Usually we drive to my wife's parents house for the holidays, but this time we flew, so we needed to rent a car for activities my wife had planned with her best friend on Friday after the holidays. Not many places had rentals available for Friday that were close to her house but they did here which is 6 minutes away from where my wife's parents live. The person assisting, that set up the rental was really friendly and set up the whole thing relatively fast (I say relatively because it had a lot more paperwork than my other rentals) but I was disappointed that they needed to verify my licence because it was out of state as they claimed. I rent with competitors all over the US and never had them ask for that. So that added an extra 10 minutes to the set up time. They gave me a vehicle which was the same as the model I rented the previous week when I was on business trip. Over all the car was in good condition and only 17k miles on it, but it did not have adaptive cruise control even though I asked if it did before I got the car that it had this because it's normally a must feature for me (the model from the previous week did, so I guess this was the less costly model) especially for drives longer than an hour. The car only had cruise control, not adaptive cruise control and if any of you have used adaptive you will know how big of a difference that makes. Also the blind spot monitoring on the driver side would go off a lot so more often than not when I would change to the left lane it would beep if I used my blinker and try to keep me in lane if I didn't use the blinker. Features I love when they work right and absolutely hate when they aren't working. Upon returning it took about half an hour to drop off the car because they were really busy and only had 2 people working which assuming they have been around for over a year, they should know how busy they get that day and have extra people working. Overall not bad l, but it won't be my first choice in the future. and you want to be people's first choice in this business.. read more

Karen, I went to the website you gave and I get a chat bot that asks to rate my experience and then disconnects you. The staff at 6381 amboy road are very professional but if you make a reservation for a small suv on friday for the following Monday at 9 am one would think the vehicle would be there. Not make me wait until 11 am. And then the payment system was down so they had to make a physical paper copy of my credit card which I did not like one bit to be floating around. When the suv arrived we looked at it to check for marks but it was very difficult because the cars exterior was filthy. Even when I commented on how filthy it was - no one offered to at least give it a quick rinse. This is not the first time this has happened to me or some friends who have rented from this location. Yet there are 6 beautiful vehicles on the lot that you can't rent. But at 9 am I was offered a pick up truck. None of this makes any sense. read more

Once again my car was rear ended by someone who was texting while driving and I was without a car for about 10 days. After fighting with the drivers insurance I was able to get a rental from Enterprise without it costing me a dime. The guys over at enterprise are super friendly and quick when it comes to the whole booking process. They answered all of my questions that I had and called to check up on things halfway through the rental. They also picked me up from my house to bring me to their location and dropped me off at home once I returned the car. This time they put me into a brand new and extremely clean Nissan Frontier which is a cheaply made pickup with less than 1000 miles on it. I'm not a fan of Nissan but the rental experience itself was great. read more

Worst car rental i've ever been too!! Office was dirty, manager was rude! I was assured my rental would be ready and would meet me at the repair shop, didnt happen! Tried to push a Toyota to me that was dirty, scratched up and had faded paint!! The inside of the car, rear seats looked like someone had sex in it and had stained the seat wit seaman! Staff was predominantly African American, I AM HISPANIC, and they racially profiled me!!! The 2 white customers were given clean newer cars, but not me!! I was given the older more worn out vehicle!! Make sure you check your bank account! I was charged $200 for a rental that was supposed to be covered by insurance. Apparently I was only covered by insurance for 2 days, when I had to have the car for 5 days. The adjuster never called to extend the time I needed the car and Enterprise never informed me of this either. Thankfully I happened to notice the charge. This lack of communication between Enterprise, insurance, and the body shop was unreal. I was never informed of a 2 day limit by the adjuster, nor did I ever sign anything that allowed Enterprise to take that much money from my account. It was just, "here's your car, the claim was reopened and will cover the cost, we'll call you when your car is ready." The agreement I signed also clearly states that Geico (w/insurance claim number) will be billed. I signed for a $50 deposit, that was it. Francesca was a lot of help, thankfully. She understood my frustration, was super nice, and refunded me the $200. She called me again to let me know she got to speak with the insurance company and was going to refund my $50 deposit as well. Relief! However... when I later checked my account I noticed that I was charged another $200 and not credited the $50! You can't make this up, I swear I felt like I was being put on. I called Enterprise back and spoke with another person. She says, "ohhh, I see that you were supposed to receive $250 back but were accidentally charged another $200". Yes.... that's right. You've now taken $450 out of my account in the past 4 days. Thankfully I'm ahead of my finances and keep a decent amount in my checking at all times for situations like these. But this is just plain careless and a huge inconvenience for me. How you can accidentally charge someone an additional $200 after all of that? Car was great, Francesca has the patience of a saint, but this experience really turned me off. I wouldn't use this location again if I were given a choice. read more

