Red Flags , I wish I could rate 0.I rented a car on 05/20/2026 for 3 days until Saturday. Front desk told me that office will be closed at 1:00 pm , we have drop box if you come to drop off the car after 1:00 pm. I dropped off the car Saturday @ 1:15 pm and due to Memorial Day weekend office was closed until Monday. They charge until Tuesday. It's weird. When I called to office they never responded properly and never refunded for the 3 days. I recommend never rent the car at this place. read more

I needed to rent a car since my car was in the repair shop for the day. I booked a reservation online the day before. Getting there and turning into the business is a nightmare since it's on a busy road and parking is very minimal. There isn't much space to park if it's busy which is first thing in the morning and right before 5:30pm. I had to wait for about 35 minutes since there was only 1 person working the desk and the person in front of me had no idea about his insurance and the prices he had to pay. I have plenty of patience so I waited, but I cannot speak for others that were there waiting with me needing to go to work. The office is dark and I felt it was a little messy. But I'm not there for that. As soon as it was my turn I was in and out in 10 minutes. The person was great, gave her my drivers license, credit card and I declined insurance since my car insurance covered this. Took a look at the car for damages, checked the gas and I was off. Later in the day, returning the car was even easier, he walked around the car for damages, checked my gas and we were done. Thanks enterprise. You just need to work on the parking situation and maybe have those line straps like they have in the banks so people know where to form a line. read more

I had a horrible experience at Enterprise Rent a Car of Colonia NJ. I urge anybody renting a car to avoid this Enterprise location. I am not a complainer; I just feel that the public needs to be aware. They are just literally thieves. I have attempted to contact them via email 3 times but NO RESPONSE. Here is what happened; I was overcharged on my rental from the rate in the Reservation Confirmation by almost $500 dollars. Top notch customer service at this location. I rent cars weekly and everyone is so friendly and attentive. Doesn't matter what time of day I arrived I'm always greeted with a warm welcome and smile. My cars are always clean and in wonderful condition. When you arrive make sure to give yourself a little time because there are occasions when other customers do have questions or need more time at the counter. Was provided with a rental car in April from this location. DO NOT RECOMMEND. stay far away from this location. The car I was given did not match the class of car I initially booked (no problem what ever). However, the car I received was covered in damage. I was reassured not to worry they are aware of the damage and they will note it. LUCKILY I took pictures and videos of the car, pointing out all the damage to the sales lady and where she tells me "it's okay, we are aware of the damage". This location takes SO LONG to pick you up and it happens EVERY TIME!!! I had a reservation for 10am. I called them around 9:30 to possibly get picked up by or before 10. It's going on 10:30- no one called or showed up. An HOUR later..I had to call them AGAIN to make sure someone was still coming!!? I've rented from this location maybe 3-4 times and it's always an issue with getting picked up and dropped off! At first this was one of the differentiating factors that helped Enterprise beat out the competition..but now I'm just starting to think it was a ploy to get people to rent from this business! If I could give this place 0 stars I would in a heartbeat. I did the right thing by making a reservation five days ahead of time to only show up and find out there's nothing available for me. I have to be in Boston for a work trip tomorrow morning and my reservation was set for 3pm. I arrived at 230pm and by 337pm I only had the option of renting a mini van. I wasn't given a single discount for my time wasted and aggravation, not to mention I'm leaving with a car that I did not request. I am not angry and the manager never came to speak to me after I requested to talk to him. This place is absolutely horrible and after years of renting from them it's time to part ways. We've rented from here a few times arranged through my insurance. Several months ago when my car was in the shop all they had was a Durango and I hated it. Now my car is in for repair again and I told the agent on the phone I do not want a big truck, I drive an Outback, I either want a small crossover or a car. When I arrive a Ford Explorer is waiting for me. WTF?? I said no. Eventually they find me a Jeep Cherokee. I hate this vehicle. So today I called for them to find me something smaller. I'm told "call back on Monday we have nothing" I think because my insurance actually covers a high dollar amount per day, this Enterprise location puts me in their biggest most expensive vehicles and doesn't actually care what I want. I told them I was not willing to pay any extra money since I had Geico and I am looking for a car that will be completely covered. I Go drop off the car and I was charged $100 but the last time I checked $50 deposit was on hold they said they would be refunded. So they took an extra $50 because the adjuster had not extended my rental plus I owed another $18 where they charged me an extra $5 per day which was not communicated to me (yet there were notes that I was aware. I reserved my car last week for today at 2:30pm. I called at 1:21pm to tell them I need a pick up. Someone picked up the phone told me to hold but hung up on me instead. I called right back they told me to hold once again this time she didn't hang up. I waited 6 minutes on hold till a man answered. I told him I needed a pick up & gave him my last name, he found me in the system told me it was for 2:30pm I told him yes I know. He then said not a problem I'll send one over should be there in 30 minutes. (REMEMBER THEY SAY WHEN YOU RESERVE A CAR IF YOU NEED TO BE PICKED UP CALL 30 MINUTES IN ADVANCE) So I waited & saw it was already 2:30pm. By that time I didn't need the car because I was already late to where I needed to be. As soon as I'm going to call Enterprise to cancel my pick up the drive pulls up my driveway I told him to leave because I'm canceling my rent a car. Bad for business for them because I also had a reserved car for the following week as well which I definitely canceled. I can see why this company gets so many negative comments online. Wow. No vehicles available at Rahway location and no way to get them from other Enterprise locations. No cross branch communication or customer service. For example...Rahway has no cars available. Colonia (less than 2 miles away) has cars but refuses to pickup from a location in Rahway's territory (BETWEEN the two branches). Absolutely unacceptable customer service as a company. My insurance company made a reservation on Friday for rental on Saturday. I was instructed to call when they open at 9 AM. I called and spoke to the manager who said they didn't have a car for me at the time but they would contact me by 11 AM and since I had a reservation they would definitely be getting me a car before they closed at 1 PM. I never received a call before 11 AM so I called them and was told that they were searching for a car and would call me back but I was definitely getting a car today. Never heard from them. I called at 12:45 and was told that they did not have a car for me but did I want to change my reservation to Monday. I said I have to work today and I need the car today. They put me on hold and never came back on the phone until 1:05 PM when someone came on the phone picked it up and then hung up on me. If I could give them zero stars I would! Update... Enterprise did get back in touch with me yet nothing was done to remedy the situation! I viewed the bill the insurance company received from Enterprise. There ended up being no free upgrade because they charged the insurance company $160 for a 2 day car rental. read more
