a parking lot. Warn people that the parking lot of shared is not actually owed by enterprise. You workers are not the owners so why do you give a $hit about the $500 you gained? Will you be getting a bonus? I rented a car here for two days- people at this office were all very friendly, and especially Sergio and Maria offered us a big help as to where to go and what to do in our destinations. Their advice helped us a lot. We got maps and a guidebook. The car was almost brandnew and in great condition. Paperwork was simple and quick. I found it very convenient that the car has something like a electronic pass installed, so we did not have to stop at a toll station at all. read more

Handed the keys over to the guy who worked the return station at the time and headed to my gate. After going through TSA, enterprise gave me a call saying I "did not" return the key. This might be the best rental company at the airport but it's really not that great. Mind you, the service you receive when leaving the airport is pretty good. They help you find the car, even "upgrade you" to a better one. What they don't tell you are the toll fees. The lady said if we use the toll, we get charged 3.65 every new day + whatever the fee of the toll is. Fine. When I finally got the bill, there was also an additional $16 service charge on top of all the charges. They should be more informative and honest about charges. read more

I had to return this car early because one of the tires was dangerously defective. It had bumps and bruises. I would've had to wait a long time for a replacement since they had a long line of people with reservations. The store manager admitted as much. Even though I only used the car for 4 1/2 days they charged me for the full week and would not give me a credit. They also accused me of causing the damage myself which I certainly did not do. Be aware if renting a vehicle from Enterprise in Puerto Rico for two days. The car they gave us was infested with cockroaches. Unfortunately we didn't see them when we picked up the vehicle, they stated to come out at night. We drove outside the city and were not able to drive back to return it the same evening. We almost got into a couple of accidents as some come out while driving on the highway. We requested reimbursement for the two days but only got one. They should be penalized for such poor quality in the cleaning. Will never consider Enterprise again. read more

I had a great experience at the Enterprise adjacent to the Condado Plaza. I needed a large vehicle (big enough to fit a family of 5) for a couple of days. Danny was extremely helpful in not only getting me a great vehicle (new Jeep Wrangler), but also helped us plan an itinerary of places to visit during our trip to PR. Concierge and sales rep all in one! We received a great rate, great service, and a fun vehicle to drive (you can remove the roof panels from the Wrangler, which turns it into a Jeep convertible - how cool is that!). At the end of the trip we were running late and had to return the car about an hour after it was due. We called ahead and they gave us instructions on how to return after hours, and even waived any fees for the extra time - we were very grateful for their gesture. Thanks to Danny and the rest of the team for making our rental experience a great one. I used to work in corporate at a competing car rental service, so I often rented cars both for work and leisure. I got overcharged for gas at this location. The lady at the counter charged me for 3/4 tank of gas. I told her that our gas gauge was only missing 1 tick as we barely drove the car. She smugly gave me the keys and asked me check it myself. I went to check and snapped a photo as proof of how much gas was left. I showed the photo to her, then she told the manager that I have a photo (in Spanish). She then changed the charge on my account. No apology was given. read more

They need to clone him or hire someone to help him right away. Also, there is absolutely no reason that it should take 30 minutes to rent a car. With Hertz, my car is waiting for me when I arrive. I show my ID, get my keys, and I'm off in less than 5 minutes. No need to deal with the pesky walkthrough, documenting every miniscule scratch and ding. With Enterprise, despite my online reservation, the process took forever. I will definitely choose another company on my next visit. read more

I'm so middle of the road on this, but I'm going to have to lean toward the "not so great" side. The convenience of the location is perfect if you're staying in any of the Ashford Ave. resorts of which we were staying at both Conrad (which is where Enterprise is located) and right down the street at La Concha. I had made our reservation for 3:30pm so that we would have more than enough time to get to a dinner about 40 miles away. When I walked into the tiny office, they told me it would be a few minutes so I sat and waited....and waited....and waited. 30 minutes later I was told it would be just a few minutes because they needed to clean the car out from the previous renter (kind of a crock of crap since we found a half eaten chicken sandwich in the center console the next day). I had been upgraded by my credit card company to a sedan from an economy so with 4 people and luggage, I wasn't about to argue that it was taking too long, we needed this bigger car. The car itself was fine, a Mazda 3 if you really care to know. We did the walk around inspection and then worked out insurance. My insurance did not cover me in Puerto Rico so we had to sign for the Enterprise coverage. Sure, it doubled the cost of the rental, but if you've ever complained about NJ drivers, you don't even know what you're getting yourself into driving in PR. I am an overly cautious yet defensive driver...aggressive when necessary, but only to protect myself. Driving in Puerto Rico gave me a greater appreciation for almost every other asshole on the road back at home, and so with my life flashing before my eyes multiple times on the highway, I just thanked my lucky stars that we were smart enough to pay for the extra coverage. I think something that would really help this company out is if they had some sort of partnership with the resorts for discounted parking. There is virtually nowhere to park in the area without feeding a meter, and given that you're renting from the Conrad property, you would think there might be a place to keep the car without having to put it in the garage. $15/night minimum depending on your hotel in addition to your rental is just all sorts of insane. So story in short...convenient, yes. Cost/parking/efficiency, not so much. There's an Avis right down the street on Ashford, not sure their reputation, but I would be willing to give them a shot next time I'm in the area needing a rental. read more

Well Enterprise felt 1 employee is adequate to fulfill what I can see as 30+ people waiting. Update: they apologized for the wait and ended up being a lot better from that point on after we needed to extend our rental another day. When we first called they were very pleasant and told us all we had to do was call the following morning and they would come get us... fast forward to the next day: we called for pickup and they told us we should have made a reservation because they were booked at the time we needed. So we picked a different time. When the pickup service was an hour late we tried calling the office. No answer. Our hotel called as well.. no pickup. Very dissatisfied. Had to arrange different for alternate transportation. Very unprofessional. Arrived to the rental office to find that only one person was working. Great service, friendly staff, more than accommodating. I highly recommend!!! I made a reservation after our tour bus stood us up and picked up our rental car a few hours later. We were an hour late dropping our car off the next day with no problem. Instead of taking us back to our hotel they dropped us off in Old San Juan as we asked. They gave us maps, driving directions, and lots of advice. They took pictures of me and my girlfriend in our rental. Super great experience, next time I'm in San Juan I'll be coming here on the first day to rent a car from them. Thanks Enterprise!!! FYI: You need to find parking which can be tricky. However, if your hotel has it, it would have been cheaper for us to rent a car and pay for parking every day we were in PR instead of taxiing it around. Just a thought!