I had the "privilege" of dealing with Enterprise (Geico choice) when I got rear ended and my car was being repaired. First of all, they claim to be disinfecting all of their vehicles due to COVID which is not the case here. There were smears all over the windshield, a handprint on the sunroof, a Myle wrapper on the floor in the back, and even a used and leaking Myle vape in the rear arm rest (which I left right where it was because I don't know who's mouth it has been in). They obviously did not thoroughly clean, let alone, "disinfect" the vehicle. Secondly, I got the vehicle at 1/2 tank and I was told to return it with 1/2 a tank. I had no idea when my car will ready for pickup. So, the night before I returned the rental, I ended up filling the tank to full, thinking that I would still be using the car for the next few days. Given that they charge you way over regular gas prices if you return the rental with less gas than you picked it up with, I figured maybe, just maybe, they will be nice enough to credit me the extra 1/2 tank which I put in their vehicle. Like the lady in the repair shop told me, I contacted Enterprise to see how I can go about getting some of my money back. Well apparently that part of their policy only goes one way; they will get their money by charging you $3.39 per gallon to refuel the car when gas prices now are only $2.20 per gallon but they will not, under any circumstances, refund you the money for the gas which you put into their cars. Consider it a gift! Judging by the other reviews, I will probably be seeing some kind of unauthorized charge from them in a couple of days. read more

I rented a car from Enterprise in Princess Bay in Staten Island, and as in the past it was a hassle-free, pleasant, and fast experience. The only thing that wasn't great was that 20 minutes after I left Enterprise I received an unsolicited and unwanted phone call (on my cell no less), from a car dealership in Metuchen, NJ. They said that I had apparently mentioned casually, in passing, in the rental office that I was considering replacing my car. As they say maybe it's me- but is this what each of us can expect in today's business environment. Is everybody everywhere turning into human Alexas? Along with the actual Alexas? Invading our privacy and then pestering us in order to separate us from our money. I'm not a chronic complainer but this is completely unacceptable. Do not think that you can share my phone number, with or without compensation, unless I specifically give you my permission. read more

Rented a SUV from the remote location located at Straightline autobody on aurthur kill road. they gave me the keys to the only available car they had left , I opted in for the extra insurance which was a mistake this is a charge per day fee with 20% tax included the also double charged my credit card $250 + 250 =500 when I called my cc co to dispute this they tried contacting them and had no luck. I will still dispute the charges they also are charging me extra for what the insurance company wouldn't cover , I was told there would be NO extra charge and don't worry. they will not talk to me over the phone for more than 60 seconds to tell me they are busy and will look into it and call me back. they never call back. read more

The experience I had dealing with this location was quite pleasant when I rented a car. The staff were very young and capable. I don't remember the name of the associate, but she was great to deal with and got me into the car that I wanted. Downfall I returned the car to find out they charged me 100.00 dollars more than I agreed to pay. (They fixed it after 20 minutes of discussion) My transponder did not register a toll. I called immediately and was told to call within 7 days of receiving a citation letter to straighten it out or a full toll price plus an administrative fee will be assessed. The letter went to my old address. I called 8 days later because my mail was forwarded and I received it today. This is the umpteenth time this has happened. I must have rented 20-30 times with Enterprise since moving 5 years ago, always giving my new address which is on my license. I had to spend another 20 minutes on the phone with the Enterprise violation number. They waived the administration fee but still charged me 9.50 more than I normally pay for the toll. Hopefully, someday, they will get this right. All in all, I would still rent from them again. read more

So.. Where to start.. I got into a minor fender bender not my fault I swear!! I brought my car to Barry's to be fixed which they did a great job anyway They had a rep from this enterprise there to assist me to get into a rental. I wasn't paying the other guy was but they told me I needed to give a credit card and they would put a 50 dollar authorization just in case. I said okay I got home to find they charged 150 dollars to my card. I called right away and checked it a couple days later and they switched it to a 50 charge. They told me it would be just an authorization hold way different!! Well I brought the car back to Barry's like they told me to on Tuesday and they charged Geico till Thursday when they decided to go pick it up and the 50 dollar Charge is still on my card. They still haven't taken it off.. THEY ARE THE BIGGEST SCAMMERS! Don't give them your credit card!! Now I have to dispute the charge... To top it off the cars not in good conditions they are falling apart. read more

I recently got a rental car from this Enterprise for three weeks. The customer service was great. They got in touch with me immediately after my insurance company set it up. I was able to get in and out of there quickly. And the car return was a great experience too. I would have given them 5 stars if the interior of the windshield didn't need to be cleaned by us (there was some kind of strange sticky film on it) and the car only had a quarter tank of gas when I picked it up.
