It's possible he came from his house, in which case he could have picked up my call. We told him we would need a ride later back to our hotel and he acknowledged that when dropping us off. Country Coach Charter pulled the old bait-and-switch on me, pocketed my deposit, and refused to refund me the money back when I received the invoice (months before the date of service) with services we did not agree on. Several months before my wedding, I requested a coach bus with air conditioning that seats 50. Darcy immediately responded and asked me to fill out a form on her website and submit the deposit, and she would immediately send over the invoice. Wanting to lock down transportation, I foolishly did so as I thought this was a honest, business relationship. When I finally received the invoice, it was for a a shuttle bus that doesn't even seat 50, with no air conditioning in the middle of summer (the shuttle bus wasn't even pictured on their website or facebook page). When I respectfully emailed back immediately saying that this is not what we agreed on, and if I could receive my deposit back, Darcy did not respond for months, after repeated calls and emails. My CC company would not refund me the money either due to filling out the form on her website first (which was my mistake). I am very disappointed that CC of Maine would conduct business in this manner, and am personally insulted that they wouldn't even return my phone calls or emails, even as I was being respectful. i Yelp a lot. like, a LOT. it's not often you happen upon a business that has so many excellent…read morereviews. i'm here to confirm that the excellent reviews are accurate. my husband and i have been on many a whale watch, but never a seal watch. knowing the weather yesterday was going to be amazing, we decided to give it a go. what to expect: free parking in a grassy area that abuts the dock. there are no bathrooms on site, but there is a port-a-potty which is very clean and easily accessible. there is some bench seating where you can hang out while waiting for your tour time. the website states you should arrive half an hour prior to your time, and that anyone who isn't there twenty minutes prior, is probably going to be left behind. knowing that, we were there promptly at 10, for our 10:30 tour. our captain (Captain Rob) started calling out party names at ten after, and, since we were all assembled, we actually ended up leaving a little early. he sat us by party in the boat, but was deliberate about instructing us where to sit, ensuring that the boat would be balanced. a note regarding the boat: at most, i would guess that the boat can seat about 12 - 14 adults comfortably. we were a party of 6 adults and two kids, so this is a pretty intimate tour. i've been on a bunch of different boats, but this was the smallest. if you are not used to being close to the water, this is a great introduction. you can expect to go at a pretty low speed as you are exiting the harbor, but you'll be going at around 25 mph when you are out, and heading toward the seals. the seals! there were so many! we did see several just bobbing in the water, as well as swimming, but we also saw huge crowds of them just hanging out on some sand bars. we could hear their braying and howling (a sign of contentment, according to Captain Rob), especially as we got close and the motor was turned off. the tour was a nice balance of history about the area, and the beautiful houses lining the shores, as well as information about the seals. you do get up close and personal, as they're often curious about the boat, so we had seals who were just feet away from us. Captain Rob- i can't say enough good things. he was incredibly nice, and developed a great rapport with not only the adults, but the two little kids (who, credit to their parents, were incredibly well-behaved). he just had such a gentle manner about him, and i felt very safe in his care. if you've never been on a seal watch, or you've never been out with Blue Claw, i highly, highly recommend. my husband and i will definitely be back, we enjoyed ourselves so much. this is a great way to spend around two hours out on the water, and appreciating a little slice of the beautiful Cape.

Although we were refunded a small percentage of the original payment, the house, loft and cottage were very rough. There were 18 of us, 6 were children. Not enough AC units for a home that size, dirty water (brown tinged) coming out of the cottage faucet, rhat leaked onto the floor of the bathroom, refrigerator in farmhouse not cooling properly, the two heat pumps that were in the loft and cottage had filters so filthy, they could not cool (work) properly (photo attached). When we arrived on a 98°+ day, the house and cottage were closed up with no ACs on, or windows opened. Dead flies were covering the beds and floors. We had to purchase two window AC units so that we would be comfortable sleeping during our stay. We will not be returning or doing business with this company again.

We went on a family kayaking trip and used Breakwater Kayak as our guide and outfitter for the…read moretrip. It was very easy to work with the staff to make the arrangements, and they made the trip happen even though they were not fully staffed for their in-season time. When we arrived the staff had taken the kayaks down to a grassy area in the park. The guide got us fitted with life vests, paddles, and spray skirts, and then it was down to the boats for some quick lessons about paddling technique. We were soon out on the water. The guide did a great level of working with our level of experience and provided clear directions about the paddle. We crossed the bay from the put in location to the Breakwater Lighthouse. While this lighthouse is accessible by walking the length of the breakwater (.8 miles) it was great fun to see it by the water. Once we got to the light, we then paddled down the length of the breakwater to a beach by the Samoset resort. The wind was blowing pretty strong from the shore, so this was a pretty good paddle. Once we got to the beach, we were able to get out of the boats for a few minutes and then we were back on the water. The next leg was a pretty good open water crossing again as we made our way back across the bay towards the shipyards. Here you get to see some of the industrial sides of the water. People who depend on the sea to make a living. There was a fishing dock where large fishing boats offload, there is the coast guard station, and then there is the marina and restaurants. Overall we were on the water for just over 3 hours. Our guide was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable about key subjects and really provided a very educational as well as enjoyable paddle. We heard stories about the lighthouses, we learned the history or the area, the lobster fishing industry and all about the ports. While Breakwater Kayak is a smaller operation than some of the others in the area, you are guaranteed to get a well-trained guide who is really wanting to make sure that you have a safe and memorable adventure.
